Good in the beginning, boring from the middle on.
This series go well up to the middle episodes. At some point it gets a bit ridiculous and boring, with an annoying music playing in the back all the time, while the characters whisper supposed profound words to each other, while rose petals fall from the roof !! I imagined they have roses planted in each and every roof of the palaces!! And they bloom through the winter !!!Really, from the middle of the series on, it really gets hard to keep watching it !!
And the make up of the actors is terrible. Sometimes they look like gueishas with marble white faces and the makeupers achieved the unprecedented feat of making Zhang Linghe not looking good !!
I do not recomend it if you do not want to be frustated !!

Really loved this drama!
I watched this drama 2 months back and I really liked it. The plot is very interesting and well-developed. I LOVE the OST a lot, and it fits very well with the drama (especially Before the Eternal Night.) The visuals were stunning, and the drama was quite impressive for 32 episodes.Spoiler alert btw
The ending was also AMAZING, especially in the part where Miaomiao chooses to rewrite the novel's ending for the characters' sake, managed to prevent the Heaven's Catastrophe with the help of Ziqi and the novel's author. I also like how most side characters didn't really die, they just stayed in the novel.
Overall, I think this is a very entertaining drama! If there is a season 2, I'd love to watch! Definitely my favorite transmigration drama, and it is my second favorite drama of all time.

Best drama I have ever watched. I recommend watching it!
I didn't think much of this drama when I started it. But then after a while I kept watching it and it immediately became my favorite. I like everything about this drama, especially the OST! I also like how it has a lot of plot twists, they show up more often as the story ends (for example, Fu Ling is Bai Xi, Bai Shuo's sister.) I believe it has a well-written plot and the main couple and side couples have great chemistry. The only thing I didn't like is that everyone except Fan Yue and Bai Shuo have died in the end, but overall, this drama has left a big imprint on me. Still my favorite, Moonlight Mystique forever! I watched it twice, definitely planning to watch again someday!Was this review helpful to you?

I love the chemistry between the main leads I mean they are amazing together just perfect.....I loved this couple from perfect 10 liners series and now after this series they are one of the favourites💜....this series was so wholesome....if you like the couple I think you should definitely watch it there is no doubt in it💗...but if you're looking for some realistic series which elaborates about ground reality then this is not cup of your tea...Overall it's cute,fun and very romantic series like you can literally feel butterflies in your stomach when they say "teerak" to each other 😩🤌...I just love these pookies and I really want to see them together in another series to come 💕

That was completely... Unnecessary
I don't know what to say except for ... What's the point.Aside for the not really needed fan-service ( you know what I mean) there is nothing "special" about this.
We have half an episode the two leads talking about green toilet walls, and the second half is an interview that is very boring and add nothing to the story.
The only 2 things that made me laugh was the way they ended Ken, like really!? No police and no prison or anything, no attornment or paying for his crimes just kill him off the easy way, which was already implied in the last few mins of the last episode in the show but we like to make sure he is dead so we kill him properly this time. ~~
Also I liked that Kelvin asked Veir the question I needed an answer for which is why did he stick to Kelvin and didn't run away!? Why does he even love him after what he did and how can he still be together with him!?
Sadly the answers were very disappointing and didn't make any sense so this was one of the loose ends that they tried to tie it up and failed miserably IMO ~
Aside from that, it was completely skippable, just watch it if you want to see FortPeat in some action or just love the show so much that I want to see more of the very boring life of the characters ~~

As ever Force and Book are great together
As with all Force and Book dramas their chemistry is sizzling and the plot is a great all rounder Rom com. Don’t expect masses of skin or sultry moments so if you’re looking for the latter you’ll be disappointed.The drama revolves around Cher a quirky and amusing intern at a gaming company and the boss and company owner Gun. Gun has been burnt in the past and has put up huge walls to protect his heart from both boyfriends and friends who are boys alike. Cher comes barrelling into his life and Gun has absolutely no idea how to deal with him. What starts off as amusement in Gun’s eyes soon becomes infatuation and then love. Cher is drawn to his grumpy and standoffish boss and what starts off ‘as annoying the boss as a way to pass the time’ turns into much more as he peels away the layers of distrust to find a gentle soul underneath.
Great production values, an amusing script and plenty of believable supporting characters with interesting sub plots of their own all adding depth to this drama.
Would I watch it again? Probably not but it’s only because there is so much more I want to watch out there.

A story that transcends between status and lineage
April 22, 2026I am so in love with this cdrama. I really love the characters, the plot, the prognosis. It got me hooked and captivated for all of it. I feel like there was so much nuance that has been happening and it really made the whole journey fantastic.
I also like how strong bolded the female lead is, she may not be the smartest, but she sure as heck knows how to stand her ground and defend herself. I feel like even playing into their power dynamics, they are a pretty level headed and a stable couple. And the way, they both really do things for the sake of their own people and community is just goals.
Not gonna lie, there are some subplots that could have been expanded to be honest since they felt a bit lacking. Regardless, I am sure that the production did the best they can do given that this is an adaptation from the novel.

