Best Action Movie for The Past Few Years
People, go to cinema right now and watch this show!✅ Incredible action scenes, every fighting scenes literally keep me on edges!!! If this wasn't chinese movie, this would hit 9 or more 😔 They deserve more for this aspect alone.
✅ The wolf gang are visual feast lmao. I think the godfather pick them up by visual 😂
✅ Main villain is so charismatic and brutal.
✅ No need to question all acting, Jackie Chan? Tony Leung Ka Fai? They are the top one.
The story alone is actually the usual catch the criminal type of movie, what made it more special is the action scenes. I want to rewatch just to appreciate the action choreography alone, parkour, the gunfight, close combat, all type of martial arts, especially the opening, that was magical 😫 China, let's go back to your root and release more action moviess!! I want my childhood memories back, especially kungfu theme 😔

The Weight of Beauty
It’s not just a Korean rom-com: it’s a cruel fairy tale disguised as a musical. Hanna sings like an angel, but no one really sees her. Her voice fills the stage, the crowd cheers… but the idol in the spotlight isn’t her. It’s someone else lip-syncing, while Hanna stays hidden in the shadows, crushed under the weight of her own body and broken self-esteem.The scalpel becomes her magic wand. She’s reborn as Jenny: beautiful, thin, flawless. Finally, she has the body for her voice, the face for her talent, the smile that opens doors. But the film never lets you fully enjoy this transformation: behind the glitter, the same sharp question lingers — if they love you now, do they really love you? Or just the mask you wear?
What’s left is not the usual romantic comedy. It’s a light punch to the gut — it makes you laugh, but leaves a bitter aftertaste. It’s the kind of movie that has you singing “Maria” at the top of your lungs, then staring at your reflection wondering how much of you is real and how much was built just to be liked.
It’s not perfect: there are clichés, easy laughs too. But if you let it in, 200 Pounds of Beauty hits deep, especially for anyone who’s ever felt “too much” or “not enough.”

Utterly wholesome!
How could anyone watch this and not have a good time?I don’t think I’ve ever watched a sports film before, well... besides ‘Racing Stripes’ (2005) when I was young; I’ve never been into that genre of film, but this was an exception for me. I only watched this for Tamaki Hiroshi – sorry to say this, but I’m glad Sato had to get rid of his big hair – and I ended up enjoying and appreciating the cast!
The journey to the day of the festival was a ride, and I’m glad the boys were all able to do what they considered the impossible… possible. The smile I had on my face when everything came together...
I guess the moral of the story is that you can do it; do not give up. If you want a "feel-good" film, go for this.

A cultural fenomenon
I didn’t know that MyDramaList also features animations. In that case, I’d love to post reviews on some Pororo movies as well :)As for KPop Demon Hunters, it’s a truly great movie, with stylish animation, an emotional story, exciting action sequences, and top-charting songs. And everything fits together perfectly. What more could someone ask for? The team behind this film managed to create a universal story that at the same time pays perfect homage and respect to both K-pop and Korean culture.
Rarely do we get a movie with this much rewatch value—not only for the songs and the animated action but also for the many small details that can be discovered with each repeat viewing. It’s a film that captures both the energy of a concert and the imagination of a fantasy adventure. KPop Demon Hunters is definitely a movie to remember.

New Demon Hunters
Before the animated film KPop Demon Hunters, there was this live-action movie: Holy Night Demon Hunters. This movie would have worked much better as an animation, because as it is, it doesn’t succeed as an action film, even less as a horror movie, and even less as a fantasy or comedy. They really didn’t need those silly gags. The movie also spent too much time on “found footage,” where we watch events from another camera instead of directly. In my opinion, the biggest flaw of the movie is its misguided production.I still had some fun watching Ma Dong-seok (I didn’t really catch his character’s name) kicking demons with his destructive fists, and it was interesting to see an exorcism done in a slightly different way. Usually, the Catholic Church is the one expelling demons, but here they turned it into a Korean-style exorcism while still keeping a vague connection with Christianity. So, there is some originality, even though the majority of the movie is just another below-average exorcism film.

"It seems a bit vague, your face"
I Love Camping aka Do You Like Camping was a short film by and starring Kim Kkot Bi. The film had little dialogue and was more of a relaxing vibe than plot driven story.Kim joyfully rides her motorcycle on Jeju Island, having to deal with rude sightseers and influencers. Setting up her tent and chair, she’s more into her book and camera as the wind whips her hair around than the man filming next to her. Rebuffing the influencer, her interest lies in the woman whose tent is next to hers--another seasoned camper who enjoys hiking and reading. What’s a girl have to do to get her neighbor’s attention instead of the influencer and his followers?
I Love Camping was a gentle campers crossing in the night story. The rough setting with the sea in the background, the nimble efficiency of pitching a tent, happy sighing while riding a motorcycle, all lent to the authentic feel of a woman enjoying her time on the road and perhaps wistfully wishing she didn’t always have to travel alone.

