Strong start, weak ending

Initially, I was a bit hyped for this. The plot seemed interesting and the starting arc of the series kept me waiting for the continuation episodes.

If the series was mainly about the first arc of the story, I'd rate it a solid 8/10. The visual aspect is done well throughout the series. You can truly see the best sides of the main actors in this series.

The episodes in the first arc were well paced, established the characters well enough to keep me invested, and the tragic fate that befell her village was a good setup for the upcoming episodes.

For me it truly peaked in the episode where she beat the general in two strikes. After that, it went downhill. As others have mentioned, the quick rise in rank on the battlefield, made absolutely no sense. It makes even less sense that she would be placed into that position, even if it was a 'plot' by the opposing sides in the court.

I'm not gonna delve into the main plot, because while it was interesting to guess where it would lead in the beginning, the breadcrumbs you picked up throughout the series, just made it all bland.

I liked the portrayal of the king. He came of as a puppet king, which he acts out well.

Personally, I wanted it to actually focus more on her growth as a up and coming general.

10/10 for me. Must watch drama.

All the male (excluding Lord Li) & female leads were excellent. Lord Li character wasn't interesting for me.

I rewatched the alter ending. After rewatching it I was little confused.

In post credit the alternate ending was - " If the jinzhou massacre wouldn't have happened 17 years ago , how the characters life would have been. " . In post credit the ending is the alternate ending of the current original life of the characters. So in "IF" condition -
[ #1 ] When Fan Changyu & Yu Qian Qian meet for the first time , they felt like they may know each other & they were maybe close friends in past life , &
[ #2 ] When Qi Min & Yu Qian Qian meet for the first time , Qi Min felt connection with her , but after seeing her he started vomiting , because Qi Min things maybe they are never fated to be together.
Both the "IF" conditions are alternate ending of the current life. So how they can feel connections with each other when they meet each other for the first time since it's their alternate current life only.

Amazing series with spectacular acting with unique plot twist.

The Price of Confession is one of those rare dramas that completely takes over your mind and refuses to let go. The storytelling is bold, emotional, and beautifully layered, and every episode pulls you deeper into the characters’ lives. The acting is phenomenal every glance, every silence, every breakdown feels painfully real.

Spoilers ahead: Mo Eun’s death absolutely shattered me. Even though the story hints at tragedy, I kept hoping she’d find a way out. Watching her fight so hard, only to lose everything in the end, made the final episodes hit even harder. And the heartbreaking part is knowing that even if she had survived, the world was still ready to drag her back into jail. That level of emotional weight is what makes this series unforgettable.

The pacing is tight, the twists are shocking without ever feeling cheap, and the emotional tension never lets up. I finished it in just a few days because every episode left me needing answers. It’s powerful, beautifully acted drama that stays with you long after the credits roll.

It Takes a Village to Stop a Terrorist Threat

There is a specific kind of drama I reach for when I need to decompress between the heavy ones. Not something I want to deeply dissect at 2am, but something warm and propulsive, the kind of show going down easy while still leaving you smiling at the credits. Heroes Next Door was exactly this for me. My second ensemble kdrama after Seoul Busters, I picked it up as a ten-episode palate cleanser before diving into something with more emotional weight. Ten episodes, roughly sixty to seventy minutes each, and Yoon Kye-sang in the lead. At that point, the decision practically made itself.

This is my third Yoon Kye-sang drama, and watching him play Choi Kang, a former JDD special forces operative turned insurance investigator quietly embedded inside an ordinary neighborhood, I kept thinking about how much range this man carries with such apparent effortlessness. His Chocolate character was a doctor who had walled off his emotions so thoroughly you almost forgot he had any. His character in The Winning Try was a tragic jester, a man who weaponized his laughter to keep everyone from seeing how broken he was inside. Choi Kang sits somewhere between both of those men, and watching Kye-sang navigate the balance within a single scene, from cracking up at his daughter’s kindergarten recital to flipping a switch and becoming the kind of man who neutralizes threats with terrifying quiet precision, is genuinely something to behold. Director Jo Woong reportedly cast him specifically because of his ability to hold coldness behind a warm smile, and as the drama unfolds, you see exactly what he meant. It is not something you teach an actor. Either you have it or you do not, and Yoon Kye-sang absolutely has it.

