When there is more representation I can be picky, but for now this'll have to do

In my humble opinion, this drama does not add up to the hype. I am thankful that South Korea has started making more LGBT dramas and movies, since it is a great step forward. However, I think we LGBT+ people have a tendency to go a bit crazy when there is any kind of representation, and we are so greatful for the scraps that we hype up stories that really aren't that good, and sometimes aren't even healthy relationships. I have seen a lot of student-teacher relationships, or age gaps that are not approperiate when it comes to gay stories. Where Your Eyes Linger is a portrayal of an unhealthy relationship between a "master and servant". Not only are they not equal, but Taejoo is actually mean towards Gook and uses his position and authority against him to deliberately make Gook uncomfortable. That is not the vibe for me.
Moreover, I think that the acting was... awkward at best. It is very clear to me that the actors are uncomfortable and they have no chemistry. The one kiss scene was not really a kiss, just a peck, which would be fine if it wasn't the case with so many gay dramas and series. I just felt really forced to me.

But, just because I did not like this drama does not mean that I won't gobble up any other representation, however awful. I am in a desert and representation is my water. So I know I'll still be watching these types of dramas that I don't like until there is more representation with variety so that I can afford to be picky. I cannot wait until that time comes.

Phungsan Dog is a tale of a man who is hired to bring packages and people across the DMZ line of North and South Korea. In the discussion thread Rainflower started about this movie, Amrita828 made a very astute comment about the personality of this man: that like the Phungsan breed of dog, he is loyal to only one. He pretty much ignores all but the one who owns this loyalty. In addition, the Phungsan breed rarely even barks unless intensly provoked. I felt the writing of a character's personality around a breed of dog intriguing and I didn't have my aha! moment until I read her comment.

I found this movie extremely well acted. I was beyond surprised at Yoon Kye Sang. Not because I thought he was a bad actor but rather that he was able to make a complete departure from the lighter, more comedic roles he has portrayed in the past. As I watch High Kick 3, Revenge of The Short Legged, I barely recognize him. And I respect the heck out of him for that ability.

After this movie was over I realized I was tense the whole time and as the credits rolled my body finally felt able to relax. It is dark, angsty and joyless but for some reason, I liked it anyway. It was interesting and I've never watched a movie with a plot like this.

If you are in the mood for a tense, intense ride, Phungsan Dog might be something you like. For the acting alone, I recommend this film.

For the first time in my entire drama journey, I felt... I need more, I need more episodes I want to spend more time with this amazing couple.

It is one of the most beautiful dramas I've encountered. The acting, pacing, execution, cinematography... even music I can't find any mistakes. I never skipped the opening song even of one episode. The casting can't be more perfect not just leads (Who did a splendid job) but the guest roles who are there only for 1-2 episodes, portrayed their character with perfection.

What to say about the story is it is based on real people and their beautiful journey together... The road trip that you won't ever forget.. ups and downs, challenges, meeting new people, exploring new things, experiences good and bad both this trip has everything that any normal trip can have.... it can't be more realistic. Though before watching it, I prepared myself for a depressing journey but never expected this would be so inspirational and heartwarming, making me crave for every episode.

I'm not gonna write a long review as I really don't have words (I'm bawling right now)

I want to say only one thing Watch it!

This movie is not for everyone. It's an art--a masterpiece--from start to end. However, this movie just might not be for everyone.

Dealing with trauma is hard. Using drugs as an escape only makes it worse. We aren't all fortunate to have good support during the hard times. But, we all are trying to live while we can. However, for some, it might no longer be about living but surviving.

Don't watch it expecting a love story. The movie is about pain, suffering, and trying to survive those sh*t. It's a hard-to-watch movie--dealing with things we don't understand always is. If you aren't up for a good challenge, then skip.

Dramas are made to create an embellished version of reality so we can enjoy it and relax and fantasize.
Which is why dramas trying to portray real life are often slower and not as entertaining.
The writing for this drama is pure GENIUS, a lot more real and mature, definitely a lot less cringy-cliche than most dramas out there but still manages to keep it sweet, funny and entertaining.
There was no epic confession or slow-mo dramatic moments but I felt so much emotions watching this drama. The comedy is ON POINT, I laughed so hard.
The actors are phenomenal and were able to keep this bittersweet melancholy that adulthood can bring while remaining funny.
The emotional parts have a very mature/real impression which I loved because for once, it wasn't overdone.
This drama doesn't have to be relatable, you dont have to be in your 30's to understand its message, it's just a very beautifuly done and slightly different slice of life drama with an OST that will stay stuck in your head for the next month.
I totally recommend it.

