MUST SEE and so damn close to the best C-Drama I've ever seen!
(I'll warn you when this review drifts into spoiler territory.)My first C-Drama was RUYI'S ROYAL LOVE IN THE PALACE back during Covid. I consider it a 'long form' series which means more than 12 episodes, and it's still the best long form series I've seen out of over 30 series. BLOSSOMS SHANGHAI had the potential to beat it, but dropped the ball in the final episodes. Fortunately, the ball is merely a small marble.
I like to follow actors around, and RUYI's Xin Zhi Lei (Princess Jia) brought me to BLOSSOMS SHANGHAI. I've seen her play various roles, but her strength is duplicitous vixen. Or sweetheart serpent. In this story she's a WEAPON and deployed perfectly in each frame. This series should land her some great roles in the future.
Thanks to TO THE WONDER (best short form C-Drama I've ever seen) and INTERLACED SCENES, I also came to this series to see Ma Yi Li. Anything she's in is gold and she doesn't disappoint. She's full of her usual passion, emotion, and broken dreams.
I see from her many credits that Tiffany Tang is legend, but she's a new actress for me. She had absolutely no problem sharing the limelight alongside Xin Zhi Lei and Ma Yi Li. I particularly enjoyed when she delivered lines with food in her mouth, lol. I will try to watch some her work soon.
Anyone who is a fan of world class strong female leads MUST SEE this show. To have them all in one show is a WOW.
Also new to me was none other than our lead male playing Mr. Bao, Hu Ge. In this series he's doing his best to be the Chinese George Clooney. Hu Ge plays a local legend in Shanghai, a man that can survive anything.
He survives the roaring 90's stock market. He prospers in various businesses. Under the guidance of the charming Uncle Ye he can handle almost anything: except the three aforementioned women. And one I haven't mentioned yet.
(Entering light spoiler territory)
You see, Blossoms Shanghai is a highly unique and perfectly executed love quadrangle. But by 'perfectly executed,' I don't mean it's as lovey-dovey as you'd expect. Some consider this a serious shortcoming of the series. I actually found it refreshing, realistic, and poignantly moving for true love to be so unrequited all over the place.
Kind-hearted romantic C-Dramas have a way of pairing up all sorts of characters into couples at the end. Nobody leaves 'the prom' without a date.
But in BLOSSOMS, I felt for every woman who felt Mr. Bao was out of her reach -- just as -- I felt for Mr. Bao who had a woman (or two?) always out of his reach. Uncle Ye made a point of repeating that you can't mix business with pleasure, and man did this series slam that idea home.
Great credit is due to the legendary film director Wong Kar Wai and the cinematography. This claustrophobic series lurks behind behind walls, peeks thru windows -- and yet -- manages to put you alongside these characters as well.
You will not only love every lead in this series but outright adore every supporting character. I mean every one of them, including the cigarette guy. The depth to these characters is why the show takes about 5 or so episodes to get rolling.
These people become your family and you'll miss almost all of them at series end. I'm certain most of these actors will never look this good again. The camera work and lighting and staging and costumes and set design is off the map great.
I wasn't familiar with the period pop songs throughout but they added to the carefully crafted atmosphere. And I enjoyed the Morricone inspired moments in the soundtrack score.
So why not a perfect 10 score? (9.5 isn't bad, mind you!)
1. The story is (kinda) much ado about nothing. It's a soap opera of sorts, that focuses mostly on money instead of mating. So this series bounces people off each other instead of lips. I made up a term for this series: People Opera. And it's a really great People Opera. But at the end of the day, it's just a story about a man, a street, everyone on it and their country -- trying to grow in stature. As Tina Turner once said, "What's love got to do with it?"
2. The other shortcoming is that the story kinda chickened out at the end, in the romance sense. As great as the final goodbye was between Mr. Bao and Li Li in Ep 27, I felt these two had a little more to say to each other -- about each other -- and I felt cheated. I felt this broken heart's club needed a first kiss -- that was tragically their last kiss as well.
3. Also, the final shots of Mr. Bao in the fields with electrical transmission towers simply didn't land right for me. The way we saw Miss Wang slowly leave Huange Street -- chatting with the cigarette dude -- is really how Mr. Bao needed to leave the series. His buying land thing came off as flat and irrelevant.
4. Also, the show hinted that the new elevator operator was like a young Ah Bao and that Bao was transitioning into an Uncle Ye. Perhaps they should have pursed that literally, by Bao saying goodbye to that street and inviting the young man to join his land venture. By inviting the boy off that street that seems to destroy lives, it would be a sign that the one thing Bao doesn't recommend is becoming a Mr. Bao.
And now some picky stuff --
1. The story starts with a car accident, to explain the real world scars on Hu Ge's face he got from a tragic car accident that nearly killed him. But I didn't know that until deep in the series. And so I was confused as to why Bao's face had those scars in flashbacks the occurred before the story's car accident. These needed to either be digitally removed, or explained away regarding a childhood bully who beat him senseless. It was lazy and jarring to leave the scars there.
2. Li Li's last words to Bao are her name. She says 'Li Li' and then runs up some stairs. Huh? Normally her departure might have inspired him to say 'Li Li' as in he had something more to say to her. It demonstrated to me that as amazing as this goodbye scene was -- and totally worth rewatching -- WKW still didn't quite nail this scene as I suggested earlier. Like the scars, it was just sloppy.
3. The series starts slow. Despite the appearance of a frenetic pace, it introduces a ton of characters and it takes -- I don't know -- 5 to 7 episodes to become addictive.
OVERALL: drop what you're doing and watch BLOSSOMS SHANGHAI. It's an extremely special experience.

