São **12 episódios**, com uma trama que funciona bem para maratonar e ainda traz reflexões sobre relacionamentos, escolhas e aparências.

Uma boa opção para quem gosta de dramas conjugais com suspense e reviravoltas.

Absolutely Beautiful and Devastating

I feel like rating this masterpiece a 10/10 is simply not enough.

Let me start by saying that this series made me feel so many emotions, emotions I honestly haven’t felt in a long time while watching a BL drama. The cinematography was incredibly beautiful, and while I understand that the story might not be for everyone, I personally loved the way the director left certain things open for the viewer to interpret and piece together.

And then there’s Qingtian’s death. I cried so much. Like, really cried. I haven’t been that emotionally destroyed by a character’s death in a series in a very long time. His death genuinely broke something in me. I’m probably going to go watch Secrets Happened on the Litchi Island now because my soul needs healing after that 😭

Changyang and Qinglang were also incredibly beautifully written characters. So many BL dramas rely on toxic misunderstandings, unhealthy relationships, or unnecessary conflict between the main couple. Seeing these two love each other with such sincerity and tenderness was honestly refreshing. Their relationship felt beautiful because it wasn’t built around hurting each other. It was built around understanding, protecting, and loving each other despite everything standing in their way.

And that ending oh my, I cried so much. The scene where Changyang finally comes back and Qinglang is still waiting for him after all those years absolutely destroyed me. The fact that Qinglang continued waiting, even after so much time had passed, showed such incredible determination and devotion. It was heartbreaking and beautiful at the same time. It made their love feel like something that survived time, distance, and everything life threw at them.

The series does a great job of showing the cruel reality of the entertainment industry as a whole. It’s not just about hiding their relationship. The constant speculation, rumors, blame, and judgment show how quickly people are willing to create their own version of the truth without knowing what is actually happening behind the scenes. One mistake, one rumor, or one accusation can completely change how the public sees someone. The pressure these characters face is honestly heartbreaking because they are not only trying to protect their careers, but also their personal lives and the people they love.

I think that’s what made their relationship hit even harder for me. They weren’t just fighting to be together. They were fighting for the right to love each other in a world that made that love incredibly difficult.

This series hurt me, made me cry, made me smile, and left me thinking about it long after the ending. A 10/10 doesn’t feel like enough. It’s one of those dramas that stays with you after you finish it, and honestly, I’m not sure my heart is ready to move on from it yet 😭❤️

absolutely adorable

these two were so cute i loved them so much. i couldnt even be upset about the fact there was only 5 episodes. its the perfect short and sweet drama that just fills your heart. amazing story about learning that you dont have to stop doinf stuff just because of your age and that truly, nobody cares. just a fantastic drama and i recommend it so much. i loved the characters so much and i love how we got to see them grow in such a short amount of time. seeing them together made me so happy and i wish we will be able to get another season or a movie but sadly i doubt it.

Nice drama, but not earth-shattering

This series was an easy watch; definitely filled with cute moments but nothing particularly new.

What I liked:
- Getting to see Tian Xi Wei in a modern drama. She's still just as cute here as she was in Pursuit of Jade.

- Getting to see Hu Yi Tian. It's been a little while since he's been in anything.

- Getting to "meet" some new actors and actresses. Some I knew of, but had never seen in anything before. Lai Wei Ming's role here made me appreciate him all the more. Poor guy can't catch a break in any of his dramas. I'd like to see him get his girl for once! Haha!
He and the actress who played his patient (Tian Yu Qing) were scene stealers for me whenever they were together. Wu Jia Kai (who played ZeQiu, and Vivienne (who played Jin Bai Hui) were also!! Such cute chemistry!

What I didn't like:
- For a storyline that touted the deep and meaningful love between the two main characters, I actually felt a lack of spark between Tian Xi Wei and Hu Yi Tian. Good friend vibe? Yes. Ride or die? Definitely. But lovers? It didn't translate that way on the screen for me. Even after they solidified their relationship, their kisses were either like awkward make-outs or brief, stiff puckers all the way through the drama. Not reflective of a lifelong connection that bloomed into romance.

Did I regret watching it? Certainly NOT. But will I remember it and watch it again? Mostly likely NOT.

Love the chemistry and relatability!

Wow I love the chemistry between both the leads and the beautiful vibe of this series! ✨ First of all, the casting of this series is excellent, and the music is really nice too!

