Bromance is superior to BL - End of discussion ✋️ This series is yet another one that proves that point.

If you won't watch Wu because you're afraid of horror, let me tell you as someone who has extremely low horror tolerance, this has little to no horror at all. So don't worry about that. The entire magic, witchcraft thing can be handled with ease.

I loved the idea and the story telling. The animation and special effects used were of good quality and adds to the visual appeal. The pacing is well done with almost no plot holes. Acting is good enough too. I would say Nani is better off being the top than the bottom (hope you understand the point even if it's not a BL). But yes, both Sky and Nani presented a good performance. Godji also did a very good job.

The entire Chinese thing was a bit too much 😂 Yes, we are all reading subtitles so it doesn't make a big difference but still. Was it needed? I don't think so 😅

Loved the song Destiny by FLIO. The instruments blessed my ears 🥹

Ya, was waiting for it to finish airing to watch it together, and it didn't disappoint me. I enjoyed the watch.

Park Bo Young's most harrowing work to date

Park Bo Young was cast as Heeju because her image was the total opposite. Director Kim Sunghoon described her as a kind and ordinary person, someone who wouldn't steal, so it was paramount that she distance herself from that image in order to portray this character. Heeju isn't likable, but the audience can sympathize with her. She makes a lot of frustrating decisions, borne out of desperation and greed, but she's fascinating to watch. Her tenacity is shocking, the lengths she's willing to go to in order to keep the gold. She'll even give up her own life, because to her, death is preferable to a miserable existence. The only existence she's ever known, beginning with her childhood of neglect. She steals from thieves and murderers, outwits them at every turn, and still keeps her humanity. An exceptional performance.

Potensial, tapi–

Menarik karena mereka punya pandangan yang berbeda tentang takdir. Umumnya orang berpendapat bahwa kematian termasuk takdir yang tidak bisa diubah, tapi di dalam cerita ini takdir yang tidak bisa diubah justru adalah pertemuan dan perasaan mereka satu sama lain.

Ide utama cerita ini sangat potensial. Dua episode pertamanya sangat manis dan berkesan. Beberapa episode berikutnya juga masih oke, sampai terjadinya time looping. Buatku 16 episode itu terlalu banyak untuk alur sesederhana ini. Konsep time travel-nya sendiri bagiku kurang diterangkan dengan baik. Beberapa karakter juga menurutku sangat disayangkan ditampilkan tidak cukup dalam, sehingga terkesan hanya pernak-pernik.

Pengalaman yang menarik untuk menyaksikan romansa, komedi, dan fantasi dalam satu drama. Original Soundtracknya keren parah, dan SHOUT OUT TO ECLIPSE! It reminds me a lot of Watermelon Sugar ♡

A Fragrant Tale of Love, Redemption, and Second Chances

Flower Boy is a beautifully shot fantasy romance that blends mystery, drama, and heartfelt emotion into an engaging story. The series follows Scent, the vice president of a perfume company determined to create his next signature fragrance, and Gaysorn, a man from the Mudan tribe who possesses a rare gift, the ability to produce a unique scent that is only released when he falls in love.

From the very beginning, Scent’s intentions are far from genuine. Desperate to use Gaysorn’s extraordinary ability for his own ambitions, he manipulates him into returning to Bangkok by offering to help uncover the truth behind his mother’s disappearance. What begins as a relationship built on deception gradually evolves into something much deeper. As the two spend more time together, their growing bond feels natural and believable, and Scent slowly begins to struggle with the guilt of using someone who has come to mean so much to him. By the time he realizes he has genuinely fallen in love with Gaysorn, he chooses to abandon the very project that brought them together.

However, the truth inevitably comes to light, and with it comes heartbreak. Feeling betrayed by the person he trusted most, Gaysorn leaves, leading to an emotional separation. One of the strongest parts of the series is Scent’s redemption. Rather than trying to justify his actions, he accepts responsibility for the pain he caused. After helping Gaysorn finally uncover the mystery surrounding his mother, Scent tells him to return to his tribe, believing that he doesn’t deserve to be by his side. Their time apart is handled well, showing that both characters continue to love and miss each other despite the distance. With encouragement from Mekin and Ray, Gaysorn is finally able to see that Scent’s feelings were sincere, allowing the two to reunite.

