what i'm enjoying about this drama is that everyone is constantly one-upping each other. noone ever has the upper-hand for too long. so far this seems to be one of those dramas you just have to roll with. and if you can keep up with the devious plotting (i've had to playback a few times), you'll probably enjoy it even more. i'm getting a kick out of whisper, but i'm wondering what evilness the writers have in store for us, and if my heart can take another 12 episodes of manipulation, schemes and corruption. lol.

i could probably deal with the gangsters, highschoolers and overbearing mother, if the rom-com slapstick story line had been kept, and their roles had developed and grown over the course of the drama (which it hasn't). but what i especially can't stand, like you mentioned, is the coupling of rom-com with crime-suspense. it leaves me wondering wtf is happening most of the time. i'm not going to lie, i still love watching the lovey dovey scenes btwn DBS and AMH. those two love birds and ji soo are the only reasons i'm still watching this mess.

It's like I'm watching two dramas. A cutesty rom-com with a fantastical spin. And a dark suspense thriller. I'm unsure why the writer thought it was a good idea to stuff every genre possible into this story! Yeesh. Every time I start getting into the crime-thriller aspect, it switches back to rom-com. It's jarring and distracting. Each on their own would have been good stories to further explore and develop. I really liked the way SWDBS started...it's a shame they didn't keep the integrity of the story and the initial fantasy rom-com genre. I'll finish this, but the anticipation of the next episode is completely gone. :(

One thing I wish would have been written better -- I know Chief Jun Sung Shik is now 30 years older, but it's rare that people are unrecognizable just three decades later (aside from the drama using a different actor). So how the heck does Park Gwang Ho, who is supposedly a detective and trained in noticing minute details (like dots on heels), not recognize someone he worked with just a day ago?

I'm going to miss TQ Psycho, Gluttonous Sociopath, and the rest of the cast. The actors must have had a blast filming this. I can only imagine how hilarious the BTS' are.

I'm still amazed at what a fantastic job the writer did, juxtaposing the right amounts of comedy with the more serious elements of corruption and righteousness. it was the perfect balance.

And the bromance and their dialogue was life! --stop winking at me. --don't try to kiss me. --i hate that tongue. lol

Really enjoyed watching this. Well paced plot. Lovely romance.

Btwn the TQ psycho ticket to save Seo Yool and "he can't stop eating. please save his lost soul," i seriously couldn't stop laughing. i absolutely love the comedy in this drama, and even more so, the bromance. this is one of those rare dramas that has gotten exponentially better as it draws to a close.

this drama is daebak. i can't even hate on the "villains" bc they are just as hilarious as the good guys. great job writernim.

I know they have to pace the story in order to fill 30 episodes, but the drama is becoming slower than molasses. I wish they'd split the time more evenly between the past and present. At this point, the present scenes have become far more interesting. Perhaps because we're only getting snippets, making me want to see more.

Why would you get bashed for liking one of the idol actors? We all have favorites, be they good or bad! lol. Taehyung is the main reason I gave this a try, because unless it's REALLY engaging, I generally skip period dramas. The story turned out to be interesting enough, even if it unraveled halfway. And the bromances were fun to watch. The lead couple, not so much. I fast forwarded through the majority of their scenes.

Oh Hwarang....I really wanted to love you....but between Ah Ro's nonstop crying, a main couple who had absolutely zero chemistry, and a story that jumped around like a hot potato...I just couldn't. But kudos to the bromances - they were a pleasure to watch.

i'm starting to get the feeling that so joon's mentor could be ma rin's dad, and that he's travelling from the past to save his daughter, by having so joon marry and have a baby with her. and does no one on the train notice when so joon disappears and reappears from the middle of nowhere?

we should have taken the hint, when they unbelievably survived that plane crash, that the rest of the drama would be just as absurd and unrealistic. not gonna lie though, this drama is addictive.

LOL. I had a feeling you wouldn't like this one b/c of LJH. It happens though. There are some actors/actresses that completely destroy dramas for me if they are the leads. The only exception is if the plot is phenomenal (which rarely happens), and/or casts other actors that are favorites.

I like this. It has a grounded and realistic feel to it, and isn't overly light and fluffy. The start is mellow, with a seemingly straightforward plot, but I'm anticipating some interesting turn of events. I'm intrigued where the writers will take this. Not sure how I feel about his time-travel mentor, though. Good or bad?

@Pripri99 agree. they should take a few pointers from japan. jdrama is short, sweet and to the point. rarely more than 12 episodes.

The inconsistencies and surrealist tendencies of the show, drive me up the wall. But despite this, I'm really enjoying Missing 9. It's one of the few shows I look forward to every week.

Your comment sums up how I feel about Missing 9, but was too lazy to write myself. I love the actors and “survivalist” premise, but I hate the inconsistencies. Although, I’m beginning to ignore the contradictions – there are so many. I fast forward occasionally, so I believed I had missed something, when Joon Oh magically reappeared two days after he “drowned”. I thought he had washed up on the other island. But no. He was on the main one all along. The island isn’t THAT big. Why couldn't he walk over to tell the group he was alive? I know! Because the writer thought it would be too unbelievable, if Tae Ho had to fight SIX grown men and women for that stupid lifeboat – therefore, get rid of Joon Oh temporarily. Right. Because holding off FIVE of them was so realistic. How does this drama manage to reel me in every week? I seriously shouldn’t be enjoying Missing 9 as much as I am. :)
