For a first episode they covered too much…

For a first episode they covered too much of the plot, in other words the part of story covered had emotional depth and it was conveyed poorly. While people are hung on the AI intro I would like to point out some other issues that I found. Acting:The FL's acting seems unnatural for the most part (initial). But I believe it is because of her face. She is pretty ofc but I personally feel it doesn't suit the acting she does. Or maybe it's the bangs. Sorry but her acting was the first thing I noticed. I found FL's sister and ML's acting fine and pretty natural respectively. After the funeral FL's acting seems on point and could feel her grief. Pacing: Too fast for an emotional plot. Like I get it that they had to kill the couple off in the first ep so to make it emotional they added bonding scenes. Those scenes were abrupt and short. It felt like seeing a recap of 1 and 2 eps. The screenwriting is bad cause the way things unfolded felt like a fever dream. As a result I didn't feel connected to any of the characters. I am a person who cries for the simplest thing in any series or movie however despite such a tragedy striking FL I found myself staring blank at the screen. If u have seen Start-up u know how the first ep ends and I was bawling my eyes out for it. Direction : Several cut and abrupt scenes. Makes it look like the plot is all over the place but in reality it is the just presentation that lacks order. Plot : Quite basic. FL and ML have a comedic encounter before their official meet-up. The comedy felt forced for some part. Cliched bond between FL and her sister. Like I have seen n times when someone says they like a thing for the first time ever so the protagonist goes to buy/fulfill their wish. But these basic plots have emotional depth somewhere, which the first ep failed to deliver. Conclusion: Though the acting seems week, pacing is weird and execution is weak ( for now), I will still watch it for the plot. (The plot being the kid and ML)

this was too fluffy & smooth & was…

this was too fluffy & smooth & was sure that until the end it wouldn't be so, now we getting a new hurdle - wonder who she is & how much chaos she gonna create. a very cute ep - Mamiya is the best type of superiors to work under, he doesn't just love his job but also the subordinate's that work under him & he will go out of his way to help them - like he did with Riku. i doubt there many people in his position that would work so hard to figure out how to help a new employee that's struggling. wish we all ended up with bosses like him. *******************************************************************************************************Toma was just being jealous, that someone else was consuming Mamiya's thoughts, cause even if he was the type that didn't like how involved Mamiya was, i am 110% sure that Riku not only appreciated how Mamiya cared, but he wanted to be glued to Mamiya's side, cause it gave him confidence. very wholesome ep

No incentive to continue watching

I think there is a huge writing problem. For me, Jimmy and Toh elicit so little sympathy that, the obstacles to Teh and Fah's love having been dissolved in the previous episode, I have no more reason to continue watching the show.

Good god. More tears!

This series is brutal at tugging your heartstrings and this episode brings more tears. This one really hurts because Rong was so young and, well, the baby.

Continues to deliver

It is a given that everything with the baby is going to be adorable. What was very well done was presenting the views from siblings with no idea whatsoever in dealing with children. As little sis walks through her sister’s home, we are poignantly drawn in to the love and care her sister gives everything. She finds an apology post it on her books and is flooded with memories of all the care her sis has given her. She and baby have a good cry about missing the sis/mom that made this house a home. The younger brother is just about getting his life in order to his view of perfection, when he finds out his brother’s last phone call was to him and he wanted to discuss something important. He can’t quite escape wanting to know what that conversation would have been. The best friend arriving with tons of questions and wanting to know what happened to the house🤣😂 The bathtub incident and the complete crashing after cleanup is a laugh out loud moment that most parents can completely relate to. There is a very fun series of events that gets her through an interview and causes him a one month delay in moving into his apartment. His perfectionist ways did wonders for the state of the house and he is truly a needed element for them. In his case I felt bad as he walked through the house. Aside from his nephew’s need, there was nothing to link him to anything in his brother’s life. All the messy scenes inside and the fountain and bubble scenes outside were well done and completely entertaining. What is special about this drama compared to others is that we are getting the sibling relationship history and how their absence is felt by each of them. It’s not just centered on becoming a couple and taking care of baby. It thoughtfully reflects on the union of two families and how the older siblings did or did not include the younger one. We are seeing their struggles as individuals and the realization from both of them that their life is changed forever and how will they deal with that.

