I think the back-and-forth thing is kinda realistic.. if you look at it..Tine never liked a Man before so it would…
Interesting point! Okay, I could see that. But, you really don't think the series dragging the back-and-forth thing out sooooo much isn't making them look like high school kids?? Remember they're in university...right?

Although I like the series, I thought this ep., at least the the Tine/Sarawat parts was getting a little silly. I haven't read the novel. But, this back-and-forth, getting drunk and confessing and playing pranks on each other is now starting to get really old. The characters are acting like they are in high school, with all of this. The one character in this ep. that was not silly was Tine's friend explaining to him about how complicated jealousy and love can be. That was a great scene. Before, I thought that that director and producers had made Tine's character smarter than he appears in the novel. Now, it seems with this ep. and the parts of the last couple of ep.'s, Tine's character has all of a sudden turned naive, silly, and a little unbelievable to me. And the shame of it all is this, "Tine plays that character really, really well." And, the series is getting close to those same old tropish scenes, we've come to know and dislike (at least I dislike).
P.S. I also liked the flashback scene where Tine and Sarawat are in high school listening to Scrubb. I'd like to see more of that versus the silly back-and-forth pretenses, games, and tropish scenes.

I totally agree with you. I had similar thoughts in my post of a few days ago. It was my opinion that the director and producers may have changed Tine's character from the novel. I believe that there could possibly be a twist in Tin'e character in that he may playing the same game with Sarawat that Sarawat is playing with him. Otherwise, this allowing Sarawat to control him in this manner (including allowing Sarawat to constantly touch his hair -- which I understand in Thailand is ONLY done between those who are really close) wouldn't make sense.

Okay, okay. After watching this show, I'm not sure what is going one here?? I haven't read the novel, but it would appear that Tine's character is somewhat different from the novel (which is totally ok with me). LOL Most of the comments related to Tine and Sarawat basically say that Tine is oblivious to all the intentional "flirting" and "confessing" that Sarawat is doing. I disagree. I think the show has made Tine much more aware of Sarawat's feelings towards him. Throughout the past few episodes, were given bits and pieces of "odd" behavior from Tine that would lead you to believe that he's not clueless at all. This ep. is no exception. If Tine truly believed that he and Sarawat was "fake dating," why the need to agree to not flirt or chase a girl (Paer) for real? Or even be concerned if Sarawat finds out he's flirting with a girl? Why all the jokes about his and Sarawat's boobs? Why was Sarawat's jersey? Why allow only Sarawat to remove his cheerleading makeup?

Either Tine's character knows everything that's going with Sarawat, and he's just playing along (for whatever reason, such as secretely liking Sarawat back), or the writers and director of the series have erred with Tine's character and/or dialogue.

But, I still liked this ep. alot!

I'm sorry. But, in my opinion, this show HAS UP'D IT'S GAME with this ep. I LUV'D IT! It was cute, funny, sexy, romantic, and most of all, it showed two guys having a romantic weekend at the beach without any of the classic BL tropes! Also, it would have been nice to get at least an update on Sai/Zon...

I totally agree with Synchonicity about Frank and Drake's Our Skyy episode! In my opinion, that's what a true romcom should be. And, there were almost NO typical tropes or stereotypes in it either.

True... But, I'm still trying to get it around in MY head, why Tine is "teasing" Sarawat?? Think back to the discussions they had in Ep. 2 and Ep. 3 about "how to flirt" etc. , as well as how comfortable Tine was in Sarawat's room, even to the point of laying on his bed and "snuggling" up close to him while he played the song from Scrubb.

Actually, I like Saint's character of Tutor better than his character in either LBC or Reminders. His character seems so much stronger, confident, and crafty. Also, he's not as wimpy. He can be sly, sneaky or sexy, as he needs to be. A much better role , I think, than he had in LBC.

I felt Sarawat's heart crushing when Tine confessed he asked him to sing Everyday just to hit on Prae, poor Sarawat,…
I'm not so sure. I think that the director and producers may have thrown in a few twists to Tine's character than was in the book. I think Tine may not be as clueless as we are led to believe. He may be playing the same game on Sarawat. For instance, in Ep. 3, why would Tine ask Sarawat if he "could choose between him and a soap opera," and Ep. 4, Tine "offering to allow Sarawat to touch his boobs" in exchange for some snacks. Why would a guy say these things to another guy, even in jest??? Hmmmm!! Finally, why would Tine accept the "key" to the room of someone he's known only a very a short while and having only been to his room one time before!!! Double hmmmm!

I just want to say that I think Sotus S and Sotus set the standard for a really good BL drama. Neither series focused on all of the negative stereotypes and tropes typically seen in many other BL dramas. The story focused on two people trying and showing their love for one another in a society that is not always accepting. There were no overly intimate scenes thrown in to titillate the audience. Most of all, the show gave hope that two people who truly love and care for one another can weather any storm and be happy for as long as want. Although it doesn't have as high review rating as some other BL's, it's still the best in my opinon.

I really liked Ep. 8! It had all the makings a typical "feel good" romcom! No heavy drama this episode, as well as, some light-hearted "romantic" fun between Sarawat and Tine. It was really cool to see how Sarawat was trying (but not being too obvious) to confess his strong feelings for Tine -- and Tine still not yet getting it (but kind of getting it)! It was great! We need more of this! LMAO!

Yeah, and unfortunately, that's the commonality of all of these BL novels. Why do these writers think you can't have a good story without all of the stereotypes??? Or is it cultural? I'm not really sure?
