The ones that baffle me the most is the shortcut used for cdrama titles. For example, it took me a few minutes (duh!) to decipher LLTG as "love like the galaxy". Hopefully they keep cdrama titles short ! sometimes I need to google.
You should try:1. Joy of Life series2. Rise of the phoenixes3. Nirvana in fireRomantic/harem kinda:4. Love like…
Done JOL1 , all time favourite. Joy of Life 2 is definitely in my bucket list. But I want to watch them when I have more time., Done love like the galaxy. Very good. Story of Minglan and Yangxi Palace have epic #episodes so a bit daunting. I've watched some episodes/clips of YgxiPalace already, very good. Kunning Palace, quite good but dropped...again due to my lack of stamina. May picked it up again. Thanks.
Asking doublets opinion here. Want to try another cdrama. Already dropped shenli and princess royal. Is blossoms any good? Pretty high rating in drama list.

What is a HE? High Explosive? Duke Su uses it to escape at the end? Dramalist really need acronym reference page for newbies like me, some of acronym names used for drama stakes me some time to decipher.
No no no no. Not every tale can be told in 25 hours. The Story of Minglan and Story of Yanxi palace would not…
Actually, you don't have to bring up a classic s like GWTW to demonstrate the impact of wokeness on modern shows. Science fiction fans like me are still livid with Disney on what they've done to Star Wars and Star Trek. However, if I remembered correctly, the movie Crouching Tiger and Hidden dragon was also loosely based on a wuxia novel. Somehow Ang Lee have managed to loosely adapt the what I assume is classic wuxia novel to a 2-hour cinema epic. Look at what the movie has done for recognition of Chinese/HK cinema. That's what I'm looking for in more historical dramas. Purist can still have those full 60 episodes type while we Philistines can have the dumbed down or LITE versions heh heh. Anyway good conversation. Thanks, and cheers.
There is a five-minute episode 40.5 to make sure the viewers see the happy couple happy with a kid.
I read that and I respectfully don't agree with it. In the Bronze (Zhou dynasty) age, there were certainly rules of chivalry, for example if a chariot is stuck in the mud, you don't attack the occupant until he is free. By the time of the Song, the death of a leader may or may not cause the army to dissolve away due to other reasons (moral collapse, loss of will to fight...etc) but not because of any rules. Battles are way too chaotic anyway unlike the ones in dramas.

I don't know about the symbolism, and I'll watch out for it, but she said the military situation did not permit an escape. I haven't seen that scene, so no comments. But then she forgot Duke Su can turn on the afterburners and jet away like a F16.

My significant other just completed the drama outside Netflix(I haven't, so I don't know the ending) and she felt very let down by the ending. She thought ML died. I told her about existence of 40.1, she said what's the point. To her situation is not ambiguous, the ML dies. The 40.1 is just a fan service.

I get your point of view but I think cdramas will not be able to reach the popularity of kdramas internationally if they keep to too many episodes which is a shame. It's really a barrier to most normal watchers. It will be confined mainly to the interest of Chinese and the Chinese diaspora.
Not really, the rule of 40 episodes for one drama is actually short for Chinese costume dramas especially if the…
I am watch certain type of animes due to my kid's introduction(ex: Apocathery Diaries, Frieren...). Anime adaptions tend to follow almost 99% of the manga source. One season is usually 12 episodes of 25 minutes effectively. As a result, each anime season will only cover a very small portion of the manga. If the anime is popular, they may extend to another season or two usually after a lapse of half to one year. I find that I almost always complete the animes I watch because they do not exhaust you. It probably won't work with dramas because live actors availability will complicate things.
Edit: Looked it up , its Ancient Love Song. Completely screwed up the title...
