I really just don't understand the hype for this. I just could not get into this at all. I was so excited to watch it once I found out it had to do with DID (dissociative identity disorder) as well as after hearing all the rave reviews, but I couldn't be anymore let down. My biggest issue is with the portrayal of the illness (DID) I know this is a k-drama so I didn't expect textbook accuracy with a mental health consultant on site during filming or anything like that, but the portrayal of DID is just so silly and flat out stupid that it completely removes any empathy I felt for Do Hyun's illness. When he switches personalities, it's much more akin to a comic book villain transforming than it is someone changing personalities due to mental illness. I could stand for the corny eye color/tattoo change thing if that was my only issue, but add to that the seizure like tantrums he experiences when he switches on top of that and I just have checked out at this point. Despite my faults with the portrayal of the illness, there was some interesting plot lines here, but they were all so convoluted and muddled to the point that I hardly ever knew what was going on. I've never been one for bureaucratic/corporate espionage and conspiracy plot lines, but the ones here were just so exceptionally dull. It was way too much, all the different family dramas, the corporate theatrics, the mental illness, murder mysteries, all kind of thrown together into one incomprehensible mess. I really wish this had focused much more on Do Hyun staying inpatient while battling his illness and trying to recover his memory, while also dealing with the blossoming relationship between himself and his doctor (the female lead) I had a lot of issues with the tone as well. It's kind of all over the place, and I love a lot of drama sthat transcend genres. This just comes off more as desperate and unfocused rather than creative and eclectic. I also found this show to be quite ugly to look at as well. Just very dry and washed out looking... I don't know. I don't mean to rag on this drama too much as I can understand why some people would enjoy it but there's just too much going on for me.  There is a great show buried deep down somewhere in this mess. I just wish I cared enough to dig and find out.

One day when I was watching this my roommate walked in and asked "Are all Chinese dramas made so cheaply?" The answer is no! But this one sure was. It's full on bad lighting, cheesy sound affects, and over the top camera angles. If this kind of stuff doesn't bug you and your just looking for a light-hearted romance then this is for you! The shows strong point was the unique plot line- it's definitely not the drama you think it's going to be when you start it! The main actress carried the show and I don't think I could've finished it if it wasn't her acting in it.  It was a really nice show for me to start during exam season because I could put it on and watch an episode when I was stressed but didn't feel like I needed to stay up the whole night to finish it.

It's a memorable drama but it has 2 big flaws:

1 This story was totally refreshing and great, everything was perfect but by the final chapters writers decided to just ruin it and do the same overused love triangle clichés to conclude it.

2 Main male lead performance was really weak.

As most dramas I have seen, it just felt down by the end, however I find this one to be very outsanding whatsoever. All the cast performed great, The lead female did a fantastic job and all the cast was great too.  The most memorable cast I have watched, and the most memorable female lead. One of the funniest I have watched too.

This is the kind of drama that asks you questions like:'What are you made of? What is in your core? What are your principles? What is it that you can't live without? Wha- Nah, just kidding. That's just Yamaneko being his usual extra self.

Part puss in boots, part Sherlock and part Robin Hood- Kaitou Tantei comes with its own unique spurn of mystery, a cheeky slice of detective and hilarious laugh-out-loud slapstick comedy.
Let's take a moment of silence to appreciate the brilliance that is Kame Kazuya. Is there anything this man can't do? If being an excellent singer, dancer and beatboxer wasn't enough; twenty minutes into the first episode and he twerked his way into my favorite actors list. The way he's able to juggle different emotions is simply amazing and the fact that he's just so beautiful to look at only helps his case.

Kame's Yamaneko is undeniably one of Dramaland's most beloved characters. Rocking his retro sunglasses, an edgy cat mask and the infamous smirk, he fights crime with crime; one theft at a time. He's the only one who can be tone-deaf, wet his pants, guzzle noodles like they're water, be extremely over-the-top and cringey to the max but at the end, still retain the charisma and cool that defines him. He just has so much swag and style that all I can say is that he's the definition of a badass diva.

