a slow but interesting episode

Feels like a lot happened ... slowly ... in this episode. We got some besties supporting besties moments with Cheng Jinyang taking her girl out. We had CJY getting into banter with her ex in a way that wavered back and forth between truly pissed and annoyed to almost playful flirtation so there is clearly some unresolved stuff between CJY and Ai Jia. Unfortunately we have an appearance of Tong Yao's sad-sack scumbag ex-BF Jian Yang trying to take advantage of her being both depressed and drunk - and thus potentially vulnerable - what an absolute loser he is. We have Si Cheng morphing smoothly from his initial cold snarky character into a White Knight as he sincerely helps our girl through this difficult time with solid advice and understanding - not to mention the c-drama-requisite piggy-back ride. We have some family drama reveals about Si Cheng via the arrival of his brother - who doesn't seem very popular among all the ZGDX teammates. Despite the less than warm welcome he seems to think he can push his way in and displace Tong Yao's spot on the team. There's more that happened that I didn't list so, yeah, this was an eventful episode ... and yet it all unfolded kind of peacefully and slowly. Not that's a bad thing. My only real complaint about this episode is that it features more behavior by several of the gamer boys that is, well, just awful. Childish mysoginy and emotional selfishness run rampant. Most of them consistently act with the maturity level of 5th graders. I get that this is for 'comedy', but most real gamers who are in their 20s aren't THAT immature. Yes a few are. But most are as mature as any young adults should be at that point in their lives. The portrayals in this show so far are kind of insulting. Hopefully that's mainly for comedy in the initial episodes and the show will let the boys mature as the show proceeds.

Let's bring the band back together

What better way to deepen your friendship than to drink your worries away? Exactly do a ritual together to bring out the demon in you :D Another perfect episode full of suspense, chemistry and insane cinematography. We finally get a better grasp about Niran's past, namely how he grew up with his grandpa in that village and how his words and teachings impacted Niran to this day (btw when i catch you grandpa); and also how he met his sister P'Fei (Godji). Eventhough Niran wasn't keen on helping Pete with the demon at first, his heart couldn't resist drunk Pete and those boba eyes of his and finally decides to help him, but first he needs to get the band of outcasts back together (because some wu refused to help them, Sira I'm looking at you). I simply love all of these outcasts and I hope we will know some more about them, especially Jiao Hao seems to have a quite tumult past. The ritual is so well done, istg they put so much effort in this, i simply love it!AAAHHHHHH AND THE FINAL SCENE?!?! I AM SCREAMING

Will you trust me with your life eventhough we have known each other for like 5s?

Niran offers Pete another job : baiting the gambling house yao. The catch? It’s possible that if Niran doesn’t succeed in destroying the yao, Pete will die :D *so excitiiiiiing* And how to get Pete to do this? Exactly you bait him with money, specifically 1mio THB. Jokes aside, this episode was a phenomenal continuation of the first one. It’s very obvious that the bond between Niran and Pete is slowly but steadily deepening. The way Pete blindly trusts Niran’s wu abilities to the point of betting his soul to the gambling yao in order for Niran to catch that evil force? That's a level of trust only a deep bond can cause. It completely caught me off guard when we discovered why Pete has a demon fragment inside him. And ofc he straight up ran to Niran for help, but he wasn't very on board with helping him.. This series keeps me on my toes and yearning for more!!
