Nota: 07/10

Just Finished Love Has Fireworks ✨
At first, I thought Love Has Fireworks would be just another typical romantic C-drama. But as I kept watching, I realized it focused much more on the workplace and the characters' professional lives than on romance, which was actually a nice surprise.
My favorite part was definitely the characters. The chemistry between the main couple was fun, natural, and full of hilarious moments. I also really liked the OST—it fit the drama so well.
My favorite character was Yao Jingjing. She's strong, loyal, and always ready to help the people she cares about without hesitation. Honestly, I even found myself more interested in her storyline (and her pairing) than the main couple's. I really wish they had gotten more screen time.
This drama made me laugh so many times, but it also made me angry whenever the female lead's ex appeared... he was seriously so annoying.
The only downside for me was the ending. Some parts felt a bit rushed, and I think a few details were overlooked. I also wish the main couple's relationship had received a little more attention toward the end.
Overall, I'd recommend this drama to anyone looking for a light, funny, and relaxing romantic comedy. It may not become one of my all-time favorites, but I definitely enjoyed the journey. ✨

Engaging in a refreshing manner
There will be comparisons made between this drama and "The Heir". This is an equally captivating drama, and a must watch if one enjoyed "The Heir".Different times, different challenges, different perspectives and yet there is an immediate sense of familiarity to the intangible aspect of a thousand year lineage of craftsmanship and culture. In "The Heir", there was pride in their "bǎi nián" (hundred years) heritage. Today it is in 35 generations spanning thousand years. Its not merely pride but a definite sense of fragility in maintaining craftsmanship with the challenge of modern economics of scale amidst the availability of machinery.
In The Heir, it was all about ink and the challenges of a young woman in ancient China's feudal society dominated by the Imperial court. The script had somewhat liberal leanings in very conservative times where a wrong decision can mean the end of a clan. In this Paper Dreams, its all about paper in the modern socialist, communist republic of China. Just as in the intimately entwined relationship between ink and paper in Chinese culture for art and calligraphy, there is much similarities between Paper Dreams and The Heir.
Though the scenery is modern, there's much that is breathtaking and much that lend itself to nostalgia. The ancient arched bridge over the flowing river and the various modern expressways and scenes with rivers adds the link of today to a thousand years ago. The smokiness of the mountain clouds and greens adds an ethereal air and one can easily be transported through the ages.
Ma Shou Hua as Xuan Yong Nian nailed the character. Principled and unyielding to a fault, ferociously defending the thousand years old legacy at the expense of family, he is kind, stubborn and patriarchal to all who work for him. He is the revered Master to many.

Stayed till the end for Wang Chu Ran
Decided to watch this show solely because of Wang Chu Ran. I fell in love with her acting (and her beautyyy) in Fireworks of My Heart and I thought to give this show a shot.Down to the storyline: Well, it was refreshing to see the banters of the main leads especially at the start when they kept bumping into each other. There was also no old unrequited love plot in this show.
I would say acting wise, the best actors of this show had to be the main leads. Other than that, the other characters didn't really stand out to me. I really didn't like the AI character.. it was way too obvious. I am sure that this was not an easy feat., but there were several if not all scenes where the dude was having zero eye contact with the other cast members. Aside from that, he was also quite emotionless most of the time and his lips were NOT in sync with the dubbings either.
Regarding the relationship development of the main leads, when they did finally get together, I didn't feel a sense of satisfaction - unlike how I feel in some other shows. Somehow their get-together didn't feel as impactful. Maybe because of the indecisiveness of the female lead. I do like her don't get me wrong, but her character here especially the way she handled her relationship with the ML wasn't it for me. I understand that she had previously experienced a failed relationship, but her avoidance was getting on my nerves. And also even after they got together she was not wanting others to find out about her relationship. I was confused at one point if they were actually officially together or not. One moment they're kissing passionately, and the next they act like strangers. I wished the couple was better in communicating their feelings and thoughts and I'm sure that would have reduced the misunderstandings ten-fold.
Business wise, of course, these two main leads have strong personalities and capabilities. What I admired most about these characters was their ability to separate work and personal life. For instance when they were having love trouble, they continued to do what they had to do at work - and performed.
The most touching scene for me in this series was the hug that was shared between the FL and her supervisor/manager. Even though the relationship is of a subordinate-superior dynamic, I appreciated how the FL gradually became unafraid to speak up and be that beacon of light in the superior's life.
"In life and especially in the business world, there isn't always a clear black and white to things, but deep in your heart, you know what's right."
After her final words to the manager, those words continued to linger on in the manager's mind. Although those words still fell upon deaf ears, at the end of the day... she realized her folly. She said something along the lines of 'Although taking the path of righteousness might not be smooth, it's what eventually leads you to happiness.'
Overall, a relatively light-hearted show ~ watch if you have the time and if you like the main leads! There's a decent amount of screen time for them.