Yamaneko is that one rude asshole who comes bullshit free himself and doesn't tolerate anybody else's bs either. He does what he wants to do, when he wants to do it. He's the kind of person that would literally yank you by the hair, shove you infront of a mirror and scream your every insecurity, flaw and your deepest secret into your ear. He'll challenge you to face your worst self and at the end, push you head-on into whatever it was that you were running away from.
However, under all his arrogance and goofy persona hides a deeply compassionate, patriotic and thoughtful individual. Ten steps ahead of everyone and always thorough with his strategies; Yamaneko is an idiotic genius. He won my heart over and over again in every episode and made me feel genuine warmth and happiness

The rest of the cast-especially the versatile Narimiya Hiroki- holds their own against him. Katsamura, Mao, Rikako, Sekimoto- literally all of the characters were people that I felt deeply for. Kaitou Tantei is an acquired taste. It comes with its fair share of contradictions. It's in your face, yet sincere. It has an almost ridiculous plot, yet intelligent writing. It's characters are over-dramatic but not pretentious. It's peculiar, yet simple. A beautiful story of friendship, yet an account of jarring betrayal. Seemingly lame jokes and puns, yet excellent and thought-provoking dialogues. Hilariously non-serious, yet almost tragic beneath the layers. But ultimately, in its core, it's a show that doesn't aim to please anyone.

Middle fingers up, put them hands high. Wave it in their face, tell 'em boy bye.

^That's the motto it lives by. Devoid of the usual tropes and the same ol' bullshit, the Dorama comes with a sort of refreshing freedom that is now rarely seen. It's incredible just how much of the story they covered in as little as ten episodes (only 45 minutes worth).
They started in an almost coy manner and ended with a sly hint of tongue in cheek. While some complain and whine that the ending was rushed and not properly executed, it was perfect for me. It was exactly in line with the feel of the show; leaving you with a feeling of hope and uncertainty of the future and I absolutely loved it.

The dorky cat sound effects and the pink panther style background instrumental served to further increase the show's allure. The OST: Unlock by Gat-Tun (Kame's idol group) is so appropriate for the show and never failed to turn me up. Kame sounds so good in real life that I think that all the purposefully awful singing he did in the show must've done a number on his throat.

I believe I couldn't have picked a better show to begin my J-Dorama journey. I highly recommend this and to those who are having cold feet about watching it; I would like to quote my baby Yamaneko's words: "Don't think, just feeeeeel. And it will be Fanthastic." Cue the tongue swipe~Meow.

"Overall, the acting was a bit off at first but things get to be better after a while." - Most reviews do  have this sentiment and it is absolutely true. I did not finish watching it the first time I tried because I could not feel the chemistry between the main characters (though there is, its a bit off) but things do get better. Story lacks the direction on how the characters would develop especially the main couple. There may have been unnecessary side stories that does not make sense to the entire show.

However, the couple development is really good especially the Frame x Book couple and is one of the reason, I think, the pairing is famous. The pair's story development is great and one can definitely understand where the romantic feelings come from.

For the main couple, there seems to be a lot of confusion with push and pulls that would make you rethink where their feelings are really progressing too. The chaos makes it hard to see the actual direction of the main couples. The theme song is good, catchy and is appropriate (the kind of music that will give you the feels along with the show). Generally, it is still part of the BL Series one should watch out for.

