"Brilliant from start to almost finish."

Reborn Rich is one of the most addictive K-dramas I've watched, with brilliant storytelling, corporate politics, and an outstanding performance by Song Joong-ki.

The revenge plot kept me hooked from the very first episode.

Watching Do-jun use his future knowledge to outsmart the Soonyang family was incredibly satisfying.

The business battles, betrayals, and power struggles were intense and well-written.

The drama did an excellent job portraying greed, ambition, and family conflicts.

The acting across the cast was top-notch, especially Lee Sung-min as Chairman Jin Yang-cheol.

However, the final episodes felt rushed compared to the rest of the series.

The biggest disappointment was Do-jun's death and the sudden return to Yoon Hyun-woo's original life.

After all the buildup, the ending lacked the emotional payoff and revenge satisfaction many viewers expected.

Overall, Reborn Rich is a fantastic drama with a weak ending—9/10 for the journey, but the finale left me unsatisfied.

Moonset in the Embrace of the Boat (2025) is a very good romance miniseries with Min Jie (as Lin Zhou Huai) and Zhu Xiao Xue (as Lou Yue) in the leading couples roles. The leading couple had great rapport and a tender impassionate chemistry; the male lead's steadfast love and protection led to a successful partnership and a devoted loving relationship. The cast did a good job bringing their characters to life and, although the drama could've used a few more episodes, the cast did very well with their allotted time. Overall, this drama is entertaining; enjoy it!
In the meantime, you can watch the drama on YouTube:"He abandoned me for his benefit of wealthy family, but he went crazy after I married his CEO brother" (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=364bL3Z4FKk) or "He refused to marry her but demanded she be his mistress. A bit disappointing

İ understand the hype but does it really deserves all that?
İ mean the movie is good, but not up to expectations, in it's core it's quite simple and not very unique.

The first 30 mins are the slowest ever, in case you didn't feel interested in whatever is going to happen or feel attracted to the characters in any way possible, you'll have to go through the next trivial 30 mins to have a total 1 hour of a "could be better" story.

The next chapter however, or the second part of it, this is where things started to get lively and engaging, the unexpected surprise. Be that as it may, I was lost during some parts of it despite being really captivated, i couldn't understand who is the ghost, who is the spirit and how is that related to the original corpse and why the Japanese guy is was there and what exactly is going on and why is he still there, why do the guy want to kill his offsprings and what's the point? A bunch of confused questions, i later found the answers for some of them but it was like whatever fits the narrative.

Maybe because i don't know enough about these korean shenanigans, but the way they ended it was very anticlimactic and disappointing.
You are telling me I can pee on a wooden stick and slap this hulk with it and he is gone? Alright next time i visit a grave in SK I'll make sure to bring a stick and drink a lot of water, just in case.

I know it's not as ridiculous but it's liquid and wood...
Overall, i guess it wasn't for me, I'm definitely not the targeted audience so aside from acting this was very meh!

A lakorn that's not overly complicated.

Out of the many Channel 7 lakorns I've watched so far, "The Gift" is probably one that’s not bogged down by overly complex plots. While the core story is not far from the typical lakorn we’ve seen in the market so far - the rich/poor trope, family issues, inheritance war, the typically annoying envious villains, some revenge and misunderstanding, but the overall story is not convoluted and with a good injection of supernatural element.

On top of that, this series features an investigative element that brings in suspense but is not too different to distinguish it from the typical straightforward conflict between good and evil commonly found in lakorn. But this blend makes the series feel more multifaceted, making it something interesting to watch despite its longer episodes.

While romance might not be the core of the series, the romantic plots play quite an important role, adding layers of warmth and humor to the story. However, the fake-to-real couple trope feels a bit rushed and unpolished. This series is the first collaboration between Thanwa Suriyajak and Garn Nuttacha, but their chemistry doesn't quite ignite. Even though some romantic scenes are designed to be funny and awkward, the way they deliver those feels forced and comes across as really awkward. On the other hand, the second couple (Arnon and Som) has a more natural chemistry with their own cute and entertaining interactions. And the third couple (Dech and Ameena), they’re just fillers that don’t give much significance to the story. Even without them, I think the series would progress just fine.

