On Would You Marry Me? Oct 17, 2025
The plot, writing and directing is cliche, but Choi Wooshik is killing it! He's so funny! He matches this role. And Jung Somin is so pretty. Enjoying this drama!

No romance, right?
There's amazing chemistry. There's also a quite a few hints and semi-romantic situations and physical contact. IMO it's heavily implied, and there's more of those scenes than I expected.

If this isn't a "people assuming one gender interacting with the other gender meant a romance was blossoming"…
IMO James likes her, both as a partner/friend and as someone with qualities he admires and longs for, and romantically. He painted her and he gazed at her leaning on the tree. But this drama is realistic bc James isn't going throw away his 10 year plan for a budding crush. He's only known her for a few weeks. With more time, it could grow, but it won't bc their situation will end soon. Someone predicted James is going to take the fall for everything. I think that's a good prediction.

Title Walking on Thin Ice Spoiler
1. I loved the symbolism where Kim Young Kwang paints a portrait of Lee Young Ae, and ends up covering her in black water. It's obvious at this point that he likes her, such as the way he gazed at her hugging the tree. The fall foliage and the scene of them walking by the river was so beautiful. I love the directing, cinematography, and music.
2. When the stooge was murdered, I was like, "whoa!! I can't believe it went there!! There is no redeeming KYK after that. I like how ruthlessly dark this drama is." But when it was revealed KYK didn't kill him, I couldn't help feeling relieved. I like how this drama shows the heavy cost of crime, while balancing lightness.
3. I like Kim Young Kwang in a noona romance bc it shows his soft, vulnerable side, and also his cute side.
4. I like the symbolism of KYK having festering wounds. It symbolizes corruption and how things are rotting and falling apart underneath the surface. This drama is giving Breaking Bad moments of brilliance.

This is my first time watching Jeon Yeo Bin, and I'm blown away by her acting abilities! I'm now a big fan. And this drama is so good! It reminds me a bit of Adamas.

Look, anyone defending this mess clearly has zero clue what they’re defending. Koreans will riot over a hanbok…
Satan has been glorified, romanticized, etc many times, for example, the tv show Lucifer. But I agree we shouldn't make light of religion.

Their chemistry is insane. I love their Tom and Jerry bickering and her calm noona (big sis) energy and his annoying dongsaeng (little bro) energy. I love that they're slowly trusting each other and becoming partners. And these roles fit Lee Young Ae and Kim Young Kwang like a glove! This is the best role I've seen KYK in. He is dripping with charisma and sexy cat appeal (petty, standoffish, languid, dangerous). I also love the directing, like the hand holding scene was ✨ cinematic ✨. And things seem like they're gonna get dark 😬

Did you really believe gen z women has enough patience to understand husband feelings and intentions when their…
It's fiction... In revenge movies you root for the main character to murder their enemy, but you wouldn't support that in real life.

Is it just me, but does Lee Gyeong pay a bit more attention to the daughter in the first episode?
I think they're setting the stage for Lee Gyeong getting accused of favoritism or inappropriate behavior. My guess is that Lee Gyeong is going to get close or seem close to the daughter bc of her mom, and that will lead to misunderstandings and accusations.

Title My Youth
big fan of the secondary couple i need more of them!!!!
Same! Watching for them. Actually, I also enjoy Seokju's scenes with Jeyeon. I have a soft spot for Seokju, but Hae and Taerin's scenes are also enjoyable. For some reason, the main couple's chemistry is lacking something for me.

This is so overblown, especially the carpet. I can see how two out of three points might be annoying, but nothing to be outraged about. I'm watching this drama and it's anti-America. China is barely mentioned. Spoiler alert, but in the drama, America creates fake weapons of mass destruction to start a war with North Korea. America is the enemy, not China.

Title Tempest
I'm not taking any particular stand on the story of Tempest but the comparison with those Park Chan-wook films…
Yes, PCW is a genius. But I'm talking about the uniqueness of Jeong Seo Kyung's writing, which was sterilized to make something mainstream.

In my humble opinion, Little Women is top tier, while Tempest is above average. Absurd directions is on par for the course for many films/shows, including critically acclaimed ones. What matters is execution, which I think Little Women did well.

Streaming services have gotten top tier directors for tv shows, including Park Chan Wook with The Little Drummer Girl and The Sympathizer. TV shows can absolutely be as high quality as movies.
