its really good but needs a lot of brainpower to understand lol
my very honest review of blossom (as someone who started because of the super high ratings, praise, and pursuit of jade):the first few episodes were definitely really confusing. there's a lot of characters, backstories, and overall just an information overload lol. i mean this is def not new for cdramas but i think compared to other dramas, this definitely took me longer to understand and grasp what was going on.
i really like the fl. she's not physically strong but she's so smart and intelligent. so its nice to watch and not be annoyed at the mc making dumb decisions lol.
the mcs have A LOT of chemistry. they're so perfect for each other i luv it. the confession is in ep18, and they finally get together in ep 19/20 (jumping straight to a wedding lol). took longer than i anticipated but there's a lot of interactions between the two before this and you can def see the chemistry without them actually being together, which is great.
the ost and cinematography are both really good. the shots are soooooo good. i came here after watching pursuit of jade and the cinematography did not disappoint.
one thing im not the biggest fan of is that there's LOTS of family drama and then political drama and just every single type of drama that you could think of tbh. imma be completely real... it was lowkey tiring to watch at some points lol. it just got really overwhelming. sometimes the plot is just SO heavy. there's so many different groups of people and so many people conspiring against each other and it just becomes draining and suffocating to watch. literally just problem after problem loll non stop fr. i was STRESSED 24/7
lowkey the overall plot is not bad at all. just has SO much depth lol. its very complex but its pretty well written lol (just watching it was a bit stressful for me loll)
the ending was great. everything was wrapped up nicely. i enjoyed it. everyone is literally dumb af but pulled through in the end cuz of our girl dou zhao <3 she da best. yantang is ok too. there's a five year time skip in the last like 10mins of the final episode. it was alright.
despite all the negative things i said, it was still enjoyable. i really liked the mcs and, don't get me wrong, the plot is good, but maybe im just watching it at a bad time cuz it was just a bit overwhelming for me. im just binging this in my free time so maybe i just needed something lighter to watch lol.
this drama requires too much brainpower to understand lol

what i liked:
>the hand to hand fights were incredible. compared to the previous season, this one felt way more professional there were moments that honestly felt real.
>the acting was on another level, seriously amazing especially hwang chan sung. i literally had to look at his face a few times to recognize him because the transformation was insane.meanwhile, baek jeong was one of the characters that annoyed me the most. like honestly, when a character makes me want to yell at them or even throw hands, you know the actor did an incredible job. i’m still tempted to grab my flip flops and throw them at his head.
>the brutality felt almost sensory. broken bones, blood splattering and dripping, cuts on the head, stomach, shoulders, teeth… punches drawing blood it actually made me close my eyes. first time i genuinely didn’t want to watch something like that.
>their bond was even stronger this season. they didn’t hesitate to protect each other, and it wasn’t just friendship it was camaraderie, love, loyalty, empathy, partnership, connection… do you want me to keep going? 🥵
>kim geon woo’s humility is his greatest strength. i haven’t really seen anyone talk about that 🤔 and when i see it in his actions, it almost makes me cry, because that kind of thing is rare nowadays.
>their physical strength definitely improved a lot compared to last season. both of the main characters must’ve been training super hard, because not only did their muscles get bigger, their posture and overall strength looked way better. when geon woo started running after the car, his muscles were contracting so intensely i was honestly worried he might’ve pulled or torn something. it felt so real, so intense, he was almost huffing and breathing super heavily afterwards. i’m so proud of geon woo.
>choi tae ho was a true hero here. not only did he help the boys and encourage gun woo when he was at his lowest seriously, if it weren’t for tae ho, gun woo might’ve completely broken he also fought to protect his family. even with wounds, stitches, and a battered face, he went after them, hunted for information, just like his assistant, who was amazing in his quirky nerdy way. they’re both real heroes
what i didn’t like:
>the police were SO stupid they deserve an award for it. and yeah, i get it netflix loves making cops look useless or like punching bags but this really annoyed me. they went in to arrest someone without any protection? like what?? they basically got sliced up with knives like they were in a butcher shop.
>there were a lot of deaths without much explanation. i understand that some characters had to die given how violent baek jeong was, but it still felt excessive, especially with so many cops dying
>kim geon woo crying started to get on my nerves 😩 i get that he was scared of losing his family, but at some point it was just too much.
>the story felt like it focused more on fights than actual development. it made it harder for me to finish because it felt kind of empty compared to the previous season.
> the last episode ended way too fast, just like the whole mission to rescue kim geon woo’s mom. and honestly, that’s starting to feel like a typical netflix pattern.

do I love u or do I love u
I deliberated between giving this drama 8/10 or 7.5/10. In the end, I gave it 7.5/10.I felt that the casting was not great. The FL is very feminine and cute in her own way. I watched her in other dramas prior to this and she was cute. However, I felt that she did not suit this drama. She was much much better in “Destined”.
The premise was all right but the mad queen was really one total crazy b*tch. Things were rather interesting at the start and then, things became just slightly frustrating afterwards when ML regained his memory. There was nothing that was a true standout for this drama. It was watchable but nothing too great imo. I did not find the chemistry between the leads “satisfying’ either. It was all just rather lukewarm.

