such a sweet story

honestly, for such a dark premise, it really balanced out well with the main characters love story being so sweet. there wasn’t really that back and forth of feeling. ML did such a great job with golden retriever energy and he was precious. FL did such a great job being a softie at heart but keeping people at a distance behind walls (gloves). and they both did excellent at making us feel their emotions. even the FL didn’t really cry but you could FEEL her distress and sadness. the ML crying absolutely broke my heart. but their love was so sweet and she deserved someone who would cherish her despite the ghosts. and the ghosts even got to thank her which made me absolutely bawl.

Road to Success is a heartwarming surprise. At first glance, it looks like a typical sports drama about a high school football team, but it is actually a beautiful story about healing and second chances. I am giving it a solid 8.5 out of 10 because it delivers a comforting and deeply emotional experience.

The main characters, a teacher and a football coach, are both dealing with their own past struggles. They slowly build a bond that feels natural, respectful, and mature. The lead actors do a wonderful job bringing real emotion to their roles without overacting. The eleven students on the football team also shine brightly. Their friendship and teamwork make you want to cheer for them every step of the way, creating a wonderful "found family" dynamic.

What makes this show special is that the romance and the football matches are just parts of a bigger picture. The story focuses heavily on mental health, overcoming personal trauma, and the courage it takes to stand back up after life knocks you down. The overall story and mystery elements were compelling, but the sluggish pacing seriously hurt the experience. By the time I reached the final episodes, I had almost forgotten what actually happened earlier in the drama. Certain subplots felt unnecessarily dragged out, particularly the arc involving the female medical examiner. Just when a case seemed fully resolved, the narrative would reset back to square one, which quickly became frustrating. As for the main relationship, the chemistry between the leads was nonexistent. Thankfully, the romance was kept minimal, allowing the focus to remain on the central mystery the primary reason I stuck around to finish it.
Where the drama truly succeeded was in its stark depiction of societal double standards and the immense hardships women endure, highlighting how perpetrators often evade real consequences. If you enjoy mystery-driven plots and social commentary, it’s worth a watch, but be prepared for a slow burn.

A Swing And A Miss

There is just something so satisfying about watching New Thitpoom and Tay Tawan perform together again. In addition, there is a magnetism about seeing these two back on the screen again. They are indeed stalwarts in the BL industry. This series proved that they could bring back their old magic despite being saddled with a bad script. Everything seems so natural to them. However, as entertaining as these two are (and others), it was the silly plot and the lame screenplay that infantilized their attachment and made it embarrassing. They deserved better. This is a fun series to relax with; it is just a warm, comforting, romantic comedy. It is not meant to be deep and it will no doubt put a smile on your face. It certainly has a couple of good tug-at-your-heartstrings moments here and there. Overall, this is the perfect escape series from all the world’s ills and a pleasant diversion from its problems. Go for it.

Let me start with the fact that I was intrigued by another review of this show. So that and a mix of the initial setup gave me some expectations. I feel like the setup of the shows summary and the review gave the show so much potential, and I was eager to see how the characters would explore their evolving relationship from their high school days to now that they are older.
I kinda in a. way envisioned a journey of mutual understanding and growth together, where they learn to understand each other and themselves, in a way i had seen a dom-sub dynamic that one of them deeply craved for the others attention, this might be my mistake though also from the title of the show. I did see it to a point yes, but i was left with some of that missing vibes in a way.

From their regular day life and that point onward where they transitioned into a conventional couple. We see them more dealing with more everyday issues like Takaaki's self-doubt, and Naoya’s journey of self-discovery as he learns to assert his independence despite his challenging past with his father.

So without spoiling too much of the show id say that while the story is heartfelt and entertaining, with blends od romance and drama, it feels like it diverged from the promise of the initial concept, from the title at least. The chemistry between the leads is delightful, not really mindblowing but delightful nonetheless, and their journey kept me engaged throughout.

Tender Moments Without Much Payoff

I started We Are All Trying Here partly because it was written by the same writer as My Mister, and I hoped it might give me some of that same quiet ache. Unfortunately, despite some genuinely lovely moments, it never really did.

The drama is very gentle and understated, which isn’t something I usually mind. But here the restraint often left the dramatic and emotional moments having surprisingly little impact on me. I even took a long break between starting and finishing it, which probably says something about how little urgency I felt to return.

My bigger problem was the lack of payoff. Dong-man’s story reaches something tangible with him finally making his movie, but I was left wanting considerably more from Eun-ah, Gyeong-se, Jin-man and Jeong-hee. There are suggestions of healing and closure, but much of it is left implied rather than something we’re actually allowed to experience with them.

There are some wonderfully tender scenes along the way, and the performances are good. But after spending so many hours with these characters, I wanted the ending to make that investment feel worthwhile. Instead, I reached the end feeling strangely unrewarded.

Maybe I’m expecting too much from the dramas I watch

The premise is good, 2 outstanding and gorgeous male students meet, fall in love, overcome childhood trauma and become each other’s anchor, but I felt there was no real common thread (other than Duang chasing Qin and Qin playing hard to get) between the various mini stories so to me it all felt a little disjointed and padded out for the sake of 12 episodes.

