Seriously are people really enjoying this drama? I am not😭😭😭😭
Yep, I'm actually intrigued with the plot and I don't mind much politics. I also love intelligent main leads, so despite there are some hateful side characters I'm still enjoying the show. Not a fan of costume dramas, but so far I'm loving the show.
I'm only one who don't care ML doesn't know FL identity yet 🤣🤣 I want this in first episodes, but now what…
I also feel the same, because the fact that FLX and BFX thinks the same and can read each other's mind means they can have same reactions too. As we saw before that BFX didn't make it a big deal when she discovered his real identity, I'm pretty sure that FLX will do the same. Also look at how healthy their relationship is now, even without label yet they greatly care for each other. My heart is already full just by watching them together. 😍
Okay but how the hell can a FATHER witness his OWN SON in a state like that, and not only he just stared at him with those eyes but he's the REASON why FLX is in pain too?! I know that that King of Yongzhou got lied to so he had reasons to be mad, but I gotta say he's too narrow-minded to make that move fr. He's basically one-sided, he gave punishment first instead of hearing his son's explanation and trusting him after all of good things he had done, unlike XY's dad the King of Qingzhou who thinks ahead of the future. First, he raised his children to be a loving siblings instead of letting them fight for the throne, and shows fair affection for them. He managed to create a good harmony and bonding between them, so it's not hard to guess that he can also rightfully rule a kingdom and be a good king. I don't mean to compare the two kings as they might have different experiences but that King Yong really crossed the line, he didn't even close his eyes or look to other directions when he saw FLX bleeding and having a hard time to breathe. If he can watch his own son almost-dying, then what if it's other people who's not related to him who's in FLX's position? Will he be merciless without knowing their real intentions? What kind of king is that ugh! Sorry I just need to vent out my frustrations.
This is so relatable, thanks for this article. I re-watch dramas when 1. I've watched the show when I was still younger so I already forgot details, but I wanted to remember everything; 2. If I simply just want to mark it 'completed' here in MDL lmao xD (though it only happened a few times yet); and 3. If I am just simply wanted to re-watch a scene that matches with my mood, or that will make me have a particular mood I wanted to have after watching that. I also experienced the pros and cons that you mentioned, especially now that I'm also re-watching a drama. Thankfully, those old dramas I re-watched are what actually revived me from my 'drama slump' era last year that's why I'm back to dramas now haha. I also sometimes appreciate a drama more if I got to re-watch it.
I've watched some clips of this drama on YouTube when it was still airing, and I really like the leads' chemistry but I still hesitated to watch it because the show is too long for me and I'm not really a fan of wuxia or any historical/costume dramas. But after watching WTRW I saw that L&R is recommended by many viewers so I decided to give it a try when I got some free time. I've seen many praises about the show so I have quite high expectations. ~
I get why many people can't get into the drama and are bothered with FL's acting, but as some people said, her character was really supposed to not have much facial expressions at first. This issue had been the discussion here too before when the drama is still airing and many people agreed that her acting really did seem a bit off at first, but she got better as the show progressed. Plus Tong Yao is hard-working and she had her own charms imo so she never annoyed me even a bit. I'm also surprised some people said the story is boring and confusing, when I mostly see praises about the show and saying how great the leads' chemistry are in almost every social media platform. Maybe it's just that this kind of drama isn't for everyone as we had different tastes so it's fine if some of you don't like this, but with all due respect I refuse to agree that FIYS can be called as the worst drama one can ever see. As for the game, I didn't much had a hard time distinguishing who is who because they're showing the faces of the one who's playing at a time, and I love the bromance here as well as the the lovable supporting characters.
The fact that I used to complain how long 16-ep dramas are especially if there are too many sub-plots and unnecessary scenes, but now what I wanted to complain about is how short 40-ep WTRW is and I wanted more of BFX's backstory.
I already considered his imagination in Ep21-22 as kiss, since they really did it 😂 That's how I can move on without worrying despite they are still not together lol. I hope they'll give us a lot of romantic scenes in Ep30s+ 👀
Ep23 : - I love how BFX didn't became sad when FLX urgently needs to leave, instead she appreaciated what FLX prepared for her before he left. - "This military trip is long and arduous. But with you by my side, it feels like the best days in my life." AAA my hearttt *screams* Ep 24 : - FLX : "Liangcheng is unsafe. This (Deity of Romance) is just a protective charm." That was too funny but an indirect way of confessing too 😆. - Okay as I said before, my hunch on who talked to the Emperor to spread fake empyreal tokens was really YWY, I thought the man in Ep1 had different eyes compared to him so I didn't suspect him anymore but now it's confirmed welp ... He's like the giant enemy here, though I'm still more mad at FLX's family than him atm haha 🙂. - HCR : "Besides, HC is not my concern." My girl, it's too early to say that considering he is quite cunning too HAHAHA, and I think you both will make a good couple...👀
Ep21-22 were so fun and light-hearted, it's a fresh breath of air as we finally got a rest with those palace-scheming stuffs in Yongzhou. I hope we'll get more martial arts and romantic scenes, then explore more about BFX and her family in Qingzhou, she really should have more screentime by now as we already reached the 2nd half of the drama! (Still hoping for these even though the trailers weren't giving me hope...)
Based on the drama and how I understand it, suicide is a choice made by those who are more afraid of 'tomorrow' than of death, so their team is the one who helps those people not to kill themselves and have a hopeful 'tomorrow'.
It's amazing how this drama said most of the words suicidal or even just stressed/depressed people wanted to hear. Some scenes hitted me right on the spot. I know the show talks about sensitive topics, but for some reason it somehow became my comfort drama these days. Also good job for the whole cast and crew for keeping the momentum up til now, viewers' interest still keeps on growing.
So in Ep25 trailer, it looked like HFX really didn't know BFX's real identity ad FXY. Maybe when she was talking about where she saw the portraits and some infos about the past state lords before, he didn't really mind much of where she saw them as it's more important to pass Old Taiyin's test. Then when he talked about his past and how he've known FXY, she still continued to eat instead of attentively listening that's why he might've thought she wasn't interested to FXY's story with him.
The fact that I only had limited time to do my school works but still used so many time waiting for WRTW's next episodes... Yes cramming is only for school stuffs not dramas. 😂
There's a season 2? Because I was hella confused by the ending. So many unanswered questions
Yes, it was already a talk-of-the-MDL-users here before since the drama started airing that it will have 3 seasons hehe. I guess, or rather I'm hoping that the unanswered questions will be saved for the next season to build up a good story there.
Now we all know why Kanto Earthquake was presented in LMH's stand-alone episode in EP7! Also even though I already know the purpose of this drama from the first few episodes, I still like how they interviewed real Korean women who traveled to Japan during the colonial rule. Also, I really must applaud both YYJ and KMH for portraying their one character, I know they were different people but the attitude and even a bit of the way they talk are, if not the same, so close to each other. Plus I don't know much about this part of their history even though my country was also conquered by the Japanese that time, so I'd say the show is also informative - and it made me wonder if my grandparents also had a really tough time before. I'll look forward to the next season for all the remaining puzzle's pieces that are yet to be solved!
i think i missed out what happened to Noa! can sb tell me please?
Nothing happened to him atm, they haven't told us anything yet. Maybe in the next season of Pachinko, they'll explore more of the mother-son relationship of Sunja, Noa and Mozasu as that's what I've heard that's in the book.
Does anyone know if the OSTs are already in spotify? I can't find them since last time I checked until now T-T. Incase you had the link, please do share and let's stream the songs! Thank you. ~