But the biggest thing for me is how relatable it felt. The way Mayama feels about himself, like he is just out of place and can't be loved, and how he has such low self-esteem in front of other people... I feel like this will be very relatable to people who struggle with the same things in real life.

Especially that feeling of thinking we are inferior to others and that everyone else is better than us, or feeling like we aren't good enough or worthy of someone. But in reality, a lot of the time, it's just our own imagination making us feel that way. 🥹

Not for me.

After watching We Are and Me and Thee I was curious to see more of PondPhuwin's work and this one has Perth in it who I adore and I was interested to see him acting without Santa. I watched two episodes and lost motivation to watch any more.
The episodes that I watched weren't bad, on the contrary it was an interesting enough story (albeit a bit depressing) with interesting characters, but I just could not find the motivation to sit down and keep watching this one. Truthfully, Slice of Life is my least favorite genre when I'm watching Thai BLs, the pacing always feels slow to me and there's a lot of talking in circles, so I'm not particularly surprised that I lost interest. And not to mention the slow burn romance, I'm sure when fixed ships were new this type of relationship building was still very enjoyable, but nowadays when we know that the main characters are going to end up in a relationship regardless of the situation drawing the romance out and having jealous characters/love triangles just feels pointless.
For someone who loves SoL this series will probably seem fantastic to them, but it isn't for me. Maybe one day I'll try again, but probably not any time soon.

well, i never write reviews here, but this one wouldn't let me stay silent...

i feel like no words are enough to describe what it feels like to watch 'A Winter Sun Wakes the Wind in Spring Hill's Dream', at first i was captivated by the title alone, it felt unique, poetic, and full of meaning, even though i wasn't familiar with 'a winter sun's games, then i fell in love with the cinematography, the way it captures the beauty of nature is simply mesmerizing, after that i started to fall in love with the characters, how xu changyang could be so young and so mature, incredibly aware of how things should be, how life works, and so connected with nature, and how feng qinglang was so intense yet so calm, powerful with nothing more than a single glance and loved to see his growth, how lan jie brought such warmth and steadiness, they just got my heart warmer everytime they show us the bond between lan jie and qinglang, it was beautiful to see how their love and care for each other was genuine... and qingtian, such a pure soul, i can only hope that in another life he lives a long and a beautiful one with the one he loves, i got so emotional when i saw that whenshu ge came back to the great snow mountain to see the flower, and to remember him... and what can i even say about changyang and qinglang? they are truly everything to each other, it felt like a blessing to witness a relationship built on patience (a lot!), understanding, and quiet devotion, their bond became so deep that they barely needed words to understand one another, in the end they left who they were to become who they chose to be, together, lovingly marrying in the woods, where they belong, it was insanely beautiful... <3

I was overall in love with this production, the script so rich in every tiny detail, the background music and ost's was always gorgeous even if i didnt understand a single thing i could feel that it was heavily meaningful, all the 16 episodes are so strongly emotional we just went from 1 to 100 emotions in 40 minutes, i completely gave myself to this drama, each ep i was even more amazed and more grateful to be alive to watch it, it may not be for everyone but definitely the masterpiece of the century for me, definitely the most beautiful, unique, meaningful, poetic, utopic and emotionally honest thing i watched in my whole life, even at the very devastating moment it was the most incredible day i could experience... I know I'll be coming back to this story for the rest of my life!

It may look messy but i wrote this from the bottom of my heart, i hope it feels like what i felt while watching, i just have to say thank you Zelia, and thank you 'A Winter Sun Wakes The Wind In Spring Hill's Dream'! <3

Beautiful poetry

The majority of this series is pure art, like beautifully captivating poetry. I already know I will be rewatching this many times.
There are just a couple of things that, for me, dragged the story down to an 8.5
- Secondary couple? Absolutely unnecessary. Their pairing/plot contributed nothing to the overall story of the series; I basically skipped almost every single one of their scenes.
- Qianliang's past pairing? Too much power. They presented him as an actor with no longer any significant fame and no future, so how is it that he seemed to have so much power for practically the entirety of the series? Even in his death at the end, I mean, we kinda see it coming, which is fine, but then why all the implied hate towards Qianliang at a point where it no longer brings any weight or meaning to the plot?
- Too many tragedies. I understand that the first death was necessary for the individual development of all the other characters. But Qiantian's? That felt unnecessarily cruel towards his pain-filled character, who seems to finally be finding peace, and even asks for time to grieve a bit before starting his new story. Also, the way he died felt very muddy; I don't really understand the mystery surrounding it. And then the third death... it felt unnecessary and meaningless. I understand why his character would have done that earlier in the series: he had no fame left, no genuine people left, and even realised he was truly in love with Qianliang when he himself saw it was waaaaay too late; but to do it after everything has passed? After his redemption arc, plus 5 years into the future, where he even seems to be on good terms with Qianliang and is even mentioned to have retired? Make it make sense.

Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed this series, and I do plan to rewatch it multiple times in the future, but I will be skipping over what seems to be about a quarter of the series.

High-flying athleticism and extraordinary beauty

A wonderfully energetic showcase of high-flying athleticism and extraordinary beauty, Martial Arts of Shaolin is a spectacular, fast-paced and frequently sensational celebration of Lau Kar-leung's love for less fantastical martial arts, constantly pushing for the tenets of discipline, pacifism and tolerance. It's far less traditional than most of the typical Shaw Brothers output. There's no set or soundstage to be found here, with beautiful mountains, ancient cities and temples, and rolling green pastures hosting hundreds of extras in a lavish, large-scale epic. It does boast some fairly interesting meditations on Buddhism and the limits of pacifism in the face of injustice. However, this is about as straight-laced a revenge story as you could ask for, although the motivation for said revenge isn't even revealed until the very end; thus, it looks like the characters are just being arseholes to everyone they meet, it's a story that only exists to provide a framework for increasingly elaborate displays of physical skill and in that department, it's no slouch. Lau's direction is sublime; every bout feels like a natural one-upmanship of each other. Fights are fast without becoming incomprehensible, with a wonderful amount of variety, from traditional weapons combat to hand-to-hand duels and large-scale confrontations; the sheer physicality is exceptional. As one of Jet Li's earliest performances, there's a ripe youthful vigour about it, effortlessly switching between comedy and commanding when required; he has a tremendous screen presence, even when he is doing very little beyond demonstrating how impossibly fast he can move. He is astonishing. His speed, balance and precision are almost unreal, whether he is fighting with his bare hands, staff, sword or other weapons. The climax is where everything comes together, and after the slower character and training material, the film unleashes a succession of increasingly elaborate fights, culminating in a spectacular final confrontation. By this point, Martial Arts of Shaolin's relatively thin and increasingly uneven story hardly matters: the sheer skill of the performers and Lau's choreography provide all the momentum necessary, although far from one of his deepest or most sophisticated films, judging it purely as a showcase for classical kung fu, it is enormously entertaining.

Beautiful and confounding

I love this drama. It's cinematography is one of the best in the business. You can tell a lot of love went into making this.

However, I absolutely detest when I watch something and then have to go do homework to understand what I just watched because of writing or directorial decisions. It feels manipulative at best, and incompetent at worst. There were so many gaps in the story that I let go of because I love this drama. I gave it thee benefit of the doubt so often, that by the end I just shrugged and said maybe I'm too stupid to get it so why bother. An unfortunate conclusion to quite the thrilling watching experience.

Schizophrenic Double Dragon

Schizophrenic Double Dragon. Taking Jackie Chan's doctrine of building action-comedy around a simple idea pushed to ridiculous extremes, it's a shame that Twin Dragons amounts to a somewhat chaotic collection of comedy, romance, car chases and martial arts only barely held together by the sheer charisma of its leading man. The annoying thing is that there's a lot of genuinely funny shtick throughout, but it's hampered by erratic pacing and a disjointed structure. The separated siblings' story is hardly new, but the film is more interested in how much comic mileage can be extracted from having two Jackie Chans running around; once it cuts loose, however, it's a strong reminder of why Chan's early-1990s work remains so enjoyable. The fights are fast, inventive and packed with the kind of physical ingenuity that distinguishes him from his contemporaries. The climax, in particular, delivers some spectacular choreography, combining hand-to-hand combat, vehicles and elaborate physical gags with Chan's stunt work up to its usual impressive quality; it gives the film's action sequences considerably more energy than its rather thin story deserves. Despite being co-directed by Tsui Hark and Ringo Lam, two directors at the top of their game at the time, it's a film that doesn't feel like either of their respective styles; Hark's anarchic sensibilities and Lam's harder-edged action do not gel cohesively together, especially given all the glaringly cheesy camera trickery employed in some shots that greatly undercut the illusion of twin brothers in the same frame. Thankfully, Chan throws himself into both characters with enthusiasm; the contrast between the two brothers allows him to showcase different sides of his screen persona. Equally, Maggie Cheung and Nina Li Chi make for some wonderful supporting ladies, Kirk Wong makes for a great villain, and there's the sheer abundance of cameos from Hong Kong directors, maybe the most in the history of Hong Kong cinema, that prove to be the funniest additions, with Lau Kar-leung and Wong Jing as major highlights. Unfortunately, once the novelty of watching Chan interact with himself wears off, there isn't always enough underneath Twin Dragons to sustain the momentum. When it's funny, it's really funny, yet it could have all been so much better.

