Charming enough to enjoy, inconsistent enough to notice
A gentle, undemanding first-love romance that works best when it stops trying to be more than that. The campus atmosphere is pleasant, the central relationship develops with a sweetness that doesn't need to manufacture conflict to hold your attention, and Yu Lei and Chen Ke have a dynamic that I found easy to spend time with — the jealousy, the small gestures, the gradual shift from uncertainty to something more settled. For what it is, it mostly delivers. The cracks show in the details. A snow scene that aimed for romantic and landed somewhere closer to unintentionally comic — genuinely too many snowballs in too many hair. And the recurring use of "friends can hug" and "friends can kiss" as cover for feelings that are obviously already well past friendship wore thin fairly quickly. I understand the intent, but when the subtext is that legible, the text starts to feel constructed rather than natural.
The secondary characters are where the series loses the most ground. Underdeveloped subplots, a second lead whose shift arrives without sufficient buildup, and a character whose emotional breakdown lands disconnected from everything that preceded it because the series never properly laid the groundwork. These are structural issues that affect the overall flow even when the central romance is working.
The core of the series — Yu Lei and Chen Ke finding their way to each other — is warm enough to make the rest forgivable. Just don't come in expecting consistency.

is it safe to say Kdrama is back?
There is something so intensely cathartic about a plot where a completely broken educational system gets a radical, no-nonsense reboot. Watching a secret government task force get a literal license to use extreme physical force and savage psychological warfare against untouchable bullies and entitled parents gave me pure adrenaline. It taps perfectly into that real-world frustration we all feel when the rules fail to protect the innocent, turning heavy topics like cyberbullying and institutional corruption into these deeply satisfying, action-packed takedowns. Every single episode had me completely hooked and my heart crushed every time. It’s that perfect, painful mix where one minute you’re cheering because a ruthless bully is finally getting what's coming to them, and the next you’re a sobbing mess looking at the deep emotional scars left behind. Best kdrama this year.

It's really does hold its title, Queen of tears.
Queen of tears" nah I would say it is "King of tears" for me , I was randomly searching for enemy to lover K-dramas after watching "My demon" & "Business proposal", then I remember my friend have suggested me this before then I just clicked the play button but omg, who knew it's gonna be that addictive. When I started the series I thought it's story about just married couple who doesn't go along with each other. I tried skip the series but then when I saw "Hae-in" in the frame , she was really beautiful, no wonder "Hyun-woo" fell for her . I guess she is the reason I stayed to watch the show, but tbh Hae-in really ate her roll she did a great job and so flawless at that.
I don't fully remember, is it in EP 2 or 3....? but, the moment it's started to tear me up , I could not stop crying, I started to get scared of watching this in front of my family, what if I accidentally cried..? If they see me cried.? it's was really going to be a disaster.
*sigh* I hardly remember when the last time I cried, the reason I cried, it was like crying didn't existed for me , why would I even cry ..? I think I never found a reason behind it.
I have never watched any show that have made feel that emotional after Attack on Titan, I've just ended the series and my eyes are still yet to dry..
I have never thought love can be this beautiful, and a Romance show would make me feel that way , I have never liked Romance genre cause it's hangs you around all the time and don't give any reason behind it , but this show changed mind and of course I'm giving it 10/10 .
If you're getting an idea that this is a sad emotional romance then You've been greatly mistaken, cause the happy moments gonna make you tear up the most. And and and the music.... Omg that fit perfectly with every scene, it still now keep playing in my head... I know this post is getting long but I definitely need to say this, "Eun sung" you're literally a piece of shyt , well what can I expect from a son of a b!tch.
*Sigh*Anyway,I wonder where I gonna find this kind of love, is that kind of love do really exist..? That's the question I'm gonna ask myself every night I guess.
I really want to thank you for suggesting me this series, yes you're the only person who suggested me that , Thank You.
*Sigh* The opening music is still playing in my head...
🎶As long as you stay with me ,
Giving you all my heart
Giving you all my love,
As long as you stay with me🎶