Although the finale could have benefited from a little more development, it successfully ties together the major storylines and leaves very few lingering questions. The ending feels satisfying, even if it could have spent more time exploring the couple’s reunion.

Ray and Mekin also grew on me throughout the series. Initially, I found both characters somewhat irritating, and Ray, in particular, made a poor first impression. However, as the story progressed, they became two of the more enjoyable supporting characters. Ray’s unexpected English outbursts were genuinely hilarious and added some much-needed comedic relief. More importantly, Ray was the first person to recognize how much Scent had changed, reinforcing one of the show’s central themes, that people are capable of acknowledging their mistakes, growing from them, and becoming better versions of themselves.

The Mudan tribe was another interesting aspect of the story. While their distrust of outsiders is understandable given the trauma they experienced in the past, they often project those past experiences onto everyone they meet. This creates conflict throughout the series while also highlighting how fear and prejudice can be passed down through generations.

As for viewers who believe Scent passed away in the finale, I interpreted that scene differently. I believe his collapse was the result of both physical and emotional exhaustion. After missing Gaysorn and tirelessly planting an entire field of flowers as a symbol of his love and regret, it would make sense that his body would eventually give out. While the editing of that sequence could have been clearer and left open to interpretation, I felt the series never hinted that Scent was suffering from any underlying illness. Because of that, I saw his collapse as exhaustion rather than death.

Visually, Flower Boy is stunning. The cinematography beautifully captures both the natural scenery and the emotional intimacy between the characters, giving many scenes an almost dreamlike quality. While the CGI isn’t particularly impressive, it’s more than serviceable for a television production and never distracts from the overall experience. Combined with a well-chosen soundtrack that complements the emotional highs and lows of the story, the production does an excellent job creating an immersive atmosphere.

Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed Flower Boy. It’s a fantasy romance that explores love, redemption, forgiveness, and personal growth through memorable characters and gorgeous visuals. Despite a finale that could have been slightly stronger, the series delivers an emotionally satisfying journey with beautiful cinematography, a touching romance, and a soundtrack that perfectly enhances each scene.

Interesting concept but messy execution - "Imperfect Communication indeed"

Colony offers a new concept that is quite intriguing at the start, especially with its biomedical setup. However, it overall lacks proper execution. Many character arcs are left unfinished or have highly unsatisfying endings. For example, Ji Chang-wook and Go Soo's characters becoming infected isn't the issue itself; the problem is that once they are infected, they are never mentioned or talked about again. This makes their roles feel like filler.Despite this, the film has notable highlights and subtle details. Koo Kyo-hwan smiling at Jun Ji-hyun each time his point—"the problem with humans is imperfect communication"—is proven is an excellent touch. The way he smirks when someone betrays her and human greed takes over their humanity is a great, understated detail. Overall, it is a good film to watch once, but except for Jun Ji-hyun and Koo Kyo-hwan, no other characters are explored, leaving the story feeling unfinished.

What makes Double Helix extraordinary isn't that it tells a heartbreaking story. It's that it never allows heartbreak to feel meaningless. Every loss, every misunderstanding, and every reunion serves a larger purpose in exploring how people become who they are.

I was struck by how carefully the drama distinguishes between circumstance and choice. Fate may bring Lu Feng and Cheng Yichen together, but it is their choices, shaped by fear, love, guilt, pride, and emotional wounds, that determine the course of their relationship. The series refuses to blame destiny for their suffering. Instead, it asks a far more compelling question: How much of our future is decided by the emotional patterns we refuse to confront?

The writing is exceptionally layered. Characters are introduced through their actions, but understood through their histories. As more of those histories unfold, scenes that once seemed straightforward take on entirely different meanings. I found myself mentally revisiting earlier episodes, realizing that the story had quietly been preparing me for emotional moments I never saw coming. That kind of narrative cohesion is rare and incredibly satisfying.

One of my favorite aspects of the drama is that it never confuses empathy with absolution. It gives us insight into why characters make painful decisions, but it never suggests that understanding their pain erases the pain they've caused others. That balance makes every relationship feel honest. The series recognizes that love and accountability are not opposites. In fact, genuine love often requires accountability.

