As people that have seen both the actual drama and this special, which one would you recommend I watch first?? The only reason that I'm asking is because this is apparently a prequel to whatever goes down in the drama.

Short answer? Yes. The ending is AWFUL! Longer more spoiler-filled answer (Don't proceed unless you want the ending completely spoiled): - - - - - So from episode 1-13 it's complete lighthearted fluff, I'm talking smiling from ear to ear and rushing to watch the next episode adorable. BUT OUT OF FUCKING NOWHERE it turns into a melodrama with the ML getting cancer and disappearing for 5 years (and is assumed dead) only to reappear in the last 5 minutes of the drama to make it a "happy" ending. There were ZERO hints given that there was anything even remotely wrong with the ML, if anything they made it look like the 2nd ML was possibly terminal. Which makes the abrupt & painfully stupid decision on having the ML get cancer extra frustrating. Honestly from the moment that the ML goes back to Seoul this drama started falling apart...

Honestly as someone that's just completed this drama, and is feeling rather depressed inside from that BS ending. I think you've made the best decision dropping it at Ep 13, because it truly goes to sh*t from 14 onwards lol.
