finally a drama that doesn’t normalize men’s toxic behaviors

Usually jdramas tend to downplay the toxic behaviors of the male characters and their questionable actions are perceived as a way to show that, in reality, they really care about the FL and… I am so glad that this drama didn’t follow this pattern !! It’s quite common to see the FL forgiving every disrespectful thing the ML does but I was pleasantly surprised to find out that this drama doesn’t romanticize men.
I saw some people being upset at Yuki leaving Sota at the end but it was the right choice to make. Sota spent together with her barely 2 days yet he said he loved her and wanted her to leave her job. He knows nothing about her real personality and him saying he would love her regardless is dumb, he doesn’t really know her so how can he sincerely like her?
Also people don’t realize how bad is not being economically independent. If she accepted his offer she would have become dependent of him… and the entire point of her character is to be free and find her own path. Even Rina, the most submissive character, found her own dream in the end.
It was interesting to see how some female characters were at first introduced as “unlikeable” like Aya and Yua but as the episodes go by we find out their story and their valid perspectives. You can still dislike them but you can also understand their points. Personally Moe’s journey was the hardest to watch. It was pretty sad to see her character’s growth decline and sells her body for a man that clearly thought about her as a client.
The men in here are trash which is realistic. Both Sota and Yudai knew about the FLs jobs and realities yet they wanted to decide for them.
At first Yudai seemed cool about Rina’s situation and knew she never was a sugar baby just for money yet he excepted her to stop.
Sota is the typical loser that idolizes a woman and is obsessive over her but has no idea how she really feels. Also in the end we see Sota with another girl, his new girlfriend and… what if she was another rental girl. His obsession for Yuki might have just been related to her job.
Kaede might be a grey character for some people because you aren’t sure if he cared about Moe (as a client) or if he was just playing her since the start. I personally think he indeed manipulated and exploited her because he knew she didn’t have enough money yet he persuaded her to have a debt. Yua’s boyfriend is the worst man in the drama since he exploited and assaulted her.
My favorite relationship in the show is the friendship between Yuki and Aya, an unexpected pair that really worked out in the end for me. It was definitely sweet to see Aya understanding Yuki and making her feel at ease above all because this is a bit unexpected since Aya is, most of the time, portrayed as a blunt and cold (queen). Another friendship I liked was between Moe and the baristas. It was so sweet seeing them cheer and care for her.
All the stories were interesting and the female characters were amazing. I might watch the second season too and see what new topics and characters they introduced.

Slow but engaging

A thrilling and mysterious spy series, packed with solid action scenes and excellent acting. Honestly, any drama with Namgoong Min is going to be at least a 7/10. The man is one of the best actors in the Korean entertainment business and his performance in this drama is no different. Female Lead Ji-Eun also delivers a believable and realistic character.

The series starts strong, lots of unknowns and the writer does a great job of unpacking of it through good dialogue, plot and character development. It gets a bit slow in the middle, but picks up again towards the end. The worst part of any Kdrama is when you can tell the writers get lazy and leave things to coincidence for the resolution to occur. This is certainly not the case for 'The Veil'.

Great action

This is a great series so far as it starts off with a bang and keeps going with lots of action. It's a good storyline. I've enjoyed it's fast pace. I m not crazy about the FL as she s a bit of a nut and is a bit trying but there are so many other great characters I manage to keep interest. I think she s a good actor but not crazy about her role. Otherwise it's all very good and well done. I like that it doesn't get too heavy on any one character or direction. It keeps me wanting to get to the next episode. The love interests get a bit of too much bickering which isn't cool or sophisticated but it's not a lot. I look forward to seeing more and how it will end. The filming is good, locations, etc.

I am speechless (in a good way)

My head is spinning ( just finished the last episode )

first case ( 1-4 ish):
I was pumped, and full of adrenaline, it was crazy and the story was interesting.