The emotional maturity of the writing also deserves praise. Rather than relying on grand declarations, the drama often communicates through hesitation, distance, and unspoken emotion. Some of its most memorable scenes are built around what remains unsaid, trusting the audience to recognize the emotional significance hidden beneath ordinary conversations.

What ultimately stayed with me was the feeling that every character was fighting two battles at once: one against the people around them, and another against the beliefs they had internalized about themselves. That internal struggle is what gives Double Helix its emotional richness. The romance is beautiful, but the journey toward self-understanding is what truly defines the story.

By the time the credits rolled, I didn't feel like I had simply watched a romance. I felt like I had witnessed an intricate study of how love is influenced by memory, responsibility, vulnerability, and the courage to change. It's the kind of story that grows more meaningful the more you reflect on it, because every revisit reveals another emotional thread you hadn't fully appreciated before.

For me, Double Helix is proof that the strongest romances aren't built on perfect relationships. They're built on imperfect people who keep choosing to grow despite everything that has taught them not to. Thoughtful, emotionally sophisticated, and beautifully constructed, this is an easy 10/10.

Khemjira: One of the Best BL Series I Have Watched

The cinematography, village setting, costumes, rituals, and supernatural atmosphere were beautifully executed. The story was engaging, the characters were connected well, and the series managed to combine horror, folklore, romance, tragedy, and family history without feeling empty or superficial.

One of the things I appreciated most was how much the series introduced me to Thai culture, history, Buddhism, spiritual beliefs, traditional clothing, and local customs. It made me curious enough to start reading about Thai history and religion, even though I am not Buddhist. Very few series make me want to understand the culture behind what I am watching, and that gave *Khemjira* even more value.

The soundtrack was another major strength. This is honestly one of the few series where I loved almost every song, whether it was a regular soundtrack song or one with a more spiritual and religious tone. The music matched the atmosphere beautifully and made the emotional and supernatural scenes even more memorable.

The acting was also impressive, especially considering that several of the main actors are still relatively new. Some of Khem’s more intense crying scenes were weaker, but overall the cast handled the material very well.

My biggest issue was Ramphueng’s ending. For most of the series, she was presented as the villain, but her backstory revealed that she and her son were actually the original victims. Her revenge became cruel and harmed innocent descendants, but it still felt unfair that she was expected to apologize while no one properly apologized to her for the betrayal, humiliation, and injustice that caused her suffering in the first place.


*Khemjira* was ambitious, visually beautiful, culturally rich, emotionally powerful, and supported by an excellent soundtrack it remains one of the most memorable BL series I have watched.

The greatest strength of Double Helix is that it constantly reminds us that every story depends on where we're standing.

There were countless moments where I was convinced I understood a character's actions, only for the next episode to quietly challenge that certainty. The remarkable thing is that the drama never changed its characters to achieve this. It simply revealed another layer of their history, another fear they had been carrying, or another consequence I hadn't fully considered. Instead of asking me to switch sides, it encouraged me to expand my perspective.

That is what makes the writing so compelling. The narrative isn't built around shocking revelations or dramatic twists. It's built around gradual understanding. Every conversation, every silence, and every difficult decision adds another piece to an emotional mosaic that only becomes complete near the end. Looking back, I realized that the story had never hidden its answers from me. I simply didn't have enough context to see them.

I especially admired the way the series treats love as something profoundly complicated rather than inherently redemptive. Love exists throughout the story, but it isn't enough to overcome fear, guilt, pride, or years of emotional conditioning. Again and again, the drama demonstrates that people don't only struggle because they lack love. They struggle because they lack the emotional tools to express that love in healthy ways. I found that perspective both refreshing and painfully realistic.

The character writing is where the drama truly shines. Lu Feng and Cheng Yichen are never reduced to symbols of right and wrong. They are contradictory, frustrating, compassionate, selfish, vulnerable, and resilient, often within the same episode. That emotional inconsistency isn't a flaw in the writing. It's exactly what makes them feel so recognizably human.

