indian dish taste with smile

There were all Indian spices and ingredients which were cooked in Indian style. It felt more like an Indian movie than a Thai one.

Some things that bothered me were that firstly when two people of different languages were talking then the use of English was fine but when two people of the same language were talking then the use of English did not seem right to me especially when you are making a movie where two cultures and language is being shown. Secondly, it seemed as if the artists had hold themselves. Their acting and expressions were not coming out naturally. especially the two moments i like to mention 1st Risa and tim's dance and 2nd Monica's running in the climax.

Overall it is a good romcom. Believe me, this movie will make you smile.

Thailand-indian vibes are surprisingly dazzling!!!!!!

This is the most lovable and funny movie I would have immagined it could happening in thailand!!!!!! the acting and cinematography so well done and performed full of vivid colors, I should say it is SO HIGHLY RECOMMENDED and I am in love with the mixture of thailand and indian acting, it will be unforgettable for me "against the first review mentioned being forgettable"!!!!

This movie is so different from all the traditional thailand lakorns as there is a rare and few carrying this funny and comedic side, thailand lakorns are all known about dramatically speaking with so much tragedy and violence but this movie will make another new conception of the funny thailand shows!!!!!!

It was a great idea to portray the break up and reunion of all exes in this light and funny way that most of thailand shows are missing in their actings, this show should be more appreciated and rated more highly, I wish it will be more renowned in future as it is just today released.

Risa carried all the show and she performed well in this movie with her amazing dance with all the people thailand and indian around her was so fascinating and her english talking was not bad and her feelings when thrown in her exs hands was greatly acted as it was the core of the subject of movie, she will not confess her weakness just hiring Tim her other second ex to have the pride as she is not in need of Arun "first ex of Risa" but deeply she needed Tim without knowing this fact.

Tim could have been better, he was little dull and boring but as paired with Risa was a great combination of acting and was her healing from her numerous break ups, he was so good in sword duel and saving Arun's father as said "jack of all trades" and "hero" so well said by Risa, he didn't have the audacity to confess to her but just making fun of her was too not bad to add more for this comedic show, he too carried all the show with risa in the dancing scene, I loved them being together to the end and how they pretended they came back together to save her being weak in front of Arun and how Risa threw Tim in water as pissed her of!!!!

Arun on the other side was so greatly choosen as the indian guy boyfriend of Risa and I liked when he backed up to not commit a mistake against Monica when approaching Risa in a wrong moment, Monica his bride to be as the other was too cute and well choosen as him, he is careless guy who left Risa and surprised to meet her again as his wedding organiser and treat her as an old friend but all the indian actors here was so suitable and well combined with the thailand one.

Risa's gang friends Jan and Offy was too funny and loving when portraying the story of Risa's break ups in their rap song amazingly done.

I would recommend SO STRONGLY this amazing movie, the way Risa moved from Arun after the mostly laughable truck scene, when Monica caught Arun will fall in mistake with Risa when reminiscing their old memories, they convert the dramatic moment to a funny one this is when I FALL IN LOVE THE MOST WITH THIS UNPRECENTED MOVIE, it was too when enjoying the dancing and happy colorfully moments of traditional indian wedding!!!! Everyone is lovable and really so worthy to watch it for a great time to choose this magnificent movie.

JUST GIVE IT A TRY and you will not regret it at all, I wish it will get more high marks and pleasure from all watchers, it was a great option to watch after being in a drama slump, you will be transferred to another happy world, forgetting your surrounding the moment you will click play!!!!!

Fun and Forgettable watch!!!

First things first... I'm an Indian and I should mention this because this review will be from that POV....Now , if you are someone who doesn't want to watch a movie without giving much thought to it then this is that perfect afternoon watch for you. Now coming to the,
1. Story Plot : As given it is not something with that much depth and along the movie none of the characters have any major development and you can almost ignore the side characters because they are present there for some reason which you can very well avoid. You can avoid them just like the writers avoided a lot of serious stuffs in a comedic manner which by the way is not something you need to brush off. It was something that Thai industry does ignoring some major societal issues.

