Veil of Confusion

Veil of Shadow really cast a shadow in my mind. The story was so confusing and chaotic! I cannot ascertain if it was meant to be adventurous with many heroes or if it's about the last dragon to save the world or if it was a doomed love story between Ji Ling and Lu Wuyi or if if it was a sob story about Ji Ling the blind red fox.
I watched this for Joseph Zeng but he did not seem to be the main cast. He had much much lesser screen time compare to Tian Jiarui. And his chemistry with Chen Du Ling didn't work for me. It was non existent and forced.
The character development for everyone was so inconsistent throughout. The push and pull of dying for each other between Ji Ling and Lu Wuyi dragged for many episodes. Their flirting was endless and draggy and boring. The back story on Ji Ling's loneliness was so long I don't know where it was heading. The fight scenes that should matter in the story were so quick and easy rush. This is one drama I will not recommend.

A disappointing final installment of the "Love Syndrome" series with a different cast

PLOT: Itt and Day have been a couple for three years. But Day has a car accident and doesn't recognize Itt, having lost his memory of those three years and reverting to his violent self. With infinite patience, Itt takes care of him while he waits for his memory to return (a few love rivals and a villain lurking in the shadows).

+++ I really like Lee Long Shi. I'm OK with Franck, but here, Franck has a terrible hairstyle. Furthermore, the chemistry is far from obvious: Franck gives dead-fish kisses, and the couple doesn't seem comfortable in intimate scenes.
+++ Overall, the cast is good, even if some could improve their acting skills.
+++ Good OSTs, but sometimes the volume is excessive (a common flaw in "lakorns"?)

### The storytelling is a bit slow, with unnecessary scenes and characters. The series would have been better with only 8 episodes. The numerous flashbacks (some very repetitive) also weigh down the narrative.
### Very bad fight scenes: all we see is the choreography :)
### The amnesia storyline is too long and poorly developed.
### Itt's trauma related to driving is inconsistent, and above all, incomprehensible: he hasn't personally experienced a traumatic accident (☆_@)
### The director wanted to maintain the [I'll rape/mistreat and abuse you, but you'll still fall in love with me] premise of the novel and the film, but it's a twisted/perverse idea, and here, it's clumsily executed.

In short, my friend FF helped me finish it!

=> For me, a rather disappointing series (watched once, certainly not twice!)

Suite et fin de la série "Love Syndrome" avec un cast différent.

PLOT : Itt & Day sont maintenant en couple depuis 3 ans. Mais Day a 1 accident de voiture, il ne reconnait pas Itt, ayant perdu la mémoire de ces 3 ans & revenu à sa version violente. Itt, avec 1 infinie patience, va prendre soin de lui en attendant que sa mémoire revienne (qq love rivals, et 1 Villain ds l'ombre). HE.

+++ J'aime bcp Lee Long Shi, et j'apprécie Franck, mais ici, Franck est affublé d'une horrible coiffure. De plus, l'alchimie est loin d'être évidente : Franck fait des dead-fish kisses, et le couple ne semble pas à l'aise ds les scènes intimes.
+++ Globalement le cast est bon, mm si certains pourraient améliorer leurs acting skills.
+++ Bonnes OSTs, mais parfois le volume est excessif (défaut des "lakorn" ?)

### La narration est un peu lente, avec des scènes et des personnages inutiles. La série aurait été mieux avec 8 épisodes. Les nbreux flashbacks (certains très répétitifs) alourdissent aussi la narration.
### Très mauvaises scènes de fight : on ne voit que la chorégraphie :)
### L'arc narratif de l'amnésie est trop long et mal exploité.
### Le trauma de Itt par rapport à la conduite de voiture, est inconstant, et surtt, incompréhensible : il n'a pas subi lui-mm d'accident traumatisant (☆_@)
### Le réalisateur a voulu garder l'optique [je te viole / maltraite et abuse de toi, mais tu vas tomber amoureux de moi qd même] du roman et du film, mais c'est tordu / pervers comme idée, et ici, exécuté de façon maladroite.

Bref, mon ami FF m'a aidé à aller au bout !

=> Pour moi, une série assez décevante (vue une fois, certainement pas deux !)

I Can Hear Your Voice, the power to hear thoughts, a gift that changes everything!