I also appreciated that the series never rushed emotional change. Trust isn't restored overnight, resentment doesn't disappear after a single apology, and emotional wounds continue to shape behaviour long after the events that caused them. The story respects the permanence of experience, and because of that, every step toward healing feels meaningful.

What impressed me most, however, was the confidence of the storytelling. The writers trusted the audience to notice patterns instead of spelling them out, to understand subtext instead of relying on exposition, and to sit with uncomfortable ambiguity instead of offering easy answers. That level of restraint is surprisingly rare, and it allowed the emotional impact to emerge naturally rather than feeling manufactured.

By the end, I realized Double Helix wasn't asking me to judge its characters. It was asking me to understand them, even when understanding became uncomfortable. That's a much more difficult thing for a story to accomplish, and it's ultimately what elevated this drama above so many others for me.

This isn't just a romance about two people finding each other. It's a thoughtful exploration of perspective, accountability, and the invisible emotional histories that shape every relationship. Beautifully written, emotionally intelligent, and endlessly rewarding on reflection, Double Helix is a drama that fully deserves a 10/10.

Ulasan dari persepsi orang yang enggak nonton Bed Friend

Series ini dirilis tahun 2023, tahun segitu mah aku lagi hiatus dari dunia per BL an. Akhirnya baru nonton beberapa minggu yang lalu. Alasan nonton? demi TutorYim!. Pertama tahu tentang mereka dari Love Upon a Time, mereka jadi cameo yang memerankan pangeran dan babu yang jatuh cinta tapi dikekang oleh the so-called "norma" sosial di abad 17 Ayutthaya, deymnn sedih wokk. Acting mereka bagus banget di LUAT, meski cuma muncul sepenggal doang tapi aku jadi kepo sama series-series mereka terdahulu. Maka dengan bantuan mydramalist, akhirnya ku bulatkan tekadku untuk menonton The Middleman's Love, walau dengan ribuan kritik negatif yang udah kubaca.

Ternyata ini series masih satu universe sama Bed Friend yah?. HMM.... GIMANA YAA ngomongnya..
Aku benci banget sama fans toxic CP NetJames yang masih berkeliaran in this big 2026 yang bahkan sampe ngehate JJ tanpa berdasar. Maka gw muak banget liat NetJames di series ini. Bukan berarti gue ngehate James ya, tapi kek ga sreg aja ngeliat orang yang punya fanbase toxic pro max. Salah satu alesan kenapa aku dulu keluar dari fandom nya BTS juga karena Army semakin toxic (era pandemi tuh buset puncak ketoxic-an army tuh), apa apa dihate udah kek pengangguran betul bah. Maka dari itu aku benci banget orang toxic dan salahkan-lah orang-orang toxic tersebut hingga sampe bikin orang se-innocence James, bisa jelek citra nya dimata gue.

Ini series sebenernya sangat menghibur, cuman banyak aspek yang kesannya kayak dipaksa gitu loh. Maksa masukin 3 Couple (atau lebih ya?? ngga inget sumpah ada berapa total CP nya) tapi development dari kisah cinta dari banyak CP itu kurang ter-manage dengan baik (kecuali NetJames ya, mereka udah ada pondasi dasar dari Bed Friend). Ini kisah klasik BL Thai deh, mau masukin banyak CP tapi yang dapet screen time maksimalnya cuman CP utama. Maksudku, bukan berarti CP sampingannya juga harus sama persis screen time nya dengan CP utama, tapi at least porsi nya yang adil gitu lah wokkk!. Ini udah ibarat langit dan lava, ketimpangannya. Udah gitu CP second di series Middleman's Love kayak cuman mentok di series ini aja gitu, mereka gaada kelanjutan series baru lainnya. Jadi.. kayak serba salah deh. Mereka kan ikut casting juga buat cari duit yak, tapi ternyata ngga adil banget screen time mereka. Yah, namanya dunia entertainment emang ngga ada enaknya.

