my fault: china (2025)
the siblings or not debate doesn’t faze me—I was raised on shadowhunters clace making out after fully believing they’re blood related. he yu looks absolutely divine when he’s beaten up and covered in blood it should be illegal. yu shuxin is becoming a non-negotiable actress to watch for me she kinda makes hits after hits. noble idiocy generally pisses me off but the psychology behind jin zhao’s actions makes perfect sense to me he’s absolved. I’m still geeking over their names being “longing from dusk till dawn” HELLO???Was this review helpful to you?
Flat and flawed
This drama starts off like flat soda no fizz at all . The FL acts like she’s some genius but falls for the ML after just one sappy sentimental like seriously, that’s all it took? Meanwhile, the ML's personality is so dull and boring I mean . I get the hard-to-get vibe, but at least be worth chasing! In a matriarchal setting, you expect a queen with brains and power, but nope—she struts around like a cheap drag queen with flower boys for security and a guard who can’t even save her from falling off a stool. Their “intelligence work”? Breaking into random houses with zero planning or network—total amateur hour. The plot only wakes up around episode 17, so if you can survive the snooze fest, there’s some payoff. Not my cup of tea, but maybe for those who enjoy chaos and cringe in equal measureWas this review helpful to you?

Good Filler While Waiting for a Drama Series to End
My rating: 7.5/10Review
This was a solid “in-between” watch — the kind of movie you put on when you’re not ready to commit to a long, fully developed drama but still want something romantic and engaging.
It starts off pretty silly and a bit over-the-top, which made it hard to take seriously at first. However, as the story progresses, it settles into something more reflective and surprisingly thoughtful. The second half carries more emotional weight and gives the story a bit more substance than you initially expect.
That said, it still remains a very light watch overall. It doesn’t demand much from the viewer and doesn’t leave a lasting impact, but it does its job as easy, enjoyable entertainment.
For serious romance fans who are just looking for something quick while deciding what to watch next, this works well. It’s pleasant, easy to get through, and has enough charm to keep your attention.
👉 Overall:
Good as a filler
Light, easy, and mildly entertaining
Not something I would actively seek out or rewatch
⚠️ Spoilers
The museum incident was honestly a bit ridiculous. A child knocking over something that valuable would realistically have had much bigger consequences, especially for the parents. The fact that it escalated into something involving tensions between countries felt exaggerated, and tying it to something as trivial as food made it even harder to take seriously.
That said, I did appreciate the way the time loop concept was handled.
Instead of constantly trying to “fix” things like most time loop stories, the characters actually take time to enjoy the situation. They spend days just living freely, doing what they want, and making the most of the reset. That felt refreshing and helped the romance feel more natural rather than rushed.
Because they had all that extra time together, their relationship developed in a way that felt earned, even within the constraints of the story.
I also liked the twist — that the solution wasn’t about changing major events, but about paying attention to the people around her. That added a more grounded, emotional layer to the story.
Another standout was how she gradually became completely over her ex. Experiencing the same interactions repeatedly made his apologies feel more and more hollow, which was actually very realistic. That “forgive me” loses all meaning when you hear it enough times.
The one thing I really didn’t like was the separation trope at the end.
Two years apart felt completely unnecessary. It didn’t add anything meaningful and actually weakened the emotional payoff. Realistically, most relationships wouldn’t survive that kind of gap, and it just felt like forced drama for the sake of it.

I Still Believe in This Story
I came into LUAT with high expectations, and I can understand why some viewers might feel disappointed after the first episode or two.The pacing at the beginning is a bit slow, and the tone leans more into light comedy than what some people expected from a historical BL. These points are valid and worth acknowledging.
However, I don’t think it’s fair to judge the entire series this early. There is clear potential in the storytelling, and the production quality is actually quite solid. The cinematography and setting are visually appealing, and Net’s performance brings emotional depth that keeps the story engaging.
Like many series, this one may take a few episodes to fully establish its direction and emotional weight. Dropping it too soon might mean missing the development that comes later.
Overall, instead of labeling it as a failure, I see LUAT as a series that is still building its foundation. It deserves more time before a final judgment is made.