Boring
This is slow burning extremely slow burning. If you like to watch couple talking about food cleaning house and all kinds nonsense like this that's for you. I understand hesitating to make contact or to confess but it's more than 32 episodes and nothing come on. In addition business story is not very interesting the same for the secondary couple, also not interesting and the third couple is even worse. But the most the most important part is total lack of chemistry Between the couple looks the FL took this job to make money there's a zero requirement from her acting Talent if you want to watch her with a nice range of acting and total beautiful chemistry of the couple watch fireworks of my heart

confronting what you want
Overall: it was a nice story of reuniting. Aired on the Bump app.Content Warnings: past and present panic attacks, internalized homophobia
What I Liked
- supportive boss
- non cliche female character (her reaction was realistic)
- busting out of the stacks of books
Room For Improvement
- cliche running scene
- at the end he could have said there would be waterproof books, he shouldn't need to give up his love of reading

A melody of torture
I confess I watched this series out of sheer stubbornness because it had been a long time since I’d seen a show this bad and unbearable. How could a mystery drama starring Book and Force turn into something so bland, lazy, lifeless and devoid of creativity?GMMTV urgently needs to stop investing in these adult-oriented mystery plots if they have no real interest in fully exploring those narratives.
Melody of Secrets is a patchwork of disjointed storylines leading to an anemic, incoherent resolution. Serial killer, multiple personalities, hypnosis, memory loss, identity fraud, corruption—this series has it all, yet it still manages to be incredibly tedious.
The direction is terrible and I don't think they knew what they are doing, the editing is shockingly amateurish and scenes start and end abruptly. Things happen out of nowhere and information is thrown at the viewer without any prior context.
The soundtrack, the cinematography and even the color grading are dismal, giving the whole thing a low-budget feel.
The relationship between the leads comes out of nowhere and not even Force and Book’s charisma and chemistry can save such aimless, uninteresting characters.
It’s a shame, too, because they clearly have immense potential to shine in a more serious series.
The serial killer—who only kills two people, so not a serial killer —and the entire reveal play out in such a banal way. It’s just a flood of information dumped on the audience without a shred of genuine interest.
The fragments of Botphleng’s true identity could have made for something fascinating; in the hands of a director like Anucha or a studio like Be On Cloud—even though 4 Minutes was a mess, its visuals and atmosphere were incredible—this series could have been truly magnificent.
The plot called for a creative, dark series featuring an unreliable narrator and mounting tension. All that serial killer nonsense adds nothing and just bloats the story with unnecessary plotlines.
And even with so much going on, the pacing is slow and doesn't work. I kept waiting for the big moment but it never came. Extremely disappointing.

it started out great, but then…
I was really enjoying this, but then everything went south. Like, what happened to the plot? the ending felt messy and it was was I hated the most. But I liked how the leads matched each other’s freak, and their chemistry, but that’s about it. I might enjoy watching edits of them on tt but I don’t think I would re watch this.it says my review must be 500 characters to be able to post ??? this had never happened to me before so I’m writing this down here hoping it will be enough to meet the quota

Who am I without WU?!?!
You say you don't watch anything without romance? I can promise you this is deeper, more heartfelt and far gayer than anything you've ever watched. The hill I'm willing to die on is that Sky and Nani have better chemistry than your fav bl actors. FIGHT ME.
If its gay af or the craziest friendship I PRAY, this kind of love finds me someday.
It's heartfelt, emotional, beautiful, has the perfect amount of realism that makes you feel seen/heard where it's not to heavy that it pulls you out of the story and makes sad or feel a negative way about anything in your own life. The lighthearted funny moments brings the show and story all together.
It's literally only 9 eps. You are only hurting yourself by not watching this masterpiece.
As a supernatural girl I was going to watch regardless but didn't have high expectations because other than Goddess Bless Your From Death (I have some beef with Khemjira) IMO there hasn't been any good supernaturals shows out lately. I love this spin of heaven, demons and evil. Nothing I've seen done well before.
WATCH IT OR CRY ABOUT IT, EITHER WAY SKYNANI GIRLIES WE WON!!!!!!!!