Missed the impact created in the previous installment..
To fulfill Shi Yi's last wish, the one she made before committing suicide in her previous life, the writer is back with a modern-day plot to give her a satisfying closure with Chen Zhousheng, though this time Chen is his given name.A thousand years have passed since that tragedy. The landscape has changed. This is a free world, so the approach towards romance has changed too. No oaths, no promises standing in their way anymore.
Yet, despite all the conditions supporting their love story, it still felt flat and soggy.
The very impact of the star-crossed lovers' reunion is missing. I mean, their first meeting could have been so much better than Shi Yi simply calling out his name and asking for his email address at the airport.
I was extremely disappointed to see that CZS had no memory of his past life. I mean, why? Wasn't he equally involved? Him not carrying those memories made it feel as if his attachment to Shi Yi wasn't as strong as the writer had suggested in the previous part.
Imagine crying for two hours straight while watching their tragic love story, only to click on the next installment and find out that the ML has no memory of their past together, neither in the first episode nor in the last. It felt almost like betrayal.
And to make things worse, they added family politics BS and other filler plots that felt too superficial. Sure, the stepmother's involvement in the ML's private life was more annoying than his oath in his previous life.
They jumped into the marriage segment pretty quickly, which was predictable because this man pretty much existed to marry Shi Yi and fulfill her wish. But his obsession with getting tailored dresses made for the FL for every occasion felt repetitive and boring. Like, can't you think of something more magical for lovers reuniting after a thousand years?
I finished this show solely because of my love and respect for Bai Lu.

This drama should be titled: Immortal samSNORA/ immortal samSORRY/ immortal samSLUMBER~~
The second part picks up exactly where Part 1 left off. Now, considering how painful the first season became towards the end, I went into this one carrying a tiny spark of hope. Maybe this part would address some of my grievances. Maybe the pacing would improve. Maybe the characters would finally start using the cranial and magical powers a little.
Maybe.
But none of that happened.
In fact, somehow, this season managed to be even messier and less rewarding.
One thing I did appreciate was YY. Even after regaining his memories, he continues to acknowledge his feelings for YD. No unnecessary amnesia drama, no "I must deny my feelings cause I have to save the world " BS*. He knows whom he loves, and he's determined to make things right. He's even ready to renounce his godhood and leave everything behind for his beloved.
Sounds romantic, doesn't it?
Well...
The execution was about as exciting as watching paint dry.
Bro, you are a literal Heavenly God.
A GOD.
Why are you standing there looking mildly concerned while the villain casually destroys evidence right in front of you?
Do something!
Shoot lightning.
Freeze time.
Throw a mountain.
Pull out some ancient divine technique hidden in your sleeve.
Anything.
Instead, his entire strategy seems to be:
1. Arrive.
2. Look worried.
3. Say, "This can't continue."
4. Continue letting it continue.
At some point I stopped feeling frustrated, His approach is so passive that i ...🥱🥱🥱🥱🥱.
So...I dropped it at Episode 10. I simply couldn't do it anymore. Apparently Life is short. My watchlist is long. Besides, I already know how this is going to end. ML and FL die in the final episode so there is exactly nothing to look forward to.
So yes, I'm stepping off this train.