The love that was loved and protected by everyone around them.
I sort of feel that I am too late in watching this movie and that I hate myself for not knowing about it until now but... here goesImagine waking up in a state of confusion because yesterday you were caught in an accident trying to save a kid, only to read on your head bed a sign that says "I have anterograde amnesia. You don't remember anything from yesterday when you wake up the next day. Please don't forget to read your diary." This i how our main female protagonist always have her mornings. Relearning everything from a book of memories she wrote from yesterday and reliving it as best as she could to move on with this day ahead. Having this condition sure is not all breezy. In fact, it takes a lot of effort, time, and support from everyone around you to actually go on by the day only to have them erased from you while you sleep. Every memory, every feeling, and everything are all a big blur that is familiar and yet still unknown to one. Alas, despite of all these, Hino Maori never gave up. She even went out on her day and live it to the fullest with the help of everyone who surrounds her which includes her best friend, Wataya Izumi, and our main male lead, Kamiya Tooru.
The bond that was shown and acted out throughout the whole movie was as genuine as they all can be with one another, having their characters come to life as if they are their own characters. I know this is how I was initially captivated. The resounding art of one artist in showcasing their roles to give life to one of the most touching and yet tragic story that a lover could possibly experience; being forgotten again and again and again.
Kamiya Tooru, a young lad that is not so brightly seen by their common peers and often associated with the gloomy ones from the rest, approached the quiet and stunning girl that everyone was too cautious to ruin. Her elegance stands out and yet he came with an empty declaration of love in order to try and save his friend from being destructively harassed by the many. With his gentleness, Maori could not have helped but try to welcome him with a smile and a response that left everyone, including the young lad, surprised.
Wataya Izami, a loyal confidantn to Maori, dedicated herself into helping her best friend live her everyday life as lively as she can, even if the cost of it was her pain and becoming utterly a walking diary that records every moment and minute of her life.
The three of them are entangled to a moment of their youth that will forever change each others' lives.
I would not go as much of a detail in what the rest of the story became but instead I will share my experience of pain, guilt, and joy when I was watching this movie. I was so invested with the characters' dynamics and how their story became to be so lighthearted and yet so heavy without leaving a trace of the main context of their overall friendships. I could hardly think that a friend would be so loyal to one to the point of sacrificing herself and her friend's memories in other to save on from the suffering that they were experiencing. This movie shows how love in different forms can be so crucial to one who badly needs it in order to keep going and keep on trying. The love of the one who gave her memories, the love of the one who kept those memories, and the love of those who supported all their loves and memories are greatly shown and well executed in this movies.
This being produced to give life to the book "Konya, Sekai Kara Kono Koi ga Kietemo , SekaKoi; Tonight, Even if This Love Disappears From the World" by Ichijo Misaki, I can't help wonder what I would be feeling if I had the chance to read it for myself. This movie gave me so much emotions and pain that I could only imagine would be 10 times more if I were to read the book.
In all aspects, this movie is a true gem to be seen and to be lavishly regarded. The acting was cleanly executed, the music and songs used were carefully selected and made to support the mood and the feeling of the whole movie, the overall cinematography truly captivated the japanese mellow theme that I personally love, and lastly, the story and the script was well-written and artistically directed to give it an overall satisfying plot that keeps the whole movie grounded together that will leave you with a wholly empty space for it to sink into and make a mark within.

Good but also bad
Ghost Train had an eerie atmosphere and some solid suspense that kept me engaged, and I definitely enjoyed watching it. The premise was strong and the setup promised a lot of mystery. That said, I found myself wanting more… more depth in the story, more development in the characters, and a bit more payoff at the end. It delivered on mood but felt like it could have pushed further to fully maximize its concept. Still, if you like ghost stories with a chilling vibe, it’s worth the watch.it’s good but also could be bad if you are a horror fan.

