Slowburn to a Turtle Race but we arrived

Overall: Finally finished this and while I think it would have been better as a 24ep drama because they would have had less unnecessarily focus on irrelevant subplots and side characters, I enjoyed the ending when we finally arrived. The writing felt like it had to keep causing obstacles for our main leads and it got redundant. I always prefer it when our leads overcome obstacles vs. being separated by them, and once they got together, that didn't break them up at least. But the obstacles began to feel like filler, and it diluted the overall story.

First Impression from Ep 1 - 23.

Ep 1 - 6 were so good, I literally couldn't stop. I was kicking my feet!! I love Miles Wei so bad, I love him as a green flag & I was excited that this is the first GREAT pure romance of 2026. I had been in POJ haze with it ending this week and this is exactly what I had been missing from my drama palate!!! I was cracking up and covering my face from second hand embarrassment all through these first episodes.
Ep 7 - 10 I remained invested but I am I craving some progress, even if it is small.
Ep 10 - 13 we had some flirting that resulted in NO PROGRESS.
Ep 14 By now I am more invested in the best friend's story than our leading couple, and I am bored with our leads.
Ep 15 -21 I am so tired of the second main lead getting all this screen time, especially when his feelings are clearly one sided and he feels more like a nuisance than an obstacle. It is just delaying the progress of our leads who are doing a good enough job on their own at turning a slow burn into a turtle race. I am disappointed, at this rate this drama definitely should have been 24 eps vs 30. Because they wouldn't be butchering the pacing this much if they had less time to drag this out. I am at a point that I am ready to put it down so I can watch the ending later because I don't have the patience for this pacing.
EP 22: PROGRESS FINALLY but of course it is the babiest of baby steps. At least by the end of ep 22 we are on the heels of a reveal for his sister writing the other story.

The plot continued to get diluted by misunderstandings and miscommunications from here and it took way too long to overcome them. It felt like they were trying to fill space to allow our second lead couple room to bloom when they could have just moved that storyline up sooner.

Not a BL fan… but this completely changed my mind

I’m not usually into BL dramas, so I went into Love You Teacher with very low expectations—but by the end of the series, I was genuinely surprised by how much I enjoyed it.

What stood out to me the most is how natural everything felt. The story didn’t rely on exaggerated scenes or forced moments. Instead, it focused on gradual development, allowing the characters and their relationships to grow in a way that felt real and easy to connect with.

The chemistry between the leads is subtle but effective. It’s not overly dramatic, yet you can clearly feel the emotions building throughout the series. Even as someone who doesn’t normally watch this genre, I found myself getting invested in their journey.

Another thing I appreciated is the balance. The series mixes light, fun moments with emotional scenes, so it never feels too heavy or too slow. It kept me interested from beginning to end without losing momentum.
Of course, it’s not completely perfect—there are a few predictable moments—but overall, the execution is strong enough that it doesn’t take away from the experience.

Honestly, I didn’t expect to finish this series, let alone enjoy it this much. But here I am, actually recommending it—even to people who aren’t BL fans like me.

It should've been 60 episodes or 2 seasons

Background plot- 60%
Romance - 35%
Misc comedy - 5%

Background plot - Interesting
Romantic chemistry - OUTSTANDING
Misc comedy - Funny
Production value - Pretty good
Direction / editing - OUTSTANDING

The first thing you need to know is that Zhang Ling He has never been better than this drama. I've watched everything he's ever been in and this is his best role to date. He's never acted better or looked better, and this role was made for him.

** I guess you should also know that the hero and the heroine are both badasses. However, the hero's badassery is a bit more subtle, dignified, and refined, I would even say clever, than the heroine's. When we join the story, the hero has already proven himself on the battlefield time and time again from a very young age, so it made sense (to me) that the heroine's battlefield scenes were featured more prominently than the hero's as the story progresses as she is unproven. That said, hero is also slightly overpowered. For example, while recovering from internal injuries and broken legs, he kills 20+ highly trained assassins by himself. Later, while drugged, he kills another 20+ palace guards like it's no big deal. He does have a lot of fight scenes, but it's mostly him killing a bunch of people while somehow incapacitated.
Whereas the heroine is shown defeating a few key generals in one-on-one combat. This seemed to rub some viewers the wrong way (that she didn't need to be rescued by the hero) so I'm disclosing it here. It seems silly to me that we're in 2026 and some people still want a woman to be helpless. But. . . whatever. My point is, both main characters are capable, with the hero being shown as slightly more refined and clever, which makes sense since he was classically trained in all aspects of scholarly pursuits and war strategy, whereas she was raised in the countryside and taught martial arts in secret.
ANYWAY.