A Dark and Passionate Tale of Forbidden Love
*I have invested 5 years of my life to read this manhwa while it was airing, from start to finish. So my review will be comparative in nature without spoiling the important bits*This was one of those manhwas that made me go from "what the hell did I get myself into?!" to "Well, that was HELL of an infuriating ride... but DAMN, that was a satisfying ending! I kinda like it :p". By the record, this was my first ever red flag manhwa that shaped me into this 'toxic love" addicted creature. It was an anxious read, problematic and dubious af, which was obviously not at all comforting to read but, oh, I live for those angsty crumbs.
Now about the drama; honestly and first of all, I was quite doubtful about this adaptation because of its problematic nature, and how they're supposed to showcase such things in the media. But after watching I can say they toned it down A LOT! And I think it's for the better to make it watchable on screen. Omitting the gruesome portrayal of abuse and sufferings was needed because it's not for this type of format. Some things are better if they stay hidden in the closed folds of paper. The content is HUGE and so summing them up within 2 hrs is pretty much commendable. There are no boring moments. So you're are presented a angsty romance with lots of twists and turns!
My only problem is the vertical format. This format doesn't really allow the storylines to delve deeper. But I'm quite happy and satisfied with this adaptation and I must admit that.
Character wise, in the manhwa and drama, Nakyum is still lovely, lively and full of warmth, but it's Seungho who had a great character change in terms of its source material. Here Seung Ho is more humane than he is shown in the manhwa. Those sharp brush strokes, cold, cynical blazing gaze says that his character is basically emotionless, crazy and tyrant. But in the live adaptation, just because it's a real person acting, his character felt way more humane, soft and loveable than he was there, which I quite liked.
The actors did a wonderful job! Each and every character was promising, and they gave their best. The direction was also well done, as it literally made me see those still panels coming back to life as if I was reliving the manhwa in front of my eyes. It's one of those manhwas that I'd be uncomfortable/ embarassed to read in public and honestly, I didn't and don't expect to see those level of smutty illustrations in this short vertical format. Kisses were so-so, could have been better, intimate scenes were quite bland, but in this short time not everything could be done as per our taste. Also, there were quite a few changes in this, but not that evident enough to see if one doesn't know what's in the manhwa.
Overall, I liked it inspite of my initial concerns as the adaptation followed the manhwa very, very well!
P.S: Here linking my feeds post in the comments for those who wants to see the pictorial similarities in the manhwa and the drama.

So .. He died in the end anyway...
The story follows a sickly or poisoned former martial arts sect leader, LX, who gets unexpectedly tangled up with a rookie detective. Together, they investigate a series of strange murders and bizarre crimes. As they peel back the layers of each case, a much darker mystery connected to their own pasts slowly begins to emerge. For the first thirty episodes, the drama was actually pretty decent. It wasn't some masterpiece that would leave you speechless, but it was engaging enough. The slow-burn investigations, the mystery, the character dynamics... it all worked well enough to keep me watching.
But those last ten episodes?😮💨😮💨😮💨
They felt less like a drama series and more like serving a full life sentence.
No, seriously. At one point I caught myself looking at my syllabus books and thinking, "You know what? These are actually more interesting." That's how badly the plot started dragging.
The biggest problem was that everyone seemed to lose their common sense. The characters suddenly became frustrating, the dialogues turned painfully repetitive, and scenes that should have lasted two minutes somehow stretched into eternity. Take that pagoda sequence, for example. They were supposedly racing against time to find the mother bug, the villain could have returned with his entire gang at any moment, and what do our heroes do? Casually stroll around the crime scene, discussing theories, visualising events, and having long philosophical conversations as if they're on a sightseeing tour. The urgency was nowhere to be found.
And the worst part? The drama is packed with moments like this. Every time something important was about to happen, the characters would stop for another unnecessarily long conversation. It felt as if the writers were being paid by the minute and were determined to squeeze every last second out of each scene.
By the end, I wasn't even curious about the mystery anymore. I was just curious whether the episode would finally end.
It's genuinely disappointing because the drama had a solid premise, a fairly interesting central mystery, and enough potential to be memorable. Instead, the final stretch drains all the momentum built up in the earlier episodes. What started as an intriguing investigative drama eventually turns into an endurance test for the audience.
Now, onto the good stuff.
Cheng Yi was excellent. He played the role so convincingly that he was looking genuinely sick, exhausted and fragile. But I do think LX deserved his own victory moment, After making him suffer through illness, betrayal, and endless injuries the writer still chose to kill him in the end.... Like...
Why ?????? What was the reason??? 😭
Surprisingly, I found myself liking Joseph's FX more. Watching him grow from a spoiled, impulsive brat into someone with genuine ambition and purpose was incredibly satisfying. And I absolutely loved that he chose to continue travelling the martial world instead of settling down. It felt true to who he had become.
The styling was exactly what you'd expect from a wuxia period drama. Elegant costumes, beautiful scenery, and all the flowing robes your heart could desire. Nothing revolutionary, but it did its job well.
And the OST?
Oh !! It was an absolute banger. And why not.... It's sung by Yunning. That man simply refuses to release mediocre tracks.
In the end, this drama could have been so much better if the writers had stayed committed till the very end. The ingredients were all there: an intriguing mystery, compelling characters, and a fascinating world. But the final stretch stumbled so badly that it left me wondering if the writers themselves had lost the mother bug.
Would I recommend it????
Actually, yes. 🙈
Despite all my complaints, I think it's worth giving a chance. Try the first five episodes. If the characters and the investigative vibe click with you, you'll probably enjoy most of the ride.
Just be prepared for the last ten episodes.