pure fluff

Now this is the episode that cements this drama as a romcom. We have Hye Jin and Jun Ho finally agree to be together, and with that, we also get to see how sweet they are with each other. I enjoyed the episode in a romantic aspect! They're very cute as a couple and they do have chemistry. I loved the scene with Hye Jin and her friend and how vulnerable she was in that moment admitting that Jun Ho was her guiding hope during what was the worst time of her life, and also admitting that he was always special to her, in that he was always more than a student. I just love Hye Jin as a character, and she's very cute in the romance too, but I think it's almost a disservice just to have her romance spotlighted, only because she's so interesting as a whole. She's capable of more than just this relationship, but I don't mind seeing them happy together.I would like for the drama to spin back into the workings of the hagwon environment, probably because that part is the most interesting to me. But we shall see! It looks like from the preview that Hye Jin and Jun Ho will see if keeping the relationship secret actually works, or if Jun Ho at some point will want them to go public.

Truth Buried Beneath the Lantern Light

Episode 1 of Unveil: Jadewind comes charging out of the gate like a horse race—no slow burn, no careful peeling back of layers. From the opening moments, we’re thrown straight into Li Pei Yi’s past. She’s the sole survivor of a massacre after her father supposedly went mad and killed everyone. That explanation never sat right with her—she knows her father’s character too well—so it’s clear there’s something far more sinister at play.Because of this unresolved trauma, Li Pei Yi throws herself into her work, building a reputation for solving crimes. She’s driven, emotionally guarded, and very much a lone wolf. The central whodunnit kicks off with a political marriage alliance: Princess Huai Si, a low-ranking princess, is set to marry, but during the Lantern Festival she’s murdered. Li Pei Yi is devastated—she was close to the princess—and becomes determined to uncover the truth behind her death. Her investigation brings her into contact with Xiao Huai Jin, an imperial astronomer. The stars have already delivered their warning, and the prophecy has come to fruition. Charged by the emperor to uncover the truth, he’s bound by silence and unable to reveal what he knows, adding an intriguing layer of tension and mystery to his role. Both Bai Lu and Wang Xing Yue present strong visuals—cold, distant, and restrained. At this stage, the drama doesn’t appear to be leaning into romance, instead focusing squarely on its murder mystery and political intrigue. While the episode didn’t completely hook me from the very first minute, it is interesting. The groundwork has been laid well, the mystery has potential, and Episode 1 does enough to make me curious about what’s really hidden behind the stars—and the past.

what a hell of an emotional roller coaster…

what a hell of an emotional roller coaster this drama has been, i can't believe i just started it - but it's so freakin good i just couldn't stop & i am almost at the end. ***********************************************************************************************before anything i have to say, i read a lot of comments where people be saying Pheem should notice the worthy love interest under his nose - i.e. Mawin. sorry, but they the best of friends - as close as good friends can be, but they NOT attracted to each other!!! Mawin already eluded to a ex-gf & i get that in BL-land ,that's not even a hurdle - cause love doesn't see gender yada yada yada.... but there r straight people in the world (even BL land) that aren't curious about sh*t & even in the scene they acted out; Pheem was imagining Jira, while Mawin was acting his ass off in the hopes of getting the role - u know the role where he will be portraying a character that's being seduced by a MAN!!! so knowing this fact, why would he recoil from a kiss? cause it was Pheem?!?? if anything, he should be more comfortable as that's his friend, who he trusts. really don't get BL watchers that HAVE to pair up every male character just cause they in a BL... like plz *************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************now that that's off my chest, have to admit Jira has become my least favorite character, what he did to Pheem was diabolical. he keeps giving him hope, only to shoot him down & he has the audacity to tell him lets remain friends?!? with friends like him who the f*ck needs enemies?!? & i wished & shouted at my screen for Pheem to throw that painting back in Jira's face. that's another way to keep his presence live in Pheem's heart & mind, that just freakin cruel - but he doesn't care how he is hurting Pheem, he just wants his support puppy around so he can kick him some more.. that's why i was happy at the end. the only pity is that Koh wasn't (yet) looking to replace Jira the bf/sleeping aid - just Jira the artist. personally it was karmic, given what he did to Pheem. *************************************************************************************************************************regarding Koh, sadly or not he has created the life he wants to live regardless of the reasons, the past or his fears. so even if now he is enjoying the novelty Jira is offering, sooner or later he will wish to go back to his solitary lifestyle cause that allows him the quite he needs to work & think. yeah it doesn't offer him any peace of mind - but i have a feeling in the next (last) ep he is gonna cut his losses & let Jira go. cause i don't really think Koh needs anyone to survive. he had no problem to cut Pheem (a childhood friend) out of his life, like it was nothing, without a backward glace. what's so special about Jira?!? in Koh's eye's humans r useful tools until they r not - to him computers r special! so to me, the next ep is a foregone conclusion. had a feeling this wont be a "happily ever after" type BL, but i am loving it all the same, the realism is beautiful in it's ugliness - as humans r perfect in their imperfections

