The drama is full of fluffs and the romance between the leads are told without any pettiness. Their love wasn't one sided but balanced as they both willing to sacrifice for each other so we understood their deep love towards each other.

The plot is interesting and fast-paced and the scripts is very simple without over dragging so everything is solved very fast without many heartaches. I really love the first half of the drama since it was hilarious and exciting but the 2nd part couldn't match up the first half unfortunately. But it’s still very watchable and the writers gave us a satisfactory ending.

Aside from that, this drama is pure romance through and through and for once, a married couple who actually behave like a true married couple in love with lots of hugs and kisses. :D The plot centered around the canopy bed but tbh, the only magical thing about the bed is that it increased the lust of people who sleep on it to 9586583% lol

Liang Jie is really good in this dual role as Xiao Tan is both hilarious and shameless so its very enjoyable to watch all her antics since girlie know how to take care of herself while Tan Er is frustrating as a character but very refined and elegant as a lady.

Xing Zhaolin as Mo Lian Cheng is my fave character in this drama as he is full of tease and most of his comments are sharp and savage. I personally didn't find him very handsome but his confidence, intelligent and boldness really make him very attractive. Both Xiao Tan & Lian Cheng have very different personalities but somehow, they matched up with each other to the T as it seemed only Lian Cheng could tame the rather wild Xiao Tan.

In conclusion, this is a good and happy romance drama if you want to have a good time. The very simple plot and script wouldn't make your head spinning and the chemistry between the leads are mesmerizing. Sometimes, you just want to watch a good romance drama that is not tragic or frustrating and this drama is exactly that.

Worth watching

Honestly, I didn't read the summary of this one. I just saw the title and thought "it sounds kind of cool," watched and was not disappointed. I was surprised at what general met in the bridal chamber & half laughed in shock. The beginning feels a bit rushed, but the cast has great chemistry. Kathy Chow & Mark Du both portrayed their characters really well. I wouldn't have minded if this was a series and then we'd get to see if Princess Wang Xuan could find a solution - defy the odds girl! Don't know what I mean? Watch it & see. <3

I'm Speechless! What was the hell is that?

In short: Anyone who can cope with brutal violence, should watch this series immediately, don't wait even a second!!!

In long: I came just as I finished the series and I don't even know how to start. I might make a typo, sorry in advance.

First of all, I want all the applause to go to Park Jihoon and Choi Hyun Wook. they deserve such a big round of applause... they were both the most talented young actors I've seen lately. They made me hold my breath for 8 episodes and lose my mind while watching the friendship they portrayed with their magnificent acting.
Edit: I just learned that Park Jihoon is an idol and also he has a very cute face card and cute idol persona in real life, i can't believe that he is the same person who plays that Si Eun character in this drama. lol. he is an amazing actor.

Then I want to add the following. first of all, this drama is definitely a heavy drama in terms of display of violence, just like "the king of pigs". So if brutal violence is too much for you, please don't watch it.

The second thing I would like to add is that this series did not actually contain any public service ads. that is, it actually involved real life. It contained everything that could happen in real life. what we are normally told, when bullied go and complain, make sure the authorities will protect you. but no, neither parent, nor teacher, nor police… none of them will try to save you. No one will care about you like no one cares about si eun and soo ho, this drama perfectly portrays the realities of life. be against bullying, a word that can only be spoken in public. From the highest status to the lowest, no one will even care if you are bullied. And that's why this show is never, ever pity. They put the facts before us without hesitation.

In some scenes, I had to stop, give myself some time and continue like that. I won't be able to get over this series that I couldn't get over the same "the king of pigs" (themes are similar).

SPOILER but this is a call to the screenwriters: do not leave si eun alone at another school in the second season and let us watch their happy moments with his friend soo ho, PLEASE!