Tian Xi Wei also did a fantastic job. I'm fairly new to her as an actress but I will be seeking out her other shows, she did great as Changyu.

I also have to mention the direction choices. Some of the scenes in this drama (direction and acting-wise) are so epic, I feel certain we'll see them mimicked in the future. I was so impressed with this director, just like I was with his previous dramas, especially 'Perfect Stranger' and 'Blossom.' I will make sure to watch all of his projects in the future. He's amazing.

The story is fundamentally about two people who are destined for each other, but because of treachery 17 years ago, it takes some unusual / odd circumstances to finally bring them together. I feel certain I'll be rewatching this one over and over. It's just that good.

No romance, only action fantasy

Watching for romance stayed because of fantasy plot , just skip this if you are here for romance the first half doesn't show romance in good way FML will always forcely kiss ml everytime that's sexual harrasment and she doesn't multiple times those scenes are so awkward and embarrassing, one sided relationship and when they're finally mutual there's not a single kiss scene? are you serious? just why add romance ? the fantasy story was good,I got hooked up I was going to drop because of mo romance but stayed, the ending is good but not satisfying? why is she dressed as pearl but called xualing I don't understand? All characters were good, fantasy also good just could've add little bit normal romance in this ? the 2nd half is full on only action fantasy that's
it only 1st half they're more together later they're either fighting or dying ,
STORY IS GOOD BUT NOT SATISFYING OR TO BE REWATCHED

A Heartfelt and Beautiful Story That Stays With You

Love You Teacher is a deeply emotional and beautifully told series that captures both the warmth and complexity of human relationships. From start to finish, it delivers a story that feels sincere, engaging, and meaningful.

One of the strongest aspects of the series is its characters. Each one is written with depth and realism, making it easy to understand their struggles, decisions, and growth. The development throughout the story feels natural, allowing viewers to truly connect with them on an emotional level.

The chemistry between the leads is undeniable and plays a huge role in making the story so compelling. Their interactions feel genuine, filled with both tender and intense moments that keep you invested.

In addition, the series does a great job balancing lighter, heartwarming scenes with deeper, more emotional themes. The pacing is well-managed, gradually revealing more about the characters and their pasts without losing momentum.

The acting is impressive across the board, with performances that bring authenticity to every scene. Combined with strong cinematography and fitting music, the overall atmosphere of the series becomes even more impactful.

Overall, Love You Teacher is more than just a romance—it’s a story about growth,
understanding, and emotional connection. It leaves a lasting impression and is definitely worth watching.

A bond forged beyond intentions

Pursuit of Jade didn’t just win me over, it settled somewhere deep inside me and refused to leave. It’s the kind of story that starts quietly, almost cautiously, and then slowly wraps itself around you until you realize you’re no longer just watching it, you’re living it. What begins as something calculated, a relationship built on necessity and hidden intentions, transforms into something real, something chosen, something that feels inevitable. And watching that shift happen, step by step, was one of the most beautiful parts of the journey.

The main leads are unforgettable. Not because they’re perfect, but because they feel real in every possible way. Their chemistry isn’t loud or immediate, it lingers in the air, in the pauses, in the way they look at each other when words aren’t enough. Every interaction feels meaningful, layered with tension, softness, and things left unsaid. You don’t just see them fall in love, you feel it growing with them, through pain, trust, distance, and everything they endure together.

But what truly made this drama feel full and alive were all the relationships around them. The other couples brought different shades of love, each one with its own story, its own struggles, its own quiet moments that added depth to the narrative. None of them felt unnecessary. Instead, they made the world feel bigger, richer, more human.

And then there’s the Northwest Pig Butcher Squad. More than a group, they became family. Loud, chaotic, loyal in a way that feels unbreakable. They were there in the lightest moments, making you laugh, and in the darkest ones, holding everything together. Their bond added warmth, heart, and a sense of belonging that made the story feel even more real.

Visually, the drama is breathtaking in a quiet, almost poetic way. The colors, the scenography, the costumes, everything feels intentional. There’s a softness in the calmer scenes and a raw intensity in the more emotional ones, and that contrast creates something incredibly immersive. It’s the kind of drama where even silence feels full.

By the end, I didn’t feel like I had finished a story. I felt like I had lived through something. Like I had to say goodbye to people and a world that had slowly become familiar, almost comforting. And that feeling stayed with me.

