wow every since yang Zi did born to be alive. I’ve seen a massive down voting on her drama pages. It’s a shame and yes viewership hasn’t increased much as many said they didn’t know it aired. but some find this drama boring due to ink making, family business, female centric. it’s a shame the over hyped dramas get all the love on mdl because it shows sexy leads and romance that makes you vomit from overbearing. However, I truly think this drama will raise its viewership standards. It’s way better than yes the famous Flourished peony imo. It’s also better than the brocade oddessy and even Glory with the tea making. I love dramas about actual Chinese historical making and strong female characters. So far Li Zhen is someone who doesn’t take things lying down and she doesn’t forgive so easily. Something Mudan pissed me off a lot with how forgiving she was. If anyone is wondering how it’s doing in China. it is Top.3 on and Top.2 on charts. Yang Zi character has already broken records and the dramas as well. Elvis has had a hot search along with the actor who played his brother. So the drama isn’t tanking but steadily rising higher and higher. Just in case many are curious about how it’s being well received. It’s also been in newspapers and English papers this drama is already like BTBA a Chinese cultural certified hit. Don’t let haters and naysayers nor MdL rating (which doesn’t determined a hit drama in China) to detour you from enjoying this masterpiece. It was once 8.0 that should tell you how the massive low bombing it’s getting. It’s not the only one ZZA is also suffering from antics looking for romance as well, as haters of Yang Yang. Just watch these dramas for yourself and judge for yourself.

it’s not about some don’t like it. what I’m saying is yes you might not like it. but it’s definitely not for the reasons you’re stating. if you go look you will see nothing but haters. if you scroll you will see haters. anyways I’m off to work and just wanted to give also my opinion but an actual fact about why rating is low. have a good one

I’m aware it’s your opinion. the plot is boring if you’re not interested in traditional cultural history. most are not but the reason rating is low is not because of ml. nor storyline is boring. just pure haters.

it’s not because of the ml lol not sure why you assume that. it’s literally haters if you scroll down you’ll see. you’ll see also in epsiode guide how people are rating all episodes 5.0 or 1.0

sadly she’s going for more serious roles or whatever speaks to her. we can only hope she takes on something like lost you forever and immortal samsara again.

out of all li hongyi dramas this one and the time travel one are my top I’m waiting to see.

well I’m not western so I’m thinking like a typical Asian person. For me it lacked substance in areas especially fl. I felt so bad for rain she’s an amazing actress with range deep range. just check out her role in mysterious lotus casebook etc. however they underused her and made her half strong and half weak.