Well, I really tried liking this drama but it didn't work out. I tried giving it time, saying that it would be okay, that the story will be better from episode 10, guess what, it didn't get better. After each episode, I started to think about if it is worth it, and finally, after 16 painful  episodes, I gave in. I just couldn't bear it anymore. The only thing I did like about this drama was Henry, and that's all.  Okay, I did like the acting, the actors did play really well.
About the parts I didn't like.....
Not only that the beginning was sad and really emotional, but in most of the episodes, at least 4 times, the two main characters cried. I understand, it is a drama, it is normal for them to cry a lot, but it is not normal to cry a million times in each and one episode. Seriously now, after watching an episode, I felt so sad and depressed, it made me feel weird and I didn't like that. I usually watch K-dramas to feel somehow better, not to get depressed.
The story itself was kind of weird, it started with abuse and with emotional scenes that made me not want to continue watching. But I didn't give up, and I kept watching even through I hated it, I didn't want to start a new episode, I was searching for something to do instead of watching it.
I personally don't recommend watching this drama, only if you want to get upset and depressed.

At the beginning I didn't want to watch this drama, just because I thought that it was going to be a full action-everything about the army kind of drama, but thanks to my best friend, I gave it a try, and I can tell you that I don't regret it, at all.
First of all, the story is interesting and somehow special, since I haven't watched a drama like this one before. The effects were amazing as well, it did feel like I was watching a movie in the cinema. The actors played pretty well and the emotion were getting to me through the screen. Something I didn't like was that the first episode started weird, I didn't really get the point of the beginning, but after watching episode 10 I guess, or something like that, I realized why did the series start with a darker scene. If you don't like emotional dramas and sad moments, I do not recommend watching it. It does have a lot of funny  moments and it is somehow a comedy, but some scenes are kind of dark and they can make you really emotional.
As a conclusion, I did enjoy this series and I will happily re-watch it in the future.

Not the movie to watch early in the morning -- my mistake.   An engaging story that is filled with emotions from the characters which become embedded in the viewer while watching.  The ups and downs feels are just amazingly crafted by the writer and the director does a good job editing to give a full romantic story.  I truly enjoyed this movie but choose the right time of day to watch this masterpiece.  Loved it loved it but loved the fullness feeling of what love can do in life.  Highly recommend.

Let me just start off by saying that I'm really picky with my dramas (more so than with my vegetables). But I'm also a sucker for historical dramas... and tragedies.

The general storyline was good, but I can see where they failed to bring this story to life. There were some parts that I felt were incredibly boring and irrelevant, but thankfully your girl pulled through. The costumes were stunning, which is to be expected in a historical drama; but the cinematography will blow you away, especially where there is action. If I had to point out one thing I disliked, it would have to be all of the unresolved misunderstandings found way too common in a drama. God, I hate those.

The main reason why I decided to watch this drama in the first place is because of the main leads. They've both really impressed me in their past roles, and definitely didn't disappoint in this one either. The antagonists also did a really good job of riling up my emotions. One thing I wanted to point out—and I know this isn't the actor/actresses fault but I felt like some of the supporting characters were poorly portrayed. Again, this isn't always their fault,  as a character is only as good as its script.

If you couldn't already tell by my ratings, original soundtracks are my biggest weakness. But I definitely have a preference when it comes to these. I'm kind of obsessed with soundtracks in historical dramas. I don't know what it is, but I just find them way better. I feel like they're filled with more raw emotion and I somewhat enjoy the feeling of getting my heart wrenched out of my chest (kidding, but not really).

Overall, I think I would recommend this drama BUT with fair warning, as it may not live up to everyone's expectations. So watch at your own discretion.  As for whether or not I would rewatch this, the only reason why I could bring myself to do so would be to relive the romance between the two main leads.

With that said,
Llama out.

This review may contain spoilers
There's so much to say about this drama but not enough words to describe the effects that I'm still feeling after watching it. This is hands-down one of the best dramas I've ever had the pleasure of pushing aside my studies for. I loved it so much, I found myself watching all of the BTS and the bloopers.

The plot was never boring and I had a blast being taken on this emotional rollercoaster. I'll be honest, it'll be hard to watch some of your ships sink, but don't give up! Because it's the ships that do sail that will make it worthwhile to stick out until the end. That doesn't count as a spoiler, right? Anyways, everything from the costumes to the cinematography was absolutely stunning... And you know the storyline is good when those 45 minutes per episode just fly by.

