I wonder how many times screenwriters honestly told super popular stars that they don't want to work with them…
It does happen! The most famous case I know is for the drama "Thrice Married Woman":
"Han Ga-in and Chun Jung-myung were initially considered for the cast (Han in the leading role of Oh Eun-soo) and even attended the read-through, but were later removed from consideration, reportedly by popular but demanding drama writer Kim Soo-hyun".
I'm loving this drama so much, especially Dansu and Gonghee's bickering friends-to-lovers relationship. I thought Dansu's mom might be Holly, but it turns out it it's Dansu.
It seems Dansu's mom and Poet Guy will get tied together, but I wish Gyungbok (the skinny sister-in-law) would end up with the Poet Guy. She (Yoon Bok-in) is an amazing actor that doesn't get the roles she deserves.
I appreciated how this drama showed the grandma and mother's relationship. It was very relatable and realistic. I also like the chemistry with the two leads. It's a hit in my book!
Also, I thought the father was going to be a pseudo-cheater, but I'm relieved it doesn't seem to be the case. I think the flower lady is the ML's lost mother.
I love this drama so much. There's so many praise worthy aspects, one of which is my girl Hyeyeon and her awesome character and acting. My fave Hyeyoon moment is when Hyeri starts dating Juyeon, and Hyeyoon's relatable reaction is like "dang, how does it feel to live my dreams". Also, the directing is great. You can see their craft and artistry. It turns out they've directed several dramas I've enjoyed (Lies Hidden in My Garden, Search: WWW).
Lastly, did Juyeon grasp Eunho's hand bc he noticed she was wearing his mom's ring and he thought Eunho might remember being Hyeri? I'm soo excited for Juyeon to meet Eunho!
This drama is SO good. The most moving parts of this episode are when her little sister disappears and her grandma dies.
I'm hoping Ju-yeon also falls for Eun-ho. And it will be interesting to see Hyeon-oh embrace Hyeri and help Eun-ho heal.
BUT the reason for Hyeon-oh's breakup was so cliche, and I predicted it as soon as I saw the grannies. It's deeply unsatisfying bc it makes no sense bc the grannies are chill af, and Eun-ho loved Hyeon-oh and would have helped him carry his burden. Eun-ho loved her own grandma and would have loved having a family. And how could they have dated for 8 years without meeting his family?
Agreed! Park Sang Nam looks too young to pair with Park Ha Na. Kim Sa Kwon looks better but he has always played…
I don't mind younger male leads, I just think Kim Sa Kwon is more attractive haha. Maybe I'll warm up to Park Sang Nam, but his hairstyle in the teaser is not helping at all.
I don't care if all the bad characters get forgiven, EXCEPT Nayoung. Nayoung must be punished. It feels like Nayoung might get forgiven. I think the perfect punishment would be for her to get divorced and lose custody of her child. I hope that happens.
Guys, no need to be upset about the kiss! It happened at the end of episode 7, so it’s totally normal that it…
Ooohh, what dramas did Kim Youngdae have good kiss scenes in? I've seen a couple of his past dramas, but I dropped them so I haven't seen any kiss scenes (Penthouse, Cheat On Me If You Can).
I haven't watched the newest episodes, but Han Ji Hyun (the romance author) is the cutest squishy dumpling! I can't believe she's the same person who played an unhinged villain in Penthouse. She's such an incredible actor!
What is Shin Hye Sun's bad luck with co-stars, lol. First Park Si Hoo, now Lee Jin Wook. I don't know the details of LJW's case, but aside from that, he's a mediocre actor in my humble opinion. I'm interested in watching this for Shin Hye Sun though.
While you're waiting for a new episode of No Gain No Love, I recommend watching Cinderella at 2am! It's another office noona romance comedy currently airing, with an amazing actress, Shin Hyun Been (Hospital Playlist). The male lead (Moon Sang Min) is a golden retriever that adores the female lead and also has a manly side (duality!). A unique part of this drama is that it starts with the female lead trying (and failing haha) to break up with her chaebol boyfriend bc she knows realistically the relationship will be difficult. There is also a second couple with the male lead's brother (Yoon Park and Sojin).

Hyeri is really growing on me, as well as her dynamic with Juyeon. This is going to hurt.
Roughly summarized version of their conversation:
Shin Hye Sun: If you never wanted marriage, why did you date me for 8 years? You should have broken up with me earlier. Now I'm almost 40.
Lee Jin Wook: Then let's not waste any more time and break up right now.
Shin Hye Sun: How can you break up so easily? We've dated for 8 years. Does that mean nothing to you?
Lee Jin Wook: Whether it's 8 seconds or 8 years, break ups are all the same. It's goodbye.
Shin Hye Sun: No, I'm sorry. I'll never bring up marriage again. Please don't break up with me.
Ugh, look at Shin Hye Sun SERVING emotions on a gold plate. Such a good actor!