One of the best CDramas I've seen

Basically this was of the few Cdramas I looked forward to every week. The actors were extremely believable and did not over act their parts. The girls didn't act dumb and submissive which can be very cliché for Cdramas. And the chemistry between the two leads was undeniable. You can feel their love on the the screen which made this drama so so watchable. The plot was unique and the episodes didn't drag like some Cdramas. The supporting casts had their own unique stories and kept the drama interesting.
Please watch it, don't waste your time on other high school Chinese dramas, this one will be up there and it will be your most remembered.

this is beyond sweet

first off aggression isn't something to applaud, but both leads r teenagers, that r on uncertain ground - confused about what they want or rather expressing that "want" and getting it fulfilled. its easy making the right decisions when ur a spectator and not got all those hormones bombarding ur every cells, clouding ur judgment.

this deals with two different teens, one who's into cross-dressing and although he has gathered up the courage to do it openly, he isn't ready to get caught by anyone he knows, let alone think about his sexual preference.
Momose on the other hand, might be gay - or bi - but that's beside the point - the point being his discovery of Yashiro in drag, and after the initial shock he is curious, but also turned-on. as he never had a gf or any type of relationship he goes with logic - blindly forging ahead trying to "help" Yashiro be who he is, and also to get him as his gf/bf. he has zero knowhow in the art or romancing Yashiro - or even, on how he should approach him. cause from his perspective if Yashiro is openly walking around in drag, he has made peace with that side of him - Momose for sure has.

but Yashiro hasn't and that's why, they keep "butting heads" - cause in Yashiro's eyes what he is doing is abnormal and perverted (he hates and is ashamed of being this way, but can't stop), so Momose who not only seems "ok" with him being in drag, but want's to "help" him and add being attracted - wanting a relationship. Yashiro chancels all his worry, shame, self-hate and terror onto Momose.
most of this is misunderstanding and miscommunication, but Momose doesn't give-up and his persistence not only in accepting but encouraging Yashiro to be who he is - is what breaks through to Yashiro's fear addled brain..

this was really well made and acted - i loved Momose from start to finish - he the type of person that knows what he wants and doesn't care for society or family, but follows his heart and that is what landed him Momose's acceptance and heart at the end - love!

What is the right decision? What makes a GOOD person? These are questions that are fundamental to this story.

Two Brothers, identical twins. One praised, the other punished for not being as great as his perfect brother. One ends up a judge, the other a thug with repeated times in prison. When the judge brother goes missing, the thug brother stumbles into his life and sees an opportunity to snag some cash while pretending to be a judge...

The result is hilarious in places as he stumbles his way around and some how manages to convince everyone he's his brother (let's not think too hard about how he manages to get all the key aspects of being a judge about right - and assume it's because he's been in court himself a few times :) ).

Along the way he becomes attached to his new trainee, whom he heaps on lots of work to effectively cover up his lacking skills and knowledge.

I found it a very entertaining light weight drama to watch, with some very touching and heart warming moments especially towards the end - the tone definitely shifts from funnier at the start towards the romance and tears at the end.

The ending felt a BIT cut short but I didn't feel cheated, it was an ending, it made sense, it didn't *need* to go further but didn't allow you fully take in the ending before it froze for the credits.

Acting was great, I thought the female lead was great to watch, a different character to many shows but fitting for a legal professional I think. The male lead was good at portraying the two different characters, though the Kang Ho (thug) character was much more of a caricature than a character being completely over the top - but it added some fun to the character I think.

Most of the story is going to be following the thug brother and the female lead - while the judge brother is definitely there, he definitely plays a bit part, and again while the second female lead is definitely there - again, definitely much more secondary than some shows. As a secondary couple they barely make any impression, but that's ok, they weren't who the story was about after all.

The story with the mother and how she realises her contribution to the upbringing of the brothers was good and I am glad they pushed on with that aspect of the story rather than just focusing on the main thug-brother elements exclusively.

There is some irony that the thug-brother is probably actually a better person than the judge-brother, once again making you ask the question - what makes a good person?

WARNING: I WILL TALK ABOUT MAJOR SPOILERS

To call this movie great is an understatement this is a work of art the twist of the story, the leads acting was amazing Timmy Xu and Qiao Xin were amazing here and yes i am fans of these two actors but that doesnt mean im biased the fact that both of them were screenwriters for this movie just further shows how talented these actors really are.

