So I ended up doing three no-no's which made me nervous about watching sequels to several dramas that I watched previously.

First: DP 1 & 2. I didn't watch the first season over because I didn't think I needed to but there were scenes that they recapped that I completely forgot about. If I had watched the first season over then I would've better understood what the recap was about.

Taxi Driver 1 & 2. I got this one right because season 2 picked up where season 1 left off.

Uncanny Counter 1 & 2. This one was a big mistake. If I had known season 2 was going to go in a different direction I wouldn't have watched season 1 over.

This one...I knew I should've watched the first season over but didn't!!

I remember from my first review how I stated that this drama was like the US Chicago franchise all-in-one! The second season is a continuation with newer characters.
They capitalized on the autopsy scenes a lot more and I gotta say I was impressed with the way they did those silicone bodies. I don't know how the actors who had death scenes felt about watching a recap of their bodies being cut open on a autopsy table (don't know the correct term for that) but I gotta tell ya, Kim Rae Won who played as Jin Ho Gae looked uncomfortable and who wouldn't blame him.

The main plot that the second season dealt with was arson and bombs but there were other small plots throughout in order not to be monotonous which worked for me.

I loved the cast choices. Sometimes a casting director can get it right. I loved the Bull dozer and Jin Ho dog chemistry but I also loved the bomb tech guy and the Jin Ho dog's chemistry as well. But my favorite character was Woo Sam Soon the female character with the two daughters. She was my favorite because she was tough, smart, and hilarious. I love female Korean actresses like this. Not Song Seol...She got clocked in the head so many times I was hoping she would've been written off but they had to add that sappy romance that I seriously hate which is why my overall score is low. It's also low because the way the last episode happened. The bad guy revealing himself out of the blue when the last few episodes he tried to hide his identity left me with a 'WTF' moment! Then he had to kidnap a girl and the male hero comes to save her and they fall in love....eye roll with a barf bag please!!! Can they not put that kind of romance in a drama??? It's so cliche and stale!!!

I would like for there to be a third season but after seeing Uncanny Counter 2 I've learned my lesson and will be satisfied with the 2 seasons we were given.

Best Chinese Drama!!!

This is my first time completing a Chinese drama and I’m so glad I decided to watch this. Zhao Lusi and Chen Zhe Yuan’s popularity can be explained through this drama because they performed their roles excellently. Seriously they have the best chemistry out of all romantic dramas I’ve watched. They portrayed a couple in love and expressed romance so naturally. I especially love every moment between ML and FL when they start dating because we get to see how much they deeply love and care for each other, absolutely precious bond they have. It was a beautiful series that teach many valuables lessons about familial, romantic, and platonic love. I cried tears of joy and sorrow and sympathized with the characters from beginning to end. The rewatch factor value is a 10/10! I feel like I can’t say enough about how much I enjoyed watching this series. No exception I would definitely recommend Hidden Love to anyone who likes romance.

Good Until the End

It was really good. However, I didn't take into consideration for the title. BIGGEST mistake I made. I don't really like "sad" or "realistic" endings just because I watch dramas to escape reality, but that's just me. The ending was more confusing than anything. I watched it a year ago, so it's somewhat hard to remember the whole thing but I do sometimes come back to watch different episodes. (the first few) The whole show was overall okay/fine. However, I probably won't watch till the end. But that's just me. ??

Couldn't Connect

I was extremely excited for this season after enjoying the first season but somewhere in the middle I lost interest in the plot.

The story seemed to be all over the place. They killed off a character which I didn't quite understand the rationale behind. The show was still all right till that point albeit a bit slow for my liking. Story in between is forgettable. Then one by one new characters came out of the blue. One to serve as replacement to complete the trio but it just wasn't the same. I must have fallen asleep at some point because I don't understand why a certain character came into the picture. Convenient placement?

I liked that they added the autopsy scenes but it wasn't as impressive compared to the firefighting of the earlier season. They didn't really highlight a lot of medical and technical advancements.

The shows certainly goes for the shock value towards the end with the final criminal. Some incorrect medical statements were also made. I'm not sure how the system works in South Korea but since they are working with bombs, shouldn't a different department have jurisdiction? In that case, it would have been earlier to find the seller using legal means. I might also be mistaken but it takes less work to access the dark net which is why so many criminals can frequent it in the first place and nothing can be done about it.

Part of my interest dwindled when I had figured out the mystery of the final story so I couldn't enjoy it as much. It wrapped up quick which was good. I rolled my eyes at the US officials being certain of the result of a trial that hasn't even taken place. It's not like perpetrators ever get away through a mistrial or lack of evidence, right?