10/10 — not just unforgettable, but something I’ll carry with me for a long time. 💫

I tend to avoid on going drama because I'm more into binge watching when it comes to drama. But this is the drama I decided to watch on going after Moonlite Mystique. This time I surrendered by the beautifulness of the story of Xie Zheng and Chang Yu.

Story,
Such a good and refreshing story. I loveeeeee the story so much. I never knew that pig butcher profesion could be this atractive. Even if the premise were common, the fallen noble man saved by countryside female. But I love how the writer and production team executed this premise so beautiful and engaging. You can find a lot of promising premises of story. Like hidden identity, twisted fate of royal bloodline, politic-caused-by-love intrigue, noble-common-people love story, dominating-forced love story. And thankfully the writer and the production team can capture and connect them all perfectly. I learned a lot along the story unfold. How come love story could make me reflect so much about life? The last time I feel like this is when I watched Whisper of Fate.
The thing is in the few last episodes, the story feel a bit rushed because of cdrama rule (I actually hate that). But thankfully the conflicts end in quite satisfying ending. I plan to read the novel to get a better understanding for the story and the character.
But I should say this, this is my number one drama that have such a breathtakingly beautiful visual.

Acting and Cast,
First, I decided to watched this because of Zhang Linghe and Tian Xiwei together are very beautiful. You know most of people, including me, are visual oriented person. So yeah I atracted to any beautiful person. And this drama forced me to change my habit from binge watching finished drama to grit my teeth to watch on going drama.
Zhang Linghe, I'm glad you can get this role. I could say this is your peak iconic visual in your career so far. You are doing a really good job potraying Xie-Yan-Jiuheng-Zheng. I didn't expect you can further develop your acting skill like this.
Sweety Tian Xiwei, you are doing a great job too. Pig butchering girl are so bad ass even after you become great general. You got incomparable chemistry with Zhang Linghe. You don't how much I kicked my blanket, bite my shark doll, and even screaming in silence when watching your love story.
For my surprised, I captivated by Sui brothers or Sui-Qi brothers. Deng Kai and Li Moran really got perfect score from me as well executed villain of the story. They proved 'they' are human and show that feeling are the most unreliable thing to trust in this world.
Wei Yan, my Yan Yi Kun, such a beautifully potrayed grey character. You served!
Actually each character really do a great job for their role. Even Ning Niang and Bao'er have good prospect in acting.
But the one who is hard to read her emotion are Yu Qianqian. She is good but sometimes I failed to identified what kind of emotion she shows. She is so human yet so man-made.

Music,
Thank you music director and team, because you made me mezmerised every time the bgm appear. This is the most perfect match between story, visual, and music I ever had. Such a beautiful work of art.

Overall,
Maybe it's just me, but I'm a bit emotional because this drama actually give me not only how fluffy cute and warm love story is, but also show me how fate play the unexpected turn in our life. How the reality hits hard and how we accept the fate. It is a good sign that proved the production team got really good job to deliver this work as it got impact to me.

Rewatch Value,
Actually I quite love this drama. That is why I decided to watched it even it's still on going (I bought express package only to watch this, I usually don't do this stuff). I also want to rewatch it to catch some details that I may missed.

For me, Beside the sky is a really great film. The story is gentle yet deeply emotional, making it easy to get completely immersed. The visual are beautiful and refined, and the ost is amazing. The actors’ performances are outstanding, so natural and vivid as if they stepped right out of the story. It’s the kind of movie I can watch over and over again without ever getting bored.

Almost a Masterpiece… Until It Tried to Do Too Much

I don’t usually watch ongoing dramas because I don’t have the patience to wait for episodes. I’d rather binge everything in one go. But Pursuit of Jade was everywhere—literally the talk of the town—so I gave in, even paid for a subscription just to watch it properly. And honestly? It was worth it.

I’d rate this an 8.5/10.

Let’s start with what worked, because there’s a lot ❤️

The main leads carried this drama hard. Their chemistry surprised me in the best way. It didn’t feel forced, and their dynamic felt natural, layered, and genuinely engaging. This was one of those pairings where you actually care about what happens to them.

The cinematography? Insane. Easily one of the strongest points of the show. You can tell the director was intentional with every frame—angles, lighting, composition. Everyone looked good. Like, really good. It’s one of those dramas where you pause just to appreciate how visually polished everything is. I completely get why people online keep praising this aspect.

I also really enjoyed the first half of the drama (around episodes 1–25). The pacing felt right, the tension was there, and I especially appreciated the darker elements. The gore and brutality felt more realistic than what you usually get in historical dramas, which made the stakes feel higher and the world more believable.