my review
i gave it two points because Jisung is in it. Looking at the movie poster, I was really expecting something high-quality in terms of both content and production. It was a huge disappointment.I don't even want to talk about the ridiculous personalities of the main characters; Jisung being so innocent and vulnerable, like a lamb, while the other guy acted like he had a personality disorder, was disturbing. The production was terrible, everything—the script, the camera angles, whatever. It was a total disappointment. 😓Was this review helpful to you?

A love that needs no labels, a love that dares to stay undefined.
Throughout the series, I had mixed feelings about the way the story was told. I found myself confused, endeared, longing, and melancholic, every emotion and scene burying deeper into me and leaving me with more questions than answers. The story itself is hard to relate and integrate into, yet, the characters add so much depth, flaws, nuance and vibrance to what would otherwise hold no form. One of the asterstrokes of the story was Sumiko and Ryu's mother, both abandoned by family that ought to catch you when you fall, yet refusing to stay within the grasp of its pain. Their kindness, strength, refusal to diminish themselves even when it comes to being a mother, a wife, and a friend, refusing to give up love for their own self in the name of sacrifice truly settled down something deep within me.
Ryu and Yohan's relationship was so sheer, raw, unexplained and unapologetic. The team took such a brave yet dangerous step in deciding to leave most of their genuinity, closeness and tenderness hidden behind the scenes. And this is exactly what pushed us audience into the role of the society around them. We know they live together, we know they belong to each other in ways we'll ever be left guessing, we know they share a home- and that's all we know. Oftentimes, we look at snippets of people living next to us and carve out their life deciding we know enought about them to do so. Just like that, within this story, we are left to project our ideologies into their relationship, forcing it to fit within frames that were never meant to hold them.
We yearn for a conclusion, a label, a status, an answer. But, the series remains stubborn in not giving one. It dares us to fill in the gaps left behind while silently moving forward on its own terms with no remorse. And that's where it perfectly captures life and love. It flawlessly denies conformity and definitions, truly existing free within a literary utopia where to live together and create a home, you owe no one any explanations.