Yang Mi and Mark Chao did such an amazing job portraying their characters. They did so well, they deserve a standing ovation. Their chemistry on set was undeniable, and I sincerely hope there comes a day when they would be reunited by another drama. But this isn't to say that the other actors/actresses didn't do well. They all exceeded my expectations and everyone looked so beautiful.  I loved them all, including the antagonists.

The soundtrack for this drama killed me (x1000). It was as if they knew exactly when to play it; and when they did, all those feelings felt like arrows going straight through my cold, brittle heart. But props to them for making me feel some type of way.

Overall, I would definitely recommend this to anyone who's looking for a good heart squeeze. But be warned because ever since I finished it, I've been having serious withdrawal symptoms and I don't think this is going to go away anytime soon. The only way to solve this problem would be to rewatch it. But I have to keep from doing that because finals are around the corner and I don't want to dig myself a deeper hole here. But you guys are more than welcome to! (Kidding, but not really.)

With that said,
Llama out.

The story is not very good. Lots of ridiculous scenes that dosen't make sense and illogical. Nothing special about this drana. It is a typical poorly thought off storyline. Could have finish in 30 episodes. The comedy doesn't gel with me and this could be me not familiar with culture in the mainland. Overall this drama fails to impressed me. Quite dissapointed as I thought with Joe Chen involved, it would be of reasonable quality. It was a far cry from Queen of SOP and Fated to Love You.  Tong Da Wei acting was OK but could be better.

It was interesting movie, first I like because Chiu Prince is similiar with Ji Chang Wook . But meanwhile I like the character that Li Zheng and Shao Xi have. Li Zheng is calm, but quietly protect Shao Xi while Shao Xi didn't realized that. Shao Xi is to open to show her heart feeling to Li Zheng, but I think it's ok because the caracter Li Zheng is too quetly. For the other cast like they friends and parent are  very support, so this movie become sweet romantic comedy movie. This story was fun and attracting, makes me cannot wait to next episode. Sometimes I cannot guess what will happen next. But I think Li Zheng wasting time to say love to Shao Xi. And my expectation the end of the story till they get married (because based on info they have 16 episodes, but it's only 15 episodes). In the end just Shao Xi get sibling. Overall I like the story. Cannot wait chiu prince next movies.

Firstly, due to the abundance of dramas that are similar to this one, I had very low expectations, especially since each episode was 1 hour long. but I was gobsmacked when I watched the first episode and then I just couldn't stop. It was romantics, funny and dark.

The only problem was the story-line. i understand that they wanted to make the show dark, but with the added humor and romance it was just too much. It just didn't blend well and it kind of made me less interested in the show.

The music was great I loved the music they played during episode 4, and the romantic music they played in episode 16. This is probably one of the little dramas that I've seen which have goo music. The cast was great! I totally ship Park Bo  Young and Park Hyung Shik. The acting was amazing and the emotional scenes made me teary.

I would definitely re-watch this drama, and would recommend it to anyone who is thinking of watching it.

Overall I would give this a 9/10 mainly because I have difficulty finding good dramas mainly because of my preferences when it comes to story-lines.

Hope this helped :)

This show had so may feels happy sad scared emotional. Either way it was a great  show. The whole cast did great from beginning to end. Gong yoo and lee dong wook oppa tog in one show was daebak. I love them individually. New girl kim go eun captured me from her drama cheese in the trap. She has a very natural innocent believable acting one cant say that shes actually in character. Yoo in na on the other hand is a beauty and her character was very important for the show. Yook sungjae who played duk hwa did a tremendous job with his innocence and weirdness which added laughter to the show. Goblin and grim reaper were perfect and their bromance was ship worthy.  Must see. I would probably watch again. I'm having goblin withdrawals.  I think I'll visit canada to the filming locations. Here is a summary.  ***Overseas Filming] Quebec, Canada. Petit-Champlain District. Chateau Frontenac Hotel.
