Although Tine went from being Mr. Chic to Mr. Weak over the course of two episodes I don’t see anyone saying…
I'm unsure if you were referring to my post??? If so, I apologize. I was merely making a point that the series was drifting down the stereotypical trail by changing Tine's character by having him take on more feminine characteristics and behaviors (without any history or reason for the sudden changes). And, my comment about the "bottoming" issue was not to speak for the LGBTQ+ community on this issue, but to expose a common trope/stereotype in many of these BLs. Therefore, I totally agree with you that everyone should just enjoy the series and stop the stereotypes.
BTW my younger brother is gay, and he's educated our family on many things we did not know about the LGBTQ+ community.

My interpretation was that Bohn wanted sweet, nice Duen back, since Duen has been very confrontational with Bohn…
Actually, I think a lot of us were thinking the same way. I just go without commenting about it. I agree with you. Had he said almost anything else, it probably would've been ok. lol But, then there was the scene in the car a little bit later in the ep. I just think Tri-Creation missed a good chance to make a quality ep vs just another BL with tropes.

P.S. Someone reminded me of the scene with Bohn and Duen in the car after Bohn tracked him to where Duen was meeting his cousin. The jealousy thing took hold of Bohn (yet again), when he promised Duen that he wouldn't do it anymore. The way Bohn grabbed Duen, forced him in his car, and pounced on him was NOT cool. This actually does underscore that at times their relationship is toxic, and that Bohn is a real douchebag of a boyfriend. But, yeah, luv will make people do some weird, even sometimes violent things. Although this is typical BL drama, unfortunately, this kind of stuff happens in real-life relationships, too.

Random but somewhat related side note—the kids referring to them as “mommy and daddy” is so cringey to me.…
I too think it's a little creepy !

Good point! Now, was Bohn a virgin? I thought I recalled in an earlier ep where he and the guy at the restaurant "kind of" stalked out guys? Or, am I in error again? lol

Interesting interpretation. I totally agree with you. I think that Bohn did want the sweet, nice Duen back. Unfortunately, in the scripted dialogue Bohn added that simple little part, "do whatever for me." AND, maybe you're right in that the eng sub translation didn't get the true meaning of what Bohn was saying. If so, I'm very glad to stand corrected. LOL

Okay, okay. I'm going to have to comment on this most recent episode. Although this series has its flaws, it was doing well with teaching good messages about gay relationships (remember the conversation that Mek had with Bohn about "top" or "bottom" not necessarily being what he thought). That was good. It showed a series willing to tackle that age old question in LGBTQ+ relationships. We thought that the character of Bohn was beginning to learn, especially when he and Duen are discussing what Bohn thought had happened the previous night. Bohn stated that he would "accept" whatever happened the previous night because he wanted to be with Duen. He then followed that statement with that they "could discuss their status (referring to top vs bottom) later. I was like OMG! Now, that's how a relationships should be! I thought that the writers and director was finally giving us a little taste of what it's like for a couple to behave better than the just the same old BL trope. Congrats!

AND THEN WE GET TO REST OF THAT SCENE! Bohn then follows up with "can I have the old Duen back, the one who will do whatever for me. I like him." This is then followed with the flashback or flash forward (I'm not really sure which) of Duen, Bohn, and their little brother and sister at the store -- "wanting Mummy and Daddy to go back to the way things were... and DUEN AGREEING TO DO IT!!!" And, in the span of just of a few minutes, the series went from being somewhat sophisticated in the way they treat gay relationships back to the same old hubby/wifey, seme/uke trope as other BLs. What a shame!

But, I still like the series and I have hope that in the last few episodes that it can get a little of that sophistication back. I know, I sometimes daydream too much... LOL

Like so many others, I liked scene 4 where Sarawat is finally telling Tine the truth about how they got together. That was actually cool. Now, as for the rest of the episode (1 - 3), I'm not so sure. The pacing was slow, the romance didn't feel like it was there. The trick P.Dim pulled was just silly (even if it was in the novel). I also don't like the way the series is portraying Tine. It starts out as stating that he's "Mr. Chic," and it seems that he becomes "Mr. Chick." The series increasingly seems to make Tine's character take on more "feminine" characteristics. I know again, that's the old common BL trope, a "straight" guy (who's supposedly into girls) becomes the "wifey" (and seems to always "bottom") for the "gay" guy. Just once, why couldn't it be the other way around in these BL's??? Oh, I forgot, then it might not be as successful a BL drama.... lmao!

P.S. I still luv this series though!

Personally this series is the BEST BL SERIES I've watched so far! The chemistry between them is incredible great,…
I agree with everything you posted except about TharnType. For me. that series had far too much rape, violence, and sexual assault. And, it still fascinates me that so many enjoy this kind of BL drama.