I wish I could score this higher but at the same time don't want to rate it too low since the actors did portray their characters well. They did try with the story. It just didn't strike a chord with me the way I wished it had and I don't have the patience to rewatch for now.

Wonderfully messy

I like many others have been counting the days for this show to air. As usual GMMTV has another iconic show on their hands.
The acting: I already knew the acting was gonna be good because of the beautiful pairings we had for the casting but I was still so pleasantly surprised at how much more everyone had gotten even better. Khaotung and First blow me out of the water every single project they do but this one right here is the one! Just breathtaking. THE CHEMISTRY.
Force and Book are another pair that have stolen my heart. Book has really shown how versatile he can be going from a boss and a babe to only friends. When I heard Mark and Neo we’re gonna be paired up I was so excited. People were upset that Louis wasn’t going to be with Neo but I just knew Mark was gonna be such a good pair with Neo and give us what we needed. And I was not wrong. Like I was nowhere near wrong. Like at all *insert the blushing emoji.”
Finally GMMTV has given Mark his time to shine instead of giving him the side character treatment.
The story: the story is messy as hell and so scrumptious. This show does a beautiful job at discussing difficult topics and showing the process of not so pretty consequences. I really just want to highlight GMMTV for not giving all of the couples “happy” endings just because the pairs have wonderful chemistry. One of my favorite things to come out of this show is you should love yourself and not lower your standards for no one. Absolutely gonna miss this series forever hoping for a season two.

História impressionante e show de atuação

Excelente!!

A must watch

I loved this drama. the story was well put together. I think the ending left some a little confused tho so I just want to clarify. It's a infinite time loop. Ji Hoon dies, causing trauma to little Jae Woo, which sets into motion all the events that inevitably lead to Ji Hoons death. If Jae Woo had not returned to save Ji Hoon, Ji Hoon wouldn't have died because the only reason Ji Hoon knew to go out to save little Jae Woo was because of the actions of older Jae Woo while he was there. Confused yet? lol So at the end in Ji Hoons letter he says "return to me in 15 years, then another 15 years", what he's saying is he'd sacrifice his life forever so he can have the chance to love Jae Woo. A beautiful story.

much more fun than i thought it would be!

considering its overall raring of 7.5 i didn't expect that much from this drama but i actually really enjoyed it! my overall score is 8.5/10 however as i did notice some continuity errors which i felt took away from how into the drama i got, i will mention these below (they are spoilers so please be aware!)

this drama was really enjoyable as it had such a range of great actors featuring chimon and drake (my loves), tay, namtan, joss and jane to name a few, all who put on a brilliant performance to bring this drama to life.

it was full of twists, some expected and some not, but never failed to keep me entertained as the end of each episode left me wanting more, i needed to know what happened next.

- spoilers below -

namtan as giwi was insane to me as all her previous dramas i've seen she always played nice characters, to see her as such a villian was wild, i'm glad she got her comeuppance as giwi truly was awful, its a shame we didn't get to see how she suffered from her actions (sorry not sorry).

drake as mikey in that last episode, last couple of minutes really was also very impressive to see as i didn't expect to see him so unhinged either, mans got range!

as much as i love chimon, and i do very much, dan had me screaming at my laptop the entire time 'don't be so dumb! she's playing you!' i have never been more enraged in my entire life.. chimon did such a great job of playing dan and i'm glad he was able to do what he did in the end, he deserved so much better :')

the continuity errors i mentioned above that kinda ruined the effects for me was that when dan went and beat up mikey there was blood on the floor of the apartment which tin and fight saw when they went to look for mikey, however wouldn't pin have seen this when she went back home and mikey was not there? because the inspectors went to the house after both pin and mikey went missing so why was pin not kicking up a fuss about mikey when there would have been blood on the floor from fighting dan earlier? it just kinda didn't sit right with me.. another moment was when tim and tin were fighting outside tin's house, after they had the fight there was a scuff to tim's cheek, and then another camera angle and it was gone, and then back to the original angle and it was there again.. its not a massive issue but again it pulls you back out of the drama once you've been sucked into it because you realise that it doesn't flow as it should..

however, that is my only gripe with this series, other than that (and how annoying mim is, i hated her and felt bad for tin) it was great! definitely give it a shot if you like mysteries and murder sort of stuff

Honestly this Is Boring

The drama received great reviews, so I decided to give it a chance, only to discover that it was quite boring, and getting through it was tedious. There were just too many uninteresting political storylines that really didn't pay off. While I've enjoyed political dramas and consider myself a fan of the genre, this particular drama simply fell flat for me. I believe the best rating I can give it is a 6.5/10, although I feel that a lower rating might be more appropriate.