2. Setting : Apart from the actors and the prime location nothing is Thai but is it Indian ?! NO They took the Indian wedding theme and did research a lot I guess because you will feel that you are viewing an Indian Wedding (a blah one ofcourse). Also then somehow you will also get a touch of K-dramas because of its all cute scenes and expressions.

3. Acting: Bright is someone who knows what he is required to do and does the job accordingly , there is very little that he adds on his own but as he has his own charm , it does the job and I like him on screen coming to Bella , she was literally forced to speak English (I know she is Thai but half British) and if she can't speak English that we'll writers could have done something to it rather than just going with the flow of that very bad accent. Now Mahir and Anahita are a known name in Indian Television and they were pretty much on the same page as the story and everything given that they are Indian and they know what's next.

4. Music : Here! I loved that scene and also Anahita talked so much about it that at one point I was waiting for this scene. It was well executed with a pretty good dance to go along and also Bright danced to an Indian song ... I'm happy!

5. Climax : The chase scene was hilarious. No doubt that made me feel like okay this is an Indian comedy movie and it gave a nostalgia of 90s comedy movies . It was a fun watch.

OVERALL:
This was movie with a cliche plot but fun to watch. It's just that there's a very little meat to the bone . It's a good watch in a lazy afternoon where you can have a good laugh even thinking about your ex!

This is my personal view on this Indo-Thai take, please note that I'm Indian and I looked at this entire thing from that POV. If you are someone who is new to this entire setting them it will obviously blow your mind it's cute. Happy Watching!

The best live action of Mulan. Should be more recognized

To begin with, I would like to say that the film exceeded all my expectations, the story is very good and sometimes I even think that some adaptations were more coherent with the story of the cartoon. Mulan is my favorite princess in life and this film completed me a lot (Disney's live action didn't complete me but this one did). This followed the story original much more exactly, the 12 years of war, the sacrifices they took, everything was much improved and concrete. I literally cried at the war scene when they sang while the soldiers were being sacrificed. The songs in this film are perfect and emotional (even the post credits moved me). I was sad about some losses and even though the ending took the best path for the story to become more real, I felt the sadness, I hoped there would be at least one kiss (in my mind, the ending remained the same as the Disney cartoon and that's all that matters).

Kim Seon Ho's outstanding performance

The Childe is a riveting Korean movie that drew me in primarily because of Kim Seon Ho's outstanding performance. He effortlessly portrays a character that is both chilling and humorous, showcasing his versatile acting skills. The storyline is captivating, keeping the audience on the edge of their seats with a perfect blend of suspense and thrill. As the narrative unfolds, be prepared for an unexpected twist that adds an extra layer of intrigue to the plot.

One memorable aspect of the film is the quote, "I am pro," which resonates throughout the story, leaving a lasting impression. The OST complements the movie beautifully, enhancing the overall viewing experience. Make sure not to miss the surprise hidden after the credits – it adds an extra dimension to the already engaging narrative. It is a must-watch for those who appreciate a well-crafted story, impeccable acting, and a soundtrack that perfectly complements the film's atmosphere. Kim Seon Ho's performance alone makes it worth the watch, leaving audiences eagerly anticipating what comes next in this enthralling cinematic experience.

Caricatural but fun at first, collapsing in its second half with conflicts not handled well

This movie features an arranged marriage between a young 16 year old rich heiress and her handsome high school senpai. The premisse of the story as well as the tone of the film is very parodic and with a lot of humour/over-acting as well as non-sensical elements. I was in need of some mindless fluff and the first part of the story really fit the brief: it was light and fun, perfect to put your brain at full rest...However, I was disappointed by the second half of the story and with the turn taken by the scenario.

I found the acting relatively okay for the main characters and the second male lead. The couple was very platonic and itlacked a bit in terms of tension but I found them overall very cute together. It was even more average for the support roles for which I think the actors and actresses were directed to act over-the-top but it was very dumb and missed the mark sometimes in terms of comedic timing because of the exaggeration.