Another thing i love about this movie is the pacing of the story it never felt rushed or slow and dont get me started on how they easily switch from comedy to romance and their chemistry is undeniably amazing. this movie was cut, fluffy, romantic and so much more

The production and cinematography is another thing this movie shines in the scene where the timmy xu's and qiao xin's character were imagining that they were in the same bed was beautiful not just how it was shot but how the characters acted how they touched eachother even tho they werent actually touching together was major commitment from the actors and another scene that was great was the one shot where they let us see how their relationship was overtime and when their relationship started to crack until the point where they unfortunately broke up but thankfully that wasn't the last of their story

If you didn't like the series, you'll probably like the movie!

So, basically, this movie took the original Episode 0, the 12 episode series and the final special episode and turned them all into a 2 hour movie.

For people who didn't like the series because Nine & Daonuea took too long to get back together, there was too much drama, it was too chaotic, there was too much back story without enough forward progress, Ep.0 promised spiciness and there was almost none in the original series, the side stories took up too much screen time ... whatever the reason... chances are good that it was either removed or altered slightly in the movie and it is now less messy, better paced and just tells the core story without an excess of drama or side story.

Now, for those who really enjoyed the original series and liked seeing all the back story, the history and super messy drama they most likely will not favor the movie because most of that was removed.

Personally, I really enjoyed both. I liked the series, but I still had a few issues with it, but overall I enjoyed that there was so much going on. I liked how Nine & Daonuea should have met during university and Tee messed it up, but fate chose for them to still come together. I didn't like how long Praew stayed in the picture, she was a great character and I'm glad she had a part, but I think her part should've ended sooner. So, I was happy they did that with the movie. Sure, we don't get the full story behind Tee & Ice before the after credits scene -- but isn't it good enough just to know how things ended for Tee after what he went through with Daonuea? We don't *really* need more than that, but for those who want more then there's the series to watch.

So, overall, I think the movie was a great addition to the Check Out line up. I recommend it to both those who liked the series and those who wanted to like the series and didn't.

SUMMARY
A love story between a human and a merman king. Includes an element of gender-bending (at the very beginning of the series), prominent vengeance plot and a few other cute pairings between other characters.
NOTE: This is a prequel to The Starry Night, the Starry Sea, which is set in modern times.
If you haven’t watched season one, I would recommend watching this one first, because otherwise you would know the outcome of S2.

PLOT
I would say that it is a mix of innovative and typical elements. The creative side of the drama is that the main male lead is a mermaid (or rather a merman). However, quite a few aspects of how the plot is executed are very standard for the land of dramas. Also, there is not much variation or unpredictability in how events unravel. The drama remains interesting as episodes progress (and there can be a lot of angst/anxiety involved), but I wished that some of the characters could change their behaviour, because it makes the drama a little monotonous.
On the plus side, there are quite a few side characters, each with their own little story (there is a really funny couple, a tragic couple and a few other characters that we get to know during the course of the drama). Besides main and secondary pairings, there is also an aspect of brotherhood, loyalty and friendship between various character groups, all of which enhance the plot.

ACTING
In short; good, but not breath-taking. Quite a few viewers seem to complain about the female lead. I think she was just ok. I would say that, in turn, the male lead could be accused of having too few expressions.

MUSIC
Generally very good and fitting the situation. Includes a few songs (Zhou Shen is one of the singers!) and some instrumental tracks as well.

Pleasant. That's what this drama is.

It is same yet different. This gives you the feeling which is kinda hard to explain. As someone here stated you just need to be in the 'right mood' to watch this drama. If you got the right mood it looks beautiful if it's wrong it looks boring. I experienced both.

Everything's resolved way too quickly. Maybe that's the reason behind the negativity for this drama. Viewers have some standards regarding how things should be dealt with in a drama. This drama doesn't meet any of those. This is different. It doesn't deal with problems how viewers expected them to be dealt with. This drama tells you that being in a relationship or being alone, both are okay and are acceptable. I loved that. Humor in this deserves a special mention.