I calmed and acted it got solved. And I kinda of didn't have the urge to watch the next episode right away.
The same thing happened with the other cases until around episodes 7-8 ( I think) where the cases got more personal/related to our main characters and I got emotionally attached to them so I was more invested in the drama. It's kind crazy how much I ended up loving the characters when I am not really that attached to the characters of thriller/mystery dramas.

The story was interesting and done well.
Though it made my head spin a few times, it wasn't that confusing.

The last episode was something, the drama suggested so many things, like how the transmissions could have gone to someone else and it was just crazy and I am really happy that he was alive.

I really love how all three main characters had some sort of relationship.
Even though this isn't a romance, the relationship and chemistry between detectives Lee Jaehan and Cha So Hyun was so cute and then Cha So Hyun and Park Hae-young had less of an implied romantic relationship but they had a hot sizzling chemistry and weirdly, I was shipping for both relationships.
( I don't usually ship a person with a lot of people)

I feel like they won't make a second season, but I wonder how they will do the story if they decide to, like there are so many things to touch on but I wonder what they will do the characters with)

I am not unhappy about the open-ended even though I was wishing for a reunion of all three of them but yeah, this is a good drama and it really made me cry especially when our main characters were on the verge of death.

Eehhhhh

Look, it's a cute idea. But I think if you want to watch a good crime/fairytale blend, you're better off watching Hoodwinked (2005).

Once Upon a Crime is a whodunnit lazily mashed together with a Disney-esque Cinderella story (I'm referring the animated one, not the kickass Whitney Houston one). The characters have no depth, nor is the world-building overly creative. I don't mind a bit of oddball humour but it ended up being annoying.

It's a shame. I think if the creators had thought outside the box a bit, this could've been decent. I got bored and dropped it around 30min in.

All's well that ends well

It was just created to give everyone a happy ending so it was mostly happy ending but I think the main villain was dragged way too long at one point I was like will be die or is he immortal and then he just abruptly dies like to just end the story which was unsatisfying for most part. Like he who decided to not kill human just came up killed everyone in an instant and for how strong the fire bird was supposed to be I think the fight was underwelming.

It could have gone on for another episode but they should've made an end to be remembered for ages as it is such a nice drama.
Must say part one was better as nothing was rushed in it. and then again the main characters only had a little scene in the end, I definitely wishes to see more of those two together.

Final review
Must watch.
Rushed ending
Unsatisfactory end
Dragged Villain
Could be better but all's well that ends well I guess

Awesome need a Season 2

24 episodes were so few..the ending though I'm like is there a season 2, so many questions????. It ended with another start, I am hoping there is season 2 to tie off the loose ends. Like what happens to FL and ML, his brother's romance, who is the person behind the screen and why is the twin terrified? Did the FL die, is the one behind the screen Wufeng, she has the other half of the martial arts skill what will happen to the ML, and will they become a power couple? I honestly dislike open-ended endings as much as separated by death endings. We need a season 2 with a happy ending at least give us that and tie the loose ends they are wayyyyy tooo loose.

Definitely recommend its a yes i give it 9/10 because of the ending, it's beautiful people in entanglements and strong females.

My strange couple

Our male and female lead have known each other from high school. He was accused of guilty in an incident, but we don’t know the truth yet. Later in life, they reconnected when he decided to go back to school where she's works as a part-time teacher...

First thing I have to say: this premise is jarring. I have never seen adults mixed in with high schoolers in one class, but it doesn’t really matter. What I’m so intrigued by first place is the over-the-top extra-ness of the show. Every aspect of this show is operating at >100% level. The music is just so dramatic, as well as the acting and the filmmaking. Normally I dislike this tone, but here they all works together, so kudos to that. Yoo Seung Ho’s acting pulls it off. You can tell that he’s just having so much fun with his role, and his enjoyment seeps off of the screen.