Still Entertaining, But Not as Strong as Expected
When I first heard about Season 2, I was genuinely excited. The trailer made it look like the story would go in a fresh direction while still keeping the intense street-level action that made the first season so enjoyable. Naturally, my expectations were quite high. The strongest part of the season is still the action. The fight choreography remains impressive, brutal, and engaging. The chemistry between Woo Do-hwan and Lee Sang-yi continues to carry the show, and their dynamic is still one of the most entertaining aspects of the series. Their performances make the action scenes feel more emotional and meaningful.
However, while the action is strong, the storyline felt weaker than I expected. Compared to the first season, the plot development seemed limited. A lot of new characters were introduced throughout the season, but many of them appeared without much explanation about their background or motivations. Because of this, some parts of the story felt rushed or less connected.
It almost felt like the show focused more on delivering bigger fights rather than building a deeper narrative. While that may work for viewers who mainly enjoy action-driven dramas, I personally expected a stronger balance between the story and the action.
That said, the season is still entertaining. The fights are well-executed, the performances are solid, and the production quality remains good. It’s definitely not a bad watch, especially for fans who enjoyed the characters and the intense fight sequences.
The ending also feels like it is setting up a possible Season 3. At the moment, I’m not completely sure if I would continue watching, but I am curious to see how the story might develop if another season happens.
Overall, Season 2 delivers strong action but feels a bit lighter in terms of storytelling compared to what I expected.

Practical guide to watching a forgettable drama
The story follows a woman who finds a mature love. Based on the title and the opening episodes, it seemed like we were about to go on a journey exploring just how difficult it is to find love but that expectation was a bit misleading. Instead, what we get is a calm, laid-back drama centered on two adults simply being in love. Life happens but nothing ever shakes up their love life, which makes the pacing feel slow for most of the show. The dramatic and emotional parts all fell to the second male lead who seemed to be leading a whole different drama. The two main actors did everything right individually, but I didn’t fully believe their chemistry. These are very talented actors who I have seem in various projects having palpable chemistry with other actors so it really was strange that they did not feel well paired.
I did appreciate the absence of some overused tropes no childhood connection and no white truck of doom. However, the return of kopiko (product placement) made me laugh every single time it appeared on screen, even though it clearly was not meant to be funny. Overall its well acted and beautifully shot, with my biggest qualm being the unengaging story line.

A cycle of hell
First and foremost, I want to give a huge trigger warning: this film dives deeply into themes of abuse and domestic violence. If these topics are distressing or triggering for you, I highly recommend avoiding it.The movie is adapted from a chilling horror novel, and while there is a Korean remake, this is the original Japanese version.
**Plot**
The story revolves around Mitsui, a man who has dealt with feelings of neglect and isolation since childhood. He was often overlooked by both his family and classmates, leaving him with a profound sense of abandonment. The only person who ever acknowledged him and called him by his name was Chihiro, a girl from his past. Despite the passage of many years since high school, he remains obsessively fixated on her. One rainy day, while riding in an elevator, Mitsui catches a whiff of a familiar fragrance that instantly transports him back to memories of Chihiro. This pushes him to seek her out, hoping to catch a glimpse of the girl he has been infatuated with for most of his life. However, to his surprise, the woman he encounters is far from the radiant girl he once knew. The smile that once lit up her face has vanished, replaced by a heaviness that deeply concerns him.
**Spoilers ahead****
Driven by worry, Mitsui decides to move into a nearby apartment, becoming increasingly fixated on Chihiro. This initial concern gradually spirals into an unhealthy obsession, leading him to engage in stalking and sinister behaviors like installing recording devices, and even hiding beneath her bed at times (and that's not all).
As the narrative unfolds, Mitsui uncovers the horrifying reality of Chihiro’s life. He learns that she is living in a cycle of abuse and sexual assault at the hands of her husband. Let me tell you; these scenes are raw and haunting, and they are really difficult to watch at times. Yet again, they are another testimony to the harsh realities that many women endure, often in plain sight. What is interesting is Mitsui’s obsessive perspective allows him to recognize the alarming signs of her abuse, while those directly involved in her life seem oblivious to the horror she experiences daily, although the signs are right in front of their eyes.
In a way, you feel like Mitsui is the better option, but the movie presents a complicated portrayal of Mitsui’s character. While he observes the torment Chihiro faces and wishes to intervene, his role as a stalker complicates any potential for him to be a genuine ally. His obsession undermines his intentions, presenting him as both a potential savior and an unsettling threat. The contrast between Mitsui's stalking and the reality of Chihiro's situation raises profound questions about the nature of her safety. While we are presented with two bad guys and pushed to recognize the better bad guy, we also realize how scary this situation is for Chihiro. On one side, she has an abusive husband, who gives her hell on earth; on the other side, there is a stalker whose obsession can spiral at any time, and we don’t know how far it can go. It makes me wonder if Chihiro can really be safe.
Overall, the film is nicely crafted but difficult to watch due to its brutal and realistic portrayal of abuse and sexual assault. It leaves viewers contemplating the complexities of human obsession and the desperation of those trapped in damaging relationships. The story serves as a reminder of the realities many face while exploring the darker aspects of human emotion and connection.