Terus mereka maksa masukin Domundi Sports Day ke-dalam series ini seakan-akan mereka memberi pesan tersirat kalau series ini tuh,- apa ya.. kayak nyata... kayak cerminan reality, padahal mah enggak. Sports Day yang ada didalem seriesnya juga cringe bgt, aku ga sanggup nonton kecuali sambil cuci piring atau multitasking dengan hal lainnya. Terus apaan dehh pake acara misunderstood kayak scene didalam kamar mandi tuh, padahal mereka ngga ngelakuin hal2 yg ngaco tapi bisa bikin pasangan dari masing-masing CP jealous. Udah mah jealous, ditambah gamau komunikasi yang benar. duhhh ini miskom udah kayak trope klasik BL thai, sebel gw.

Udah ah intinya gw demen banget sama keimutan Yim diseries ini. narak makkk. Selain dari itu udahlah diemin aja. Peran nya Tutor disini juga, sebatas gitu aja gitu.. kek.. karakternya dia kurang bebas eksplorasi tentang diri dia sendiri. Kurang unik jadinya, terkesan terlalu berpatokan ke scriptnya. Kayaknya ini dipaksa directornya ya?? padahal Tutor di series ChermChey loh actingnya natural banget, bener bener berasa ngga acting. Salah directornya sih ini..

Udahlah intinya gitu, intinya ini series kurang jati diri. Harusnya bisa dibikin jauh dari konsep yang mengharuskan mereka exist di universe yang sama dengan Bed Friend.

The Next Prince: Beautiful to Look At, but Empty Where It Matters

*The Next Prince* had everything needed to become a strong series: a large budget, beautiful costumes, impressive locations, a popular main couple, and a political royal setting with plenty of potential. Unfortunately, the writing never lived up to the production.

My biggest issue was the treatment of the supporting characters. Some fans of the leads seemed to want the entire series to focus only on Khanin and Charan, but if that was the intention, the writers should not have introduced so many side stories in the first place. You cannot create several potentially interesting characters and relationships, then give them almost no development simply because the main couple has the largest fandom.

This was especially frustrating because Khanin and Charan’s story was not strong enough to carry the entire series alone. Their romance felt bland, predictable, and underdeveloped. They had visual chemistry, but the writing gave them very little emotional complexity. Khanin gradually became a lovesick character whose life revolved around Charan, while Charan remained emotionally distant and difficult to understand.

In contrast, Ramil and Paytai had one of the most compelling dynamics in the series. Their relationship involved guilt, trauma, emotional dependence, and unresolved feelings. There was much more depth and tension between them, yet they were given only fragments of a story. Every time their plot became interesting, the series moved away from them.

The same problem affected Ava, Calvin, Jay, and several other characters. They were introduced as if they would have meaningful roles, but most of their stories were either rushed, weakened, or abandoned. They existed in the script without being properly written.

The problem is not that the series had supporting couples. The problem is that it used them as decoration instead of treating them as real parts of the story. If the writers wanted a series focused exclusively on Zee and NuNew, they should have created a smaller and more intimate plot. But once they chose a political royal story with multiple heirs, families, and relationships, every major character needed enough screen time and development.

In the end, the series looked expensive but felt emotionally empty. The costumes, palaces, and cinematography were beautiful, but the most interesting characters were pushed aside while the weakest storyline received most of the attention.

To say that this movie was a mess was an understatement. Which was truly unfortunate, since the movie's plot of surrounding the aftermath of Beijing's fall and the clash with the pirates could've been a good one, but no, we had to be sidelined with the plot of the supposed love triangle between Feihung, Siu Kwan and Siu Kwan's younger sister.

After fleeing from Beijing and returning to Foshan, Feihung and his family returned towards an almost ghost town. Apparently, in the span of time of them being away (being involved with the first Lion King competition and the second one, as well as the fall of the Qing Dynasty), pirate activity started to become rampant. So despite the initial plan for them to head to Hong Kong after reuniting with the rest of the Poh Chi Lam people, Feihung and the others also had to deal with the pirates so as to return peace and safety to the people of Foshan.