Jin Sun-kyu as Kwak Byeong-nam, the hardware store owner and former HID counter-terrorism operative who has also somehow been the neighborhood youth association president for thirteen consecutive years, brings an energy to this drama I did not see coming. I had not encountered his work before, but the bromance chemistry between him and Kye-sang is the beating heart of the whole show. Their dynamic carries equal weight in the action sequences and the comedy, and pulling both off simultaneously is a genuinely rare thing. My personal favorite among the leads, though, was Kim Ji-hyun as Jung Nam-yeon. Unfamiliar with her prior work, I was not prepared for how much she would hold my attention. She plays the Mammoth Mart owner and former youngest drill sergeant of Korea’s elite 707th Special Mission Battalion with a calm, measured precision I found completely addictive. Nam-yeon never raises her voice when she does not have to, and Ji-hyun understands exactly how much authority lives in stillness. Lee Jung-ha rounds out the core squad as Park Jeong-hwan, the engineering student and tech brain of the group. Fans of Moving will recognize him immediately, and his character here follows a similar trajectory of the earnest, capable young man with a genuinely good heart. He does it well, but I hope his post-military return brings roles with more complexity, so we get to see everything else he holds. Ko Kyu-pil as Lee Yong-hee, the cyber ops specialist and neighborhood martial arts director, completes the five with ease, functioning as the comedic engine alongside Jung-hwan while landing quieter emotional moments with unexpected grace. I will not list everyone in the Changri-dong neighborhood because we would be here all afternoon, but every single one of them earns their place in this story, and the ensemble feels genuinely lived-in rather than assembled by committee.

What surprised me most about Heroes Next Door was how seriously it treated its action sequences despite being, at its core, a comedy. The CQC choreography sits among the best I have seen in kdrama, and I say this as someone who has watched every single Ip Man film. The production clearly brought in professionals, and the result is action feeling grounded and viscerally satisfying rather than theatrical. The ten-episode structure keeps the pacing tight, with almost no wasted runtime, and the central conflict, Sullivan’s entire war against a system that failed his daughter, works because it roots its biggest threat in the simplest human grief. A father who lost everything.

But what I adore most about this drama is what happens between the action beats. The community garden squabbles, the parent-teacher conference chaos, Nam-yeon screaming at Byeong-nam because his EMP knocked out the neighborhood electronics and her freezer full of meat paid the price, Kang and Byeong-nam locked in a full debate over recycling bins. These moments made me wish, sincerely, for a quiet neighborhood slice-of-life spinoff with this exact cast. I would watch every single episode of it without hesitation. The ending also deserves its own moment of appreciation. Most kdramas reach for the moral high ground by letting the villain walk away with some form of forgiveness attached. Heroes Next Door does not take the easy road, and the closure it delivers respects both the villain’s internal logic and the story’s own code. One of the most satisfying endings I have witnessed in recent memory.

The production budget does not stay invisible throughout. The action choreography earns every compliment, but the explosion sequences are a different story. The CGI physics go rogue in several moments, noticeable enough to briefly pull you out of the scene, though none of it derails the overall experience. The audio works within its means far more elegantly. Two standout OSTs carry the heroic set pieces: Higher by Ha Hyun-woo and UDT by Lee Hyuk, both high-octane tracks syncing with the action beats almost perfectly, the kind of songs getting your adrenaline moving before you even register what is happening. The emotional scenes lean on piano soundscapes instead, and the choice works beautifully because this cast carries those moments entirely on their own. The sound production team clearly knew when to step back and trust their actors.

