Lets crush hearts, shall we?

Story 8/10 : Why? Because its a remake of HYD, any lower score and I would be hurting one my favorite drama's pride. There isnt much to it, rich boy falls in love with poor girl, quirky adventures along the way, yeah, things of that matter.

Acting/Cast 3/10 : UGH! From the very second the girl lead began to speak, I hated her. They portrayed her as some annoying girl and I honestly didn't like that. And F4? Fine, Korean BoF has a little bit better eye candy than HYD, but their acting is just flat out boring. The only part they did well was showing that they were spoiled rich boys.

Music 5/10 - meh.

Rewatch 3/10 - No... just no. If you want to spend over 25 hours watching this drama, I suggest that you do something productive as a replacement of this drama.

Overall 4/10 - Normally, I give Korean dramas multiple episodes to draw me in, but I couldn't just bear myself to listen to the main leads whiny voice and sit there staring at LMH for a full hour. The order of viewing SHOULD be J version then K version. I gave BoF a chance because of my love for HYD but I can't taint my memory of something so wonderful with BoF.

my opinion

This show is sooo good. I have been in a cdrama slump for so many months bc they weren’t any good ones to watch but when is came out I got out of it! the acting is amazing and the story too, also the music in some scenes is so good. I’m super excited to see how this story will continue I recommend watch it 100%
I hope her revenge is good and I hope that they get together at the end, it’s so sad to see what she was went through and what she will go though I hope she gets justice and lives happily bc she deserves it!!!!!!!

Started so good, but they got lost in the story

Overall the acting is good from most characters but the story got progressively worse. I like the time travel aspect, but after the first episodes they tried to much and the time travel and the actions of both leads didn't make sense anymore. The music was great. Just to list two points I found unfortunate:
- A majority of the story played with the characters in highschool and for me the actors are just to old to play highschoolers. At least college student or more of the story in the present instead of the past would've been more fitting.
- Another point I thought was unfortunate that the female lead had a disability in the beginning which I found so good and made here character more complex but that part just got erased in the time travel and never got picked up again, besides the fl remembering everything else just that part she and the writers completely ignored.

Absorbing & intense 500 minute road movie. A taxi ride to a soul´s nowhere. Brilliant from A-Z.

For me, “A Bloody Lucky Day” is one of the KDrama highlights of 2023.

It is a psychological thriller. Without makeup. Set in a fairly grounded, solid, authentic everyday world, which gets challenged by a maniac´s incredible psychological logic. Stirring. Brilliant from A-Z.

However, everything revolves around the abysmal work of a psychopath. Accordingly, things get mercilessly brutal at times. The cumbersome police don't come off so well. Common sense, on the other hand, does... when it is in fact emotionally cornered to the extreme, so that it can no longer help but function at full speed, without distraction whatsoever.
One-pointed concentration, already having lost too much, getting your teeth into it and being ready to go to extremes – could that be the recipe to counteract the psychopathic 'monster'? Could... Maybe... Or not... Or is it?

“A Bloody Lucky Day” could be considered an absorbing ca. 500 minutes long road movie - a taxi ride to a soul´s nowhere. For the poor taxi driver a rather involuntary participant observation study on a psychopathic killer...

Emotionally highly explosive. Intense. Acting is first league. As a I mentioned earlier, a brilliant production from A to Z.

It did not service my expectations :(

Doom at your service was pretty much one of my most anticipated dramas of this year. After finding out there was a killer cast and an intriguing synopsis I was excited to start this drama.

The beginning episodes made me realise that this was a very slow paced drama, which i did not mind as I did seem to really enjoy the first few episodes. There were many cute moments and it kept you pretty engaged. However, around ep4 it started to dwindle and become draggy. I became disinterested and disconnected to the story as it felt like nothing much was happening anymore.

I just feel like after the couple got together there was just no more excitement anymore. There was nothing new happening. It just felt dry. The plot just felt like it was going in circles with no direction. There were like a good few scenes in-between but it wasn't engaging enough for me to carry on. I debated whether I should just drop this drama. Regardless, I still gave it a chance every week in hope that it will get better but it was just so boring for me. I just felt it was such a shame because the plot has so much potential and the casts acting was amazing. Not to mention how the cinematography was also so beautiful.

However, after watching ep 11-12 I feel like the drama is slowly redeeming itself. Although I initially thought I would be disappointed with them using the amnesia trope, I infact think it made the drama kinda interesting to watch again. Idk, I just felt like the characters have brought back the charm they had in the beginning. I do think it got boring again somewhere around ep 14-15. I do think they wrapped up things generally well in the last episode.

In regards to the second leads story, I felt like at some point I became more interested in their storyline than the main leads. I do feel that it does feels like a separate drama, but I'm regardless enjoying it. I do hope that Na Ji Na gets together with Cha Joo Ik.