Don’t get me wrong, there was still plenty to enjoy- the acting was great (though Duang wouldn’t have lasted long in my world as I found the character Teetee played too annoying and would have probably decked him by their second encounter if I’d been Qin), with several little cameos dropped in here and there (Nunew, Max & Nat) and the support actors added depth and warmth and sweet subplots to the whole thing. The production values were great and the backdrops to their love story were amazing.

The final scene, showing flashbacks to their journey were cute but overall this did not save this drama from being dropped into ‘the no chance I’d watch this again bucket’

highly recommend masterpiece

There is not a single boring episode in Move to Heaven. And I mean that literally.

The way this drama portrays every single emotion is just hella awesome. It's quiet, it's gentle, but it hits you so hard. I always thought I only liked the "enemies to lovers" dynamic when it came to romance, but this drama completely changed my perspective. It showed me that this dynamic can be even more powerful when it's about family.

And yes, they ARE blood related. It's about an uncle and his nephew - Sang-gu and Geu-ru. But blood doesn't automatically make you family, and that's the whole point of this story. They start off as strangers who can barely tolerate each other. Sang-gu is cold and rough, Geu-ru has Asperger's and lives in his own orderly world. Their bickering and awkwardness at the beginning feels so real. But slowly, so slowly, they start to understand each other, rely on each other, and become each other's home. That journey is more comforting than any romance I have ever watched.

What I love most is that it has everything - comedy, friendship, and grief. Literally everything. The comedy is never forced, it comes naturally from their personalities clashing. The friendship that builds between them is beautiful to watch. And the grief... this drama handles grief better than any other drama I've seen. Every episode we follow a new story of a deceased person through the things they left behind. Each item mover story will make you cry, but also make you think about life, regrets, and the words we forget to say.

I can rewatch this 10 times and I still won't get bored. Because it's not just a drama, it's a healing experience. It reminds you to be kind, to appreciate the people around you, and to say "I love you" while you still can.

I really wish they made more K-dramas like this. No forced romance, no unnecessary love triangle, no second lead syndrome. Just two people - an uncle and a nephew - who are blood related but have to learn how to truly become family. It's about comforting people who feel like home.

Move to Heaven is one of those rare dramas that stays with you long after it ends. Please watch it if you haven't. You won't regret it.

A beautifully executed emotional tale.

Never Let Me Go is one of those BL series that stays with you long after you finish watching it. 💙 It beautifully combines romance, friendship, family, loyalty, and the struggle to protect the people we love.

The chemistry between the leads is definitely one of the highlights. Their relationship develops through trust, vulnerability, and the feeling of finding comfort in someone when life becomes complicated. The story also has enough suspense and emotional moments to keep you invested.

What I especially loved was the emotional depth of the characters. They aren’t perfect, and their choices are shaped by family, responsibilities, and circumstances, which makes their journey feel more meaningful.

The cinematography and overall atmosphere are beautiful, and the soundtrack adds even more emotion to the story. Some moments are heartbreaking, while others are incredibly sweet. 🥹❤️

Overall, Never Let Me Go is a touching BL with romance, drama, suspense, and plenty of emotional moments. If you enjoy stories about love, loyalty, complicated families, and two people finding strength in each other, this one is definitely worth watching. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Why Because This Is My First Life Hit Me Harder Than I Expected

Because This Is My First Life feels very different from most of the dramas I’ve watched. I honestly think the writing is some of the best I’ve seen in a K-drama. It was thoughtful, emotional, and surprisingly relatable without trying too hard to be dramatic.

Things I loved:

1. The slow burn between Se-hee and Ji-ho

I loved how well their slow burn was done. Their relationship took its time, and I found myself rooting for them more and more as the story went on. Nothing about their relationship felt instant, which made the emotional payoff so much more satisfying.

2. The reconciliation scene

The scene where Ji-ho came back and Se-hee thought he was dreaming absolutely broke me. The way they looked at each other, and the way he started crying, was so emotional. After watching him stay so composed and emotionally closed off for most of the drama, it was really nice to finally see that vulnerable side of him. Even the scenes where he got angry were interesting because we rarely saw him openly express what he was feeling. After watching him suppress his emotions for so long, seeing him finally let everything out was incredibly satisfying.

3. The way Se-hee treated Ji-ho

One of my favorite things about Se-hee was how considerate he was toward Ji-ho. I especially liked that when his ex came back, his main concern was Ji-ho and how the situation might affect her.

He also didn’t make moves on Ji-ho until he was sure of himself. I’m so tired of male leads who stay confused about their feelings and end up making the female lead suffer because of it. Se-hee was quiet and emotionally reserved, but he always respected Ji-ho and her decisions. That was probably the best thing about him. He was genuinely a good guy, and I was happy to see him finally heal from his past and allow himself to be happy again.

4. Ji-ho being soft without being weak

I really liked Ji-ho as a female lead. She was gentle, quiet, and soft, but that never made her weak. When something truly mattered to her, she stood her ground and made her own decisions. I liked that her character broke the stereotype that a soft female lead also has to be passive or helpless.

