I would say he is more of an anti-hero but not a villain

I think its mostly because of who he reminds him of, The only person who ever really cared about him, "His Brother"

wow, I didn't know that. I loved both. she seems to write really likeable non complete push over female leads. I m going to check out more of her stuff if there is more that she wrote.

hmmm sigh. I made it to ep 4 but I fell asleep and when I woke up I really didn't feel like going back to it again, so for now, its on hold indefinitely, I m not comparing this to any previous drama but commenting on it based on its merits alone and my reaction to this drama can be summed into four words, "WHAT!!!", "REALLY!!!", "ARE YOU SERIOUS!!!" and "SURE!!! WHY NOT". My first issue, the one that I ve seen most pointed out here is "the cringe". seriously, I m usually someone who doesn't mind or care about cringe as long as a drama is fun but even I couldn't overlook that. I wont talk about the English speaking, since that can be understood as they are not native English speakers and the Country they are supposedly in was not an English speaking country, so it makes sense that their English wont be the best, so I have no comment on that but then their first and second meeting was cringe, their characters in a whole is just cringy, their 2nd leads also mega cringy, the rescue and medical procedure parts all cringy that I felt like I had to turn off my brain for a while to get through it. They get overly upset over things that weren't in that bad, like their first meeting, the guy was already competing when she got there, when he got up, the water or whatever was in the bowl got on her and her food, she could see it was a mistake, he didn't do it deliberately, she confronted him, he apologized and said he will pay for her meal, albeit not so nicely but it was done, that should have ended it. "I don't understand why she got angrier and then told him something about not being his restaurant and blah blah blah, its not of her business, the owner of the restaurant didn't say anything, why is she the one upset about it". that was my first "WHAT". that was just creating conflict where there didn't need to be one. And for me, it just went downhill from there, she is supposedly a military doctor, I m not an expert on this but shouldn't she have like basic combat skills, However she is so weak, I often forget she has anything to do with the military. the second conflict wasn't any better, their argument was so senseless to me, both were so unprofessional and Illogical, I get where the guy was coming from, a rescue was going on she should have stayed down but her playing hero got the soldier gravely injured, but first of all, she was just trying to help, I know he is grieving and angry but if he is a trained military professional who supposedly made it all the way to a major, he should understand that these things happen, blaming the doctor wont solve anything, secondly they way the came in blasting the roof guns blazing without clearing out the civilians I m sure they injured some civilians too, so he is in no place to criticize anyone. On her part, she should have understood that family of patients can react that way, especially when scared and upset. She shouldn't have followed him to demand an apology, especially since she wasn't also completely in the right it makes no sense for the profession they were in, that part had me going, "Really". I don't even want to go into it. she is not outspoken to me, she is immature and full of herself. As for the male lead, I don't even know what the deal is yet. I don't understand or have any sense of his character or who he is except he has insomnia, affected by death of comrade and takes care of comrades child, is rude and comes off as an ass, but when it comes down to the core of who he is, I have no impression of his character, I don't know if anyone else but me gets what I m trying to say but to put it simply, "I don't understand him". which brings me back to another interaction that bothered me, her unsolicited advice on his mental health and what she thinks he should be doing. I m sorry, she has no idea if he was seeing someone or taking something for it, its his own personal trauma, His business which she should not have gotten involved in, its not something for her to casually talk or comment about, even if she wanted to, she should have made sure he was okay with talking about it first before she did, she could have triggered him or worse as she was not completely aware or knowledgeable about his condition. That part made me go "Are you serious" and she is supposedly a doctor. speaking of doctors, the fact that they had to twist the arm of an experienced doctor to double check a kids condition, which she didn't notice while a mere resident(not gonna comment on that) did is BEYOND IDIOTIC especially since the repercussion of her being right was large. I mean Doctors know they are not God and no doctor wants a child to die because of their ego or their reluctance to perform extra testing which would have helped be certain no complications will crop up during the surgery. And the main lead claims he loves this child like a son, but the FL found a complication that could have led to more trouble for the child during surgery, but he never thanked her for that, not even once, at least not at the part I stopped. I mean besides their conflict, he never thanked her for noticing and letting them know also fighting/insisting it be checked, which is one of the reasons, I said, I don't really understand his character or maybe they created him to be just an ass which is a very common ML trope, which this drama is filled with. Just one big trope fest taken from every other drama out there and mixed into one. And then I m not even going to talk about her ex or her immature reaction to his return, I mean, she is a grown woman, acting like a 16 year old, which now brings me to the biggest "Sure why not" that made me completely lose hope, her best friend aka, the second female lead. I mean a 30 year old woman acting like a teen(sure why not). falling head over heels, not even just interest or like, but head over heels for a guy who didn't say more than 3 sentences to you and all of them about your switched luggage(sure why not), finding out he is your bestfriends ex, who she has issues with and who hurt her a lot and you considered a player but continuing to like and pursue him, why? because he is good-looking with sad eyes(I give up). Usually when I don't like a FL that much, I usually stay for the 2nd FL, but in this case, I don't like either, the Male lead is unimpressionable and the 2nd ML is just plain weird, and the story is nothing new, then why the heck would I keep watching. I may check it out later in the future to see if it gets better after I get through the beginning part, but I really doubt I ll finish this drama. but who knows, maybe it will get better and surprise me but I m not counting on it....Didn't mean to rant this much but I had high hopes for this drama, which is why the let down hurts even more. This is my personal opinion, don't attack me for it, don't just take my word for it either, you can watch it and form your own opinion too. preferences differ, this one is just not my cup of tea but it could be yours.