I went in thinking its an independent story and only found out its a sequel almost half way through. Never watched Princess agent nor have I read the book. The start was really rough but I pushed through becuase the visuals look absolutely stunning. You can see they had a vision before going in. The story takes place in 4 different countries and each have a different aesthetic unique to them. The settings, the outfits and the stylings are gorgeous. The earthy toned fits of Yen bei people against those red mountains, the flowy fabrics of womens skirt in biantang palace, the black icy cliffs in ximeng.... so much beautiful scenery.
As a whole the cinematography is something to die for. I wish I could put it all into words but unfortunatly Im not that great in describing imagiry. The only thing I didnt like was that it had too many close up shots where actors were looking straight into the camera. That was weird. But outside of that, loved everything else.
The script just sucks. First few episodes is spent on re telling what went down before the ice lake incident so its basically a rundown of princess agent. So much information is being fed to us without letting any of it sit and marinate. Like some stuff needed an episode atleast not 15 secondes....
The excessive amount of flashbacks in the beggining was annoying to watch. Its so patchy it feels like a collage.
Even later on when the story finally come back to now, it just jumps rather than flow. The pacing here was real weird.
I think they were a bit too ambitious and bit to much they couldnt chew. It was supposed to be an epic story with lots of ups and downs but what came out is a free falling melo drama.
Chu qiao was never believable as a general or a lover. Her real age shows. Its not her fault. She is acting her butt off but a miscast is a miscast. They shouldnt have casted a 17 year old to play her.
I wish there was no romance included. Their feelings develop so fast it comes out of nowhere. The age gap is weird and the actors have 0 chemistry. BORING
Speaking of boring .... Chu qiao and Juge yue are not anything to write home about individualy either. Actualy they are so boring that any other character washes them out in terms of intrigue. I couldnt care any less about these two characters endeavors. It might be becuase I havent watched PA but the " lets abolish slavery " thing was never realy palpable to me.
It also sucks how much plot armor these two recieve. They know everything all the time and always manage to be at the scene of the crime to play hero no matter where it is. They infiltrate the most highly guarded places of all countries back to back to back with ease. One day they're in biantang, next day at ximeng , next yaenbei. Its just ridiculous.
Its like time and distance are nonexistent concept in this story. Chu qiao and juge yue just teleport to places I assume.
Yan xun, Helian, general Huan Huan, chen ye were more interesting characters. They got to have an actuall character arc atleast no matter how annoying they were.
Also many scenes get repeated like people constantly dying and coming back to life or Yan xun getting married. How many time this guy wore grooms outfit in this drama I lost count.... it feels like we're going in circles.
The ending wasnt the best. Wasnt the worst either. In one hand Im happy that yan xun got his head out of his ass. Long live yen bei people and all. It was time the country got saved. Loved that bittersweet wedding scene. They had to submit to fate after all.
Also war is inevitable. Its nice to see everyone let go of thier resentments to unite. The ending battle scenes was so good.
On the other hand.......
That dreaming scenes?? Hated it.
Was it really neccessary to kill so many of??

well well well
I gave it a rating only because of Eunwoo's handsome face; otherwise, it's not even worth rating 😃😓I never understood why Bastol was chosen for the lead role; she's one of the worst actresses I've ever seen in K-drama history (and I'm not just talking about this role). Actually, the storyline is decent and the production isn't bad, but honestly, even though it's a series, the fact that it's so unrealistic isn't really my cup of tea. And unfortunately, what really made the series unwatchable was the lead actress. I'm not saying Eunwoo's acting was 10/10, of course; as I said, the female character gave me the ick😓. I have nothing against the actor who plays the character, of course he's an actor, he's doing his job, but I really didn't like it, sorry not sorry.

Overall 8.5/10🌟🌟🌟🌟
I really enjoyed watching each episode; it felt like art for real. So intriguing, I binged it in one day. Would I watch it again? Probably not... but it was very enjoyable rewatch value 5/10? story 8/10, casting and ost 10/10
I'm between giving the show a 9/10 or an 8/10, so I'll go with 8.5
The ending just made me feel like - "that was it?" all that build up for this? It felt like a bit of a shame, but also not a miss or bad ending. I would definitely recommend it if you enjoy mystery shows. This one has you watching it all in one go!
Shin Hye Sun again proved that she never disappoints with her acting!