God where do i start , for one i loved the music , the music was beautiful. I found this because i wanted to watch a movie with yoo yeon seok in it. I didnt really read what it was about , i thought it was going to be about just some singer and a guy. I really didnt know what i was getting myself into. For one , by the beginning you find out this is actually very tragic , angsty. I cried and cried, i thought it might have gotten better , but it got worst and i cried. Even by the end i couldn't figure out who i hated, or who i thought was in the wrong. But i couldn't blame so yool at all, i just couldn't . The beginning to end was so interesting and so tragic, im still crying.

Good but mismatched main leads

When I started this series I wanted to drop it because instead of chemistry between main leads we got feeling of older sister caring for her brother and forcefully adding the romance felt weird. Then I heard second leads get good chemistry and better romance than main leads could ever try to fake.

As I watched it longer i started to like the story, fights and relationships between friends, comrades and family.

It would be better if they showed all fights instead of just showing animated pages of novel or manhwa, not sure what the series was adapted from. Not to mention when they made one fire saving scene half half so they made actors move but put a non moving walpaper behind them. It was as hilarious as it was lame.

Dilraba was perfect fit for female lead but in my opinion male lead should have been a bit older so we get some chemistry. Since Leo Wu was so young at that time neither of them could force it and it was clear as a day that she was like a mentor to him.

Overall series is good and it keeps you watching till the end. If you are here for the romance, you will get it but not between main leads, but between second leads yes.

After you accept disapointment in main leads "romance" ,show gets really good and second couple delivers instead.

OST is very good and hits you in the feels.

I gave it a 9 because i want to support good stories but it did have loopholes nearing ending of the series. It gave me a feeling like they hurried up to end it and didnt properly wrap out the Ashile tribe part of the story.

Strangers from hell is bold. The themes it delves into and its unorthodox out of norm storytelling establishes it as perhaps one of the most experimental korean dramas ever.

Its a must watch for any psychological enthusiasts. Its littered with subliminal messages and symbolises throughout.

Story: First of, the story is absolutely flawless. Watching the main character slowly descend into the depths of madness as his deranged compulsions are motivated by the main villian. The writing here is insanely well done.
The show isnt over indulgent nor is it pretentious. All the set pieces are handled perfectly.

The ending aswell, without any spoilers, leaves much upto viewer interpretation. Many conclusions are feasible with this open ended plot.

Soundtrack: The soundtrack, nothing short of perfect. Its immersive, with theme sending shivers down my spine days after finishing the show. It fits perfectly with the eerie paranomical style of the movie.

Acting: The actors absolutely killed it. Lee Dong Wook nailed his role as the psychopathic serial killer, and i would expect nothing else from the highly acclaimed actor. But the one who shines the most here is the mc, Im Shi Wan. His potrayal of a man at the brink of insanity, while being reserved and submissive is oscar worthy.

The whole cast overall did an extremely good job here. All played their roles really well, and I dont think anyone else but them could've executed it better.

Directing/Visuals: Another aspect where Strangers From Hell shows excellence. All the scenes, be it the outdoors or inside the residence where shot with alot of care no doubt. Especially with the frequent use of tracking shots and well placed cuts, the momentum is never lost.

Overall, Stranger From Hell is masterclass in storytelling. With a solid soundtrack and a wonderful cast, it is nothing short of a masterpiece.

After finishing King Gwanggaeto the Great I have the feeling that I watched a action movie that lasted over 92 hours. Even if the first quarter was a bit too loud for my ears, after I become "immune" to the excessive screaming of all the male characters (I also lowered the volume) I focused just to follow Damdeok in his path to become King Gwanggaeto.
I liked also that the plot was not concentrated just of Damdeok and Goguryeo, but the fight over power was well presented and for the main enemies of Goguryeo, Houyan and Baekje.
The strategies used in battle were amazing and gave me the impression that things could happen in this way.
From all historical dramas that I seen, Lee Tae Gon was the actor that fit the best in the role of a powerful king.
All the actors did a great job, especially that the act was centered on the gestures and facial expression.
The fact that the story is about a great man and a great ruler that really existed is another reason for watching!
A masterpiece of Korean history!

Agent Provocateur.

Jiang Ying, a bewitching songbird catches the eye of both Du Xunyu and his father, shipping magnate Du Jingchuan. The way she lures and provokes both men with her innocent wiles and wraps them around her finger is riveting. She is clearly up to no good but Du Xunyu has his own agenda and is willing to play along with her. This short drama starts strongly with a predictable but well executed revenge plot. Masterful and nuanced portrayals by the main actors and searing chemistry and palpable tension between the leads elevates the simple plot with well-drawn and resonating characterizations. Li Muchen (as Jiang Ying)in particular delivers a captivating performance as a seductive and manipulative agent provocateur that sows the seeds of discord in the Du household.