In short, "The Gift" is an enjoyable lakorn that blends family drama, romance, and a touch of the supernatural pretty well. Its interesting character dynamics and thoughtful pacing make it a good choice for fans seeking a lakorn that's less dramatic.

easy watching with a great storyline!

This drama was a really fun easy comfort watch that made you laugh and again had some really good deep topics that were handled really well. The actors and actresses were great. I think the storyline was really well written as well. It flowed in my opinion nicely! I really liked the cameos from the main actors previous work the songs, the characters et cetera I thought that was really fun and I’m glad everybody pretty much got a happy ending!

I would definitely recommend this drama if you want something easy watching with a real storyline and plot to follow

Poor acting of the Female Lead

What the heck is that acting from the female lead? Is she a robot? Her expressions and delivery feel so stiff and unnatural. They should have cast Esther Yu instead. Esther Yu is already a veteran actress who can handle different types of roles and emotions, unlike this robotic performance.

Esther Yu is the Queen of Cdrama and Chinese Entertainment.

like 50first dates and 20th Century girl had a baby.

sucker punch incoming. Did you enjoy fifty first dates with drew Barrymore? Did you endure 20th Century girl with the DL from My Demon ? Did you ever wish you could blend the two into a warm fuzzies film that morphs Shakespearean leaving you feeling à dystopian gutted feeling because gosh darn it you need to get some feelings out and dealt with? if you crave an ottoke catharsis, this is for you. how is this not five hundred characters yet? let me post already. I didn’t say what happened right? So it is not spoilery if the title says even if this love disappears overnight. end essay.

Packing a punch every Episode!

Spectacular! Phenomenal! We are almost half way through now and this drama has been consistent to show up every episode! I am blown away by the story and the acting. The writing and story are alive and fresh! The acting only enhances the story! Zhou Yiran and Chen du Ling are F*cking killing it!!!! They are not just insanely gorgeous faces but incredible talents! F*ck yeah let's go!!!

Great chemistry between the main leads - you are rooting for them and loving every moment of connection between them. Great rivalry and acting between Dengyi and Yanfang - it is exhilarating to watch them make moves in their power struggle as if playing a game of chess. And great villain. You really want to punch Xiao Xun in the face over and over again.

The costumes are gorgeous, the sets feel expansive. The background music composition is lively and sets the mood. The cinematography is gold! Great shots, great angles, great movement, great colours, great pacing, great storyboarding. There are good twists and good plot points.

My only criticism at this time has to do with the CGI and voice over. Most of the CGI is too noticeable and doesn't quite blend in and convince the eye. And something is wrong with the voice over...maybe the track is literally a second off but I can tell this is a voice over track. I'm getting nothing of the original sound recording and because of this I feel a little disconnected and not fully drawn in. These factors are issues that happen after filming and are the editing team's department. These issues suck but deserve a pass. But Directing and Acting, Story and Storyboarding are giving 10 out 10.

best thai gl ive watched in a while

I've never been super into thai gls. My first one was 23.5 which i thought was cute but mediocre at best and to be honest, I have yet to complete a thai gl (i always never watch the last episode; idk why) and i've watched a lot, ranging from pluto to love design.

Anyways! I only have good things to say about this show. This is coming from someone that doesn't keep up with gmmtv dramas or couples. I knew Jingjing from Whale store xoxo (which i never finished, sorry), and I was aware they were probably going to put her in a partnership, but I was assuming it was going to be with Piploy or something. But long story short, I did not know a thing about Janjingjing and had no idea what to expect but I decided to watch this after seeing clips on twitter and my expectations have been exceeded by miles so far!

The acting is spectacular. I'm not even exaggerating. After watching up to episode 3 (all that was out at that point), I watched Muteluv, which also starred Janjingjing and their characters were so different; it's like they are completely different people in EWB. From watching clips of them being themselves, Jan seems very similar to her character Lal, so maybe it's extra easy for her but if you compare her performance to her annoying ass character in Muteluv (no shade), it's like, wow... she's really good at acting. Jingjing's character Wine is so different from her real personality. and she portrays her so well that I genuinely forget that I'm watching a show with actresses and not, like, idk, reading a fictional story. Their chemistry is spectacular!

I think for a show based around office jobs, it's genuinely very good plot-wise, like they're making it as interesting as it could possibly be. No complaints there! Although it is a little sad how the side couple with Kapook and Ciize only get introduced when the show is already halfway done. Season two maybe...