Fun but anti-climatic
I’ve watched a lot of dramas that I otherwise wouldn’t based on the reviews of others, when the poster/synopsis/cast itself doesn’t necessarily captivate me, this was one of those times, and good that I did.To start with the conclusion. Am I glad I watched this drama? Absolutely, it’s fun and the characters are incredible. Will I rewatch this sometime in the future? Probably not.
You should definitely watch this if:
1) You enjoy legal dramas,
2) You enjoy slightly over the top comedy,
3) Enjoy bantering as a plot point not a tool
You should not watch this if:
1) You’re expecting any romance, I feel like it was mis-tagged,
2) You need a fleshed out ending that neatly ties off all the stories,
3) You haven’t watched any of the many other very popular legal comedies (Suspicious Partner, One Dollar Lawyer, Welcome 2 Life, to mention my personal favorites)
Now to some other things I’d like to mention.
Story:
- The ending gets rounded off, but I personally wished they had spent 1-1.5 episodes more to really focus in on what was supposed to be the “big bad”. There’s a lot of setup for a brief climax, I think.
- The device of “show, don’t tell” is an art form, and maybe I wasn’t paying attention, but I swear I was. The drama will quite frequently neither show, nor tell. I feel like I had to assume how “A knew X”, usually it would be a chain of seeing/hearing B, C, D which leads to knowing X.
Acting/Cast:
- The acting truly carries the drama. The main leads’ interactions are great, the interactions between the leads and the primary side characters are great. Truly, I got invested in so many characters, and I usually don’t. This is probably a reason why I wish they had invested more in the ending, because I wanted more time to see what happened with everyone.
Music:
- I had a really hard time figuring out what to score the music. The music “design” is great, it’s fresh, fun, varied, and very different from other dramas. But, the “application” of these designs were jarring at times, the volume in some scenes would genuinely completely overpower the important dialogue that is happening.