The flaws are real but minor in the grand scheme. Ten episodes is a condensed run, and some side plots feel glossed over as a result, with certain characters not receiving the development they deserve. Sullivan’s arc also wobbles in the later episodes, temporarily shifting him toward Bond villain territory before the finale pulls him back into something more human. The correction lands, but the detour registers. The biggest practical hurdle for international viewers, though, is the streaming situation. Heroes Next Door is an ENA and Coupang Play exclusive with no confirmed global release, meaning anyone outside South Korea has to work a little harder to find it. I find myself genuinely torn about flagging this as a flaw. The drama wears a distinctly Korean neighborhood texture throughout, the kind of cultural specificity global streaming demands sometimes sand down, and there is something I appreciate about it existing untouched. The recycling bin argument hits differently when you recognize exactly which Korean communal anxiety it is pulling from. But it also deserves a wider audience, and right now, fans outside Korea still have to hunt for it on their own.

If you have any way to track Heroes Next Door down, it is worth every bit of effort. It is warm, tight, funny, and quietly touching in all the right places. A neighborhood story with action movie bones and a community garden heart. And Yoon Kye-sang? He maintains his perfect record with me, a hundred percent satisfaction rate across every drama of his I have watched. Whatever he picks next, I will be there, front row, no questions asked.

From the sublime to the ridiculous

I was such a fan of PoJ until episode 26. After that, it became so anticlimactic and unevenly paced, ending in complete makjang in the final battle, without a clear and satisfying explanation of past events, and perhaps the most awkward and stilted final cdrama moment in the alternate ending from the 2ML/main toxic villain.

How can a Cdrama do a complete 180 in terms of storytelling, tone, pacing, character development...? I am so confused as to how this happened. PoJ started off so beautifully with the first arc in Linan village. I was completely enraptured with our FL and ML, how she saved him, their back stories, and especially how their relationship developed. I loved the snowy landscape, the chill mountain village vibe, the cozy cooking scenes, the way they slurped the pork intestine noodle soups with relish, the intrigues here and there about what happened 17 yrs ago, and of course all the scenes with ZLH 😍. I loved how Changyue nursed XZ back to health, and how he was so understanding, observant, and caring. It was lovely.

Everything was moving along so well, even when he left to go back to the military camp, even when she went to look for him, and all that happened in between. Our MC was still in character, and their reunion at camp was so moving. Really on its way to being a masterpiece.

I was enthralled with how their story (and even the side stories!) developed at this point, and even more thrilled when she fought on the battlefield, defeating Shi Hu. The fight choreography was so memorable and so well done! And how she realized XZ was the marquis and how he whisked her off on horseback...that was truly the peak moment of this drama.

Sadly, after that, it kind of went off the path of masterful storytelling. I think this became obvious starting with her fight scene against General Changxin...actually it was more when she asked XZ who he would take on, Changxin or his psychopath son. Anyway, it just seemed out of character.

At this point onwards, there were so many unsatisfying moments and I was just so unhappy with how little time they gave to our MC together, and especially to XZ as marquis. This would have been so much better had it focused more on the MC’s romance rather than the toxic side couple’s, allowed the story about past events to unfold better (like maybe throughout the drama, instead of just unloading everything in the last couple of epis and even then it was still confusing and unclear), redeemed Uncle Wei (honestly, the real bad guy whose actions precipitated the tragedy from 17 years ago was Tutor Li who betrayed his friend circle, gossiping to the old emperor! I mean what kind of punishment did he get, he conspired with Qi Min too! So unbelievable and annoying), and kept the same tone & style with the cinematography. I just expected too much!