And for the music, I love the opening! It's so catchy. At first I thought it was overstimulating, but it has grown on me and I listen to it throughout my day to keep my mood up lmao. My only pet peeve is that I am not a fan of when they play that song that goes "Kiss my cherry lips" whenever they make out like it's kind of fitting?? But also it does distract from the scene, like I would prefer if they just played slow romantic music like they normally do in gls.

Rewatch-wise, I have already done a rewatch. 👍 I really like this show and it genuinely makes me laugh

Did a new director take on from episode 36 to 40 or what?

This drama started really strong and that's why I had high hopes that this is going to be the drama that will have a strong storyline which involves complex political intrigue, household politics and romance but boy was I wrong... again! 😩 after the romance solidifed in the second arc of the story, i really thought ohh... now, the political turmoil is going to start. NOPE! The household politics just went on and on then there's this jealousy from the ML. 🥱
And How the heck the last 4 episodes shifted its focus to the second male lead? I swear the whole episode 39 was a tribute to his character! And the last episode.... what was that? It almost like the editors only have 5 mins left before the deadline so they just surrendered and hope for the best. What a frustration! 😭

how awkward can you be and for how long?

What would happen if the two most painfully awkward people on the planet had crushes on each other ? well, 28 hours later I can tell you it should’ve only taken 10 to get through most of that. I like a good slow burn. This was just too slow. Some really poignant moments , But a lot of disjointed or incongruous moments too. Considering the overall feel good momentum, the over-the-top dramatic part seemed a bit much. Some of it was too “ MESSAGE!” which is crappy. I like seeing dragon 😆

Physically Unskippable Title

Watched this on a whim solely because of the title and because I saw that the whole thing was only thirty minutes long altogether.

Despite being such a short series made for some kind of drama app thing, I still really appreciated a lot about it. This show actually looks really good visually despite being a very small, probably fairly low-budget production made by a small company. The acting was pretty good, I feel like they managed to build up some decent chemistry somehow over the course of only thirty minutes. The series definitely feels very fast-paced because it is trying to tell a story that is ultimately too complex for the amount of time it has to tell it. There are a lot of things that are clearly skipped over for the sake of time which makes it feel rushed. But it does manage to tie things together in the end for the most part. I do think the acting and production carried this overall though. Also the oddly good soundtrack?

I gotta say, something about this leaves me feeling a little empty though. This could have been an EXCELLENT full-length series or even a movie. But sadly, it's not, nor do I imagine they'd ever go back to try and turn this into something bigger like that. Oh well, it is what it is.

I really can't rate this any higher than a 6/10. Not bad for what it is, but not the best thing ever.

romance with ping issues ?

i genuinely liked it because it wasn’t afraid to be awkward, cringey, and funny (but not in a forced way). it’s a feel good slow burn love story between two gamers.

honestly there were a few plot holes here and there, but it didn’t really matter because the scenes between the main leads and even the second leads would make you kick your feet 🤣🤣. the business side of gaming was also interesting (stakeholders, investors, etc.), though half the time i didn’t fully get it HAHA.

i had to step away from The First Frost because it was such a heavy cdrama, but i promise i’ll finish it someday. 😭

A slow healing drama

I really enjoyed this show overall. I think that the cast was well casted and that they fit their roles very well. I honestly think this role fit Zhang Ruonan so perfectly like while watching I was like thats Wen Yifan, never did I think I was watching Zhang Ruonan.

I think my one plot critisism is the transition between Hong Kong and their relationship restarting. I feel like it should've been more clear as to why she just decided to stop being afraid of her hometown and abuser again. My best guess is that time helped her think more clearly? I dont know I just think the transition could've been cleaner.

Anyways I am quite satisfied with the pacing of their relationship. A lot of shows get the pacing off leading the show to be boring but I think this show does that well. I also really liked the plot with her abuser and the results of that plot.

I kind of wish they made the female lead express her love a bit more because it feels like he is so much more captivated by her or I wish that they had a storyline of the male lead being upset with her so that she would have to take the initiative first. I feel like something like that could've balanced the dynamic a bit better.

Overall, I had a very good time watching it but I think its not a perfect show for me because at times I found the main characters decisions abit irritating like she was dragging her sadness which just mad the show extra depressing at times. But I can overlook it.

The Trunk