Overall, this drama is very well done. The events unfold quite quickly. As for the ending, I found it a bit predictable given the context, especially when Min Joon Guk's past is revealed. Concerning the characters, the five-year age gap between the two actors, Lee Jong Suk and Lee Bo Young, didn't bother me too much. Otherwise, I grew attached to the other characters, namely Hye Seong's mother (Kim Hae Sook) and Soo Ha's two friends, Kim Chung Gi (Park Du Sik) and Go Seong Bin (Kim Ga Eun). Special mention goes to Min Joon Guk, played by Jung Woong In. He perfectly embodies the "villain," and his natural face already makes him look like a villain! This guy is simply consumed by a thirst for revenge, to the point that he's lost what little humanity he had left. As for the OST, I really love "In My Eyes," and it perfectly matches the drama's atmosphere. Everything you need to absolutely adore it! In short, this drama is truly excellent!

I Love Pag!

These special episodes are mostly recaps of previous events that happened in the series. While writing this review, I am reviewing them with this in mind.

First special episode was SKarD members writing paperwork and talking about past events. It has some character moments in between. And honestly, seeing SKarD members talking casually with each other warmed my heart. Even if you are binge watching the series, I recommend watching first one to see these interactions.

Second and Third specials were featuring Pag (Perfect Analyze Gadget) and digital avatars of Gedos and Mogusion. They were cracking jokes while summarising the past events. They extend the lore a little bit, and honestly I found them very cute.

These special episodes are skipable. But I advise not to. It was enjoyable to watch them. Have fun!

hua yong obsessed

people who are hesitating to watch this....DONT start this right away because its that awesome...i found the end a little incomplete but its common in chinese bl. the end was good but they can do better. and actors omg they can make a room hot with just by their eyecontact and smirks of hua yong. omegaverse is not common in the dramas especially in bls but it was worth it. when it comes to second lead i hated that they are gonna end up together. i hated shen wen lang so much and he didnt deserve gao tu at all.i just didnt like that wen lang regeted it that much i wanted to see him regret so much. but overall it was a roller coaster ride.

✨An Epic Written in Dust, Glory, and Contradictions and a Descent I Didn’t See Coming✨

Okay… where do I even begin with this one?

This drama came in with a lot of noise around it—and not exactly the flattering kind. So I went in cautious… and somehow I am more entertained than I expected.

Let’s start with what it does right.

✅The cinematography is genuinely stunning. This isn’t soft or whimsical—it leans fully into that rugged, historical, almost mythic and tribal atmosphere. Wide landscapes, grounded textures, and a strong, earthy color palette make everything feel weighty and immersive, like you’re watching a legend unfold rather than a polished fairytale. Visually, it’s one of the drama’s strongest assets.

✅The BGM also deserves a mention, because it carries. I always pay attention to how music supports a story, and here it does a lot of heavy lifting in amplifying tension and emotion. When it hits, it really hits. Though—no explanation for this—but my brain kept randomly hearing echoes of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 in certain moments. Slightly distracting… but overall, a very solid score.

✅Character-wise, this drama is surprisingly rich. While the leads are central, it’s the supporting cast that really rounds out the world. There’s a strong sense of presence across the board—distinct personalities, layered motivations—and I found myself invested in more than just the main storyline, which is always a win.

✅The plot itself is engaging enough to keep you watching. There are twists, shifting dynamics, and despite the intimidating episode count, the pacing holds up better than expected. Watching it while airing actually worked in its favor—two episodes a day felt like the perfect rhythm, and the story never really dragged for me.

Now… onto the more complicated part😢

The female lead.

I went in aware of the situation, so my expectations were already adjusted. And to be fair, she does okay—she doesn’t break immersion completely and holds her ground in many scenes. But when the narrative asks you to see her as a feared and respected general… that’s where it becomes harder to fully buy in. Especially when the characters around her often carry a much stronger, more commanding presence.

And then there’s the romance—specifically in terms of the main leads’ portrayal.

For me, this is where things don’t quite land. The emotional depth just isn’t there, and the dynamic feels off more often than not. Instead of adding to the story, the romantic moments felt like interruptions to what was otherwise a compelling narrative. Separately, the characters work. Together… not so much, again, personal take.
Interestingly though, I found myself far more invested in the dynamic between the female lead and the second male lead. There’s a natural ease there that makes their interactions feel less awkward and, in my opinion, far more convincing. The chemistry simply flows better.