i didnt like the first movie but imo this was a big improvement
the first movie wasnt very enjoyable for me at all so this one was a pleasant surprise- to start, the overall atmosphere feels much more fitting. maybe its because it started at night, maybe its because the first body was dropped from the roof rather than on a screen, im not sure but i know from the start i just felt the vibe registered better. to me, the horror vibe felt slightly faker when the game begun in the first movie
- the side characters were more noticeable here than in the first movie. before it felt like they were all virtually nonexistent and did nothing but fill extra space. besides the mean (?) girl, most were difficult to differentiate from one another due to how little their characters were built up or given personality. these side characters are much more distinguishable and to the point where i thought wed get more content focused on them
- the mystery surrounding the mastermind is also better done in this movie. the teacher in the last one served as a quick plot twist and not much more but this one really adds to the suspense. involving multiple people in the crime rather than just one person was a good idea because there are people who can be built up and also disposed of to add to the suspense and make the deaths feel notable while still allowing us to steadily uncover the truth
- i enjoyed the tasks more too even though there werent as many. they felt more put together and relevant like sifting through the evidence and killing the girl who killed tae yeon. it felt so stupid when the kids would die anyway even if they got the question right in the first movie but this time it feels more fitting since this is revenge against those who were responsible for tae yeons death. the tasks were more about exposing the perpetrators to the class judging by the mean girls death
- i also love how unlike the first movie, the deaths didnt feel gory just for the sake of it. JK dies from his own motorcycle, ji yun gets killed by the class, hyeon a is poisoned by her own pills, all the dying students being complicit in the crime so the brutality also served to punish the students for their actions. meanwhile the candle dude and the other students deaths in the first movie were so unbelievably brutal (even more than the actual killers) for virtually no reason.
- i liked the plot twist about the main characters decision too. it was wrong of her but i cant say i dont understand where she was coming from and it puts her words from earlier in the movie into perspective
- overall, this movie made the deaths and overall situation feel more purposeful and the characters were better utilized too. so were the relationships imo. i definitely enjoyed it

not very good
i recently realized i loved killer game plots so i decided to try this one. i had high expectations but it was pretty disappointing. the students outside of the main group of 5 barely existed. the reason behind the games was pretty predictable which i wouldnt have minded if the games themselves as well as the character interactions and dynamics were interesting but they werent. the switches in perspective after the groups split up were hard to follow and i was lamenting about stupidity too much to enjoy the movie- why did the guy friend feel the need to turn 180 degrees just to yell at the girl to run when he couldve taken advantage of the fact he pushed a crazy killer on his ass and restrain him or something?
- the groups constantly splitting up when theyre literally being kidnapped one by one (where is the logic there?)
- answering the questions achieves nothing because the students are killed afterwards anyway even if you get the answer right. the best friend dying anyway was so stupid and i kept getting confused about whether the answers were correct because the kids were dying regardless. its very boring watching a killer game when the hosts are constantly breaking the rules
- not sure if this counts since the teacher was the killer but him killing the crazy kid pissed me off because he literally didnt know if it was him (he didnt seem composed enough to set all this up anyway) and he was already unconscious. they couldve at least tried tying him up and getting some answers or something
- no one wanting to answer the 3rd (?) question and the teachers just letting them stay back as if their classmates arent literally dying and its better to at least have more minds working on the problem
- the parents reasoning made no sense to me. itd make more sense if they wanted to punish the kids for whatever reason
- what the hell was going on with that crazy kid who kept trying to kill the main girl? he saw the teacher murder jiwon but was that supposed to be what made him totally crazy? he acted possessed. theres no way thats supposed to be from witnessing a murder.
- the truth was rooted in reality so im confused about some of the scenes that seemed to be driven by supernatural forces like the hallucinations, ghost looking girl spawning and despawning instantly, people being kidnapped in such a weird manner
- the deaths were super brutal which could be considered good since its horror. i like when brutal deaths elevate the sense of suspense and dread (like in jigsaw) but since the games were boring and the rules were being broken, it fell flat.
- some scenes were strange…like did we really need to see the main girls underwear as she bled through on her period (which had no plot relevance) or her best friends underwear (surely the uniform couldve had build in shorts no?) but whatever

Princess Story
One sided Love of a Princess is a Korean version of the princess fairy tale that we all remember from childhood. The story is set in the Joseon Dynasty, where tradition and respect mean everything, but our main "hero," the princess, rebels against all the rules of the court because of love. Her actions toward freedom can be seen as feminist empowerment, but the director (also a woman) wisely presents her as immature and acting out of strong emotions, so we can understand her while still appreciating the social norms. We support her heart’s desires, but we also support the rule of law that requires everyone to be responsible for their actions. The ending of the movie felt a bit rushed, but all in all, I liked how the story turned out. It surprised me how entertaining the movie was, and I think everyone who watches it will find something to enjoy. The main focus is on the princess, but there are also many other characters who play their roles very well. There is a bit of comedy and old-time action, but mostly this is a rich romantic story that will hopefully bring our own hearts some joy and inspiration.