The Sublime:
-Linan Village arc
-ZLH 😍
-the music
-the villainous brothers’ auras
-Uncle Wei with the moustache

The Ridiculous:
-the ending
-how much time was given to toxic side couple’s romance (ugh!)
-Changyue defeating General Changxin
-Qi Min surviving the fall from the top of the fort (somehow I was shocked to find him in jail! )

It’s funny because as PoJ was airing and while I waited for later episodes (not knowing at the time how it would all turn out), I was rewatching earlier episodes and just enjoying their time in Linan and their reunion. I never could have predicted that I would feel so unsatisfied with the ending. I know one has to take the good with the bad, but at the end of it all, I was left wondering how much nonsense we the viewers can accept at the end of a drama despite an amazing beginning. I guess I can accept a lot because I’m giving it an 8.5, lol. Still, I can’t help but feel like I was played.

“There is so much more to tell, 11ep aren’t enough.”

Nine puzzles. Read this if you have already finished, I tried to make it spoiler-free, but in the end, I couldn’t manage, so there are a lot of spoilers!

I think, like in the title I said: “There is so much more to tell, 11 episodes aren’t enough for it”, I think it was a bit too much “condensed”, maybe something was even cut. It has great potential for sequel and prequel! The start felt slow->medium->quick-> SPEED END 🤣I think there should have been more episodes, for more details, like how the killer killed, the whole reason, her life, and then normal ending—not open one.I think the killer has more potential, because right now it feels that the killing doesn’t suit her, there aren’t enough pain for her yet, there should have been more reason, for her to end up like this. like not reasons, but I think she should have been main character also, and then she, the ”killer”, would make the story much better with less plot-holes, and more enjoyable. Maybe then the plot-twist wouldn’t work, but it would halve more “emotions”, “slice of life”

—————-

I just finished it, and readed quite a few reviews/explanations. The most I liked the ending/11episode.

I liked how everything in the end was connected (*even tho not everything, so it wasn’t all connected, there are plot-holes; Like others said, it would have been better if the case were more explained, how the killer killed and the reason), also…It would have been better, if there would be clues for the watcher. If you like plot twist, this is great for you. Before watching it, I read few review, that there was a plot twist, so I almost guessed right who was behind it, even thought zero logical clues until 8-10episode; maybe my intuition is good. But the plot twist wasn’t plot-twisting for me, I think the reason why the killer is killing doesn’t fit right….Because it wasn’t explained why all those people died. I understand some dieds, but others were abit out off…I’m thinking there will definitely should be season 2! And maybe The killer wasn’t the only one involved! Or…She didn’t die…The last died—it might have been killed by the “new” killer! I have theory, that the new killer wanted that Ina would continue doing the case, so after she resigned, he/she gave Ina new puzzles! It might be one of peoples near Ina like her colleagues, so she would be back! I also think Curry mom is involved!because it was mentioned 2times, about how his mom won the lottery, what if it wasn’t the lottery? So the case isn’t finished, not yet…

Honestly the best part of this show is I Na and Curry relationship/friendship.

For anyone who doesn’t have anything to watch, I think this is great show, go watch it! But if you are new k-drama fan, I think there are plenty better psychological thrillers out there.

When you buy something just for the free gift that comes with it.

My dear discerning and intelligent ladies and gentlemen,

Imagine a Macy's sale where if you buy a bottle of foundation, you get a free limited edition designer fragrance. Well, you don't need foundation. Your skin is beautiful, why would you buy foundation. Besides, you already have a bottle of the most perfect foundation at home, and this brand isn't as good as your brand anyways. But you really want that perfume because it smells fantastic and you can't buy it separate, it only comes with the deal.

This entire drama is just so mid. I give it cred for putting in a lot of effort, given the limited budget, to look vibrant, fresh, and luxe. The direction isn't bad, the styling isn't bad, and the ost is actually kind of awesome (except for when it isn't). The script and story are just a mess, but a watchable mess I suppose. And this was a very fair Yan Zi Xian performance. Gorgeous, believable -- although I HAVE seen him do better so I can't say this is his best work. The kisses are also not bad, but not great for what we know Zi Xian can do. Everything is just so MID!