A Must Watch!!
Mr. Bad tells the story of an ancient fictional character, Xiao Wudi, summoned by a writer named Nan Xing, into the modern times. The plot was such a grabber. I have not yet encountered any similar plot since watching Chinese dramas or movies. Somewhat it was refreshing and sooo much enjoyable.
I don't think words is enough to commend this drama. It just captivated me big time. Maybe it was the acting of the actors or the plot itself, I don't really know since everything in the drama was so perfect. The plot was superb, acting was commendable, and OSTs are good.
I have seen quite a few dramas of Shen Yue and I can say she really is a great actress. No doubt about that but there is just something about her in this drama that makes it different. I love how she was able to pull her bubbly side in this one. I think she was not acting at all, she was just being herself and that makes it so much special.
For Chen Zhe Yuan, the only drama I have yet watched with him is the Hidden Love. I watched it because I got curious why is it so popular and I understand now why. Though, it never hit me like I got hit from Mr. Bad. I like Zhe Yuan more as Wudi, I must say. He was clearly enjoying every bit of his antics, which I love the most. It's like his a natural trouble maker in nature and just being as himself on the screen. I love it when he try to be cool but ending up embarrassing himself everytime LOL. Either way, Chen Zhe Yuan, drove me crazy for him after watching Mr. Bad.
For all the other characters, they are all so lovable. The second lead couples are adorable together with a nice love story plot too. Aunt An and all the characters in X-Culture was so fun and engaging to watch. And oh, the senior and junior trope love story of Nan Xing's friends are also very cute. Every characters and it's actors are so great no matter how tiny their appearances on the screen since their screen time are always worthwhile.
I definitely recommend this drama if you want a refreshing, light, and enjoyable watch. There was no toxic character in Mr. Bad and no villian so the problem was more of how can they stay together despite their worlds apart. Mr. Bad delivered consistently till the end without any single dull moment. Also, the leads are adorable with such a strong chemistry but not cringe and overacting. Mr. Bad is Rom-com drama with a touch of fantasy love story between an ancient fictional character and an ordinary writer that is yet to discover her real capabilities in the industry.
P.S.
Please prepare your lungs and gasp for air before watching, for a lot of funny and embarrassing moments will be witnessed.

The characters are written with remarkable nuance—flawed, relatable, and constantly evolving. What makes the series stand out is how it allows its leads to grow not just through romance, but through personal reflection and the relationships they build with others around them.
The chemistry between the main characters feels natural and unforced. Their connection develops gradually, making every small moment—shared glances, quiet conversations, and even silences—feel meaningful. It’s a slow-burn romance done right, never rushed and always grounded in authenticity.
Visually, In Your Radiant Season is stunning. The cinematography captures soft seasonal tones that mirror the emotional journey of the story—warm, nostalgic, and occasionally melancholic. The soundtrack complements this beautifully, with gentle, evocative songs that enhance rather than overpower the narrative.
However, the drama may not appeal to everyone. Its pacing is deliberately slow, and viewers looking for fast-moving plots or high-stakes drama might find it uneventful at times. But for those willing to sit with its rhythm, the payoff is incredibly rewarding.
In the end, In Your Radiant Season is less about dramatic events and more about the quiet, transformative moments that shape our lives. It’s a heartfelt reminder that even in the most ordinary seasons, there can be something truly radiant.