But… yeah. This is where things start to shift.

The supporting characters, especially the second leads, just didn’t do it for me. Their storylines felt forced, and I found myself skipping most of their scenes. Instead of adding depth, they kind of pulled me out of the main story.

And then the final stretch…

It felt rushed. Like the drama suddenly remembered it had to wrap everything up and just went for it. Some emotional beats didn’t land the way they should have, and the villains, in particular, felt underdeveloped. I couldn’t fully buy into their motivations, which made the conflict feel weaker than it deserved.

The biggest turn-off for me was the hint of a time-travel/transmigration element with the supporting female character. That completely threw me off. It felt unnecessary and honestly a bit cheap compared to how strong and grounded the story started. It broke the immersion for me.

I also noticed a few cheesy moments toward the end, which didn’t match the tone the drama had built earlier. It just felt a little unbalanced.

That said, I still finished it—and that says a lot. I’m the type of viewer who sometimes avoids finishing dramas because I don’t want the story to end. But here, I stayed because I was genuinely invested.

Is it the best drama of 2026 like people are saying?
I’m not fully convinced yet—but there’s still a lot more to come this year, so we’ll see.

But is it good, addictive, and worth watching?
Definitely.

It’s one of those dramas that gets so close to being a masterpiece… but stumbles a bit at the finish line.

One of the best C-dramas of the year

First of all, this is the very first review I’ve ever written. I’ve been waiting for this drama for a entire year!
Honestly, this C-drama has it all: romance, a bit of comedy... I truly believe it will be one of the best dramas of 2026, if not the best, though I know there are many more coming.
Zhang Linghe, what a man! He is stunning; I was left breathless in every single episode. His role as the Marquis Wu'an suited him perfectly—no one else could have played him.
Regarding the character, I feel like his development fell a bit short. In my opinion, I wanted to see more of the "formidable" Marquis, but I didn't quite get that, even though I still loved him.
The villains deserve a major award, especially Qi Min and Yuanqing. Those siblings were insane! Deng Kai and Lin Muran did an incredible job.
I absolutely loved Changyu and how strong she is. I adored it whenever she told the Marquis she would support him by killing pigs; simply amazing. Tian Xiwei was incredible.
And the OST is incredible, 10/10
The Ending: 9/10. Why?
Because there are so many unanswered questions. What happened to Gongsun and the eldest princess? In the end, Changyu and Xie Zheng had two children—it would have been lovely to see them all together. I know it’s an adaptation and won't be exactly like the novel, but I enjoyed it nonetheless. It was amazing!

slice of life romance .

its more of your average a slice of life kinda romance show.
its not those light fluff, or super complicated life kind of show. it depicts prolly the average-group people love life. (maybe not for one of the rich ml haha but yeah its your average slice of life romance drama) it's pretty realistic reflecting on social norms and stuff.

not everyone will enjoy this kind of show actually (i love dreamy stuff tbh so i did forward abit here and there in this show haha) i don't really like slice of life dramas i usually avoid them but i do watch them sometimes they sometimes have the feel-good vibes. I also like how the ending wasn't rush like suddenly the against-parents accepted their relationship instead one of the family was in deny of their son's homosexuality even till the end of the show.
& thats what is it in real life.
and also realistic in part where you get back with your ex due to habit but actually don't love each other anymore. but it's human emotion, is complicated and sometimes they feel sentimental or habitual but not love.

sometimes it's also fulfilling to see drama reflecting more realistic to the norms of the world. rather then a sudden u turn and happy ending (altho im a sucker for H.E.). For me this drama is a good one time watch, won't be watching again haha !! i avoid mandane life dramas ! i want to see cute and stuff haha (ESCAPE rl)
(tho i say that too to cdrama "go ahead" which makes me too sad to watch again but i end up rewatching it LOLL so nobody knows whats the future hold XD)

1 think about the finale i dislike: why is aunt jen photo? u have nakan but don't have aunt jen ! how could u =,(

The Storyline

i don't understand the first 3 episodes as it focuses on the love life between tankhun and botphleng (aka tontharn). though i understand that this is a thriller and mystery and it should be thrilled until the episode 8 but the whole duration of the story doesn't look appealing at all. tbh, I'm close on dropping this series when i reached episode 7 because i don't find catchy on every episode that I've watched (the reason I've got this far is I'm hoping it would change every episode but no, it is not, it is still the same). plus the fact the story in every episode makes me more confused more. even though i know the killer beforehand but i realized that it makes it less appealing to audiences. i don't find this story a thriller/mystery at all. forcebook's acting skills really go to waste because of the plot of this series. i don't like as well the kissing scene on every episode while they're still solving the case, it makes it more irrelevant and their slow minds makes it more weak as even a kid can tell who's suspicious at all.