cant believe this adorable bundle of joy haodu sang the ost for word of honor and love and redemption, two of my favorite osts...wow, I m looking forward to more from him, He is an extremely talented young man, he will go far.

For me, I think its the simple things , that bother me, for example I don't think she has ever asked Sae Ro yi, about whats his been through, how he has been surviving all these years, Its like she doesn't care about his experiences or how lonely and alone he has been I understand her survival instinct when she was young, her choosing the president over him but now she is a grown ass woman with a degree, she can find work wherever in anyother companybut she , chose to stay because its easier, she may have to work from the bottom up at another company but atleast her conscience will be clear and she will stop crying and screaming about how conflicted she feels. She never takes how he feels into condition and we all know the reason she hasn't done anything really awful yet, (except choosing to take the presidents money and not backing sae ro yi in court), is because the president hasn't asked her to do anything horrible yet. We know if he asks her to, she will do it, for her own survival not caring about the impact it will have on him. And she may have not made that phone call but she saw the girls who made it, if she really cared, she would have warned him knowing fully well the repercussions for him. I don't expect her to be a saint but atleast I expect loyatly. Even if she decided to play both sides, her loyaltyto him would be unquestionable, because we know the president would have not known if she had warned him or not. Yi seo on may have her fault, she is no saint by fault and can be villainous but when it comes to Sae Ro yi, she will back him and defend him with her all, not matter what. Her loyalty to him is is without doubt. for that reason alone, I prefer her, I don't need the female lead to be all good or a saint, but She should always be there for him and have his back. Thats the one thing Soo ah doesn't have that disqualfies her in my eyes. But this is just my opinion

I wasn’t trying to create heat or hate, so I apologize if it came of that way, I m usually a pacifist and I hardly ever even comment on here, so if I sounded overbearing even a little bit, I m sorry, I sincerely apologize. I completely understand that it was based solely on your opinion and trust me, I ve had my share of not understanding why people liked certain characters or dramas, so I m in no position to say anything about your opinions, I m sorry, I went a little too far. I actually started that reply to correct some thing inaccurate you said in the plot and it spiraled into that. It’s not even that I love the drama, that much, I also gave it a 7, which for me means I found it average because I usually score solely on how much I enjoyed a show and anything below an 8 means I didn’t enjoy it that much, so how I ended up ranting at you over it, I have no idea but anyways, sorry again, wasn’t trying to hate. Everyone is entitled to their own opinions and I respect yours.

Actually she is right, you might want to rewatch innocent man, he was deceptive to seo eun gi and tried to use her to get revenge in the beginning but thats where his anti staus ends. Even while trying to use her, he ended up saving her mothers hotel that was precious to her. It might have been to gain her trust but still he did it. Also after she left her home for him, he gave up on using her, that what he was trying to tell his ex before the female lead found and drove straight into him causing an accident that led to a bleed in his brain. He saw the car coming, but out of guilt, he didn't try to avoid it. After that, he disappeared from her life while he worked to raise enough money to treat his sister since he believed he would be dying soon. The female lead finds him later amnesiac and childlike, losing her company to his evil ex. He takes it upon himself to get it back for her and takes all the abuse she dishes at him after her memory returns because of love and guilt. In the end, he even takes a knife for her. there's more but I can't go into it all, just to say, its not a matter of difference of opinion, I just feel its either been to long since you watched it that you can't remember exactly what happened or you skip watched a lot of it, so you didn't watch the full thing. If you think I m not making sense, go back and try to watch from after the accident again and see. I came here from you other Anti hero post and I find it kind of unfair that after categorizing lee ban won and the guy from empress ki there(btw I agree with them being there), that even though most of the things they did are worse than this character, he gets the anti label instead.
