I'm SCREAMING at the ending where he switches from formal speech to informal speech. Dayum, he came back in manly mode. I almost skipped this bc I thought it was a low budget web drama, but it has my beloved Shin Hyun Been! She elevates any drama. So far, this seems like a solid drama.

This is directed by the renown Ahn Pan Seok, who also directed Secret Love Affair, Something in the Rain (aka Pretty Noona Who Buys Me Food), White Tower, and many other critically acclaimed dramas. If you've watched his past works, you know that there is a high level of realism, which is why some may think his work is slow paced and depressing. I'm a fan of thrillers, and I didn't find this boring. It has that slow, steady drip of dread and tension that keeps you on the edge of your seat. It's my favorite work of Ahn Pan Seok.

So the reason this is called "The Pork Cutlets" is bc in Korea, boys get circumcised when they're around 9 years old. And moms would tell their sons, "let's go out to eat tonkatsu (pork cutlets)" to lull them into a false sense of security.
