Actually Xiaoyao only hesitated when she was asked about Tushan Jing she never say 'No'? Even though she thought she accepted in her mind that he was no longer going to be a part of her life, she could not outright refuse because she still had feelings for him in her heart.
But Ye Shiqi, the man who had nothing, she was ready to accept without any hesitation.

Since XL did not dare to ask with his own names, we will never know for sure what her answer would have been, but Xiangliu seemed to believe her answer would be TSJ.

Actually regarding this scene, what I found interesting was, Xiangliu had actually been unsure if Xiaoyao really didn't want to marry Fenglong.

The bug connection they had gave him access to her feelings but not her thoughts.

Probably like how TSJ had thought before that Fenglong or Fangfeng Bei was a good choice for her, Xiangliu also thought Fenglong would be suitable since TSJ is 'out' and he wasn't going to try anyway.

That's why he asked her if she wanted to marry Fenglong and he used his powers on her to get her to tell him the truth. That was probably when he realized, out of them all, only Tushan Jing realized what Xiaoyao was really thinking after all. He was the one who could tell XY was deeply unhappy.

I wonder if XL would have let XY marry Fenglong if TSJ did not approach him to stop the wedding. In the novel, he had two months to stop it.
Left to his own choice, would he have removed the bug connection as she requested?
( SPOILER Lets just say if he didn't it will become quite gross lol )

It was a confusing thing yes because Heng actually addressed her own mother as "Master". But the way the story progressed it was clear that she was the old King of Xiyan's daughter. That would appear to be a drama 'bug' where they changed something but it didn't follow through logically.

Heng is just the name she used to travel the world. Her surname is Xiyan. Cangxuan and Xiaoyao are cousins by blood, on his father's side.

Actually that change was really absurd, but since they went with it, we can also see it as, Xiaoyao was sending a clear sign to Xiangliu.
If you come for me, its for life. If its short term, don't come.

And as I mentioned in another previous post, at this point of time, XY was still just in a passive phase. She was waiting around only after she sent that globe/pill. She would not take another step to call XL to her.

She was waiting to see if XL would come save her from a life with Fenglong. Life with him would be more 'fun' than Fenglong since even she could tell that guy will have no time for her at all. But she didn't believe it will be right to choose XL, so she didn't dare to take another decisive step.
She was waiting for 'destiny' to make the decision for her, so if it turned out bad, she didn't have to blame herself for making the wrong choice.

I think her reason was just an excuse since she didn't want XL to hurt her again, but mixed with some sincerity. It was the same as she said she made the poison specially for him but she made it to defend against Ah Nian. She already said she thought they would never meet again so why would she prepare poison for him? But XL was too pleased at what she said, he didn't realize the logic error there.

The real reason she didn't want Xiangliu to touch her lips back then, was because she considered herself 'binded' to Jing already since she made him a promise and having another man touch her lips is considered as 'cheating' to her. She also dared to tell XL not to take blood from her neck. Normally XY is always scared of XL and won't dare to go against him, but for TSJ she was brave enough to speak her mind and maintain that line with him.

Which was why she was thinking about Jing again before she was going to take air from Xiangliu after her breakup. Xiangliu knew it too, that's why he really wanted to kiss her but he stopped. Even he don't want to become a consolation prize.

FFB's foundation was not strong enough yet when he made his offer to Xiaoyao who thought he was just kidding.

He didn't thank XL for 'letting him have XY' he only thanked him for sending her his way. Even Xiangliu also said, XY went to find Jing on her own, he had nothing to do with it. All he did was inform her about the truth that's all.

So you are saying he felt pain at that very moment to let her go, in order to get the pain to make her fall to the ground? Later when he watch her leave at the carriage, he seemed to already have made peace with that since he didn't look like he was in pain anymore...

Earlier in S1 Ep19 when he saw TSJ carrying Xiaoyao and how Xiaoyao was looking at TSJ fondly, his heartache then was because... he was jealous?

I still think its become heartbreak bugs and XL was suffering alone. That would actually make his decision to keep the bugs even more poignant since he was being hurt but he wanted to retain that connection for him to be able to help the Chenrong army.

Still I agree its not conclusive and maybe later episodes will show us more clues if they would even bother or just leave things vague.

No... for now the schedule is no eps on the weekend, and maaaybe 2 eps everyday from Mon-Thurs... however maybe depending on if the heat is falling during the weekend, tencent could suddenly change their minds... they really should give us at least 1 ep a day like back in S1... sigh..

I would say that TH took pains to make sure that we cannot doubt how much Xiaoyao loves TSJ.
Its easy for to be side-lined as a support character, and while TH could have been like : you got her, you win, just accept she loves you...