Now, for the storytelling, I think they nailed the present and past storylines switching really well. Like you might have questions during the present time, and then you’ll see it unfold in the past, and then it ping-pongs back and forth. The writers know how to pique your interest. The questions keep you engaged because you'll have one answered, and then you're given another one.

My con comes a bit later when something happen to the couple, and the female lead response to it really rubbed me the wrong way. Since then I feel a trust issue that relationship wasn't genuine and so, it felt almost like a chore to finish the show. The ending was satisfying; it tied all the loose ends.

SML and SFL

ep.21, 10:01-18:28, personally, the most romantic moments of Ouyang Wenshan and Jiang Huizhen, among all their scenes is the stargazing. he opened up about himself as Keane who was a prince before he was captured to be a chief guard. she also tells him about her feelings at the moment. later that we know, when Ouyang Wenshan returns to Babylon, a year later is 1791BC, he would make a weird mask dedicated to Jiang Huizhen, according to the constellation they last saw together, as their love momento. my wishful thinking, I was hoping he would stay as Ouyang Wenshan, and the same time, he bears responsibility to his own kin, he needs to ensure their safety and regain freedom. love is beautiful.

IG reels made me watched the movie BUT it's NOT worthy!

After Netflix released "One Piece" in 2023 Mackenyu aka Roronoa Zoro's popularity increased and my IG feed filled with his previous movie clips... As expected I searched for that movie everywhere and couldn't find it after a while found it & let me tell you so, you can decide whether to watch it or not.

If you expected Fast & Furious kinda of action or any romance you're going to be highly disappointed! Actually, there is not a strong story it's a blend... Yes, there is only one actor in the movie & you know who.... other actors didn't have much impact on the story... it is only about Hiyama Naozumi aka Mackenyu.

Here's the spoiler**

the story is about two brothers' bond, their childhood a lost friend & unsaid things that haven't been addressed until he fulfills his Dream which is to become the best in the World Rally Championship. FYI it's a sports-based movie where sport isn't the highlight just the brothers' quarrel.

IMO, it's a good thing that they didn't add any more love angle in the movie with the promoter cuz that would be unnecessary.

Overall it's a one-time watch movie but don't get your hopes high. I don't know why it gets a 7.5 rating in MDL?

BUT if you expecting the thrill of racing, romance, or passion... you might be wasting your time. I am given 5.5 only and ONLY for Mackenyu.

Guess I'll be watching his other movies which have below-average ratings on IMDB but who cares about rating when you like the actors!

The best Korean Drama ever and one of the best live-actions ever produced, period.

Sure, my headline may not be to everyone's taste, but I have no doubts this is one of the best live-action shows ever made.

We all know the Japanese are the masters of live-action, with awesome movies and dramas such as Rurouni Kenshin, I want to eat your pancreas, Death Note, Tokyo Revengers, to name a few. The West have a few too, with the Avengers trilogy being at the forefront as part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Just looking at the shows named above means that it will take a lot to make a new live-action that is on par with those mentioned above, and South Korea isn't really known for their live-action shows.

That has all changed with Moving. This is the groundbreaking one, the series that finally breaks the ceiling for Korean Cinema, the one allows Korean to proudly proclaim "we can produce live-action films and dramas too, and a damn good one as well".

Based on the story by Kang Full, a popular Korean manhwa artists, this drama basically tells the story of a group of superpowered human and their children.

The way their story is told is non-conventional and this actually adds a lot to it's charm.

With multiple Baeksang Arts Award (the highest and most prestigious film, drama and theater honours in South Korea) winning actors and actresses such as Han hyo-joo, Jo In-sung, Ryu Seung-ryong, Ryoo Seung-bum, Cha Tae-hyun, Kim Sung-kyun, Moon Seung-keun, Kim Shin-rok and Yang Dong-geun, you can be assured that acting quality will not even be an issue to be discussed. (I have to confess, this is probably the first and the only time you will ever see 9 Baeksang award winners in a single show, except for award ceremonies of course. If this isn't a reason in itself to watch this show, I don't know what is).