An amazing seat edge thriller with wonderful performances from cast
Every episode has a new twist and ever character in the bus has untold story.
Although the police station scenes are litle frustating where every time they question main leads as prime suspects, these scenes are very much needed to keep plot movimg as main leads do not have any power of foresight
One question though how come main leads sleep every time when they are interrgated when the situation is not in their favour
Overall its an amazing watch and it's a pity that it does not get much attention it required in the genre of mystery and suspense

Scripted compared to s1 but the times they showed their real self although few were good
I might have found season 1 boring cz the episodes were longer and included pretty much everything from the judge's discussion to awkward silences whereas season 2 didn't have that. It is much more engaging and easy to watch but i would still say I like season 1 much better. When I watched season 1 I didn't feel like I was watching actors or celebs instead I felt like I was watching them as a person. Like on day 1 you could literally feel the awkwardness among the contestants and also the stress and anxiousness when it comes to the tasks and finding their partner. You could feel them.In season 2 I pretty much felt no one. There were very few moments where you'd see the person in those actors and it was obvious like you'd see JJ trying hard to interact with people in ep 1 by bombarding them with jokes and later calming down once net shows up, auou being anxious about the shoot, latte being frustrated cz he didn't perform well etc.
I could really feel that JimmyOhm, NetJJ, TeeteePor, LatteKim were already pairs they definitely weren't here to find pairs. When it comes to AueuSave at first I had my doubts but then once they told they were alredy working on Your Sky's workshop it was obvious they were a pair too just trying to copy some things from season 1 to make this season seem realistic. It was pretty obvious that no one was looking for a pair since ep 1 cz no one seemed interested or worried unlike in season 1 were people were afraid (like FirstOne) picking the wrong person might do more damage than good. Also Ryujin coming in seemed soo scripted. It was obvious he was there for Patji cz no one was trying to even consider him as a partner (obviously cz they were all paired up) also the age difference made it pretty obvious he was there for him but Pat is not legal yet so let's just put it out there without pushing it a lot.
For me, when someone says DMD Friendship it's like a place where I can know how these pair's journey started but in this season that was not the case here. During the interviews it was obvious everyone were already fixed pairs before the show. They're here to promote and most of them are already on shoot also no way can they pick a new partner here cz that would definitely affect the series they're working on. Also if u noticed this season it's been 3 episodes but only once they asked for the players who didn't win the task to pick a partner and go on date if they match (we know why). Also during these "dates" you can barely see them actually having deep conversations trying to learn each other to see if they can be a pair unlike what we had in seaon 1 where the whole date they'd actually talk instead of being on their phones. I kinda missed the Polaroid camera😅
Anyways it is entertaining although i didn't like that it was scripted and just a promotion cz it feels like they're just playing with our feelings kinda.
So far my favorite episode is the play episode. Damn JimmyOhm made me cry like a baby. Now i get why people were sad when they broke up. I'm happy Latte finally found his partner but he still carries the same problem he had in season 1. He gets too anxious and messes up and then continues to dwell on that mistake for a long time but one thing i observed was that now that he had Kim he was less anxious and didn't force himself to interact with people. He was much more relaxed although he was still anxious. I really hope he fixes that issue cz on a long run that's not gonna help. He should learn to chill a bit. Like gemini says "try it and if u fail fuck it"
I really would love to review each pair but then i felt everyone was just fanservicing so i don't hv anything to say about them.
Right now after 3 episodes my favorite pairs would be (frankly no one solely based on this show but if i compare other things too) LatteKim, TeeteePor and JimmyOhm
Edit: now that I've watched the show I'd like to review the pairs
- JimmyOhm - They came out as a very mature pair to me compared to others. When it comes to me their highlight was the play where they made me cry and Jimmy getting jealous of Por for taking Ohm on a date. Every performance they gave on the show was kinda sad themed ones, kinda like subtle foreshadowing of the future is what i felt. They made me cry both on the show and irl .Unfortunately I'm here after they broke up so a lot of things they said kinda hit hard and made me feel sad. Well let's treasure the past and dive into the future.
- LatteKim - Latte and Gem were the 2 contestants who i really empathized with in season 1. As i said before Latte is someone who gets anxious easily. Although it was obvious Latte was there for Kim since day 1 and there were small things that were different about Latte now that he had Kim, i still wondered why did they choose each other as partners cz Latte didn't seem to be into it and Kim was a quite person by nature. That was until they got the friendship time🤣🤣. The way Latte switched his personality once he was with Kim i was like.. yeah now i get it😆. This was consistent Latte didn't talk much in huge groups but in his 1-1 he spoke a lot with people it may be kim or teetee. You could see him having Kim gave him a sense of security. Also i noticed he was much more confident asking kim to choose him unlike season 1 where he seemed desperate. Him trying to act cool but being a total loser for kim was just adorable ❤️. Loved their finale performance 🤭🤭 all they did was self service
- TeeteePor - apparently i was wrong about them being a pair before the show. Por was in your sky but tee tee joined later after becoming his partner in this show. Gotta say they had really good chemistry since day 1 cz i really cannot believe the play was their 1st interaction together. I Really like the way Por played. He had frienship time 3 times and it made sense why he chose each 1 of them ohm (friend), teetee(chemistry) and pat (nong who was upset for not being chosen🤣) and it was kinda obvious he didn't pick teetee twice to kinda tease him. I really liked how they kept their promise to sing and dance together in the finale🤭 cz in seasoj 1 i remember teetee dancing cz he wasn't good at singing and por saying he preferred singing. They both learnt something and i think the win was justified they did really good.
- NetJJ - I kinda get why people like this pair now that I've watched this show, i wanna support them myself. I cried when they had the deep convo before picking their partner. Net who never thought he'd ever have a permanent partner again and unexpectedly finding one. JJ who has had a hard time with success choosing to pick Net against a really big fandom from his past pairing. You could see JJs fears and i kinda get now why Net is soo protective about him. The kid really risked it all
- AueuSave - initially i really felt they were acting copying a lot of things from season 1 but yeah by the end that was not the case. But i did see Latte in Auau when he was upset for not winning. His interaction with Por and their friendship was something rare and new🤌❤️. As for save he was downbad since ep 1🤭 he kept trying till the end and succeeded. Another thing i noticed is Aueu's acting is underrated. I felt he did a really good job in the play episode and didn't win cz pat was a newbie and nervous. As for save damn his smile is soo freaking adorable. I was really happey when Aueu won the best performance award cz he really needed that. He kept losing after coming really close to victory❤️ also his finale performance was🤌
- RyujinPat - it was obvious Ryujin was introduced into the show for pat and they chose themselves cz pat is underage so this was just a kinda promotion for them.