Better than expected but for the wrong reasons.
I started it thinking I'm definitely going to be disappointed with something, mostly the story or the pace, and in the second episode I was so confused about the one year ago Vs Chiang Mai Vs present and sometimes in present 6 hours ago .... I mean wtf!? The jumping in timeline is supposed to make us excited or at least intrigued about what is going to happen, alas it didn't, it just made us more confused and in another time I would have skipped or dropped it but I'm kinda glad I stuck to it~~First the story: I liked it for a different reason than i thought i would, not because it was a BL nor because of the chemistry between the leads, I just loved the whole psychological idea about Love Vs Power and how when obsession and mental issues are thrown in the mix it made everything too complicated.
This is probably the first drama that halfway through it I don't wish for a happy end.
I genuinely wished Veir and Kelvin wouldn't be together, because of the amount of pain and hurt Kelvin has inflicted on Veir.
And I understand he had his redemption arc but still I couldn't like him as much, I accept the ending but let's say, if it was a more realistic end, I'd like it more ~~
Characters are slightly odd, we have fathers that literally hate their kids lol why, no idea, and the way Veir was not so kidnapped by Kelvin, like why don't you just leave, mate? And maybe call the cops or ask you father for help!! Just do something!! Why are you willingly staying with someone so f**ed up in the head like that, and don't, please don't give me the "he loves him" reason cause I'll literally puke!!
Also, I wasn't a fan of Kelvin but I like how they made him bipolar and depressed also let's not forget the childhood trauma and daddy issues that he has, I mean with a mixture like that it's kinda understandable what he did, on the other hand, the way they made Veir so forgiving and - for a playboy- a hopeless romantic, it didn't make any sense.
I chose to write this review after watching the special episode, and despite skipping most of it, I admire the fact that Kelvin asked Veir why did he fall for him? And why is he so nice and forgiving?
Unfortunately, the writer gave us the right questions, but not the right answers!! Wth Veir? Your answers doesn't make any sense, if you had simply said "that's what the director instructed" I'd have accepted that more, but to give us no reason that would make us understand your selfless behaviour towards someone who tricked you, hurt you, kidnapped you, and was the main cause for your BFF death, not to mention causing your dad's company to go bankrupt, and guilt-trap and trick you... I can go on btw ~~ this gotta be the worst Stockholm syndrome story ever ~
Overall, I loved the psychological mix, but the overall execution had so many flaws and things that I didn't like, however I have to be fair and say that I enjoyed this show so I rated it higher than I thought I would ~~

ML has no personality
the storyline itself in theory is quite cute although I’m not really sure why she was chasing him. one thing I really hate about this is that the male lead has NO personality whatsoever outside of being a cold person who likes the female lead.I also can’t tell if it’s the writing or the actor but to me it seems like Dylan Wang can’t act. Like he feels so stiff to me. Bai Lu was carrying. His acting also made it seem like they have no chemistry but I’ve seen their interview clips their chemistry is fine so idk what happened?!
I also did not really care for the side plot about her best friend. Overall it’s a cute rom com I guess but just not my taste.

What a Tangled Web
This drama had great potential, but lacked supporting cast talent. Too much of the story revolved around the shenanigans of the leads playing and in my opinion did not give the FL the right level if wisdom and understanding someonevtrsined in martial arts woukd have. The focus on her character was of her being uneducated, self-centered and unwilling to learn unless there was an emergency. This was a great discredit to the actress (who is wuite talented) and the role she played in the drama.The male lead iften came across as condescending and a bit of a wuss initially, but his character was given room to develop.
The 2nd leads were vastly underplayed and given less screen time than their characters should have.
The villain and his sidekick *always* made the same facial expressions, their acting seemed quite forced and lacked the ‘evil’ behavior conveyed through body language that their roles needed. Their characters needed more desoeration and drive as the story progressed; rather than suddenly throwing intimate scenes of them where even those scenes were awkward and frankly, boring.
Even the older actors seem to lack enthusiasm and dedication to ant type of emotional depth in their roles.
The opening graphics were nit really impressive, but the OST had some modern music with a touch of the traditional Peking opera thrown in the vocals. This is a fascinating genre and was beautifully done.
Opening grsphics were merely scene clips from the drama with a little haze and glitter thrown in. It lacked much of the creative artistry that many costume dramas have. Same gies fir tge ending credit artistry.
I know this doubds very critical initially, but it wasnt all bad. Despite the things already mentioned, it was an easy watch. Even though there were evil intentions by some if the characters, there was absolutely zero angst, and plenty of rediculous characters who bumbled the plots of the villains.
I watched the entire drama, and it was a good break from some if the emotional and sensory overload dramas I have watched lately. That being said, gave it a 7.5 overall, but it will not be a drama I would rewatch.