Refreshing Interactions

Loving the chemistry between leads at the moment. It's refreshing to see the ML Danny moving in and helping as a way to stay instead of what seems to be the typical self-centered manipulation that tends to happen in other dramas. He even disclosed why he needs to stay there and seems to be open about communicating what he's feeling instead of doing the typical stone-wall or redirect that many MLs tend to do.I wish we saw more of the house - is Danny staying in the main bedroom or hers? Where is Woo Joo's nursery? Also, what a terrible contractor that didn't repair the plumbing flood during the "window of opportunity." He should have fixed it even though he couldn't get a hold of Danny. The contractor ended up costing significantly more in repairs. And why was the water to that unit left on at all? Why do they need to tear the floor out to put in a recessed outlet? But okay, I'll let it go for the plot progression. ^^

Deflating ending

[spoiler alert about the type of ending the drama has]) Cute love story in the face of challenging obstacles from Korean cultural norms turns into melodrama (not a bad thing in itself), then ends with a happy ending where everything reset to how things were in the beginning. A melancholic ending would've have wrapped the story and the female lead's character arc well as she was finally growing on her own and there was little to no character development in other characters (Like literally cut the last 30 seconds). Ultimately, the ending left me feeling like I had wasted 15+ hrs watching this and made me want to leave my first review on a drama and I've now watched like 90. Decent acting and unique OST for a Kdrama tho.

the pic Jira drew of Pheem is f*cking ironic.…

the pic Jira drew of Pheem is f*cking ironic. the more i watch this BL, i realize Jira & Koh r two sides of the same coin. if anything, i am starting to think Jira is the more dangerous character here & he is gonna destroy not just Pheem, but Koh too & as u can't destroy something without backlash... Jira is gonna be the architect of his own misery / downfall. *********************given all the hurting souls, idk why the only end i can see is a depressing one, usually when u got so many "injured" souls, u want to see a happy ending for them all. but there is this subtle feeling of things not just getting more complicated, but also going down hill. for now that happening clearly with Pheem, cause of Jira's lies. but given the fact Koh is opening up & starting to rely on Jira, i have a feeling Jira (who is more attracted to the mean, sadistic type) will grow bored of being Koh's emotion crutch & sleeping aid. & if someone richer comes along, who can offer Jira better pay, he wouldn't think twice, before ditching Koh or anyone - even though he does have feelings for Koh. yet i have a feeling he can't help himself. ****************************the whole interaction between Pheem & Mawin was so wholesome & fun, at least he got someone good in his life. now only if he listened to him & let Jira go. but poor Pheem needs to be crushed to dust before he regroups & moves on. hope he will move on...

Dueling poets and jinxing projects

Pei has found a way to quickly waste LiShi’s 20 million investment. Next episode we will get to see his staff’s opinion of these concrete cube apartments. I loved the dueling poets at start of episode. It is fun to see the juxtaposition of classical literature combined with gaming expertise. It is an unexpected combination and a very fun perspective. 😂🤣 Pei has reached new lows as ms unlucky charm is unleashed on every department. 🤣 That was truly insider sabotage. She looks so unassuming and creates so much havoc. 🤣 Pei’s brainstorming of this apartment building is letting him vent all his frustrations with his current living conditions. Waiting to see how the team turns this investment for him or seeing if he’s created a second loss that will backfire later like Munying Villa. The actors and production team are doing an excellent job of portraying the twists and turns of anti profit business ideas being turned into successes. They are making it a fun misadventure and the comedy is well done.