Overall, I don't think this is a complete rubbish drama but it's not quite a masterpiece either. I just felt the storyline could've been executed much better.
I do believe it was unnecessary for this to be 16 episodes long and could have done better if it had a shorter amount of episodes to reduce the dragginess. Despite that I feel like there were no flaws with the acting and the cinematography. Seo in Guk is very charming with the way he portrays Myul Mang and I just love Park Bo Youngs acting. I really do think they portrayed their characters so well. It's just the plot that's lacking and disappointing.

Will I rewatch it again? No. I don't think it's worth the rewatch. I feel like I've struggled to even make it past the halfway mark. Though I do feel like the recent episodes were much better. I don't think I'll be able to rewatch it again.

A Bloodthirsty Journey Down The Rabbit Hole...

“Alice In Borderland” is one of this shows which (judging from what you’ve probably read by previous reviews), attracts typically three main audience types; diehard fans of the original manga, J-drama fans of either particular cast members and a minority of “ casual” drama watchers who have either stumbled upon the drama during a search or have just been recommended it. For those in the former category, it’s fair to say the biggest question which should be raised is if the first season of Alice In Borderland is actually worth watching, or if it is simply a waste of time.

As you can probably guess from the mention of this drama being a “ first season”, it’s wrong to entirely claim that some of the show’s flaws won’t be fixed in later episodes , however, there are a couple of notable reoccurring themes , inconsistencies and problems which should be mentioned to anyone considering watching this first season. As an idea the show is both intriguing, disturbing and undeniably quite ingenious throughout some of its storyline . From “ Liar- Game” and “ Battle- Royale” -style puzzles and fights , plot twists to the notable name references from Lewis Carroll’s surrealistic classic “ Alice In Wonderland” ( Arisu of course being “ Alice” as our protagonist ), there is of course a notable array of reoccurring and intriguing characters introduced into the show who all play intriguing roles . In particular these include; a mysterious girl and mountain climber called Usagi , the taciturn and conniving Shuntarō Chishiya ( Nijiro Muramaki) and his accomplice Hikari Kuina ( Aya Asahina ) as well as strong militant fighter Aguni Morizono ( Sho Aoyagi).

It should be said , however, that the acting in the show is bit of a mixed-bag .Whilst Kento Yamazaki ( Todome No Kiss and Death Note-2015) is undeniably a fairly good actor, there’s no sugarcoating that his performance as our main protagonist Arisu was a little lacklustre to say the least , with several scenes throughout episodes of fairly generic line deliverance . Similarly whilst Tao Tsuchiya ( Mare, Orange) wasn’t bad as our female protagonist Usagi, her performance was a little questionable in consideration to her fame as a fairly renowned actress. Perhaps the one role which was certainly well-performed in the show and must be given some praise to is Nijiro Muramaki’s (Anohana; The Flower We Saw That Day-2015 , and The Isle of Dogs) roel as the intelligent, mysterious and conniving player Shuntarō Chishiya ; a character who against all odds is more likeable than the male lead.

By all default Arisu had all the right traits of being both a likeable and deep male lead; a traumatic past with his family, experiencing loss and loneliness, intellectual and undeniably socially-awkward at times as well gave boundless opportunities for character growth . Sadly, the biggest issue with Arisu’s characterisation was that against all the action and bloodthirsty moments of the series, there was little time provided for us as viewers to either reflect or see Arisu being able to contemplate these moments both through his interactions with other characters and through his own doubts as well. Whilst it can be argued that Arisu’s poor character depth was a it consequence of the show “ running out of time” than anything else, there is still the notable presence of minor well-written characters such as Kuina and Aguni who actually have quite good character depth, interesting pasts and are fairly three-dimensional in comparison.

This resulted in Arisu often coming off as a notable plot device in the series rather than an actual character; impassive to certain events and only really having the “ driven- angst” when it was necessary for a plot event rather than allowing Arisu to be a likeable male lead.

The ending was undeniably open. This is naturally because the show will receive a second season and allows the plot to extend outwards, however, there were several notable flaws in this first season alone from acting abilities, a fairly lacklustre OST and even our main protagonist’s depth which will probably need to be smoothed out or at least focused upon going forwards. Overall, the first season of Alice In Wonderland was far from a masterpiece ( in addition to some questionable CGI as well) , however, nonetheless it was a fairly thrilling journey down the rabbit hole into a bloodthirsty Wonderland ; undeniably ridiculous at times, but surprisingly a fun ride.

