Title Why R U? Spoiler
can someone tell me what Tutor meant when he wanted to "show his ownership"? did he top Fighter?
I stay strong with my opinion he topped, since in novel they switch too. And in the interview they talked about being "two-way" couple which basically means they switch
Edit: apparently they don't switch in novel. I'm still convinced they do in the show tho :)

Review Why R U?
You did a great review which I agree to almost everything. However, the good part as you say - the strong message…
the message is strong compared to other BLs. Even if it's just the last few eps, it still was clear and far more straightforward than we usually see.
Someone homophobic will not watch any movie/show with gat characters. That does not change the fact the message is there. And while it won't change the mind of a homophobic person coz they will never see it, it makes people who want to promote this message feel better. The talk Fighter had with his dad made me feel proud for the character and good about the message. Not all messages need to change minds, some can just make the viewers feel better. At least that's how I see it :)

Review Why R U? Spoiler
One of the most insightful reviews I've read on here. Your analysis of Zee's acting and Fighter's character is…
I was so amazingly invested in Fighter's character and in awe with Zee's acting I've been writing essays about it both in comment section and on feeds haha One of the things I hate the most is overacting, and Zee was so subtle jest clear about the message he wants to send through his acting. Truly could not ask for more.

As for Zon and Saifah: filling the gaps is not something viewers should have to do to enjoy the story and get invested in characters. I don't think they even had to add a lot to make the progression more smooth. Give 30 seconds conversation between Zon and Saint about Zon's conflicted feelings. After that seeing Zon relax more around Saifah would make much more sense. I actually loved Zon and Saifah after they got closer. They were so cute and sweet. I just wish we've got more.

As for the rest of the cast... well..they all should be left as just supporting characters and not have romantic plot-line of their own. Didn't want to write about it in the review coz it would be a spoiler but why and how Hwahwa ended with Day just annoyed me so much.

Anyway, thank you for the nice words about the review. I've been working on it since around episode 3 came out hahaha

Review Why R U?
Great review! I agree with almost everything you said. Zon and Saifah were actually the ship I first heard of…
Honestly, if they dropped some side characters (like Blue and the team... They did not really connect to the main plot and main characters at all) and used that screen time for Zon and Saifah... They would be as good of a couple as FighTor. More sweet and cute but just as enjoyable... Coz the plot for them was nice, the cast had great chemistry. All they needed was more time to show it

As you said yourself, despite being biased in the rating, you were very objective in the review. I agree with…
I mean... I'm biased but not blind. This drama had a lot of problems with pacing, editing and screen time ratio even before the covid-19 happened.
I love it for the reasons stated, but I don't want to lie to people saying it's the best show ever. Stating the problems is the only fair way of appreciating the drama. So when someone decides to watch it, they will know what they are getting themselves into :)

Same honestly. I partly read your review - it is great and I agree with pretty much everything. The chemistry…
the review is scary long. I wrote it more for myself to remember all the feelings I had while watching tbh. I just invested so much into this show... what is friday without Why R U? hahaha

After posting the review I feel so empty.
Gosh I will miss this show, even with how messy it was at times.
I just got too attached to these characters.

true... but I literally cannot imagine how they would fill 2 episodes of just the beach scenes (since Saint said the last episode takes place on the beach). It would be the 9&10 episode all over the place and it would be a bad idea.
anyway, I'm confused, I guess we will see this Fiday

I've checked. U are right. The statement says 14 eps. But then i have no idea why the whole twitter (including the cast) acts as if the last eps airs this friday. Also, if this is not the last, it means we are getting 2 beaches episodes again...

No one knows the ending, but the novel have a sad one. BUT what we know they changed the ending in the show and it does not follow the one that was in the novel. So basically no one knows anything.

What if the writer leaves the last page blank? It came into my mind, when i was thinking about the ending and…
leaving last page blank would work but only if ALL characters were self aware. If not, then it would be like being stuck in a loop of diving the same day over and over again for the ones that are aware. Since all the people around them would not have a story written for them and would kind of work on auto-pilot. Saying same lines and doing the same thing. Which sounds more like a horror story than a happy ending hahahaha

I mean... how high of an expectation can I have when we have sexual assault in first 5 minutes and them going full rape-ish? the bar it set LOW with this one
War is doing a good job tho and I must say the production value (especially editing) improved compared to Tossara (which I dropped coz I could not stand the editing).