And I have to say—Zhang Kang Le as Yan Xun is adding an unhinged, chaotic kind of energy that I did not know I needed. He’s unpredictable, slightly feral, and honestly just so much fun to watch. Every time he’s on screen, things get instantly more interesting. He’s crazy… but the entertaining kind of crazy—and I’m absolutely here for it.

As for the overall reception, yes—there’s been quite a bit of negativity. And while some of it is understandable, I also feel like a lot of viewers went in already decided—whether due to casting choices or constant comparisons to Princess Agents. Having seen Princess Agents a few years ago, I do think it helps a bit with the initial setup (since the first episodes throw a lot at you), but as the story progresses, this drama does stand on its own.

Personally, I made the conscious choice to treat it as a separate story—and to stay away from the comment section early on. The experience was better for it.

So, who is this for?

If you’re heavily attached to Princess Agents, this might take some adjusting. And if you’re here strictly for romance… this is probably not your drama. The strength lies in its atmosphere, characters, and storytelling—not in its love line.

In the end, I found this to be a visually striking, well-directed drama that kept me consistently engaged. Yes, it requires a bit of patience—especially early on, where the plot can feel messy and occasionally full of gaps—but it never lost my interest.

That said, this is still an ongoing watch for me, with nine episodes left to go—so final judgment on the resolution is very much pending.

Flawed? Definitely.
But still a compelling watch… if you meet it where it is.

Just finished all 40 episodes and… what the actual hell did they smoke??
The last arc was a complete mess—repetitive, frustrating, and somehow looping back on itself like none of it even mattered.
And the deaths?? At some point I was like… who pissed off the director, genuinely. Are we just killing everyone for shock value now?
It stopped being emotional and just became exhausting.
This really felt like a “fuck you… just kidding… but actually no, fuck you” to the audience.
At this point, I’m honestly just here to roast myself for how optimistic I sounded in the first half of this review.

It's totally a mediocre drama even though it has some redeeming quality

This drama was released during the early 2010s so its in the era where drama was so exaggerated. This type of drama started fading away in the 2016 above, from it's quality to budget. 'I need Romance 3' is the one drama that I'm not a fan of, the story/plot and the characters development so ridiculously made. This are my opinion but maybe because I haven't had any relationship irl even once also that's why i don't understand much, this drama always about the break-up, the relationship of a boyfriend-girlfriend and about the meaning of love and trust. The only thing why I watch this drama was because I'm a fan of Kim So Yeon, she's one of the top 5 most attractive, beautiful and strong actresses I've ever seen, just wow! Her character in the drama definitely not my cup of tea, yes I find her cute and adorable but that's it, the ML ... he the only character that has redeeming quality but others some are average and some so badly written it's confusing. Also I'm a little underwhelming with their using of western formula i.e. alot and lots of kissing scenes, it's not just a normal kiss but boy it's RAW and JUICY like french-kiss style (it's rare to see such kdrama). All the characters who's appeared has alot of their kissing screentime even the FL had kisses 3 guys, a very rare for me to see a FL to not only get to kiss the ML but the 2nd ML and the supporting character. 2nd ML played by Nam Koong Min, one of my fav actor but I don't like how they write his character in this, sometimes he's honest and reasonable guy but most of the time he act like a goddamn cunning fox. But the way this drama indicates the FL personality related too much irl for a person to be like that, which is a good part in the drama. The love interest of the FL's close friend also steals many scenes, his character has little screening time but he did delivered comedy really well. Meanwhile the two employees characters arc bored me, I don't like them, one scene the female employee cheat on her boyfriend but this drama shows it as a comedy?! What kind of logic is that? That's just bad attempt to do it. Before 2015, kdrama really strange but I'm sure at that time was what viewers demand, I've watched couple of rom-com release pre-2015 before watching this and this drama has more ridiculous in it, if it has action or psychological thriller then it even has better quality than the post-2016 kdrama. The remake of this drama in chinese titled MY FATED BOY was vastly better than this, because they have more episodes and more focussing on ML trying his best to get together with the FL who's a matured woman with some minor changes like The parents was there to witness and childhood storyline was explained even better, however 'INR3' is like an ensemble casts, everyone matters, even they didn't fully focus on the ML but instead on the supporting characters too, also FL definitely not mature, she's a workaholic and always criticize unreasonably whenever or whatever she wants and when it comes to emotions, she's like a robot... But all that changes in the very later episodes when ML always interfere in her life.

