This show is a strong mix of dark comedy, crime, and legal drama.

I watched this series between 9 January and 20 January 2026. I am not sure if it was confusion or déjà vu, but since 2019 I used to watch K-dramas on MX Player. From 2021 to 2024, I remember seeing this show many times at number one in trending. I had been hearing its hype since then, but I never watched it. Now that I finally did, I can say it is really good.

This show is a strong mix of dark comedy, crime, and legal drama.

The main character, Vincenzo Cassano, is an Italian mafia lawyer and also an anti-hero. At the beginning, you may feel that this is a serious mafia story. But slowly, because of the tenants of Geumga Plaza, a lot of comedy and craziness comes into the story.

There is also a romantic angle. Overall, the series is good, so I give it 8 out of 10. If you like revenge stories with smart planning and a lot of style, then this is a must-watch on Netflix. The soundtrack and cinematography are very strong.

I loved it

I just read a review that criticizes this drama for not being consistent with the reality of the era in which it is set and for the narrative choice to follow some laws and ignore others. It also says that it is unacceptable that the very strong female lead is not valued, just to allow the male lead to play the hero. All true. I agree. The fact remains that I enjoyed all the episodes and stayed until the end to enjoy the epilogue. However predictable it may have been. The chemistry between the two, the butterflies in the stomach, the emotions, ML's unbelievable handesomeness. It had everything. If you're looking for these things too, watch it! read

No Tail to Tell presents a grounded and thought-provoking narrative that delves into fundamental aspects of human nature—ego, greed, ambition, and desire. At its core, the drama explores how choices driven by money and pride can quietly unravel lives and relationships.

However, the series suffers from its short runtime. While the story begins with a careful buildup, the pacing becomes noticeably rushed toward the end, particularly in the final episode. The climax leans heavily into melodrama, which somewhat undermines the subtlety established in earlier episodes.

The romantic arc, unfortunately, lacks convincing chemistry. The connection between the leads never fully matures on screen, making pivotal scenes—especially the kiss—feel abrupt and emotionally underwhelming. Instead of feeling like a natural culmination of growing tension, it comes across as rushed and insufficiently developed.

That said, the shortcomings seem more related to writing and production choices than to the actors themselves. Both leads have already proven their talent in other projects. In particular, Kim Hye-yoon once again demonstrates her screen presence, and her stylist deserves special praise—the wardrobe was exceptionally well done and elevated her character beautifully, adding depth and visual consistency to her portrayal.

Overall, No Tail to Tell is an intriguing drama with meaningful themes and solid performances. While it doesn’t fully reach its potential due to uneven pacing and production decisions, it still offers a compelling and aesthetically polished viewing experience.

With the help of alcohol

I think what's actually recommended is to drink before watching the drama.

It's not catastrophic, but nothing original either, just the expected clichés, and then... this very unsettling aspect that makes you feel like the entire drama is designed to encourage the characters to drink.
One of the characters is sober and wants to fight against the normalization of alcohol consumption... the other character spends his time trying to get him to drink (I won't spoil the ending, but...).

Unfortunately, in the end, what this drama highlights is the problem that many societies still have, believing that heavy drinking is necessary to have a good time, make friends, and be accepted.

It's sad to see storylines built on this premise in our time.

No Tale to Tell Indeed

This drama turned out to be a huge disappointment. I was initially excited to start this drama. Fantasy romance is my absolute favorite drama genre. I thought the first 4 episodes were the strongest. They set the story up nicely and I thought we were going to get a descent story. Unfortunately, after the 4th episode, this drama just faded into a nothing burger. Nothing interesting really happened. There wasn't much growth in the characters. The shaman plot was so ridiculous and unnecessary. The other villain was annoying at best. I honestly should've dropped this around episode 7 or 8 but I felt if I made it that far, I might as well finish the last few episodes. Save your time on this one, there are much better dramas to watch.

Sizzling chemistry & good acting in this other version of My Little Lover

It was a Sunday afternoon and I was deciding wbich vertical drama to watch when I came across this title on YouTube. I enjoyed it a lot and good thing this already has MDL page. I am surprised that this drama is another version of My Little Lover, which is one of my favourites.

What I liked:
1. FL characterisation - Yes, she transmigrated but I liked that she was self-assured and confident. She stood on equal footing as ML in terms of social status - she was an heiress not a poor, helpless woman.
2. ML characterisation - This drama gave more time to ML's arc. He was smitten by FL from the first sight and I liked his cunning ways to get FL to stay by his side.
3. Romance - It started with a one-night stand that later progressed into boss-employee relationship then lovers. I loved how affectionate and tender they were with each other. In most dramas, FLs tend to be more dependent on ML but here I sensed co-dependence.
4. Acting - It was great to see Li He Yuan in a ML role and he nailed it. Sheng Chen was convincing in her role and together they had sizzling chemistry.
5. Styling - Kudos to styling for choosing those outfits for ML. He was handsome and less stuffy looking. FL's outfits were ok but the short dress she wore to a wedding was too casual.
6. Supporting characters - I really liked FL's brothers and ML's assistant.
7. Writing - I never realised that this is another version of My Little Lover until I discovered this MDL page. I didn't make the connection so kudos to the writer for giving a different twist to my favourite story. I never felt bored while watching this version.