A delicate moment
This film truly moved me and even made me cry. The delicacy and depth of the characters Jane and Ann left a strong impression on me, especially in how their dreams, perspectives, and ways of interacting with the world are so different.Ann has a more realistic view of life. We see it in her desire to leave, in her complicated relationship with her mother, and in her connection with Tong. She seems fully aware that life won’t necessarily give her what she hopes for, so she’s trying to carve out her own path.
Jane, on the other hand, is much more idealistic. She doesn’t yet know what she wants to do with her future, but one thing is certain: she wants to stay by Ann’s side forever. Unlike Ann, she refuses the idea of moving forward, changing, or leaving — and that contrast between them creates a beautiful emotional tension.
Their relationship is so touching and profound. They genuinely love each other, but there’s a delicate ambiguity surrounding their feelings — we never really know if one of them is romantically in love with the other or if it’s the opposite. I truly appreciated this intentional “blur,” as it makes their bond even more powerful.
The arrival of Tong adds another layer to the story. His actions could even be interpreted as a form of grooming, which also works as a subtle critique, especially since he was fully aware of Ann’s situation.
In the end, I really appreciated this film — not only for its beautiful coming-of-age narrative but also for its subtle critique of capitalism and human relationships. It’s a sensitive, nuanced, and deeply emotional work that stays with you long after it ends

Everything I love about Kpop Demon Hunters
Like most people, I had no idea this movie was even coming out. I just woke up one morning and suddenly it was all anyone could talk about. The moment I saw the stellar animation, I knew I was in for a ride. What I didn’t expect was the emotional rollercoaster it would take me on. For a kids’ movie, it goes surprisingly deep—just enough to deliver a powerful message about guilt, shame, and ultimately, acceptance. That’s what really stood out to me: not just the eye-catching animation or the impeccable voice acting, but the way the theme of acceptance was brought to life through the songs and the amazing lead characters. Now, for what didn’t sit right with me: there’s really only one thing. Jinu figures out Rumi’s patterns during their very first fight, while her friends—who’ve been fighting alongside her for years—never noticed them. It felt a little inconsistent. But honestly, it’s a minor issue, and I get that it had to happen to move the plot forward. So, no big deal.
As for the positives, I can confidently say I loved almost everything about this movie. The animation blew my mind, and that’s saying a lot because I’ve seen a ton of different styles. Having watched shows like Arcane, Blue Eye Samurai, and Samurai Jack, I didn’t think there was much left that could genuinely impress me. But this did. It’s playful, flexible, and just a joy to watch. The voice acting was excellent, except Gwi ma who wasn't menacing or scary at all—but props to the casting director—and the songs were on another level. It’s been so long since I’ve seen an animated musical this good. Moana 2, Frozen 2, Wish, etc. were major disappointments, & I'm glad that k-pop Demon Hunters came along to remind Disney what those movies should feel like.
Like I said, the key takeaway for me was the themes/central message. I love how the patterns are used both metaphorically & literally to represent one's shame & guilt. The movie does an excellent job of showing the power that secrets & shame can have over a person in their relationship with themselves & others, and how the more we try to hide our supposed flaws, we go deeper into more lies, secrets, deception, I even begin to hurt & disappoint the one we love because of our words & behaviors. I never expected a kids-friendly movie to teach such valuable lessons! That if we come to accept ourselves & put aside our fear of rejection, if we trust our loved ones with the truth, they could accept us too. Because love is all about forgiveness & acceptance.
I also love how Jinu's arc features a redemption that teaches us that it's never too late to change & do the right thing no matter how far gone you think you are.
I've heard lots of complaints about the ending. People say that they were made to sympathize with the demons only for them to all be banished. I understand that art is open to different interpretations, but I never saw it that way. This movie was never leading up to a place of demon-human coexistence. That's evident in the fact that they never even bothered developing the characters of the two Saja boys. It was about the personal journeys of two people coming to terms with their mistakes & learning to accept themselves for who they are. And yes, defeating the villain with the power of love & friendship is corny, but the world building established from the start that such things do have power.
Anyway, maybe a sequel could explore the possibility of demon-human coexistence. If it's not already clear by now, I loved this movie, and I know you loved it too, but I sincerely hope that my review made you love it more.
