Just a heads up-it is very low budget.
If it had a bigger budget some of this film's flaws might have been fixed. Thankfully, it was short. I thought about rating it lower, but for a movie made on a shoestring budget it had heart.

Lucky you! I’m cursed with the inability to sleep in moving cars! 🥺
I meant the drama where they had shoulder naps. 😄

I would not be able to sleep in a cab. ❌

Yes I watched it on prime and the subtitles were so confusing.
Sometimes we have to suffer for our love of film. 😄

If it was cheaper, they likely did. I was just grateful there were some sort of subtitles, but would love for it to be properly subtitled. I tried watching an old Japanese film on YouTube that had auto generated subtitles and had to stop, I couldn't make any sense out of what people were saying, and the titles lagged behind the person who was speaking making it even more confusing! I managed to make it through one really old film with auto generated subs but it gave me quite the headache deciphering them as I went along.🥴

Probably the same copy. It was really hard to keep up with who they were talking about at times.

My rating went down because of the final twist. I could go with the twisted revenge up until then and then they lost me. The production values and tight writing were good as well as the acting.

And the final plot twist, sick as it was, once again left her without any choice or agency of her own. < this.…
I know the director wanted to shock the audience, seemed to be the main theme of this movie, but like you said, it went from disturbing to gross.

I was fine with the 1979 setting and didn’t think it needed to be in the present. My point was that I’ve seen dramas set in the present where housewives have to suppress their emotions when their husbands have affairs and they stay with the cheaters due to societal and financial pressures. That part didn’t feel very different. I was subtly trying to say that things haven’t changed that much.

I do really appreciate the info on the author and the director though. I love to hear about the writers and directors of dramas and films. Thank you! 😊

I didn’t make my point very clear. Sadly, I’ve seen dramas set in the present with the same concerns and outcomes regarding infidelity so the 1979 setting didn’t make much difference even if it was authentic to the book.

This was honestly a good short movie to make viewers think about stuff we usually ignore, coz they don't affect…
There are people more committed to their identity politics than they are compassion and understanding. Closed minded people are far more dangerous than anyone deemed “different.” Some days it feels like they’d be okay with going back to stoning and burning. These films are important to be reminded that humanity is varied and beautiful. ❤️💜💚💛🧡🖤🤎