Regarding acting everyone portrayed their roles well. Everyone. Nam Goong Min and Hwang Jung Eum's chemistry is off the charts. I guess she makes a good pair with everyone she's with.

So loved the OST. Good drama needs good music. It suited well.

I might re-watch this if I'm craving for something happy and pleasant. Always dramas doesn't need to be dark and complicated. Once in a while pleasant dramas like this are essential to balance the drama world.

This is the most well-made Qing Dynasty drama ever and also perhaps... the most well-made historical Chinese drama.

Everything is just perfect. From the acting to the writing of the characters to the music and the cinematography to the chemistry between the actors. Almost every actor in this show is an A-lister or B-list star. Amazing acting

I know some people feel Wallace was overpowered by Zhou Xun but I didn't feel it. I felt the chemistry was just right. This is not a story about underdogs always beating evil villains. For a good part of the story, the villains win.

But it's really about love and the relationship between Ruyi and Hongli and how that relationship evolved over time from their youth to their deaths.

It's also about power and how the desire for power corrupts. And the insecurities of the women in the harem. I felt this show really illustrated the different motivations of women and men in the harem and the palace. Whom do they serve? Why do they serve these people? Out of fear? Out of love? Out of blind trust and loyalty?

It's just a beautifully made show.

Chaotic

If you can make it through the first 30 minutes of the movie, which was really messy and boring, the movie will try to catch up later. What was a real waste, is the impressive cast turning out to be too much about nothing. Forget the first half completely, things turn out to be relatively more interesting in the second half. But not to the extend to salvage a Titanic. Some of the leading cast were good. Worth mentioning, Kim Soo Hyun, though his role was extremely short, but he marked it memorable indeed. Yet again, all was forgotten in a mediocre overall movie. Still, I wouldn't say the movie is among the worst watch list, but it doesn't score high. And if I need to pin point what went wrong for this impressive cast, I would say probably the story, there is no much to tell except bits and pieces of a typical heist action movie, and a huge cast chaotically ensembled without a solid plot.

One of the most motivating dramas out there is "attack no 1". Adapted from an anime , it certainly did not fail to portray the reality of the volleyball world and the feelings of the athletes. Being an ex-volleyball player I know exactly how it is to train the way the girls do. The plot definitely had a twist before the end of it. It has a lot of things to teach you concerning friednship and life and this is why I was unable to stop watching until I finished it.

The acting by most of the actors was really superb. Ueto Aya's acting once again managed to get me angry whenever she was being immature. Something that is rare in dramas, is character development, sometimes it just doesn't happen, but in "Attack no 1" you see that by the end of it they mature through the hardships and things that they are taught by their experience.

The music of this drama is sang by Ueto Aya herself and it is needless to say that it is very motivating. Yume no Chikara, the power of dreams, certainly complimented the drama. The countrack also was very fitting and it went so well.

I think that since this is a sports drama, rewatching it would still be amusing though, nothing is like the first time.

The main reason for me to watch it was Jun^^
So as soon as the subs were out, I watched it. Also, I was happy to see Eikura Nana and Jun acting together again.

The movie had a story that was easy to follow and was quite forseeable. However, it was still enjoyable and cute.
You shouldn't expect super dramatic twists or sudden changes, but if you are okay with a cute, heartwarming plot, that's something for you.

The cast was enjoyable. Everybody portrayed their roles nicely and believable. The relationship between Jun and Nana was great and felt absolutely natural. Also, the children's acting was sweet.

The basic theme of the movie is "furusato" (means homeland). The movie shows what it is and how people are connected to their hometown. Of course it's all a bit emotional, maybe a bit too much for some of you, but still nice.
The famous song "Furusato" is also included in the movie and if you're interested into Japanese culture you should at least listened to it once as it is a very important piece of music for all Japanese people.

There isn't much comedy included in the movie, but I think it wouldn't have been suited for it, so it's completely fine like that.

I recommend this movie to everybody who wants to watch something cute and heartwarming after a long, exhausting day and does not feel like watching action or something with a twisted plot. It's something to enjoy with a sweet story, a nice cast and wonderful music.