The ending just felt out of place like the antagonist gave up, and we never really saw what clearly took him down. The chemistry between the main characters (ML and FL) was okay at best, and the romantic scenes didn't stand out. Furthermore, oftentimes, the story progressed leaving multiple loose ends with no tie-ins. For example, there was a side story where FL friend who owns the comic book shop meets the girl she injured, but it added no value whatsoever to the main plot.

I'm writing this review because the other positive reviews didn't make any sense to me, and I wanted to provide a more balanced perspective on my experience with the drama.

A pretty decent weekend watch

Was this show anything remarkable or ground breaking? Not really. Did I enjoy watching it? Absolutely.

The contract marriage plot with the rich guy poor girl isn't really anything new. The shows plot is incredibly convoluted, and the family dynamics are nearly impossible to follow. Its pretty typical in a lot of ways for this kind of show, but I didnt mind it.

I personally feel the show knew what it was, a pretty surface level rom com, and never tried to be anything more than that.

For me the absolute highlight of the show was definatly the main couple. I thought both of their actors were very well cast and did a wonderful job. Though it took a couple of epiosdes to get there, the chemistry between the ML and FL was definatly there, and I ate it up.

While that may have been a highlight of the show, it also was one of the downfalls, because even though they were absolutely phenomenal together, there were pretty large chunks of screen time where we didnt get any of them together at all.

The comedy was pretty decent, the plot was entertaining enough, and the acting was pretty good. If your looking for a masterpiece or a thought provoking deep show, you won't find it here. But if you're looking for a few hours of light entertainment on a weekend, i would definatly recommend it.

What Could Have Been, but wasn't

I want you to imagine a situation where Writer A gets his concept for a series green-lighted by KBS. Except he learns the network wants to stretch his 16-episode concept to a 50 episode weekender. UGH! He can’t handle that! So he reaches out to his college buddy, Writer B. “Bro, I can’t handle 50 eps! How about I do the first half and you take over the 2nd? I’ll pay you as long as we keep my name on the credits?” “Sure, dude, can do! I can use the cash! Just let me know when I should start, bud.”.

And we’re off and running….
Writer A’s first part of the series is fun, clever, and sweet. And so fast-paced that it was praised by all! We watch our leads progress quickly from enemies to friends to almost-lovers. Our leading man is doing great in his comeback role. Even those bitchy fans on MDL are cheering them on! We’ve got co-parenting while bringing in potential love interests, one couple trying to get back to their glory days of youth, and a growing love plot between 2 unlikely characters! The 2FL's plots to break them up all fail hilariously! And a Shaman giving us crazy scenes of the future!

Except the problem is Writer B isn’t paying that much attention to the first half (Writer A’s work) and has his OWN ideas for the 2nd half. So he begins writing his scripts to fit the show's loose outline he’s been given. He follows his own agenda, anyways, plus, he notices some things in the show so far, that need to be addressed:
• KJH actor is a really good-looking guy with high approval rate among women. Need to emphasize him!
• The lead couple has poor chemistry. Need to reduce situations that exacerbate this.
• The lead actress seems increasingly distracted and cold. Need to minimize her lines.
• There are too many secondary couples. Need to minimize some of these characters.

So writer A taps out…either voluntarily or under pressure from KBS seeking a re-vamp; take your pick of conspiracy theories. And here comes Writer B. He looks at the arcs for the characters he's left with and says, “NAH! This doesn’t fit my vision, so I’ll just write out some of these characters, or simply pretend meaningful events in the first half didn’t happen.” This is HIS show now and he’s going to appeal to the fans by making the 2ML a prime character and bringing some DRAMA to this series, because ratings will spike for sure!!! And he’s got about 20 episodes left to go, so he can take his time, and stop all this fast-paced stuff.

And this, my friends is what we are left with. Two completely different shows featuring the same(ish) characters which are grafted onto each other. The first half is GOLD: A bright new series that promised to make us forget the previous 2 weekenders that ended up failing. And it’s a comeback vehicle for both ML & FL. For 30-ish episodes we bask in the fun we’re having here. The second half unfortunately is MANURE. Slow-paced, filled with a conveyor-belt of angst for the leads, who grow increasingly awkward and characters who suddenly disappear. And the new series revolves around the 2ML – he is the catalyst that moves the script.

It’s almost as if the 2nd half was a spinoff of the first half, which would have been OK, if they had actually made it a separate show that we’d have the option to ignore. Also, if the first half had been given a logical conclusion. But no, we got this hodgepodge.