Beautiful love story
I feel so bad for plob. I just hope klao will remember him soon. The yearning in his eyes, he’s so scared that the man he loves will love him no more, worst. Will not even remember the love they shared.
Please remember plob🥹🥹🥺 I don’t want him to be sad.
As for netjames fans, I hope you know spreading hate isn’t good. This hate will backfire on James when he gets a partner. The partner will feel the pains JJ had to go through.
I hope you also know James can’t pull this off. He isn’t that good of an actor to do this, I watched his trailer and it was just weirdly done

Amazing
LUAT with NetJJ is such a well-done series. The overall vibe is what really stands out. Everyone from the scenery to the music and humor blends together so naturally. The cinematography creates a calm, immersive feel, while the music adds just the right emotional depth without overpowering the scenes. The comedy is woven in perfectly, keeping it light and enjoyable. On top of that, the acting is strong and the characters are engaging, making you genuinely care about what happens next. The storyline keeps you intrigued without feeling rushed. Definitely one of those shows that pulls you in and keeps you wanting more! I can’t wait for the rest of the episodes. Was this review helpful to you?

Potentially triggering for some
This is one of the more in-depth series I've come across that highlights the impact of predators. For the female audience in particular, it may triggering if you've ever experienced similar traumas. But I appreciate the nice dosage of revenge, even more so when it comes from random individuals who come together from different events but towards the same instigator. The plot flow was pretty done well and they even managed to slide in a few humorous moments despite its somber environment. But with only 24 episodes (should have skipped 25) of the main story, there were definitely events that should have been delved into deeper. The fallen comrades jerked out tears but their deaths was very unsatisfactory... and potentially unnecessary. I wish they dived a little more into how the FL lived out her seven years and her relationship with the main wife. Also don't realize understand her reasoning for leaving her husband.
Some may not find the antagonist's background story very redeeming but ironically, it's quite realistic for me. Not all people who do evil deeds have sad and traumatizing backgrounds that we should feel forced to justify. His final penalty also felt too light and unsatisfactory.
There are also some plot holes but nothing that deters too much from the overall feel. It's worth a watch if you're okay with the triggering topic of SA. As for episode 25, it's an alternate ending for what if none of this happened and none of them really met. Personally I think it diminished the end feel of the series and it can be skipped completely, but some may appreciate it.

Stayed to watch the capital palace intrigue towards the end (epi 34-40)
The chemistry between the leads was incredible and they made you believe they were truly in love with each other early on. And while I loved the acting of the FL which was solid and consistently showing her growth throughout, I was let down by the acting of the ML as I had expected the ML to be edgier and colder from the start (like Murong Jinghe from KMLM), and for there to be more of a change in his personality as he softened and fell in love with Chang Yu. I just didn't see it as he was such a loveable guy from the start!I especially loved the actors who played the puppet emperor and Xie Zheng's cunning uncle, Wei Yan. They stole the show in the last 10 episodes and I couldn't keep my eyes off their riveting, sympathetic performances of characters we should be despising for the acts they have committed. They all deserve acting awards.
The capital arc and court palace intrigue felt more grounded in reality and was told from multiple perspectives, Rashomon style. (The story was apparently based on a real historical female general in China, although I don't know how much of the palace intrigues were real). I won't spoil it but the last 10 episodes are like a murder mystery with the leads trying to figure out what happened to their parents and why and holding the culprits to account,
Storywise, while it was better than you're typical historical period piece, I felt there were certain plot points that were missed or not elaborated upon (e.g., when he finds out the FL is the daughter of his family's sworn enemy, Wei QiLin) that I wish he struggled more with before deciding to get together with the FL. Instead of giving him pause, he told her he was aware of her connection and would help her clear her father's name. No self-respecting general (simp or no simp) would go this far!
Also a major plothole was why he would drop a 17 year old family blood feud with Wei Qinlin if, after opening up a whole investigation into the Jinzhou massacre and finding his family's sworn enemy, Wei Qinlin's family, was still alive and even going to the Northwest to further investigate? Also, what's with all the parental suicides? That was unbelievable too and come on, let the bad guys get away with murder sometimes (as they often do IRL).
Otherwise, 9/10 story. It noticed a lot of similarities between Pursuit of Jade and Kill Me Love Me (e.g., live in husband, the general who was wronged, the stay in a village where the couple develops feelings for each other, the final stand off with the relative to vye for court control (in KMLM it was the crown prince and in POJ it was the emperor and his main ministers/advisors).