A Well Written Drama That Got Ruined By Its' Hasty Illogical Sloppy Ending
Positive Points1. Hands down to the writer for the well-written characters of Chen Yanyun and Gu Jingzhao. It's been quite some time since I came across such well-written ML and FL. I would give a few extra thanks for the character of the FL, especially. The character of the FL is rational, and she has a damn care attitude that is something I liked about her character. She is not the type of sacrificial type of Female lead who always returns bad with good. She also does not give her family a free pass just because they are her blood. Nor does she let the opportunistic people take financial advantage of her just because they are family. She is smart and intelligent. This is something I really appreciate. Also, the thing I absolutely love about this FL is that she never wastes her efforts on someone who does not appreciate it. After her first crush rejected her, she never pursued him. Nor did she waste her time on him. Ye Xian never explicitly told her that he liked her, and it was because of his crush on her that he always helped her. FL never took it for granted and never exploited his feelings for her personal gain. She also tried to help in return, like a true friend. Her marriage view is actually beautiful and rational. I like the way FL's character was written. Her character was consistent. She knows horse riding and archery. The screenwriter actually let her flex her skills and did not reduce her to an accessory for the ML to act as the hero. The ML is also one of the well-written, dignified characters. ML is quite sharp, rational, calm, and diplomatic. He also treats the FL with respect and does not impose his wishes in the name of love. Respect is very important for love to persist for a long time in my opinion. The ML is someone who can indeed be respected. The FL has indeed chosen the right guy for marriage. ML is different from the other 2 love interests of the female lead not due to age but rather the way he handled FL's vow to never marry, showing his composure. He has enough sense to differentiate between state and personal matters. He highly respects the FL and honours her choice and wishes. He diplomatically, with his patience and tactics, changed the No from the FL into Yes, and that is without using any underhanded method.
2. The cinematography, music, direction, and action scenes were nice. The cast was really good in their respective roles.
Negative Points
1. Spent too much time on two other love interests of the FL (I consider Ye Xian as a friend and not a love interest). Why waste such nice chemistry between the leads for showing too much court politics and love rivalry? There was very little of the FL and the ML for my liking throughout the drama.
2. Ye Xian could have been a nice addition. There was no need to make him do impulsive, illogical things. I know he was important for the 2nd half, but still too much time was wasted on him doing impulsive things that I absolutely did not like at all. Ye Xian is impulsive, has anger management issues and is aggressive. Bro loves to turn to drinking every time he faces a challenge/ problem. It does not really matter how good a man is when he is calm and happy. His character is best understood in times of crisis or when he loses his temper. Ye Xian is not a good choice for marriage at all. He impulsively whipped the FL when he could not swallow a few lines of bitter truth. No matter how he helped the FL, he is not a good candidate for marriage, for sure. He also does not have any keen perception of the court politics.
3. What was the ending even, killing everyone and leaving the leads alive only? The writing in the last 3 episodes was absolutely weak. The start was great, but had such a mediocre ending.
Overall, this drama was a nice one-time watch.
Ps. Though a bit unrealistic, the cute little emperor is more sensible than all those treacherous, evil, arrogant, womaniser emperors shown in C dramas.