I still disliked the whole plot involving the 14th Aunt (not calling her May because that wasn't her name, as it was derived from Siu Kwan calling her Mui which basically means 'younger sister'). Like, I get the appeal of trying to insert another girl in the plot to add some kind of tension that necessitates bringing back Rosamund Kwan as Siu Kwan, but honestly, the way they did it in this movie was not even amusing. But really, the comedic effect doesn't hit quite as well as when we had Jet Li and Kwan do the same shadow play in the previous movies. All because this time the movie relied too much on having Leung Foon create the source of conflict by creating a misunderstanding that Feihung kept chasing after every woman in sight - to which could've worked better had Zhou's Feihung never been shown to have any interest in 14th Aunt from movie 4 and this one. And I also can't really buy the sister's excuse of saying 'she tried not to fall for him' because in the last movie, she did do everything to look and behave exactly like Siu Kwan as if she did intend to get Feihung to like her. And really, the whole fight between the sisters was so unnecessary and very annoying.

That said, this movie brought back Ah Wing and Ah So, and I love the fact that as much as Ah So was shown to still not be good in Kung Fu... he turned out to be quite skilled with guns. Zhang Tielin returned to the franchise again... but this time playing a different character, and honestly, I wished the movie had focused more on the plight of the remaining constables instead of the stupid romance plot. Also, I had to question the fact that this movie seemed to forget that Feihung had been in charge of the local militia, which was the men that had been entrusted to him back in the first movie, which made the scene about them trying to restart the local militia from scratch a tad unbelievable, as if forgetting that the men that had joined PCL in the past were former soldiers, so why were those men missing? And where's the rest of PCL's students in Foshan?

The plot was so choppy, messy and badly compiled, which made this movie hard to bear. The sequence of them going to the pirate's hideout was cool, but due to the bad editing... felt very out of place. Despite how we're being told that the pirates were supposed to consist of multiple groups with different coloured flags, we end up just seeing one. That felt a bit underwhelming, especially when at the beginning they made it seem like the pirates were part of a very huge group... but personally, the Taiping gang had been a lot more convincing at being baddies than this. And seriously, who was it that thought having Vincent Zhou act like Feihung could flirt with girls without effort was a good idea? Like this might work with Jet Li, but Vincent really didn't have that much charisma to really pull that effect.

But hey, after so many years... I finally did actually watch this shitshow for real.

It’s fine

The original film with Katherine Heigl is one of my favourite that-era romantic comedies so I was excited to watch this. It also had Seoham, an actor from one of my favourite BL shows as the 2ML. In my opinion, it could have been a shorter show, making everything a bit punchier…maybe 8 episodes? Life as we know it (the original film) was 1h55 so dragging out the story to
12 hours without any solid additions to the storyline was stretching it thin. The acting was fine, I didn’t really feel chemistry between anyone. Seoham seemed to have more chemistry with FL when he was daydreaming about her than actually in person 💀. I liked the ML, I’d probably watch him again.


EDIT: Just looked at FL’s credits and she has been in SO many dramas and graduated a theatre school? Goodness! Did she get blackmailed into this job? Why is her performance so lacklustre?

Love You Teacher: An Interesting Idea Handled Too Superficially

*Love You Teacher* had an interesting and unusual premise, but its handling of Solar’s condition felt far too shallow and unrealistic.

Solar’s brain injury and age regression are serious medical and psychological issues, yet the series often treats them as a source of comedy or emotional drama rather than a condition requiring long-term neurological care, therapy, and rehabilitation. The idea that years of trauma could be addressed through one session and a song played on a guitar felt especially simplistic.

His situation at the school was completely illogical. One day he was treated as a teacher, and the next as a student sitting in class with seven-year-old children. Even if his mental state temporarily regressed, he was still an adult who needed treatment and rehabilitation, not a school uniform and elementary lessons. The whole situation felt like a joke and was completely unacceptable.


Pobmek’s employment raises another issue. He teaches elementary school despite not having a full professional teaching license and initially not even liking children. Knowing mathematics does not automatically qualify someone to teach young students. Teaching requires educational training, classroom-management skills, and an understanding of child development. The series may have intended this as part of his personal growth, but it mostly makes the school administration appear irresponsible.

Overall, the series had emotional potential, and the performances may help make some scenes touching. However, the writing repeatedly sacrifices medical, professional, and ethical realism for convenient drama. A complex condition cannot realistically be solved through love, one emotional breakthrough, and a guitar.