But that's not really why I think you should give this one a watch.... maybe not as a 'wow this is going to be so immersive and cool' watch, but more as an inbetween non-comittal watch. And that reason - the free limited edition designer fragrance that you are buying this stupid bottle of foundation FOR - is the FL actress Zeng You Zhen.

Where did she come from? Because she is AWESOME! I am pretty picky and critical of FL's. I'm not used to seeing an up-and-coming FL that makes me sit up and pay attention, but she did. Her performance here, is so good. She has a lot of depth, her "crying face" looks like a real crying face. Her laughter, confusion, determination, all looks believable. And she's cute and a little bit sexayyyy. She has a quality I don't know what to call, so I call it "shimmery", where you can see microexpressions pass across a person's face as their thoughts and feelings shift rapidly. MANY actors cannot do this properly. But a few can, and she is one of them. This ALWAYS impresses me when I see it, because it means they are devoted to their character, and understand that the camera will pick up on their subtle expressions without them needing to *emote*, as long as they are fully IN character.

Her performance is limited by the script, the direction, and the time and budget constraints. But with a project that could devote more to her abilities, she could really REALLY shine. I hope to see more of her in the future. She did excellent in her role here, and I was so surprised because I don't even know who she is. This lovely lady is worth keeping an eye on in the future. I see a lot of natural talent there.

I say the stupid bottle of foundation is worth it for the free perfume, personally.

A different BL everyone who like variety in stories must watch!

Loved the acting, they deserve all the applause! The storyline is well done, made to confuse us, makes us wonder till next episode for what happens next, This bl is unique, for its story, for the way its not about focus on their love & intimate life as the main thing but on the full story of two men and how their life goes on as ceos of two big businesses while dealing with mental health and wrong decisions and how love plays a part in it.

The direction could have made it even more amazing while the acting, the cinematography, costumes everything are well done.
I will be rewatching once the show is done!

Beauty and the Beast

The reason I watched it was the unique plot. This genetic attraction virus. Destiny, obsession, passion, violence... what should you expect? A bit of everything, a thread that isn't always logical, "romantic" moments, bloody ones, fantasy... and there's even a dragon!?!
From what I understand, these two types of people, the Ren (B), are looking for their own Yin (A) to "pack" with and become permanently and inextricably united.
The experiment was launched to transform people into weapons: antisocial, aggressive, and unloving, kept under control with tranquilizers injected with large syringes as an antidote.
This Ren, accused of killing his parents, becomes obsessed with this girl, the sister of this special agent. They will marry, but until they consummate the marriage, their bond will not be irreparable, and that won't happen right away.
After seeing that her brother is against their union and does everything to separate them, she decides to stay by her husband's side, but with the mission of making them get along.
When cornered, her brother confesses to him that he had his parents killed, then kills himself. She blames her husband for not stopping her brother and wants to distance herself from him, but he doesn't want to and holds her hostage.
Then it becomes even more intricate and chaotic. The search for these "fragments," dreams, memories, reality... is chaos.
I started with an 8* rating, but here I've dropped in free fall to a 6*.

Joseon's Romeo and Juliet

The Princess's man is quite a great watch. It was set during the time of Grand Prince Suyang, later King Sejo of Joseon. It follows the quest of Prince Suyang before and till he claimed the throne.

Fictionally, it tells the story of a man and woman whose deeply and selflessly in love with other. Seryeong, is the eldest daughter of Grand Prince Suyang. One day, she was told she will possibly be joining Kim Jongseo's second son, Seungyu, in conjugal ties. After visiting Princess Gyeonghye, her cousin to her father's side, she learned that Seungyu will be the new teacher of the Princess. Seryeong volunteered to attend the lecture instead while disguising herself as Princess Gyeonghye. The lovestory of our leads started that way. However, they are caught up in an intense family rivalry as Prince Suyang aimed to snatch the throne to his brother and nephew, while Kim Jongseo remained loyal to the current Munjong and Danjong regime . Turns out that the proposed wedding was a potical stunt by Prince Suyang. The story follows how the two families clashes with each other while sacrificing lives along the way. We will get to witness how Seungyu and Seryeong fought for their love despite the quandaries they face.