The production value was standard for the high school japanese movie rom-com and the ost was as well forgettable with some jpop song adequate for the genre but leaving no real impression on the viewer.

I would not necessarily recommend this movie as I think it collapsed in its second half with a shift to a more "dramatic" tone with some internal and external conflicts that were not handled very well and a resolution that I found very expected and quite cringy. If you are looking for a very light movie to watch, easy for the brain and some mindless fun, you might still want to give it a shot. Sometimes, it is clearly what you need and it is perfectly valid as well.

better than the series

Overall: this is a re-edit of Burger/King's scenes from Burger's perspective (it has basically the exact same plot as a Japanese BL). First released as 11 short episodes and then in a movie format https://youtu.be/M-13TVFe9g8?si=GvAElSlfmAtFen4j It solved a lot of the problems that I had with Hit Bite Love, though I think they could have improved even more with the footage they had. My review of Hit Bite Love https://mydramalist.com/profile/blcompilations/reviews/254503/ Aired on Jinloe's YouTube channel.

Content Warnings: hit, kick, coercion, manipulation, non con touching

What I Liked
- sweet/cute moments
- a few funny parts
- how King was up front about what he wanted

Room For Improvement
- a voice over/exposition dump to start it but I didn't take off points
- the stereotype of a yelling trans woman
- in episodes 8 and 9 there were brief flashbacks to scenes that they didn't include in this version, I think they could have edited a bit better
- Burger is too reluctant for too long and King is a bit too aggressive, they could have also edited this to tone it down a bit
- Burger used that resume against King though it was toned down
- we needed 1 additional scene for the ending because it felt incomplete, even if they had shown us texts they had written to one another where Burger asks King to go on a romantic date

even ghosts are lonely

Water Ghost aka Bottom of the Water is a mediocre horror movie. short enough to keep the interest and concentration but lacking in production quality and some inconsistent plot development. the legends of Korean Water Ghosts have a lot of potential but i don't see anything specially noteworthy here.
Plus of the movie is atmospheric scenery and suspenseful music. it has many great shots, and i was surprised how good the trailer for the movie looks but the movie itself doesn't fulfil the expectations and the acting is not that great.

unexpected religious experience

As a Christian i am not very familiar with Buddhism but i admire the life of Buddhist monks and this movie more than anything shows the human and spiritual side of them. also the differences between them. No one is perfect but everyone has his purpose.
it was a very enjoyable production for the reason that the movie offers a 2-hour escape from every day life and makes you think about living in simplicity in the monastery and with the nature.
I was expecting a light comedy drama but this movie made me think about my life vocation and the meaning of life and death.

A stomach-full and heartfelt Food BL with a lightweight and slow pace slice of life story.

The movie is very subtle, lightweight and to our heart's content. Beside A LOT of food, the movie captures stories of two college students with their struggles about living tgt, study, career and life. It’s a very soft and peaceful movie with just a little bit of angst. Some people may regard it Bromance. and it's understandable because they stay bros 95% of movie. But there's a confession. Aki didn’t let Haru finish it but we all know what it is. At the end, they promised to live together "in any cases" and "drink plum wine together every year". Doesn’t it sound like a proposal? And I think they leave the romance for Sequel! Yes, there is a sequel!
If you like What Did You Eat Yesterday series or She loves to cook, She loves to eat, you will like this one because it takes a similar approach – telling stories on the dining table. You hardly hear any confession, but their bonding is very strong “no place for anyone else".
What I don’t like about it is the "legendary" yellow color we see everywhere in JBL. Everything else is good and enjoyable. However, average BL watchers may expect the story to speed up and spice up (more drama) a little
I think it's up to you whether you like it or not, just like some people like light foods, others like spicy ones.