the only worth to watch on this series is the last 3 episodes (8, 9 & 10) because it's a revelation of everything and it's the only episode who has a good execution of the story. I feel bad for forcebook as i feel like they are misfit on this series. they are not a rookie at all but they give this series as if they are new to the industry. it's a shame that i feel excited for this series that turns out it's not worth to watch at all. this kind of mystery/thriller is not my liking... the plot twist is nice but the way their management company give a mystery story to every series has a lamest storyline among all the mystery series that I've watched (especially the reason of inspector dao on why she did it, it feels cliché at all).

next time, I'm hoping for a better plot and storyline for forcebook so that their acting skills wouldn't go to waste at all.

a truly remarkable drama

[SMALL ROLES]

Pursuit of Jade (PoJ) is one of the few dramas that makes you fall in love with not just the main characters but all the small roles that there are.
They gave every small character life, which made them real and very likeable. That's exactly the reason why this drama just feels like a breath of fresh air.

It's been a long while since a drama made me cry, but PoJ did the job for me. They made every death seem real, they made me mourn every single side character throughout the entire drama.

All the actors did an amazing job, every character came to life. I want to separately mention the child actors, they did remarkably. I have never felt so many emotions from such a young actors before.

[MAIN ROLES]

I don't even wanna get started on the insane face cards the main actors have, and their insane chemistry. It's truly one of a kind. This is my first drama of both the main actors and I'm truly impressed. They both made me fall in love with not just their characters but also themselves. I'm definitely watching all their previous dramas next.

My March Recommendation Drama

Watched this for my Recommendation Challenge from 𝑭𝒖𝒌𝒂𝒊. Let’s talk movie…

The story centers on Zhi Nu (ZN), the son of the Imperial Astronomer of the Da Yong Kingdom. His life is shattered in a single night when his entire family is massacred by Marquis Ping Jin—because his father possessed something the Marquis was searching for from the Dongxia Kingdom. ZN is the only one who survives.

Rescued by a loyal friend of his father, he’s taken to a remote village and placed under the guidance of two masters. For ten years, he trains, not for glory—but for revenge.

Ten years later, he returns to the capital under a new identity: Zang Hai (ZH), now a master of architecture, Feng Shui and political strategy.

ZH’s main goal is to infiltrate the inner circle of his enemies—especially Marquis Ping Jin—and bring those responsible for his family’s massacre to justice. But soon, he discovers that the Marquis was not acting alone. There are two more people involved, making a total of three targets for his revenge.

Relying on his intellect rather than brute force, ZH carefully navigates the dangerous world of the imperial court, eventually rising to become the new Imperial Astronomer. Along the way, he uncovers the identities of the other culprits—except for the final one, who remains hidden in the shadows.

As ZH climbs higher, his personal vengeance begins to collide with something greater. When corrupt officials threaten to drag the nation into war, he faces a choice:
Continue down the path of hatred…
Or protect the people—and the kingdom his father once served.

Fortunately, ZH is no longer alone. Along his journey, he finds people he can trust—his allies, friends, his new “family”—who support him both emotionally and strategically. They help him carry the weight, soften his heart, remind him what it means to live beyond vengeance.

But just when everything seems to fall into place, betrayal strikes from an unexpected place.

So, how will it all end?
Will ZH finally achieve his revenge?
Or will the cost—of blood, of trust, of self—be too great to bear?

That's pretty much the story without giving anymore spoilers.

What I like:
+ Xiao Zhan as usual not disappointed
+ Quite interesting story & amazing transformation, from ZH who only care about revenge, and in the end he found his ‘people / family’
+ How ZH differentiate between his vengeance and innocent people, especially with Zhuang Zhi Xing. I really happy they have genuine friendship & respect.

What I don’t like:
- There’re times when this can be quite brutal. Like how the way ZH hardened his heart for An Tu. It really ache my heart when I watched it...

Overall this really a good drama to be watched.

Good Family Drama

Overall, this is very good drama, which can be enjoyed by all the age groups.
The only comment I can give is that there was no sign of the apparel boss who cheated the money of people and run away. The ending is also not clear of how she came out of the stocks nightmare. What will she do in the ending is also not clear.
