I wacthed it years ago and did again recently. It still haunts me. All the characters and actors left a mark and was sooo engrossed in their roles. I really got emotionally attached to it. I think it is probably the best ensemble cast in K Drama.
I would like it more if he died and left FL regreting.
It would have been too cruel after all he´s been through. The drama is the best for me because it is wonderfully paced, directed and especially written with the use of methaphors until the ending. Redemption is a big theme throughout and I think they wanted to show how no one and nothing is truly black and white in life. Every single character was both a victim and a "bad guy". They all paid the price for their mistakes or crimes and so it wouldnt have made sense for him to die. His last words to his father, the cinematography and the simplicity and calmness of their final encounter was so satisfying and beautiful after such a wild ride.
He's exceptional in his acting and a pleasure to watch....keep watching...time will tell.

Great plot and could have been so good but the actors just cannot.....ACT. They are both so stiff and make it really hard to buy into their romance. Didn´t feel any chemistry, which is a big issue as the whole drama is centered around them.
CGI is horrid BUT this is the epitome of what an epic romance should be. This drama is for the die hard romantic types who want the feels, unconditional and passionate love. Yang mi is probably one of the most overrated actresses, I can never connect to her and her acting. She always has that aloof approach to every single character. Leät be real, without Mark Chao´s dazzling acting the drama would not be what it is. He blew me away the same way Mr Darcy did when I first watched P&P. Drama worth watching if only for him.
Not sure why the rating is so high!!! Proves that people are really shallow and support good looking/popular actors over talent. The first episodes are good but it went completely downhill. Would only recommend it for a younger audience as it is cute but if you want a solid romance/couple and great action then no.
For any Chinese speaker here :) Someone mentioned that the writer said the dynamics would change between the "couples" which means a bit of hope for the Prince....Have you noticed that he appears A LOT in the opening theme and the actor is listed as main so maybe we´d finally get to see the second lead win??
What a breath of fresh air this drama is! No crappy CGI, a smart and strong heroine who can be lovable and sensible, a good mix of action and suspence, amazing cinematography and one of the best angsty one-sided romance. Doesn´t matter if people say he is not the lead, I totally root for the Prince. The chemistry is off the hook!

Thank you!! I don’t understand why people were so pissed off with him and called him heartless. He didn’t do anything out of cruelty; this is war so he wasn’t going to be gentle. If he didn’t they would have both been killed. I personally wanted her to love him.
Not really...it does in the book so people who have read it are expecting season 2 but no news so far. I must say that it was a highly frustrated ending BUT if you love action, stunning leads, a heroic actress and lots of restrained love, then it is still worth watching.