Good reborn/revenge-plot with a solid storyline

This is a really nice reborn/revenge-plot story that might have a simple storyline but contains all the ingredients it needs.
Character wise:
The Second Prince is a ruthless and power hungry man that will stop at nothing (including eliminating his brothers) to become Crown Prince and later ascend the throne.
FL is the daughter of a powerful General and the obvious choice for the Second Prince to marry - and in her first life he does, since FL sacrifices her own happiness for her family.
The Emperor’s Nephew is a warm and caring man who grew up with and loves FL wholeheartedly. He will stop at nothing in order to protect FL - even at the cost of his own life.
Acting wise this is very good and the actors do a fantastic job with their characters.
Well, if you love a good reborn/revenge-plot with a solid storyline, this is definitely well worth watching.

deliciously sweet (please watch so we get the sequel :)

Overall: this is a gentle slice of life food-themed movie. Runtime is 90 minutes with a funny post credit scene. Aired on GagaOOLala.

Notes: see my comment with a spoiler as to a tag that I think this series/description is missing.
They have already filmed the sequel https://natalie.mu/eiga/news/527213

What I Liked
- delicious looking food
- cute/sweet moments
- funny moments
- cleared up problems that cropped up relatively quickly/easily

Room For Improvement
- how Aki didn't know that about Haru (around 46 minutes)
- I think this relationship/what they don't do would be pretty unrealistic in real life but I didn't deduct points because it's fiction

Color me impressed

I have watched a few Japanese shows and movies that were dark or mind bending thrillers but this was my first movie and I was not disappointed. I’m looking forward to a follow up. I’m sure it won’t disappoint either.

This movie was better than expected for a suspenseful love story. The writer did a good job building in the backstory and the blooming love story which I’ve noticed is a talent of the Japanese film industry. The actors successfully exuded the emotions and character depth that draws you into the story. Also, absolutely loved the costumes since I’m a costumer myself. Everything went together nicely to give a beautiful and addictive story.

It’s Interesting

I always had a question why… a person with criminal background can still be a teacher… but it’s China laws I don’t know… The casting was awesome and the totally watched it more then 2 times. Even though I have not directly experienced bullying but this movie gives me a idea… but I still like the ending how she stopped a little girl from being bullied… why is she a teacher though. Lastly the romance between them was kind of cute not gonna lie. it will be cuter if there was more of it. Anyways highly recommend

Jackie Chan’s Sentimental Stuntman Comedy Is a One-Trick but Fun-Trick Pony

Jackie Chan’s recent output has been somewhat hit or miss and I still consider The Foreigner the best film he has done in years; the trailers made Ride On look like it was going to be more of the same and although there is still plenty of classic Chan humour I wasn’t expecting to get as emotionally involved in the story with Jackie giving one of his best performances in years.

I’ll admit I was nearly sobbing by the end as I’m a softy for anything involving animals and Ride On’s greatest find is the horse Red Hair. It must have taken an age to train the horse to do all the tricks he does in the film but it could be argued that he actually gives a performance; I know that sounds crazy but if you see the film you’ll understand.

Ride On is a love letter to the stunt industry with Jackie playing aging stuntman Luo whose career has seen better days but when he reunites with his estranged daughter his fortunes change and his life takes a dramatic turnaround.

It must be the hardest thing for someone who has relied on their body be it in stunts or action movies to make a living but when age catches up to them they have to face the harsh reality that they can’t really do it anymore. Jackie uses footage from his classic films throughout so this feels like it’s a biography of his life disguised as a movie giving it extra emotional heft.

Although this is more of a drama there are still plenty of fight scenes with Jackie proving that even despite his advancing years he still has what it takes in the action department; his dedication to the craft is unmatched which is why he is one of the greats.

Despite having several fight scenes Ride On is a little slow at times and may put some viewers off who are just looking for a straightforward fight film. I found my patience rewarded as I was fully engaged with the story and couldn’t wait to see how it would all work out in the end.

Wu Jing shows up in an extended cameo but he has no fight scenes so if you’re expecting that you’ll be disappointed.

Overall, Ride On is a heartfelt love letter to stunts and the action industry with Jackie Chan at his best and an almost scene stealing turn from a horse (never thought I’d write that). There are a few fight scenes to keep viewers interested but this is more character based than action driven.