Two-way ending scene
A Journey to Love is truly an extraordinary drama where we can experience every emotion — love, betrayal, the death of loved ones, and everything in between. Now, let’s talk about the bittersweet ending. To some viewers, it is a happy ending because Chu Yue saw a boy named Ning Shisan, who said that he has a sister named Ren Lu. This could mean that both Ning Yuanzhou and Ren Ruyi are alive.
But from my point of view, everything Chu Yue saw was a hallucination. If you watched Episode 40 attentively, you would remember the scene where Ning Yuanzhou saw Qian Zhao, Yuan Lu, and Sun Lang enjoying themselves. Suddenly, Yu Shisan joined them, and everyone became happy. It was all Ning Yuanzhou’s hallucination.
In the ending scene, Chu Yue saw Ning Yuanzhou and Ren Ruyi together with Yu Shisan, Qian Zhao, Sun Lang, and Yuan Lu. This indicates that both the male lead and female lead joined them, and now all of them are happy together. Chu Yue’s hallucination can be interpreted in many ways. Some viewers may think that both the ML and FL are alive, while others may believe that they are dead.
Another thing — I guess you remember when Ren Ruyi went to the Beipan tent and dropped the thunder bombs there while saying that there was no point in staying alive without Ning Yuanzhou. Before this happened, if you remember clearly, Ning Yuanzhou had already been severely injured after being attacked by many people. However, the drama never clearly showed whether he was dead or alive; it only showed some memories from the past. This could mean that before going to assassinate the enemies, Ren Ruyi already knew Ning Yuanzhou was dead. That is why she chose to die together with those Beipan people.
As for why Chu Yue saw them like that, and why she saw that boy — everyone knew that Ren Ruyi wanted to have a child with Ning Yuanzhou. So, in her hallucination, she actually saw their child. She also saw them together because all of them wished to live a peaceful life together after safely returning to Wu State.
That’s it. Thank you for reading my review :)