But no, TH would continue to write more scenarios so that Jing would eventually know just how deeply XY loves him as well... and we are here for it!

Cangxuan had some 'grand' reason about how the Haoling King had been responsible for the death of their uncle... who used to be his friend... It was all some bad unfinished business from the last generation.

To me I felt it was just a reason he told himself to justify his actions.
Perhaps its an ambition of his, he just wanted to unite the entire Dahuang under one rule... right now I am not sure if he did it so that Xiaoyao would have no place to run from him although its starting to look really likely.

I wonder why the fans seem to not comment about Xiangliu's heartache in the recent episode when he floored Xiaoyao with intense pain in the heart.
As we have all established, when one has heartache, the other will feel it through their connection.
XL has felt XY's heartache over TSJ over the years, but XY never felt anything from him, since he was the one in control of their connection.

And the story also established, heartache cannot be faked. Its not like they can take a hammer to the heart.

For Xiaoyao to have felt that searing pain, which the drama also showed XL barely managing to pretend everything was fine as he walked away, meant what XY felt was XL's heartache? They can't get the pain out of thin air right?
Which means their bugs have now turned into heartbreak bugs and he was the one suppressing it from his end, so XY was unaffected and unaware.

Seeing how painful it was for XY, heartbreak bugs can definitely kill a normal couple. If not for XL's high spirit power, both of them might actually be dying from the pain.

In that case, did the 'lovers bug' prove now that XY is not in love with XL?

So far I think the leaked script has proven to be 90% accurate ... even though some scenes had been completely changed...
One such scene was the recent yaojing scene where the two had a lovebirds moment looking into the distance instead of walking hand in hand down a snowy path...
both of which are fine choices so I have no issues with the change in the drama.

The song selected in the script was supposed to be Meet and Miss 相见相思 but they probably felt Heal 愈 was even more appropriate since now the two of them are both being healed by each other in their reunion and lovesickness is in the past.

This also made me think about how Xiaoyao loves Jing because he is 'good' not because he is 'there'.
She always takes Jing's words to heart and she would try to work on herself positively. One such example was back at the confession scene in the Dragonbone prison, where Jing told her that 'Love cannot be measured by interests.' When she met Xiangliu when her date got hijacked, she actually paraphrased that to him, when he asked why would she want to be good to Ah Nian. She said for the sake of her other family she was willing to take the first step to try to improve their relationship.

Another moment was better described in the novel but not seen in the drama since it was exposition, was when Xiaoliu was actually so angry at Cangxuan and Ah Nian that she was planning to kill them when they got to the clinic. She told Shiqi that she had killed before but he did not seem revulsed by that information. When he agreed to help her, her mood actually lifted and she 'didn't feel much like killing after all.'

Everyone is damaged in LYF but not everyone eventually finds that special someone.

Here's what might be an unpopular question but do you think Cangxuan could have become King of Xiyan without Xiaoyao's help?

Personally I don't think so... he seemed way too behind in the Dahuang game of thrones, desperately lacking in foundation and connections compared to his uncles.
Even though his grandfather seemed to have intention to pass the throne to him, he first had to show Grandpa he had what it would take to keep the throne and not get overthrown in a month.

Not only did Xiaoyao protect him physically from assassination attempts when Xiangliu tried to kill him, through Xiaoyao, he got Tushan Jing's financial and networking support for his 'campaign'.

So yeah I think CX probably might not have managed to be King of Xiyan without her help...
But who knows, if Xiaoyao never went back into his life, maybe he would have another way to go about it...

Random lines from twitter that I find really beautiful and made me think of poor slandered Tushan Jing whom some bitter fans have taken to call a 'stalker'.

Since, Xiaoyao, the apple of Tushan Jing's eye absolutely loves him being clingy, I think they are a great pairing.

I am really enjoying this series! While its pretty slowburn and not as dramatic as The Double, this series actually is really grounded in reality, with proper investigation procedures taking actual time, and the way they handle the complexities of every relationship is sooo good...

I only wonder why it didn't seem to be able to 'explode' in popularity because the acting is actually good overall... maybe its the chemistry of the leads not what the C netizens prefer... what a shame because it is already heading into the last arc and the story is still as exciting and didn't fizzle out.

Ah no, Cangxuan's mother is from the Ruomu clan.
That is why Xiaoyao is royalty in Xiyan as her mother is the princess of Xiyan.
The drama did make things confusing when they had her call her own mother 'Master' in Ep1... like...why?? LOL

Jing knew but it was already done and I think he didn't tell Xiaoyao since it would only hurt her. She was already very saddened that her brother was going to war with someone she loved all her life as a father.