I have nothing against the all actors as they did really good portraying their characters. I commend all the actors down from the leads to the supporting actors. Emotions and expressions are really spot on and will make you feel the character's pain and joy.

Seungyu's story is so heartbreaking. Imagine, he lost his father, brother, teachers, and friends to the very father of the woman he loves. To add up, he was betrayed by Myeon whom he calls a dear friend. There was even a time when he was kept in the dark by Seryeong about her real identity, only finding out after the demise of his clan bought by Seryeong's father. Seungyu's character was heartbreaking and full of hatred, centered at taking vengeance to those vile people, especially Prince Suyang. Park Shi Hoo was able to portray that well, no doubt.

As for Seryeong, she was a loving daughter who looks up to her father only to discover how ruthless and greedy can he be, not minding who or how many will be sacrificed. She was torn between being a filial daughter to his power greedy father and on standing what was truly and humanely right. She was head on strong and brave for fighting what she truly think is right. Moon Chae Won did so much great in making life to Seryeong.

I can say that the flow of everything was great but it really bugs me every time Seungyu shows up in public. He is way too confident to roam around showing his face and the most hilarious part is that no one notices him, ever HAHAHA. There was even one time when he walked Seryeong into their old residence despite being hunted down. I think that was before Seungyu goes to Hamgil Province. It just doesn't sit right with me, he holds a government position and the son of Daeho Kim Jongseo, not everybody but someone might recognize him yet he roams like no problem at all.

One thing that makes me really sad about the drama is the wasted friendships between Seungyu, Jong, and Myeon. It was so heartbreaking to see them fall apart and be dragged by their father's intense conflict. Especially, everytime Jong begged both of his two dear friends to stop and reconcile. I remember Seungyu even said, "Leave all the aggravation to our fathers, and let us ignore it. ". If only Myeon resist his father a little longer or choose loyalty to his friends over tolerating his greedy father, then it could have been better. One thing that I could never understand is Myeon's character. Yes, he cried and say drunk himself but at the end of the day.. no, no remorse at all. Not to mention his desire to kill Seungyu to finally have Seryeong. Like dude, I didn't know you also like Seryeong, really, when and how did it happen?! You knew there was already something going on between your friend and Seryeong yet you do what?! I can't help but compare their friendship with the two male leads in "My Country, The New Age", the very reason why I started obsessing on following the lives of the Joseon Kings and the reason why I watched this drama to follow King Sejo's a bit slice of truth.

Either way, the drama was great. Superb storyline, great OST, packed with romance and action, set during one of the most intense time during the Joseon period, all in 24 episodes. Very recommended!

I was able to fill my curiosity about the reign after King Sejong the Great and King Munjong. The struggle of King Danjong against his Uncle King Sejo. Fictionally, I have enjoyed the story made out of it. It taught me to be brave, to love, and ultimately, to stand and fight for what I think is truly right and just.

Yi Duo Jie Geng Hua(2025) is a nice rebirth romance fantasy miniseries adapted from the web novel "Tao De Xiao Jie Geng" by Tian Tao Yao Yao with Song Chen (as Fu Zheng) and Tian Miao Miao (as Wen Li) in the leading couple’s role. The leading couple had a lovely heartwarming chemistry and some enjoyable intimate scenes. The female lead was winsome and straightforward in her relationship while the male lead, as cautious as he tried to be, was really in love with her but also willing to wait; but it so happened that, as a rebirth story, the female knew, all along, that he was the one for her. Some supporting actors were lacking in their performance but the female lead’s antics and the male lead’s steadfast love support, and protection made the drama worth watching and entertaining.
In the meantime, this drama can be found in YouTube under the caption: “Dying, she realized CEO uncle loved her deeply. Reborn at 20, she seduced him, he spoiled her” (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O5tzidh5tF4) or “After rebirth, I threw myself into the arms of my CEO uncle , and he spoiled me to his core” (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l_w4Hzci4a4)