In prior k-dramas, I’ve loved to go back and watch old episodes and relive some past meaningful scenes. We’ve all done it….it’s FUN. But I can’t do that here. Because every time I try to watch something in Episodes 1-30 I get sad and think ‘what could have been”.

That’s the theme of this show: “What could have been”. This could have been a great series that lived up to its hype of resurrecting the weekend family drama. That could have made the most of its strong cast. That could have held us through 50 episodes, from the beginning of Spring thru the end of Summer. That could have kept us laughing and cheering on our leads as they try to keep up their farce of a fake marriage and the pitfalls of continuously lying to their parents.

So, for the new viewers asking if this show is worth watching, be forewarned. You can approach it as a limited edition series and watch from 1-32. But you’ll have to accept the fact that the show is essentially unfinished. 33-49 is basically No Mans Land: DO NOT WATCH. If you wish, you can watch Ep 50 for the finale. But be warned that the FL does not act as you expected her to from the first 20 episodes or so. And that some characters are missing.

But really, there are better options for you. If you’re looking for a romantic series, this ain’t it. And it loses it on the comedy front at Ep 33. Sure, there are some funny moments, but they are awkwardly placed amongst the angst prevalent in the balance of each episode. There really isn’t a niche the entire series fits into, because it’s 2 series back to back.

Finally, there is a reason there are over 17,000 comments here. YLAG, one of the most polarizing weekenders that REALLY pissed off its audience generated 8,800 comments. Think about that for TRHC: Seventeen THOUSAND! Since a high comment counts equals an aggrieved audience, this series 17K can give you an idea of what’s going on with the fans here.

When you clicked on this page, you saw the comment count. It stands as a silent warning: BEWARE TO ALL WHO WATCH THIS.

Beyond Funny

This is unexpectedly hilarious. Suspend your disbelief and prepare to watch a BL in which no one and nothing can be taken seriously and it is universally gay, especially the mansion, furnishings and vegetables.(ha!) I don’t know how the actors could carry out their roles without cracking up. I’ll bet the outtakes are even better than the series. The inept dubbing is part of its charm and allows for some creative voice work. In my imagination the soundtrack was accidentally deleted and they had to go back in after the fact to create one. When they saw how silly it all was they decided to go full tilt: kooky music, animal noises, sound effects, it’s all here!

Exciting turns to boring but beautiful

Well this was an interesting experience. This short drama was beautifully crafted, acted and produced. It was a pleasurable watch.

The story revolves around two antagonists: Nie Zhe the son of the most powerful man in the county and Xiaodie, a maid. When her mistress dies after being assaulted, Xiaodie decides to avenge her death. She takes her place and introduces herself into Nie Zhe's house. Immediately the sparks fly and they clash until they do not anymore. That is the moment that Die's mistress chooses to reappear after being brainwashed by the neighbouring county's spy.

The drama has an amazing first third: enemies to lovers trope is my favourite. Watching the main couple spar, bicker and fall in love, chemistry lighting up the scene like fireworks, was perfect. Smart female lead and tsundere male lead were just a joy to watch. And there were some hot scenes, let me tell you! Barechested Nie Zhe is worth the watch. I am shallow, sue me! LOL

Until they became a boring couple in love. Love in dramas really means death to brain cells. So they are in love and keep wanting to die for each other when facing the bad guys! But, fortunately, heavens protect people in love from their own stupidity, it seems here!

The rest of the drama is quite boring frankly! Being held hostage, poisoned, threatened, held at gunpoint, faked death etc. etc. you think of it, they did it! Spies, crazy doctors and revenge of revenge of revenge or whatever was boring and annoying.

The actors did a wonderful job, they were perfect for these roles. The cinematography was stunning and the sequences filming details (flying pen, sloshing drink, breaking glass, falling petals...) were a feast for eyes! And songs were amazing: they gave the drama this century ago feeling,

It could have been a perfect drama had not the second part got lost in the ridiculous spy story. Bi=ut it is still worth the watch: if only for the main leads. They were extraordinary!

Horrible

It could have been a decent show, if it wasn't for the horrible dubbing. What is the point with it? is it the same person putting voice over on every character, and also not being able to figure out if they are thinking or speaking. and just the overly over done dubbing is just a big fat no thanks from me.

but if the dubbing wasn't there then it could have been a decent show to maybe a 5 star overall rating. and why only 5 star, well the acting is a little off too, in my point. you can say its a bit too much at times. and it maybe it was supposed to be like that but with the bad dubbing it was just a turn off.