5. The meaning of Se-hee’s house

I think Se-hee eventually sold his house because he simply couldn’t bear to live there anymore after everything that happened. That made the ending even more meaningful to me because he and Ji-ho eventually built a home of their own together. It was a beautiful reminder that having a house and having a home are not necessarily the same thing. Home is where the heart is.

6. Watching the characters go through an entire journey

By the end, I really felt like I had gone through a whole journey with these characters. I especially loved watching Se-hee and Ji-ho grow and change throughout the drama.

Even the smaller moments showed how much Se-hee had changed. Watching someone as economical and careful with money as him start spending unnecessarily on Ji-ho was so funny and cute. It was only 16 episodes, but somehow it left a deeper impression on me than a lot of longer dramas.

I also prefer watching dramas in one go, and I think that made this one hit me even harder because I could stay immersed in the characters and their emotions from beginning to end.

7. The poem and literary references

I loved the references to poetry and literature throughout the drama. They fit the characters and their situations so well and added another layer to the story. They didn’t feel like they were included just to make the drama sound deep. They actually connected to what the characters were going through and made certain scenes more meaningful.

8. CEO Ma Sang-goo

Sang-goo was easily one of my favorite characters. He was mature, grounded, understanding, and surprisingly emotionally intelligent. I really liked the way he approached people and handled difficult situations. He was just a genuinely likable character.

9. The social and economic themes

I also really liked how the drama touched on Korea’s economic changes and showed how the circumstances people grew up in affected their lives as adults. It helped explain their attitudes toward money, housing, careers, relationships, and marriage. Those details made the characters’ struggles feel much more grounded in reality.

10. The cat

And obviously, I have to mention the cat. It was so cute. Every time it appeared on screen, I just wanted to pet it.

Things I absolutely despised:

1. Ho-rang and Won-seok’s relationship

I absolutely hated their relationship, especially the fact that they got back together in the end. Ho-rang was so fucking annoying to me. Every time she came on screen, my blood boiled.

I found her incredibly selfish and toxic in that relationship. She wanted marriage badly, which is completely fine, but the way she constantly pressured Won-seok about it was not. It felt like she was so focused on what she wanted that she barely listened to what he was actually telling her.

2. Ho-rang’s ending

This was probably one of my biggest problems with the ending. Everything worked out a little too perfectly, especially for Ho-rang. I would have much rather seen her stay single for a while and actually reflect on her choices, the way she treated Won-seok, and the mistakes she made in their relationship.

Instead, after the breakup, she started seeing another genuinely nice guy and ended up involving him in a situation where her feelings for Won-seok clearly weren’t resolved. That annoyed me even more. If she still loved Won-seok that much, I don’t think she needed another relationship in between just to realize it.

I really wish her storyline had focused more on personal growth before putting her and Won-seok back together. Their reunion would have felt much more satisfying to me if I had actually seen her reflect and change first.

3. The final bus scene

I really wish the last bus scene had been only Se-hee and Ji-ho. That place already had meaning for the two of them, so it would have been much more emotional to end their story there together.

I don’t remember the bus having any particular significance for the other characters, so having everyone there felt unnecessary to me. It took away some of the intimacy from what could have been a really beautiful final moment between Se-hee and Ji-ho.

Overall, Because This Is My First Life left a much bigger impression on me than I expected. I definitely had my issues with some of the side stories, especially everything involving Ho-rang and Won-seok toward the end, but they weren’t enough to take away from everything I loved about it.

The writing, the slow burn, Se-hee and Ji-ho’s character development, and all those small emotional moments made the drama feel very complete. By the time it ended, I didn’t feel like I had simply watched these characters for 16 episodes. It felt like I had watched them actually live, change, get hurt, heal, and slowly figure out what they wanted from life.

Great Cast Wasted on a Terrible Script

Such a disappointment. So much about this show - a great cast of actors, excellent initial story premise, a variety of interesting characters and solid production values - should have meant for a top-grade k-drama production. Unfortunately it is all let down by a truly horribly stupid script. And the number one failing of the script can be summed up in three words: Plot Induced Incompetence. Because this script has the characters constantly being incompetent. At lots of things, but in particular at the things they were supposed to be good at. Main lead is supposed to be a capable bodyguard but consistently makes operational security mistake after mistake and is supposed to be mentally quick in critical moments (as she tried to show off in her job interview) but the script almost alway turned her into someone slow and frozen by emotions. She never learns her lesson about holding a gun on someone within arm's reach (don't do so unless you intend to pull the trigger), repeating the same mistake 3 different times! And it wasn't just her. Almost all the characters kept making obviously stupid choices that led directly to trouble. The plot relied super heavily on this again and again. Even the supposedly very careful and methodical Chairman had no backup power for his CCTV cameras! Simple things such as changing the door lock codes after you. have fired someone! And don't get me started on the bad police procedures! If it was just one or two things like this it would be easy to dismiss and ignore. But this show's script relied so heavily on a constant stream of obvious points of incompetence happening that it just became giant joke among all the Viki commenters as the show progressed. A lot of us got hooked by the early episodes which setup the premise and established the cast & characters, which were all fine. But then as the show went on it became a grind - a real endurance test to try to make it to the ending.