Not terrible but not great either
I had high hopes for this drama based on the fact that Han Ji Min was the lead and she stars in some of my all time favorite dramas (Familiar Wife, One Spring Night, Love Scout). It's not the worst drama but it definitely wasn't the best. The only word I can think to describe this drama is bland. I really wish they would've leaned more into the love triangle. I usually don't like that trope, however, in this drama with her meeting two guys around the same time that she liked, I think it could've been interesting. Anywho, if you want a filler drama to watch while you're waiting for something better to air, this drama may be for you.Was this review helpful to you?

ITS A 10/10 AND ITS NOT EVEN COMPLETE YET
1000000/10 series. I love Love Upon a Time!! As of April 5th there’s only 2 episode and it’s genuinely sooo good. It’s building up to the greatest angst story ever. And NetJJ and LatteKim are phenomenal!!!You’ve never seen such a relatable main character. How would you react if you got sent to the past— 400 years!! You’d probably freak out, maybe be in denial or even believe ending it would send you back home. So did Nakhun HAHA!! He’s relatable freak out to suddenly being in the past was the funniest thing ever. I loved seeing it because that’s how I’d react

irritatedly annoying drama
First i would like to start off, I do not hate any of the actors or actress they acted the way they were supposed to when given the script and direction from the director. What I hate about this drama is the fact that the creators were trying to do a love triangle when it was not necessary. The love triangle betweenML - Kong Ji Hyeok(Jang Ki Yong), FL - Ko Da Rim(Ahn Eun Jin) and the childhood best friend - Kim Seon U(Kim Mu Jun). This was not necessary. We already know who FL liked. The creators should have just paired up Kim Seon U(Kim Mu Jun) and Yoo Ha Yeong(Woo Da Vi), but nope, they didn't even let them be together in the end. It was left vague, stuck between just a friend or maybe a girlfriend. Just a genuine question, is it so wrong for a single parent to have romance? Why even bring Kim Seon U(Kim Mu Jun) and Yoo Ha Yeong(Woo Da Vi) together if we are never gonna get a happy ending for these two? I also felt that the ML sister - Kong Ji Hye (Jung Ga Hee), had room for improvement I 100% felt she could have gotten a character growth which was much needed. Kong Ji Hye's character was much more complex than any of the main characters. Her story seems far better, but it ended with her leaving the trash father. With all honesty, the creators were trying to slap the tragedy tag on the Main characters when in reality their tragedy was just a child's joke. Honestly felt like a kid made this script. Yes, this drama is 100% overloaded with cliches. This drama could have been more than just some cliche drama, but the creators decided to make it overdramatic and overloaded with cliche plots. This drama was a major letdown for me. I will say this again, I do not hate the actor/actress, they did their job, they were supposed to do. It's the creators that I hated.

Whoa
First drama I fell into that wasn't a full romantic story. I have to say the ML was arrogant, obsessive, an overall a hole at times with the FL. I hated that he did not have any personal growth. But then, this is very realistic, this is how it is in real life. The FL was great but she also had her flaws so many misunderstandings that could have been resolved by just speaking up when needed and explaining to the ML her thoughts, he gave her many chances too. I didn't like her ending it was depressing but again this was more realistic. overall the story and actors were great. the Supporting Male was also an a hole completely, he should have been punished more severely. And let's not talk about the Grandfather king smh what a character. I give this drama a high rating because besides it not being what I thought it was good, everyone's acting was on point. it keeps you going despite the frustration, had me in tears towards the end.Was this review helpful to you?