Something is missing

I am a huge fan of reincarnation dramas but unfortunately this was not the one for me. I was expecting to really loved it a smart female lead and a reincarnation plotline are literally my 2 favourite combos in Asian dramas but unfortunately i didn't like this one as much as expected. It felt mid, like something was missing but i can't exactly explain what. The acting is ok,story is easy to follow, couples have good chemistry and plotlines are interesting but at the same time i felt like i was hurrying up to the finish line with this drama especially acter they got married that's when it just became a 2x speed type of show. At the same time it was interesting and nice to watch but not something i would go out of my way to reminisce about.

Fated by Time ! Can love can survive two Centuries?

The Story of Park's Marriage Contract is a true standout, blending historical charm with modern- day stakes in a way that feels both fresh and deeply emotional.
Here is why it earns such a glowing review:
A Powerhouse Performance: As you
mentioned, Lee Se-young is incredible. She carries the show with a perfect balance of "fish-out-of-water" comedy and heartbreaking vulnerability. Her ability to portray a woman fighting for her agency in two different eras is what makes the story so grounding.
•Compelling Storytelling: The plot isn't just a simple romance; it's a fast-paced mystery regarding fate and reincarnation. The way the past and present timelines intertwine keeps you hooked, making every episode feel
essential.

Deeply Touching Themes: For any viewer who appreciates a story with soul, this drama delivers. It tackles grief and second chances with great sensitivity.
The emotional payoff is high because you truly root for the characters to break the cycle of their tragic destiny.
•Visuals and Chemistry: The cinematography is beautiful, and the spark between the leads turns a standard "contract marriage" trope into something genuinely moving and sincere. It's a must-watch for anyone who wants a story that is as meaningful as it is entertaining.

The best Drama there ever was!

Okay, where this drama stands out is the story progression. What this drama does so well, is it creates a perfect storm within this phenomenal story. I started watching this expecting it to be just another romance….but by episode 40 I was in complete awe and rendered speachless. my favorite part was the ultimate reveal when Uncle is in the cell telling Tutor Tao his whole truth. the way he explains that in full detail knowing that 17 years ago one drunken conversation resulted in everything that we saw happening was a whoa moment for me. Also the thing on repeat that’s woven into the story too is how the driving force to a lot of the tragedy here has a lot of love at the heart of it. secretly tho I was rooting for Qi Min and Yan to really mend things too. I know Qi Min was a monster but he truly did love Yan. I thought in the end when they were in the cell and he told her he just wanted them to live happily with her by his side and she explained how he could have had that but his pursuit of the empire is what caused this. When she cried I thought….she really did love him. he was just such a monster that she felt she had no choice and did everything for their son. Greatest watch!

Baby Soo Cutie - Broken Promises

The real star of the entire series is the baby. Adorable.
After the death of his parents, this child is cared for by his maternal aunt and paternal uncle.
She (the protagonist of "The Witch"), He (the protagonist of "Check in Hanyang/Park's Contract Marriage Story"), just to name the actors.
This aunt's character started getting on my nerves starting in episode 4, when she makes so many promises and doesn't keep a single one. In fact, when the new director, her first love, arrives, she never says no, passes the responsibility on to her roommate, is unavailable, and then apologizes! A FOOL!
After episode 7, I put it aside for a while and struggled to pick it up again.
The ending wasn't bad, but it wasn't a series that thrilled me.
I'd blame the female lead for having this beaten-dog look even when she smiles, which should convey happiness.
Luckily, the child's charm made up for it, as did his acting and his connection with the cast. (Chegueo) The best.