I found *Teach You a Lesson* to be one of the most frustrating school dramas I've watched. Instead of presenting a balanced look at the relationship between teachers and students, the series often felt like it was written to defend abusive and unethical teachers while placing most of the blame on students.Throughout the drama, there seems to be a strong effort to justify old-fashioned attitudes toward education, including the idea that harsh treatment and physical punishment somehow help children. Rather than seriously questioning these practices, the story often appears to excuse them or portray them as necessary. As someone who believes students deserve respect and protection, I found this message deeply uncomfortable.
What bothered me even more was how the drama handled accusations and misconduct involving teachers. Whenever a teacher was accused of inappropriate behavior, the narrative seemed determined to prove the teacher innocent while casting suspicion on students. The show repeatedly pushes the idea that teachers are misunderstood victims and that students are dishonest troublemakers. This creates a one-sided portrayal that ignores the reality that authority figures can abuse their power and that students can be genuine victims.
The drama also suffers from an unhealthy tendency to treat teachers as morally superior simply because they are adults or hold positions of authority. Students are frequently portrayed as irresponsible, malicious, or criminal, while teachers receive endless sympathy and understanding. This imbalance makes it difficult to take the story seriously, especially when it asks viewers to excuse behavior that would be unacceptable in real life.
What makes this even more frustrating is that it feels like part of a larger trend I have noticed in some recent dramas. More and more, I see stories that seem determined to romanticize or justify harmful behavior instead of challenging it. Some dramas appear to defend the physical punishment of children and teenagers. Others push the message that women should be pressured into motherhood regardless of their own wishes. There are also stories that blur the line between consent and romance, portraying situations involving intoxication or impaired judgment as if they were romantic rather than deeply troubling. Whether intentional or not, these narratives often come across as attempts to normalize ideas that should be questioned and debated, not celebrated.
A good school drama should explore both sides of conflicts and recognize that both teachers and students are capable of making mistakes. Unfortunately, *Teach You a Lesson* often feels more interested in protecting the reputation of authority figures than honestly examining the problems that can exist within schools. Instead of encouraging accountability, it seems determined to defend those in power at almost every opportunity.
In the end, I came away feeling that the drama was less about education and more about justifying outdated beliefs about discipline, authority, and unquestioning respect for those above you. While some viewers may appreciate its perspective, I found it biased, unrealistic, and at times disturbingly dismissive of student experiences. For me, it was a disappointing watch that failed to provide the balanced and thoughtful examination of school life that it could have been.
As Episode 3 demonstrates, many of the adults in this story do not seem interested in helping children grow, learn, or overcome their problems. Instead, they appear more concerned with blaming students for every issue and using their authority to settle personal grudges. The episode gives the impression that certain teachers view students not as young people who need guidance, but as targets for their frustration and resentment. Rather than acting as mentors, they often come across as individuals seeking revenge for their own disappointments, projecting their anger onto children who have little power to defend themselves.
This is one of the reasons I found the drama so frustrating. The story repeatedly expects viewers to sympathize with authority figures while ignoring how unfairly students are treated. Even when adults behave unprofessionally or abusively, the narrative often shifts the blame back onto the children. The result is a drama that feels less like a thoughtful examination of education and more like an attempt to justify adults who misuse their power while portraying students as inherently problematic.
Episode 3 particularly reinforced my belief that the show's priorities are misplaced. Instead of focusing on how teachers can support and protect students, it presents an environment where children are constantly judged, blamed, and punished. The message seems to be that students must earn basic respect, while teachers deserve sympathy regardless of their actions. I found that perspective both unrealistic and deeply troubling.
and thank you for your advices to rate it higher and how i am wrong and you all are right and this drama is Greatest thing ever happen .

Exactly why i love time travel stories
As someone who has always loved time-travel stories, this drama felt like it was made for me. I was completely invested in both timelines, not just the historical storyline but also everything happening in the present, which made the whole experience even more engaging. The way the two narratives connected kept me curious from start to finish, while the romance was full of longing, trust, and genuinely emotional moments. The chemistry between the leads was fantastic and made it impossible not to root for them, adding so much emotional weight to both the romantic and more dramatic scenes. What really sealed the deal for me, though, was the finale. After everything these characters went through, the ending felt satisfying, rewarding, and exactly what I wanted from this kind of story. Romantic, immersive, emotional, and incredibly entertaining from beginning to end.Was this review helpful to you?

so worth the wait
I really don't even know what specifically to touch upon with this series, I'm kinda in awe after the last episode.Net and JJ did such a fantastic job, Domundi really does put in the effort.
The yearning you feel watching both NetJJ and LatteKim's character stories is addicting imo.
I personally love period drama's, and this one did not disappoint.
JJ's character is such a goofball but I was so here for it, I truly did not expect him to pull a 180 with the scenes where the character is being killed/harmed.
I have to make a point about Latte and Kim, I was really impressed with them. Kim is absolutely gorgeous, the final episode had him all glammed up and I was here for it.
The NC scenes were done so well too.
I think, personally, the last episode felt a bit rushed. Everything happened so fast with the memories reveal and all the things leading up to Nakun going back in time and returning to the present day, I was not expecting Phop to have already been waiting. I really did like how they handled the time travel bit, I just wished it was prolonged a little more maybe?
It's still a fantastic series in my eyes and I am looking forward to what both NetJJ and LatteKim bring to the table moving forward.