Watch City Hunter instead

A far less goofy but equally far inferior Die Hard on a Ship than that of Wong Jing's City Hunter, The Red Wolf, by Yuen Woo-Ping standards, is a very below-par effort. It essentially amounts to watching a rather boring, stripped-down version of Daddy Seagal's Under Siege; despite occasionally delivering flashes of exciting action, it's weighed down by a weak script, forgettable characters and inconsistent pacing, suffering from its own inability to create any form of engrossing narrative. Sadly, this concoction never really seems to gel, and the total lack of tension makes the scenario feel a lot less enticing. Yuen keeps things buttoned down for the first half hour but eventually unleashes the full force of the Hong Kong stunt community and the Die Hard trope generator, although it does all feel too little too late at that point. Once up to speed, the only reason the film ever slows down again is so people can torment Cecilia Ng Sin-Si. I don't know why Yuen picks her out for special treatment; she loses her dad straight away, her mother is then gunned down trying to protect her, and she spends the rest of the film being kidnapped, threatened, chased, strapped to a bomb and hung from a rope. Despite the contrary, this film is about action, not child abuse and in that regard, it's alright; there are some good bouts of combat that are decently inventive and make good use of the setting, but it's not all that memorable. Fresh-faced Kenny Ho brings little to the leading role; he doesn’t do anything specifically wrong, he just seems so incredibly bland, and it’s easy to see why he never really made it as a star. Christy Chung, on the other hand, is totally wasted as she has nothing to do other than scream a lot and get in the way during the action scenes. Outside of maybe the snazzy musical score, it's difficult to really recommend The Red Wolf; the lack of any real stand-out moments just leaves me constantly wanting something more. Watch City Hunter instead.

Makjang/Family drama

Before we start definition of makjang is basically over the top nonsense where you have to suspend all disbelief and just sit back and enjoy the absolute chaos and madness. (From redditor Burke_Dennings)

Started watching without too much expectations… trailer/teasers gives an idea of the characters, but story wise it is still unclear.

Pacing of story, it goes rather fast first few episodes the characters /main couple/family got set up. Some drama happens and then moves further closer to the present…
From experience watching other makjang dramas “Young lady and gentleman”, “Beauty and Mr. Romantic”, “Iron Family”, “What’s happens to my Family”, usually around episode 25-30 the pacing slows down or shifts more to the side characters, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing as the Main couple also needs a break and we might be curious what happens with the side characters and how they will influence the story.

Characters in the story are clearly set up that you either love of dislike. Although some characters are super mean but sometimes can’t help but feel they are cute in their own way… without spoiling too much… have you ever felt like someone sending you photos of their favourite daily actor/actress that it felt like violence to you xD
Either way you will know if you want to watch all episodes if you like the characters, else it is better to watch a different series.

This is my primary/favourite series this season.
On second priority I’m watching Spooky Love, Our Sticky Love
And on third priority…. “See you at work tomorrow”, “My beloved thief”

To give an idea of my taste….. recently finished “Love in Sync”: enjoyed for the cuteness and fluff (ML acting improved a lot and FL was for me amazing, although I saw opinions saying she was bad)
“Reborn Rookie”: enjoyed. Interesting story and it kept me wanting to know how the story would unfold. Definitely recommended if you like character growth and how they will take on the big bad villain(s)
“Sold Out on You”: mediocre though it has its cute and fun moments.
“Filling for Love”: same, mediocre though it has its cute and fun moments.