Overall, this show is pretty mediocre and kind of cute. It is lighthearted and funny but also deals with complicated issues in a sensitive manner. The plot is simple and the pace slow but not too slow, with a few flashbacks here and there it is not repetitive, rather a bit dull. Like the drama laws go, the first half of the show has a faster pace and more comedy but, as it often happens, the pace slows and slows. Episodes 11-16 feel like they could have been compressed into just a few episodes and that way the show could have been way more enjoyable. The past memories are revealed in a nice way, one at a time throughout the show, so there is always something to look forward to. In the end, all questions are answered and no loose ends are left.

The acting is okay. Ha No Ra seems annoying at first, but you get used to her really fast as the story moves on. Hyeon Seok seems really arrogant at first, he pulls and pushes No Ra the way he wants and that made me cringe a bit. I'm not a hardened feminist and don't usually pay much attention to these kind of things in Kdramas but Hyeon Seok... Yeah. In my opinion, the chemistry between the main characters is better in the first half of the show, then it dulls a bit.

The side characters remain vague throughout the show which is a big minus. But an interesting thing is that "the bad guys" are portrayed very human, they are just people who made selfish mistakes in the past. They realize what they have done, regret and are given a second chance.

This show could have been way better with just a few little changes in the plot. All in all, it's a pretty usual Kdrama with the usual Kdrama things in it, some things are not highlighted that much (such as love rivals) and that's a relief, it makes the show more realistic. That's a real good thing about this show, it's pretty realistic.

A light-hearted drama!

I'm not usually a fan of romance dramas, and I prefer heavier dramas. That being said this was a very light hearted drama and nice change of pace.

Overall I enjoyed watching the drama (the female lead got on my nerves a couple of times, but her character would redeam herself by the end of the episode - at least for my tastes). The other three lead characters were enjoyable to watch and their characters were interesting and engaging. Overall, everyones acting was very good, there were just some character flaws/traits in Ji-eun's character that irked me.

If you want a drama, that has minimal drama in it and just want a light hearted romance story, this is the drama for you.

These are simply my thoughts about the main characters and the drama overall...
I LOVED IT...sincerely I loved every minute of it...the the Idea of revenge in itself isn't something new but still the plot was tight and I felt hocked to the story...
I was already a fan for writer Lee's dramas "Sang Doo let's go to school, Sorry I love you...
So I prepared myself for something full of emotions that will make me shed tears and I wasn't disappointed...
the truth is that it was a lot more better than what I expected it to be ^^...
Kang Ma Roo:
I was in love with that character it seemed a bit "stupid" for me it resembled Love more than revenge...and after few eps I started understanding it more...he was in love with Jea Hee and he understood her more than any one else he knew what she passed through during her childhood...
Ma Roo always protected Jae Hee since they were children he believed she was the Love of his life...every dream he from his childhood included her and he couldn't make anyone else take her place in his heart...Until he met Eun Gi...
even though it was supposed to be for revenge...it really wasn't like that because all what Ma Roo really wanted was to have Jae Hee back...
the story goes on and some bad events happen and that makes Ma Roo carries some feelings - out of guilt - for Eun Gi that sooner turns into Love that he will be ready to give his life for her and prays that he dies and then in another new life they would fall in Love again like normal people.
**one last thing to mention is that Song Joong Ki proved that he is a brilliant actor and not just a handsome face by playing that complicated character that good (that review is not full)

Usually I steer well clear from medical dramas themed dramas. They always start off well and then I get bored around the 6th episode. However, I was told by others that Yongpal is not strictly speaking a 'medical' drama but one that was more about revenge. So I decided to give it a go. Instantly I was sucked into a world of revenge, power, chaebols, crimes and a side of doctor drama. At first I loved it, it was different to what I usually watched and it had a lot of action and the story was unique. It was intense and had me on the edge of my seat.

Over time the writers seemed to have lost what the story was supposed to be about. From about the 6th episode things started going downhill and instead the drama started taking a new direction. Which is fine if you create an appropriate set up to do this. But this never happened, it felt as though the first couple of episodes was spent setting an amazing scene for the drama and after a while the writer were like "hmm nah". Which is a shame because the first episodes were the best ones. It was clean and slick and the story was there.

In terms of characters and cast, Joo Won was essentially carrying this drama. This drama highlighted why he is such an amazing actor. Every emotion that passed on his face was resonated in his body language and tone of voice. You found yourself rooting for this doctor who looked at patients as though they were bags of money from the very first episode. My only experience of watching Joo Won was in Ojakgyo Brothers (which he was amazing in) and so went in having high expectations in his acting. He made a great doctor, was very charismatic and had that loveable rogue feel. My only criticism was that towards the end he became slightly meek and I found myself expecting more from him. However I'll pin this on the writers, not on Joo Won.

Kim Tae Hee on the other hand was a bit of a mixed bag for me. When she had her whole revenge/cold thing going on her acting seemed to be okay. Her acting wasn't consistent enough for me to think she was an amazing actress and at times she was slightly lukewarm. The chemistry between Yeojin and Taehyun was lovely and sweet and made me smile. The director made the kiss scenes look beautiful.