One of the standout elements for me is the OST. The theme songs are not only memorable but also deeply fitting for the scenes—they elevate the emotions and linger in your mind even after the episode ends. It’s the kind of soundtrack you’ll want to listen to again and again.
The acting is another strong point. Both the male and female leads delivered outstanding performances. Lin Yunrui as Zhuge Yue is absolutely captivating. He is not only handsome but also brings a mysterious and powerful aura to his role. His portrayal of the Shadow King of Ximeng, and later as King Ximeng, is incredibly compelling. He perfectly embodies a character who is calm, strategic, and intense, while also showing subtle emotional depth. His martial arts scenes are sharp and commanding, making him even more mesmerizing to watch. I found myself completely hooked on his character.
On the other hand, Chu Qiao continues to impress. Despite being young, she delivers a strong and convincing performance. Her swordsmanship and archery skills are executed beautifully, showing both strength and elegance. She’s not just a warrior—she’s intelligent, resilient, and graceful. As the Queen of Ximeng, she shines even more. Her presence feels regal, and her Ximeng hairstyle and styling suit her perfectly, enhancing her beauty and authority.
What makes the drama even more enjoyable is the chemistry between the leads. Their relationship feels natural and emotionally engaging, especially in the moments where they save and protect each other. There’s a balance of strength and vulnerability in their bond that makes you root for them. Watching them together brings so much satisfaction, and I genuinely hope their story leads to a happy ending.
The supporting cast also deserves recognition. Their performances add depth and color to the story, making the world feel more alive. The second male lead is particularly interesting—his obsession with Chu Qiao adds a layer of chaos and tension, making the narrative more intense and unpredictable.
Overall, this drama is a complete package—great story, strong performances, beautiful visuals, and an unforgettable soundtrack. It’s an emotional and exciting journey that I truly enjoyed from beginning to end.

This Drama Had So Much Potential
I will say I enjoyed this drama until I reached episode 88-90 where the female lead, Oh Jang Mi breaks up with the male lead, Baek Ho. Her move totally destroyed Baek Ho. Her betrayal, made infinitely worse by announcing her marriage to his brother, Oh Jung Ho. She makes this drastic move to protect Baek Ho but does she really believe Chae Wha, her future mother in law, will honor her promise to not kill her family or Baek Ho ? Chae Wha has no honor can never be trusted . So why marry Oh Jin Ho? Also how can Oh Jun Ho marry Oh JangMi when he knows his brother loves her more than life itself. Oh Jang Mi should have found a better way to seek her revenge and get justice but instead chose a way to totally destroy the love of her life, Baek Ho.So if you step back and look where we are in this drama, there is so much sadness that personally, I really can’t watch. Does anyone besides me see any redeeming value in the FLs behavior because I just don’t see any happy moments….. just incredible sadness. I need a reason to keep watching this drama and right now I have none .

Highly Underrated- no sugercoating....the real story
I really don't understand the low rating because this drama is so good.I love the acting – everyone did a great job. Joo Young was the star of the drama for me – she totally nailed the character. Also, Ji Hoon shines in every scene.
I completely get why Tae and Sang started chasing power. They want to become people that others can't touch, use, or throw away. To the rich, regular people are just pawns. I love that Tae and Sang know what they want and will do anything to get it – even putting up with each other's shady methods. It's not an easy journey, as you can see from the ending, which was just perfect.
The storytelling worked for me. Corruption, abuse of power, sex trafficking – nothing new, and sadly, it will never go away. Money and power run everything. What I love most is that this drama doesn't sugarcoat anything. It shows the real world exactly as it is – people doing awful things to get rich, famous, or powerful.
I was hooked from the beginning and excited to watch every next episode. I don't get the low rating, but I'm not surprised – this kind of drama isn't really appreciated on this site.
Overall, I really enjoyed it. I loved watching Tae – life kept knocking him down, but he never stayed down. He always fought back.
Verdict: A powerful, underrated drama that deserves more love.

Sweet but slightly off...
This drama was like a store-bought cupcake for me, the ones wrapped in plastic. It hits the itch for something sweet, but not quite what you were hoping for. It’s almost there, but slightly off in a way that’s hard to ignore.For me, the chemistry felt lacking. I liked their banter as friends, but I never really felt a romantic pull between the characters.
The silver lining in this drama, however, was Ye Shilan. She felt three-dimensional. Alive in a way that is rare in fluffy romances. Her trauma felt deep-rooted. Every decision, every behavior came back to it. You could see how her experiences had shaped her. She is a character who carries her world on her own - one who had to grow up too fast. She doesn’t rely on anyone because she knows firsthand that they can disappear. It was refreshing to see how well-founded her character felt, and her character growth.
The male lead, Lu Zhaoxi, however, was flat as paper. Nothing was interesting about him. He had no struggles, no dreams, no aspirations. He was just a fluffy green flag, without any depth at all. Now, this isn’t necessarily a problem. I’ve watched lots of those characters, and I can even love those stories if the chemistry is there. But when it isn’t, the characters need to do more.
The secondary couple, though almost non-existent, had a lot more chemistry than the first.
I really liked the village setting in the beginning, and I wish more of the story had taken place there. That atmosphere felt like where the drama was at its strongest. Instead, we got an office romance, which wasn’t nearly as fun.
And even the OSTs followed the same pattern, almost there but not quite. They were a little repetitive, and perhaps we just needed one or two more songs to really carry it through.
That was Hi Venus for me. Sweet, but probably not something I would find myself craving again.