You should probably put this as a spoiler
sure, tho honestly not much point in hiding it since everyone talks about what happened in episode 11 in comment section without using spoiler tag.

I relate so bad. I'm still not really an article writer (definitely prefer to write reviews) but I did enjoy the ones I did and co-wrote.
The first article I wrote was simply my take on Extraordinary You ending, coz I found it so amazingly tragic but I saw a lot of people saying it's a happy ending. Just wanted to show a different point of view. And it was a lot of fun. Planning what I want to write, but to separate different sections, editing and the layout of.
I hope with your article more people will be brave enough to write something themselves :)

I appreciate your view point. I see quite a few people saying Tutor should have just talked to Fighter and tell…
Nah I get what you mean. It would make the scene and the break up less tropy for sure. But I think it could make it hard to keep the scene short. Coz knowing the reason (evil dad) Fighter would not give up so easily. So the scene would be far longer and might drag. I believe the only reason Fighter agreed to the break up was coz he didn't know the reason but be believed it was bad enough to make Tutor miserable, and he didn't want that. If Tutor said F's dad is a dick so I want to break up, F would be like: you f kiddin me right? I just feel like it would be harder to build the scene IF Fighter knew.
But then... we all have different interpretations and expectations. I wouldn't mind Tutor saying Fighter about the dad, but I just think it would make it harder to write and film the scene hahaha it's more on the technical and less of the "emotional" side.

Title Why R U? Spoiler
I'm spamming comment section, but I don't care lol I'm just fascinated the more I read people's interpretations of the events from 11th ep. Basically how I see it there are 3 types of people:
1. Writing sucks, they went full cliche "breaking coz of the parent", Tutor is an idiot and him not talking to Fighter and just giving up makes no sense. Basically Tutor sucks.
2. The break up made perfect sense. Tutor has had enough, hit the breaking point. He has no strength left to fight for anything. That's why he breaks up with Fighter. Awesome writing and perfectly in line with how the character was written so far.
3. The break up make sense. Tutor is a dumb ass but he is strong in what he is doing. He wants to take the whole hit of Fighter's dad shitty behavior himself and does not want to ruin Fighter's relationship with his dad and burden the guy he loves even a little bit. He did what he though was best.

Same show, same episode, same scene and yet we all see it in such a different light. Fun :)

I was honestly so annoyed with people hating on Tutor I wrote a whole essay about it lol I feel like majority…
Look at that, I have all that Tutor has, and still have suicidal thoughts. More often than not the personal happiness is not based on the external factors but the internal interpretation of them. As I said, from what was shown in the drama and from what Tutor said in the break up scene, he put way too much pressure on himself to be strong, perfect, helpful, mature. We saw him crying over the lost part time job, or when few people he was tutoring had to quit. How se cried but still said it will pass and he can get through it. How he did not ask ANY of the people around him for help. That's why I think he is not doing well emotionally. Coz in situations like that people not be building these thoughts up, knowing well that they have people around them willing to help, they would call for that help. But Tutor doesn't. For me it was clear that he is "the giver" that wants everyone around him to be happy but forgets about his own well being in the process. But everyone has their breaking point. And what happened after they came back from the beach trip was the breaking point. We can all interpret characters differently. I see how Tutor was not that strong person and I'm not the only one who thinks that. You can not see it and it's also fine.
That said, there is a reason everyone is always so surprised after someone's commit suicide and we keep hearing how they had amazing family, well paid job, supporting friends and there was not reason from them to do that.

You can have the most supporting family and no "big problems" in your life and still be emotionally broken and exhausted. Do I think he put a lot of pressure on himself which led to him breaking down like that: yes. Does not change the fact we could see throughout the drama how he was slowly breaking down and simply tired. You don't need to be slammed on the face with information and everything does not need to be explain with clear narration to see more in the character. We can see that he struggles admitting his weaknesses and always want to deal with all the problems himself.
Sure, if you just watch and do not analyze what you see, everyone will be just a puppet to progress the story. For me he is well written character and all his behaviors make sense.
I don't know how much of it was a good writing and how was just luck and accident, but the end result for me is: both Tutor and Fighter are well written and interesting characters.