What I disliked:
1. Antagonists - The guy FL had a crush on & FL's cousin were horrible. So were FL's parents.

Excellent. Very enjoyable

I don't usually like modern cdrama, usually too long,too boring,too many unrealistic"obstacles",too much tear jerking. And "ROM com"are usually too much screaming or spoiled bratty behavior.
But this drama has the right balance in EVERY way. I am extremely impressed not just with the acting,but also the directing,the funny script,the thoughtful storyline,and the perfect editing.
Some might say the story is not deep enough but for 20episodes, I only come to be entertained and I thoroughly enjoyed every episodes. If you dwell deeper, there's actually a lot of depth, considering various types of hotels,the competition,the finances,the overall development of the hotel industry, the BTS problems ,the human factors etc etc. I learned a lot just from watching this

The two leads are absolutely fantastic in their acting and their timing. Somehow I feel their previous Korean training have made a difference,I have seen this in other ex k-idol who have returned to China. They're just more expressive,more natural and more adapted to the modern scenarios.

I will certainly follow these two leads again and wish the best for them, and the scriptwriter and director too.

Messy characters take centre stage

The reviews on this one are quite mixed and I can understand why. It isn’t a standard approach and if you come wanting a fast paced snappy storyline like “The Judge Returns” or “Again My Life” then you will be disappointed on a number of fronts. This is less about plot and more about how character and behaviour are shaped by experience, morality and ethics. Ultimately it examines trust and the sacrifices you have to make to build it. Swapping the vulnerabilities that you know for ones that are unfamiliar to you and having the courage to rely on others to cover your back. It takes characters locked by circumstances in their individual boxes and follows what happens to them when they choose to open the lid and escape from their isolation.

Unlike the dramas I mentioned above, where there is so much emphasis on rolling out the slick, clever plot twists that there is no time for things to go really pear shaped for the team of heroes (something I find annoyingly unsatisfying) in this drama there is real pain for the protagonists. Their scheming does not just knock over the villains and outwit them at every turn. They suffer serious setbacks and take the hits for the things they try to do.

I had a bit trouble in the first few episodes latching onto what I felt were pretty unlikeable characters. But I’m glad I persevered, because the richness of character is a real feature of the drama and gradually they wound me in, kept me watching and turned the tables until I was caught up by them. All of them are imperfect, protagonists and villains alike, and their faults are on full display. In fact that is the focus of the character growth.

It was a good ensemble effort and most of the cast stepped right up to the plate and gave some convincing performances. Personally, I didn’t particularly care for Lee Tae Ran’s performance as Jang Gyeong Ja, she didn’t have the depth and overplayed the melo.

Yes, as some of the reviews have pointed out, it slows through the middle, but that didn’t cause me a problem because there was always plenty of sub-text to think about and reflect on. in fact, rather than my usual binge habit, I wanted to take this one more slowly, so that I could appreciate the subtleties written into the excellent script.

The plot did have a number of holes in it but overall it stood up, had some decent twists and turns and as it was not a case of characters serving the plot, but rather the other way around, I was happy to just go along with it.

If you like realistic superheroes

I watched this series between 4 January and 7 January 2026. You can understand this show in one simple line: when money meets superpower. Since childhood, we hear that money is everything and money is power. This series takes that idea literally.

The main character has a superpower where the more money he has, the stronger his power becomes. If his money decreases, his power also weakens. That is the core concept.

You will find romance, action, drama, and comedy in this series. The concept feels fresh and different, which makes you curious to keep watching. The Netflix budget is visible. The CGI and visual effects look solid and not cringey.

If you like realistic superheroes who also worry about rent and bills, then this is a must watch. The story can feel a little predictable at times, but Lee Jun-ho’s acting and the unique idea make it worth your time. I give it 7 out of 10. You should give it one chance.

Good Story, Horrible Execution

The Filmatography
Poor editing, scenes jump abruptly and transitions are nonexistent. As if the drama was assembled without any regard for pacing or coherence. Instead of drawing viewers in, the choppy editing constantly reminds you that you’re watching something unfinished and poorly thought out.

The Leads
ML and FL's acting is subpar lacking the emotional depth this story so desperately needs.
FL's character is so boring and plain. No character development, nothing going for her and yet almost everybody in the drama likes her for some reason.
ML's character feels like a child trying to be an adult. He does these slow motion clips and "cool poses" and it's just so cringe and doesn't deliver the way they think it does. It just continues to play into the immature image I have of him.
I also fail to see the "chemistry" between them. It feels like instalove to me or pity love.

The Voice Dubbing
Off putting. I was very suprised to find that both leads dubbed themselves. A better job could've been done. Why act so stiff and expressionless on screen and then try to show your skills in the studio booth?

The Plot
Weak and directionless. Why is everyone literally OBSESSED with Cai Pingshu (who died 10 years ago btw??) No matter where the story tries to branch off to, everything circles back to her. It's almost like all the men in the previous generation either liked/were infatuated with her.
The plot goes around in circles and with no emotional buildup, sense of purpose or even proper character development, it's difficult to stay invested.

Final Thoughts
Overall, the story could be good. It genuinely seems interesting but deserves a better cast and better crew to tell it better.
