this is a kdrama the parents are supposed to be abusive
I get that, it's not the first time that I meet abusive parents in a k-drama (in fact it happened more often than I wished), but in this case it is really over the top for my taste and tolerance!
Really entertaining! Not too heavy, not too serious, not too makjang, not too realistic, but interesting, easy-going and funny enough, with good chemistry between the main leads.
Finally, a genuine romance drama with real people, realistic dialogues and every-day-life situations and a straightforward and intense love story with none of the typical 'accidental' and awkward clichés! Every aspect of this drama is top-notch (acting, music, cinematography, directing and editing) even in the little details, resulting in one of the most heartthrob, sizzling couples of this year.
Beautiful scenery and cinematography, so vivid that you could smell and taste everything... Natural acting from all three young actors, just a simple but so relaxing story.

Although the film is not everyone's taste, that one scene is a must see: it feels that he isn't acting, but living it for real... Of course I totally agree with you that 'Park Bo Gum is arguably one of the best crying actors out there'. [is the scene you added from 'Love in the Moonlight' or from 'Hello Monster'?] Some additions of mine would be: Lee Dong Gun in 'Queen for Seven Days', Yoo Ah In in 'The Throne', Kim Soo Hyun in 'Moon that Embraces the Sun', and Yoo Seung Ho, even from his child-acting times...
Excellent performances from all the cast members, especially from Kim Hyun Joo (hands down, she was simply amazing!), Ji Jin Hee (even though his character was childish and bickering most of the times, his acting was always on point), Gong Hyung Jin (one of the most decent evil characters), Na Young Hee (so effortless acting), and Lee Jae Yoon (so warm and kindhearted). Even though it was frustrating and repetitive sometimes, with a lot of back and forth (especially from the ML) and almost all types of melodrama clichés (typical for a 50 episodes drama), overall it was a well-written and delivered story.
OMG, even on the mountain, Jak Doo is still watching "The Great Seducer"!!! Is this an MBC (in)direct advertising of its 'hot potato' drama or what? In any case, I fully enjoy them both...