A Too-Good-to-Be-True Story
I wasn’t planning to write a review for this drama, but since I have a bit of free time, here it is.I’ve said this before, but a revolution setting in the 70s and 80s of China is my favorite genre. It’s not that I enjoy watching people struggle with poverty, but I love how these dramas portray development and history in the making. That’s also the reason why I keep watching this kind of drama no matter how bad the plot is (not that this drama is bad… okay, enough rambling).
This drama is a mix of time travel and the creation of a female hero. It’s heavily female-centric, with a green-flag male lead acting as support. It’s also a family drama, showing growth, development, and liberation.
Xia Xiaolan, who is in her 30s in the present, time-travels back to 1983 as a teenager. Of course, she has a “cheat code” to live her new life. She starts everything earlier, becomes a pioneer in many things, and lives her life to the fullest. In her previous life (the present I mean), Xiaolan was bullied both in school and at work, so she changes everything in the second chance she gets. I love everything she does the second time around. She rescues her mom from abuse, goes back to school to pursue her dream major, builds a circle of trustworthy friends and colleagues, finds love, and creates her own support system.
You can learn a lot of life lessons from this drama: giving people second chances, keeping supportive people around you, doing business, turning your “cheat code” into something real, finding warmth in people who aren’t blood-related, and even achieving work-life balance lol.
It may seem too good to be true, but that’s what makes the drama interesting. The plot is so perfect that it actually makes you anxious as it goes on. Every time Xiaolan gets a standing ovation, I get scared of what’s coming next. I didn’t read the novel, so I stayed in suspense until the end, and I survived, phew!
What I want to appreciate more is the writing and production. They had to work around censorship, and with time travel plots, you usually have to settle for a short reunion in the present, with nothing more than smiles. I think we’re lucky they at least showed the scene where Zhou Cheng calls her name. But still, no hug, no kiss, no glimpse of their life after the reunion [EHEM], lol. I only looked up the original novel ending after finishing the drama. Of course, it’s more detailed and clear, but that’s the Chinese drama industry for you. You miss out on some things due to government restrictions, but it also leaves room for your imagination.
As for the actors, Zhou Ye delivers as usual. I love how she portrays teenage Xiaolan in 1983: young, yet strong. You can really tell she put a lot of effort into showing Xiaolan’s growth into adulthood. And Zhai Xiaowen! Please do more dramas. I know you’re a singer too, but I want to see you act more, lol. Special shoutout to Lawrence Wong! His character is hilarious, and his acting is so good.
Overall, it’s a good drama. I’m glad actresses still have space to lead strong female-centric stories despite the challenges. It may not be perfect (there are still some flat/slower parts) but if you like the actors, you should definitely give it a try. It’s inspiring!

A worthwhile show
This show has been so fun to watch so far. I am excited for the upcoming episodes to see how the main characters relationship builds. The cast for this show has a close bond and I really think that portrays into their characters as well. The cinematic shots and dedication to the historical plot line truly bring you into the story. There is comedy, mystery, and building romance. Give it a watch!

That’s not what was expected
I’m really disappointed with the series, even though I’d been looking forward to it for ages. The novel was written as a beautiful love story, but they’ve turned it into a silly, bizarre comedywhere one of the actors is constantly running about and acting like an idiot. I won’t be watching any more of it.Was this review helpful to you?

My goodness... What did I just watch....and most importantly... WHY DID I JUST WATCH???? If you take a hot obsessed toxic bad boy ml,sweet naive sometimes dumb fl,twists after twists, and plotholes after plotholes, some cliche villains, time travels, dream sequences, self sacrifices, good second ml,plastic surgery,a whole ahh dragon.......and some really hot kisses with lame af ending and mix them all with some mashrum drugs or hallucinogens.....the thing you get is this drama,Affinity!!!
The whole thing was so bizzarre,it became actually enjoyable at some point. They're really clever to put that Helium thing in the end, otherwise it would become a comedy sketch rather than a hot show.
Lead couple was good, especially the ml.His character development was really evident from the beginning towards the end. But storywriter was on crack most probably.

Romance really would have added a lot of spark
Just to be clear, I’m not someone who needs romance in everything. But in this case, it really would have added a lot of spark. If there had been something between them, the last three or four episodes would have felt even more intense to me. As it is, I have a slight feeling that I kept waiting for “something more.”That said, this is still a mostly positive review - I don’t want to sound negative. I can’t say I was particularly surprised by anything; I kind of had a sense of how it would all unfold from the beginning. But the two main actors have amazing chemistry, and it was a joy to watch them work through past wrongs, even though it was - especially for him - a long and painful journey.
And honestly, I do think that wedding is going to happen :))