The Perfect Dynamic: Maturity Meets Devotion

Princess Royal delivers a fascinating role reversal that keeps you hooked. After finishing The Pursuit of Jade, seeing Zhang Linghe in The Princess Royal is such a refreshing shift! While Linghe was flawless in The Pursuit of Jade, his chemistry here with Zhao Jinmai is pure gold. He plays the "towering cutie" to perfection—pouting and throwing tantrums, yet remaining fiercely capable when it counts.

Why the Duo Works
The ML’s Unwavering Loyalty: Despite his brilliance, Pei Wenxuan (ML) happily yields the reins to Li Rong (FL). His growth is remarkable; he pampers her, supports her, and offers the ultimate grace by forgiving her for his death in their previous life.

The FL’s Burden: Li Rong’s journey is heavy. Betrayed and poisoned by those she trusted most, her restraint and hesitation to love again are frustrating but deeply human.

The Catalyst for Change: While the FL struggles to let go of past grudges, it is the ML’s emotional maturity that ultimately rewrites their tragic fate.

Bottom Line: Li Rong is incredibly lucky to have a lover like Pei Wenxuan. Their dynamic—the mature, grounded Princess and her devoted, slightly "baby-faced" protector—is a masterclass in second-chance romance.

A little rant about this drama

The drama is visually so well-made, actually no, I think well-made is an understatement, it's wonderfully crafted, from the real locations, to the beautiful costumes and the cinematic shots, I was literally in awe from episode one.
And I have no problem with most of the cast, I see some people complain about Zhang Kangle as Yan Xun, honestly his acting isn't even bad, I have seen so, so much worse in cdramaland that has made me wanna bash my head into a wall. His acting is good and he exudes the dangerous aura I believe a character with a tragic backstory like Yan Xun should have, I mean I found him literally mesmerizing in some scenes, which is not something I could've said about his performance in Legend of the female general- I found his character utterly forgettable there. Li Yunrui is a favorite of mine, I'd be watching even the dumbest of productions if he's in it, just looking at his face is enough tbh, the plot doesn't need to make sense at all 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣. Here though, it's obvious from the first moment we see him on screen that he's been preparing to give a solid performance as Zhuge Yue, he's understood the core of his character well and he doesn't mess around. Every time he's on screen the drama gets a new dimension, it feels like a serious piece and not just an idol drama. The same could be said for 90% of the cast.

Buuuut

Huangyang Tian Tian as Chu Qiao just doesn't work.

No matter how hard I tried to like her as her character, she just doesn't match the expertise, the experience and the maturity that playing Chu Qiao requires. I mean here we have a female general who's been through hell and back, experiences which furnish her with enough material to do her job right and earn her merits. And they're trying to sell me all of this by casting an actress with a baby face and acting chops of a student in a school production of some famous play. I'm supposed to believe what other characters are saying about her, that she's formidable and fierce, even though every time she's on screen she just doesn't deliver. I've seen this being done with 80% of male leads who are supposed to be generals in dramas and it's annoying and honestly so overdone to the point I wanna break something when it happens again. If you have a role of a fearless and scary general you find an actor who looks and acts the part, don't cast a kpop idol for God's sake!!!!!!!
I nearly laughed when I saw her dressed in those massive fur coats in newer episodes, standing next to Yunrui and other characters she looks like a literal baby, not someone who's commanded an army let's be real here people come on! The fact that she was still a minor when she made this also affects the production quality in the largest. There's a lot of longing, passion, some visceral emotions between Chu Qiao and Zhuge Yue and Yan Xun as well that they had to obviously tone down solely because she was underage and because the age difference between her and the two actors just doesn't allow the existence of intimate scenes. Now I know this isn't a romance drama, but the love between Zhuge Yue and Chu Qiao, as well as Yan Xun's unhealthy obsession with her are a driving force and if it isn't properly delivered on screen , then the whole thing falls apart. Which is what is happening right now. I find most of her scenes with her male co-stars downright awkward and hard to watch, every time Yunrui lifts her in his arms they look like siblings, like real siblings, not the cdrama equivalent 🤣🤣🤣 And for all they've held back with her character, they're trying to fix by adding more intimate scenes for the side characters which comes off as uneven and unbalanced tbh.
And I am extremely disappointed because I was looking forward to this drama and I tried to like it and I do like it for the most part until she shows up on screen. I have nothing against the actress, but it's clear as a day she's ventured into something she's too young to understand and properly express.
Moments that I absolutely loved (these are some that I can remember right now): Zhuge Yue obliterating people dressed as the fake king of Ximeng- so hot 🥵
The scene where Yan Xun is being revived in the middle of an icy desert with ravens swarming him, and then he just opens his eyes, springs to his feet half-naked, while the black fur and his long hair sway in the wind? *CHEF'S KISS* LOVED IT!
Oh and crazy drunk princess reciting her sob story while drinking more wine, surrounded by paintings of a half-naked Yan Xun. GIRL SAAAMEEEEEE 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Da Wu San Jin (2025), aka Heavy Fog Has Cleared (2025) is a good fantasy revenge drama and a fated destiny between the leading couple played by ML: Liu Xiaoxu (as Zhang Liu Ling) and FL: Chen Luxi (as Jiang Yue). The cast did a fantastic job bringing their characters to life and the leading couple had sensual tantalizing interactions that turned into a mesmerizing, steadfast, and compelling romance.