You will be able to witness spectacular performances, most notably from Ryu Seung-ryong and Han Hyo-joo. I dare say, even at this stage, these 2 actors will be the frontrunners for awards at the next Baeksang Arts Award.

The most unique part of this series is that this isn't your typical superhero show. There's no "let's all go save the world" overused plots. In facts, it's almost as if the superhuman beings in this show never wanted to be heroes in the first place. They just want to live as normal human beings with their family members. Whether they are able to do so and for how long is the crux of the story.

To tell a superhero story is easy. We have an abundance of films and dramas on them already (marvel cinematic universe, DC cinematic universe etc etc). To tell a superhero story that is centered so much on family, parent-child and schoolmates relationships is on the other hand, not that easy. A wrong touch and it may end up as a bore. Moving however managed to do it with applause.

This is a show not to be missed. It is a masterpiece for the ages.

PS : Keep you eyes wide open. There are quite a few easter eggs here and there.

Simply one of the best

I truly appreciate survival type programmes featuring all the older idols, actors, singers, dancers etc.. Very dynamic, very funny mainly because of Jordan, Gao Hanyu with Pax Congo, all the language barrier shenanigans and more. You'll definitely cry with these grown men at times (Love Letters to Filmmakers is a strong cocktail). The last episodes featuring some contestants wives are pure gold (relationship goals sad lol). I highly recommend to watch. Just the last episode which is a whopping four hours is a little bit tiring with all the talking and stuff. Max Dance Company for the win.

GIVE THESE TWO A PROPER SHOW

Once again I'm back and watching this show for these two after Maid's Revenge and nothing else and once again they carried this show with the help of a better, not amazing just better, plot.

I'm not even going to sugarcoat this these two are AMAZING actors who deserves a throught out plot, amazing set design and everything that is needed for their amazing talent to shine throught.

I'm hoping to see them in more things together because chemistry like the two of them had needs to be put on multiple shows.

THAT SENIOR CITIZEN IS MINE

As Mrs. Beyonce would say 10, 10, 10's across the board and I do see that some people hated the second half of the show and even dropped it after episode 25 while the second half is my favorite I appreciate the little girl boss moment the princess gave us towards the end.

The romance was TOP TIER and I love a good age gap relationships so maybe that added on to it for me but I love the ML and FML they carried their show and not a single character was wasted in this show everyone served a purpose and I love that very much.

The OSTs I never skipped it was just that good, the acting was so well done and I was invested in each character's story line they are my babies and I love them.

WATCH THIS SHOW PEOPLE I BEG its really good stick it out till the end it will all be worth it.

Nice series, to be watch as pure entertainment.

Plot: Two convoys of brides leave the city on the same day towards 2 different destinies, but following an incident, the brides are reversed and sent to the husband of the other. Then 2 improbable couples are formed : ML noble, supposedly sick + FL lively, commoner, gifted in martial arts / ML2 general in military campaign + FL2 noble, smart and cultured.
Each couple will have to face difficulties, solve mysteries & find solutions, with the help of a mysterious master and his wife.

PROS:
+ Excellent actors, including the relatively well-developed 2ary characters.
+ rapid production (sometimes even hasty in certain scenes, (notably the beginnings of romance).
+ The tone of the series is really light, comedic , with light OSTs.
+ Intelligent story with suspense and clues at the right time.
+ All the classic tricks and twists (relative evil, desire for marriage of a spoiled princess, villains of all kinds, etc.) but they are handled skillfully.
+ Short series (24 episodes of 40 min.)

CONS:
- some situations are resolved too easily
- the villains have no depth
- story a little simplistic at times.

=> Pure comedy, not to be taken seriously but enjoyable.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

CONS:
- certaines situations sont résolues trop facilement
- les villains n'ont aucune profondeur
- story un peu simpliste par moments.

=> Sympa, à voir comme un pur divertissement.