This short drama is compelling up to the final five episodes and then it manages to turn into a banal, draggy and somewhat sappy love story. The drama never delivers on the early promise of a very intense and passionate romance; lapsing into a very sweet one instead. The latter part of this drama is an example of how bad things happen when these short dramas end up with more budget and screen time. The ending was the worst - bafflingly attempting unnecessary melodrama when it should have and could have ended with a flourish after all the secrets are revealed. Although I still recommend this as a good short drama to pass time with, I can only rate this 7.5 because of the ending sag.

I really enjoyed this drama. The story is very fun and cute, if you want a quick lighthearted drama fix than this is for you! Its about a high school where there are 7 witches who can cast spells by kissing, and Yamada, a boy who can copy a witches power. Each episode (or there about) we find out about a new witch and her power.

The acting is typical Asian comedy acting, over the top but not bad. Yamamoto Yusuke is his same crazy self we know and love! I hadn't seen Nishiuchi Mariya in much else other than GTO, but she is quickly becoming one of my favorites.

I could defiantly watch this again. Who doesn't love a drama thats funny, over the top, cute and silly, yet still makes you feel alot of emotions!

A rare romantic drama that is comfortable to watch..

It's a rare romantic drama that is comfortable to watch. The main leads are "normal people" with positive values. They communicate in time when encountered with problems without internal friction. ML supports the FL emotionally and shares the pressure (without violating her principles to succeed independently without using his influence and resources!) when she faces difficulties at work place and the FL shows she can feel his efforts with her love and gratitude. This is pure mature love! Love is not just sweet romance but requires joint efforts, mutual understanding and support of both partners to go hand in hand on the road of life.

The second couple are everyone's favourites! They add more colours and storylines to the plot. There is a third couple as well. These characters show that everyone has issues/ obstacles/challenges they have to go through themselves. There will be mistakes and growing pains!

All characters and performances complemented each other. The family dynamics between the parents and in laws is a treat to watch!

Another highlight is the women in the workplace who are mutually supportive of each other and love their work (leave Tang girl). Their growth is entirely obtained through their own efforts and not by convenience or influence of a man.

Yes the drama may have certain shortcomings and some logical bugs but the flaws do not outweigh the merits! It's a profound theme exploration with insights on love/marriage, work and life in general for young couples. It's more realistic compared with other similar dramas broadcast recently and is definitely worth a watch.

Outstanding characterization

What an amazing journey. The fact that ULS is an adapted screenplay, it really retained the soul of the manga. They also did a great job of picturing the script.

The way the relationships between the characters are developed is great. And with strong direction, the characters were also expertly and carefully written. With this cast, they did fantastic job with their roles and their relationship has such great chemistry.

One could contend that this series lacks strength, which I could see on some parts, but most of all it was thoughtfully planned and well-written, addition of the excellent work from the cast with of course those wonderful ost/s.

A must watch for this show really exhibits that romantic feelings existed even before we realized it and how crucial trust is for a healthy love, be it love of intimacy or love of friendships.

P.S.
I guess they have the most sweet-comfortable-hug I'd ever seen in a kbl.

Crazy Love is an engrossing romantic comedy with a mix of some dark humor, melodrama, mystery, plenty of wounded souls, and great slow burned character development. For the leading couple, it is an enemy to lover’s trope that leads to a strong and supporting relationship. The actors did a great job bringing their characters and their realistic emotional and romantic entanglements to life. The leading couple has an extraordinary chemistry and it is impressive to see them together, not only when they have their beautiful and suave romantic interactions but their best is seeing in episode 2 where the female lead (Krystal Jung as Lee Shin A) reaches her “I’m going all out crazy” stage; it’s great! And, of course, Kim Jae Wook (as Noh Go Jin) was exceptional as well! A truly entertaining drama, enjoy it!

I think this is a really great drama! Unlike most of the other lakorns I've watched, this one did not have a crazy ex-girlfriend. The progression of how the main actor likes the main actress is very well-placed, and you can see how he gradually likes her more and more. Even though it was more of a contract marriage, the contractual part did not last long, and it is refreshing to see that the main actor already liked the girl before the contract marriage. It's also helpful that the scenes are filmed beautifully and the main actors/actresses are good looking. Overall, I thought the drama was well-paced, the characters were likable, and the storyline (even though it does have some flaws) was still fairly believable for a drama.