Overall Good Watch
There are a lot of misunderstandings in this drama but the ML is as clean as clean gets. While I'm not entirely sure why the the FL was adopted by that clearly sadistic family, I guess maybe because it sets up for plot points? I am glad that the sister's fiance was able to rebuild his life without her and move on. He deserved better than her. I also liked that the ML and FL helped the sister at the end and that she clarified that she would have helped anyone. The FL was a decent human being, something the sister's never understood or could achieve. Overall it was a feel-good drama with major kudos for the acting by the hospital scene at the OR. Great job all around and great chemistry from the main leads! Was this review helpful to you?

Uhm... sure
Overall, I thought it's reallyyy cute and I didn't really know what to expect since I just casually chose something on my list. I like this show, like I said it's really cute but uhhh. I love the intro, it's really cute and the overall aesthetic is super cute aswell. Anyways, I'm really curious what I'm gonna think of season 2 because I'm not sure what to expect. It's giving Kdrama vibes with the silent moments and I wouldn't be surprised if they took some inspiration from it.I already read Minato Shouji Coin Laundry the manga before and I used to really like it. A lot of times when series get adapted from VERY popular manga's it's kinda upsetting because I might have to high of expectations. What I loved though is that the episodes are short. As someone who binge watches Bl it's perfect to watch in a night. The first episode really goes well with the weather of today in my country,
Next thing, the reason why I'm not sure what to think of it. I'm gonna be honest right here, but I do NOT like the whole age gap thing in this series. It's weird and I just don't like it. "But he turned 18". A 17 year old was hitting on a 27 yr old before he turned 18 hun. And then the 'wet' dream and the "What am I saying, he's just a minor" thing adds to the weirdness. And it was like reverse grooming? Like a 30ish year old man getting flirted on by a 17 yr old? What made it worse was Katsuki being saved by Minato when he was 7 years old. Victim gets groomed by teacher so the victim grooms to another person back.
You can obviously notice that Minato was groomed by his teacher. "But his teacher didn't like him" we don't know AND he was clearly flirting or creating a bond that is a bit weird with a student. I don't understand why sooo many Japanese drama's/manga's do this. It irritates me and it's definitely not the first time they add some grooming to the drama.

A drama that actually swallowed me whole
I knew what I was getting myself into, yet I was still shocked by how insane the ML is. I'm so biased because he's absurdly handsome but my god, the red flags in this drama were insane. It felt like he was falling into madness as his obsession consumed him and we were dragged along with him.Advertised idol x actor trope but it was more rookie actor x popular actor. The bet placed was thankfully not taken too far as Chiaki fell extremely hard and quick for Ama. It's not surprising since Ama is an adorable FL. She's naive, don't get me wrong, but does have a backbone when push comes to shove. I cheered when she set hard boundaries after Chiaki took it too far at times but unfortunately, his manipulate ass somehow always managed to win her over,
Overall, a wacky but widely entertaining watch. Fantastic OST, rapid plotline that did not drag. A consuming and toxic love story of two people who are surprisingly the perfect match. Don't save either of them, they are exactly where they want to be.

Be Careful What You Wish For
Who hasn't wished at one time or another that they could just disappear or start over somewhere where no one knew them? But what would you do if it actually happened? What if that fleeting moment of frustration became the basis for your every day life? This series reminds us that even in our times of struggle and uncertainty, there are so many people around us whose lives would be forever changed if we weren't in it. It's so easy to get wrapped up in anxiety, grief, and depression, and we forget that the good times are there too. That we have people we love and who love us back. This series is a wonderful reminder to keep pressing forward and not take our loved ones for granted, and to also remember that it's ok to ask for help sometimes. Was this review helpful to you?