Live Your Life with Color

Drama Stage Season 4: Mint Condition is a 1-episode drama about an angry old man who turns into a young man after a breakdown in an MRI machine. Later, he meets an indie hip-hop group consisting of three people and learns from them what life should really be about.

The drama has a unique premise and a clear message to deliver. However, the script doesn’t do it justice. Instead of properly building up the story within the limited one-episode format, it spends so much time on the comedic scenes here and there.

That said, the acting and chemistry are great, and the comedy is genuinely fun, making it still enjoyable to watch. The conclusion also feels right and fitting. As other reviewers have said, this story would have worked much better as a mini-series, it would have had enough time to develop the plot properly while still keeping all the comedic moments intact.

A Gritty Crime Drama Built on Unconventional Justice

The idea of using criminals to catch criminals—essentially “setting a thief to catch a thief”—was executed really well. Their methods and unconventional way of thinking added a unique edge to each investigation. 👍👍

One of the most interesting aspects was how the police department relied on the “boys” whenever they couldn’t solve major cases. It highlighted their limitations and how they often needed outside, unorthodox help to get results.

Each character had their own strengths and weaknesses, which made the team dynamic feel balanced and engaging. Even the boys, despite being formed into a convict task force, were still clearly caught up in their pasts. Their histories continued to follow them and influence how others perceived and treated them, adding another layer of depth to their characters and the overall story.

However, one weak point for me was the female cop. She came across as quite irksome, with a “she knows best” attitude. What stood out the most was her black-and-white mindset—she judged everything strictly as right or wrong, without considering deeper context. She looked down on Oh Goo Tak and the three men purely because of their criminal records, without trying to understand their pasts or the reasons behind their actions. This made her feel narrow-minded and lacking in insight compared to the rest of the team.

I was fully satisfied and excited when Oh Goo Tak called the female cop out -

"Aren't criminals also human? No matter how people change, once they have committed a crime, does that mean they must always be discriminated against? Listen up. You need the process but what they need are results. You're only doing this to climb the ladder of career advancement. But it's not like that for them. Even if their fingernails and toenails fall off and their bones all break, they will grit their teeth, bear the pain and keep climbing. why? Because if they fall, they will die. So if you cant even give them some ointment for their wounds, at least you shouldn't push them to their deaths. You are still a public servant."

When I read this, I was like, damn Mr. Squad Leader Oh..! Nice! That really shut her down, and it was easily one of the most satisfying moments in the drama. 😃

Even after that, she kept pushing her limits to find out whether the four of them were connected. I couldn’t tell if it was pure curiosity or just her stubborn black-and-white mindset and ego still refusing to let go. 😒🙄

Later on, she even betrayed her commissioner and switched sides for her own benefit, which honestly felt like a very ungrateful move just to get what she wanted. When she once asked why she was chosen to lead the team, Commissioner Nam gave her a straightforward answer instead of letting her overthink it (which, given her ambition and ego, she would likely never interpret correctly anyway):

"Because you are smart... and ambitious. Smart people dont see the world as it really is. They're only focus on what they are interested in, and they will make that their world for a long time. They have no idea what world is like for ordinary people. Ambitious people take no notice of others, because they are too desperate to feed their own ambition. What others might want, what others might hoping for, they dont want to see those thingsand they will never see them. "

When she shed a tear, I thought she had finally realized her arrogance and ignorance. But instead, she ended up turning her back on her own side and running toward a new one, still driven by ambition and the habit of stigmatizing others rather than truly understanding them.
