I think once I finish this show, I will write a full show review, but after watching ep 8 I had to weigh in on how dear this quirky and underrated show is and how particularly perfect this episode was. While the show has been mostly fun and silliness up until now, it has always been well written and entertaining. But in episode 8 we see a lot of heart, really excellent character interactions, some very good acting, and it even made me cry. This was a truly great episode.
Few shows balance emotion and humor as well as this one is doing. Sure it's more humor than emotion, but the writers remember to make us really care about these people, and no where did I feel that more than episode 8. Powerful stuff!

Drama Special Series Season 1: White Christmas Episode 1

I've wanted to watch this drama for some time after seeing a lot of positive reviews, and I cannot say I was disappointed. It is truly impressive. It is totally unlike any other Kdrama I've seen and that is a compliment. But all of the plot uniqueness aside, what is most astounding is the way it looks. It is a beautiful show!
I've only seen 2 episodes but it looks like an extended critically acclaimed arthouse film. Each scene is perfectly framed to be both meaningful and beautiful. The plot thus far and the acting are both top notch -- the plot is suspenseful and they are doling out the details at just the right pace, and the acting fits the overall mood of the show.
I hope this show keeps with its beautiful visuals and pitch perfect eeriness because even if the plot ends up having weaknesses those elements are enough to keep me watching with anticipation. Also, the soundtrack features AC/DC's Back in Black and an Arcade Fire song, so I've also declared it my favorite ever Kdrama soundtrack.

I have no clue what just happened in this episode. Maybe it made more sense to native speakers, but it was one of the single most nonsensical hours of TV I've ever seen. I was really enjoying this show, but I truly think it should have been 16 episodes because dragging it out has meant taking a tour through Crazy Town! It's like watching how people would behave around killers in Bizzarro World! So am I to somehow believe that in SK all you have to do to get away with murder and walk freely through the streets is convince some psychiatrists that you have multiple personality disorder? I certainly hope not!!! And that was only 1 of about a million incredibly stupid things that happened in this episode.
