This story is precisely about angst that lasts for 12 years lol
I can see where you're coming from. Though personally I loved how head over heels he was for her even though they never actually started. That bittersweet first love that hit the poor guy so hard 3
2 episodes in and this already surpassed most of the dramas I've watched. This is totally my type of drama. The cute, innocent first love that makes me smile unconsciously, the comedy that makes me cackle out loud, and just enough angst that keeps me at the edge of my seat. Probably will go into my top 10 all time favs if the quality can be maintained throughout the series.
She was making fun of him as a sibling. Even in daily life my friends who are close to one another ask people who can't find a gf if they are gay (not that they'll discriminate him if he really is) but yeah it's a very common thing to say to someone who can't find a gf for a very long time. Plus siblings being mean to each other is even more common. Just because it's about being gay doesn't immediately make it homophobic.
So Ji Sub never gets old! Really looking forward to this... Though I'm a bit worried how the romance will play out between the leads since the FL is/was already married and has a kid. I wonder if she'd get over her former husband that quickly given all that shock.
I'm worried that this will have a sad ending given that MS might actually have dementia. His memory is deteriorating in the latest episode and it seems it will get worse. Dementia is basically a slow death plus you forget about the people you love... it's just sad...
I was wondering the same myself. Is it better to watch the original first or should I just watch remake first?…
I'm glad you chose to watch the Japanese version first to have a taste of the original story. I'm also interested to see how the Korean one will play out. It may come to have its unique charms and style even if it doesn't choose to follow the original, as expected from Kdramas in general.
The ending was so rushed that some parts shown in the preview did not appear in the last episode :( And there was one scene where they even exposed the microphone during the filming!! Honestly this didn't end well for me. It could have been way better if they hadn't cut 8 episodes from the story. Felt like a lot was left out and the pacing was off.
@ J100, did you forget to take your medications ? i'm sorry but u sound like someone just rambling incoherently…
Wow... I think everyone has their right to express their viewpoints. I agree that there are many ways to approach a certain topic but someone can still dislike the way the message was presented and think it is ineffectively addressed or glossed over. It is obvious that OP's first language isn't English but he/she has spent a lot of time and effort to write the comment. Insulting someone simply because they have a different viewpoint from you, or because you feel that they are not expressing their viewpoints in the most objective way possible is disrespectful behavior. (Plus there is no rule out there that says one cannot be subjective when expressing opinions about a work, we are all subjective to a certain extent)
I knew it was originally 40 EPS but I was surprised it only now has 32 EPS. Would you know why it was shortened?…
I don't think anybody knows the real reason, but my guess is that since they have to follow the broadcasting schedule for the new dramas in line, and this was delayed for 4 episodes due to ASEAN games plus next week is Chuseok which means 4 more episodes which could have been aired could not be aired, they decided to shorten it. If you add up the 4 episodes cancelled due to ASEAN games + 4 episodes cancelled due to Chuseok you actually get 40 episodes.
I want to watch this because Jung So Ming since i like her neat acting, but you guys are saying this is going…
(Borderline spoilers)
Watch this only if you're in for kind characters you're invested in suddenly murdering others, taboo relationships, or messed up psychopathic actions like inducing people to kill each other.

"Its the main theme of the whole drama, So, korean version will obviously include it"
I am still skeptical about that, since there are indeed certain horrifying scenes and occurrences in the story that contribute to the dark undertone, so there's still a chance they take away some of those parts or present it in a less compelling way. But we never know until it's actually released. I still think they will change the ending at least.
And despite my appreciation towards Seo In Guk as a talented actor, I don't think he'll ever be able to surpass Kimura's legendary performance. Kimura literally breathed and lived the character. It wasn't just about the acting, it was his temperament, the way he looked, spoke, his presence and the feeling he radiated that brought life to and defined the character. If someone is interested in the story, I'd definitely recommend them to check out the original first.
I don't think introverted is the right word. Introversion is a normal personality trait, whereas social anxiety isn't. What the lead has here is social anxiety, not introversion. Situations like these cause people to form misconceptions about extro/introversion or cause introverts to be discriminated/misunderstood or pressured to change.