REAL MEANING OF "MO LI" (THE FIRST JASMINE)
The title means 'never part' and perfectly captures the profound devotion and unshakable bond between two highly traumatized, fiercely intelligent leads who start with separate revenge agendas but become each other's sole anchors. On the surface, Bai Lu plays the traditional role of a noble daughter seeking vengeance for the destruction of her clan's legendary Lishan Academy. But she portrays Ye Li with many hidden layers. Ye Li is plagued by nightmares and trauma from her eight-year exile on Mount Li. She talks to people who aren't there and masks her deep fear with modern, quirky resilience. Her dialogue is a brilliant study in subtext; she rarely says exactly what she means, and her language is always like chess, thinking ten moves ahead. On the other hand, Cheng Lei leaves behind the 'cold but secretly OP' male lead trope. Mo Xiuyao is a heavily traumatized, disabled commander confined to a wheelchair, riddled with survivor's guilt after the massacre of his brother and his army. Cheng Lei delivers a powerhouse performance. He beautifully portrays the raw frustration of physical limitation, bitter self-loathing, and the agonizing restraint required to bow to the Empress Dowager, the very woman responsible for his family's ruin, to maintain national stability.Furthermore, the romance of The First Jasmine is arguably one of the most rewarding slow-burns in recent C-drama history, as it relies on earned intimacy rather than forced tropes. Ye Li's love language is fundamentally food, a trauma response to her starving years at Lishan. In the early episodes, her way of chipping away at Mu Xiuyao's defensive walls is simply bringing him honey cakes, millet porridge, and lotus cakes. The visual transformation of the Ding Manor from a dark, isolated 'man-cave' to a place of warmth, laughter, and soaring kites is a beautiful representation of their mutual healing. They don't just fight side by side; they quietly piece each other back together. The production doesn't rely on cartoonish, one-dimensional villains. Characters like the Empress Dowager and even the scheming Prince Mo Jingli are driven by understandable, deeply human motivations of self-preservation and fear. The drama asks heavy moral questions: 'When your family has been framed and slaughtered, do you accept the status quo for the sake of the country's peace, or do you burn everything down for justice?" It beautifully anchors this dilemma in traditional philosophy, emphasizing that true justice and state governance must begin with cultivating one's internal character and harmonizing the family first.
However, this drama has a few flaws. Around the midpoint (specifically the Cangbei arc involving Princess Ling Yun and Su Zhi Die), the pacing hits a few speed bumps. The drama occasionally introduces new subplots before entirely wrapping up previous ones, which can cause minor narrative whiplash. Viewers looking for explosive, melodramatic confrontations might find some of the political resolutions a bit flat or quietly intellectual. It is a show that rewards patience and favors tight dialogue over chaotic action.
In conclusion, The First Jasmine is a beautifully directed, cinematic, and thought-provoking masterpiece. With an exceptional, film-like musical score, stunningly restrained acting, and a script that treats its audience with intellectual respect, it is a must-watch for anyone who loves high-stakes political intrigue and deeply mature romance.

Hotel Slice of Life
I got to episode 17 and dropped it and although the acting was great, I am just not interested in the workings of a high end hotel. Yes, it has a strong but soft FL, but it is predominantly about running a top of the line hotel and all the drama about finding a new sheet supplier to dealing with fussy workers and guests. This may have turned romantic in later episodes, but I just did not care wade through countless hotel drama before I could get to it.Although the FL did have a hard divorce in the first two episodes, there zero romance in these first 17 episodes and I kept holding on hoping that there would be, but it never happened. While it was really good to watch a woman do well, this is more a slice of life in a hotel than a romance. If you are a romance lover like I am, then don't waste your time.