I really enjoyed the music in this drama and the soundtrack really brought out the emotions. My favourite one would definitely be Nightmare- Yong Junghyun (BEAST) and Heo Ga Yoon (4 minute). Ga Yoons voice sounded beautiful in this song and she has a lovely tone.

Overall, Yongpal started off strong with Joo Won displaying his amazing acting skills. The initial episodes and set up was amazing and left me wanting more. Eventually the strong start fizzled out with only a scattering of 'edge of the seat' moments in the drama.

Wolf in sheep skin and sheep in wolf's skin

THIS WAS A DRAMA I WAS ANTICIPATING! MAJOR LETDOWN ! whyyy.. did they only make it 10 minutes long for each episode.... It made it so the drama was kinda choppy. This is more ranting than review...

1) They trick us in thinking the female lead was smart.. In fact she is stupid and useless. She doesnt even know who the real culprit is behind her family's killing. She thinks its the male lead and tries to kill him countless times. She believes in random evidence framing male lead.
2) The evil character overshadowed. He was too crazy and sinister. They gave him too much limelight. Some scenes went over...
3) They portray the male lead as cold and ruthless, overbearing. He did so much for the female lead and loved her. He never explained himself... or his actions behind it
4) They gave soooooo little time for the leads to develop a relationship ( well maybe because it was based off hate) but then its like she suddenly fell in love.

The only plus was the male lead. He is such eye candy and has a hot bod! haha please cast him in more lead roles!

This series has blown my mind by how close it has come to the reality. Just binge it.

I went into this show for a normal korean highschool genre but what I got is way beyond I could have imagine. I directly watched it without synopsis and trailer and yes it has just blown my mind.

Many K dramas have touched the subject of bullying but none were like this.

This show has gone to the depth of the reality. This shows depicts what happen when one does not give in to the bullying. What happens when one actually fights back.

This show puts forward two aspects of friendship. The one where you can give your life for your friend. And the one where you can also take life of your friend.

MUST WATCH !!!!!!!!!

POV - Binge it.

Just right on the episodes, thank goodness! This drama followed the footsteps of fantasy /rom of MS yet with a more backstories & younger actors. The chemistry between leads was heartfelt (often missed in kdrama land). The lead female did well portraying two personalities on screen effectively. While the male lead was just cute to watch growing up. The side stories sometimes were like gnats flying around fruit yet they filled space & storyline. The last two eps felt rushed with a glut of explaining the real purpose of the 100 yr love, and curse of destiny. Lots of holes in the story yet we got a nice soft landing on this drama. This was easy to watch & re-watch if you keep your expectations in check and want a story with a soft-predictable landing.

Friendly Revenge and Light Slap/Kiss and Rape Free

First of all I didn't expect any or more about this Drama cause many Ch7 Lakorn disappointed me with their Naive and Weak Female Lead so I am kinda surprised about this one cause I feel like I'm watching Jeerawat in Kluen Cheewit. I enjoyed this type of Drama and I'm a fan of Revenge.

Most Cheesiest Lakorn that I watched
Lol. It becomes cheesy on Episode 13 and It's okay cause I don't like how they cut the Romance on the past few Episodes like Palai's Imagination and it was very annoying. It was Okay if it's only twice but her imagination is very repetitive.

STORY (☞ ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)☞ Palai is a weak and naive girl who really loves her Parents until the Accident happens and change everything. She discovered that her Aunt was not sincere and causes her Parents to die. She becomes Strong and Vengeful person in order to take Revenge. The Story messed up with some Marriage stuff. They keep pushing Jan and Siwa to get married from the Start till the end even they already know that Siwa is married with Palai by law.

ACTING/CAST (☞ ಠ_ಠ)☞ The Acting is very good and they're just newbies. Bank's crying scenes was very amazing and I can see his improvement 5 years ago on Cubic. Pinkploy was very great also and she's not your typical newbie but have to say that She needs improvement on speaking she's talking very fast. The Supporting Actors did a great job especially Great(Thana). And my Favorite Senior Villain is here.

MUSIC (☞ ^ o ^) ☞ The Music isn't that special on the beginning but you will used to it and I did like it. I actually remember some lines or words in the Musics.

REWATCH VALUE (☞ ̄ᴥ ̄)☞ I don't like Rewatching a Drama especially if it's a Revenge about Family and it was quite boring and draggy at some point so Yeah First time watching it is enough.

OVERALL (╭☞•́⍛•̀)╭☞ I think it was good enough to be produced and to have an remake I love it Overall. I will score it higher if it didn't mess up on the second half and if it didn't bored me to death. If you're planning to watch this then go just don't expect for something special in a Revenge Lakorn but expect for the great Chemistry between the Leads.
