Cute, but a bit medicore

So I usually lower my standards and just go in for a good time and some cuteness for BLs and I will say this show delivered on that.

Good:
- most of the casting was good! Shoutout to sangwoo's actor for really selling it.

- the kisses were GOOD for a korean bl. The chemistry between the leads was also good

Not Good:
- I'm not sure if it's because of how jaeyeongs character is written or because of the actor, but their performance was meh for me. I think most of it is because the character is damn near written as a psychopath but he also has to come off charming enough to not be totally turned off by him. They don't really do a good job of navigating it so they pull an entire 180 on the character.

- I know sangwoo is supposed to be robotic and all, but it gets to a point where his scenes without jaeyeong are pretty slow and dull. I think they overdo the robotic trait

- the story is not written very well and the romance is poorly fleshed out. I've seen shorter bl that did a better job of convincing us of the romance. Again, I think they overshot with exaggerating the leads' character traits so it makes it hard to believe that they fell in love that quickly. This is the first bl where I wouldn't mind the episodes being a little shorter.

Overall, I'm meh about the show. It is cute if you want a bl to watch, but part of me feels like it was a waste of time cause you don't really walk away with anything.

A drama series you all definitely cannot miss!!!

First thing first, I'd like to show my biggest appreciation to the writer/s who gave the role of Shang Gu and Bai Jue to Zhou Dongyu and Xu Kai. They both portrayed their characters successfully and I give them my enormous respect for that. In the first few episodes, I was a bit reluctant to continue watching the series since I could not find the chemistry between the two of them. However, I pushed myself to continue it and by the time I reached episodes 20 above I got myself hooked on it once again. And that's basically the success of Zhou Dongyu and Xu Kai as each of them played two characters (Shang Gu/ Hou Chi) and (Bai Jue/ Qing Mu).

This was my first time watching Zhou Dongyu and I must say I like her a lot as she could express her sadness with her eyes only. Her chemistry with Xu Kai was also on point and I hope they both could work together again in the future. Another thing that I like most in this series is the soft colour combinations in each costume. They did not need to use complicated accessories to match up the costume, the simplicity itself makes the costumes look attractive and elegant. I just love to see Xu Kai in all costumes he's wearing here. He looked very charming as well as handsome on all of them.

Overall, if you are a fan of Chinese Wuxia or Xianxia series, "Ancient Love Poetry" is something you definitely can't miss. I believe you all will enjoy it. Thumbs up!! Cheers!!

When I tell you that this show drew me in. Because I was just so invested in the school. I mean, it is every part of it. Saying the investigation figuring out what happened to his uncle. In the perfect fix, it struggle and I couldn't like it. I can't form like words to tell you how much. I love that, and then the figure out that the main character was doing all that. Didn't show that there was actually a curse. The weather occurs, but they didn't, so they could stop being bad bad. But, Hey, they didn't really want trust code, and I get it. Nobody wants to dress app, but they can't go away and go and go. I don't like to soak it this way, but I know it's not what I want. The romance was, hands down, amazing. The first cow is amazing, woohoo. I just couldn't. I've been rambling and rambling rambling, but this is really good. Oh, and it deserves the $10 and some fee I sold that somebody put a 5 and I just don't understand these users like what happened and I think they didn't really pay attention to the show. This is a show that you generally have to pay attention to to understand stuff. If it has like a big butt, you have, you generally need to pay attention. If you don't pay attention, you're not gonna understand stuff. And if you don't understand stuff, you're not really gonna like the show if you don't understand anything. But I haven't heard of me. I'm always watching star in my Instagram. Mine, sorry, am I my bad? Pay attention to the show, and maybe you'll get it. That's you saw. I pushed myself to wash some shoes. Man, I love this voice input name. I said wash some shoes, my gosh. I meant to show my words disappeared. I want people to suck they do not read this because it's just me rambling, you don't even know what I'm saying because you can hear me right app next to the Lake you can't even hear me right app next to to link. You can even hear me right up next to the 22 next leagues. Gabriel, next league's gabriel Henry. You gave me a Harry accident 22 next week. You Gabriel Henry? What are you doing here? I don't know, gave you all. I just randomly popped up here well. You gotta go ahead of me, but why, Gabriel? Because you can't be here. Hadn't Gabriel, you're not making sense, man. You gotta leave alright Henry mcgabriel why mcgabriel I said buck Henry I need you to believe you can't be here man, give me a reason why I can't be here. Joe joe, who is joe joe Mama henry? ITs aWfuL

I watched the first episode and my god it was boring it was like my finger was permanently stuck on the skip button not only is it boring it's sooooo cringy that I just couldn't and the worst thing about this dram is the male lead not only does his acting suck ass but the character he plays is so cringy and he was so rude but somehow the female lead fell in love on the first episode and not only that but with a man who has the worst personality in the world. No one could make finish this drama (except money)

I would not recommend this drama to anyone.

Beautiful and uplifting

When I Fly Towards You manages to capture the fleeting moment in life when possibilities are endless. Back when we say goodbye to childhood and we become young adults going out into the world to expand our understanding as we discover ourselves through others.

On a technical aspect the cdrama is shot digitally but there are snippets filmed with an analog camera, visually making you understand you are being told this story from the POV of someone remembering. This adds a layer of nostalgia. Smart and beautiful to watch.

The acting is what I expect from a youth drama that understands itself: good natured, solid and well-rounded performances of characters growing up as we see them going through different every day experiences involving school, friends, family and love.

Overall, I fully enjoyed this cdrama that features an easy to cheer for characters, with good chemistry, learning about life and themselves. This is why I love youth dramas, they can be a source of joy and energy.

OffGun

So I might sound bais, and I do believe that I might be bais, but offgun was really whole reason show was really good to me. The story was absolutely amazing, as well as acting.

The story really had me in a choke hold cause I was really invested in who attacked Black. The romance part of the show also pulled me in cause offgun, as well as the side couple.

Well anyway my review needs to be longer. Um, I really like how they had the twins look, the angles they did was amazing with that. Although I wish they did the thing they did in Liv and Maddie, but I'm not complaining that much. I'm just saying stuff so I can post this review

Cute butttt...........

So I watched this drama when it first came out and it's really cute and honestly, there's nothing bad about it actually I do remember there being a moment that was really cringy so I had to take a week break but it's still a really cute drama. But the one thing I am confused about is how was she his teacher and then dated I know she was this teacher anymore but like how old was she and is that illegal to date a past student of yours anyway I ignored that anyway but just a question... But I would recommend this drama as it's really sweet and innocent and just adorable. OH, another problem I had with this drama is that I waited until the last ep hoping there would be at least 1 KISS SENCE but no I was disappointed.. however, this is just a personal thing I just like Skinship (in dramas) .

Watch it. it's adorable I mean you won't lose anything by watching it SO DO IT :)))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))

(also if I made any typos or grammar mistakes ignore them d: )

Didn’t really care for this

I actually had this series on my watchlist for a long time and I was left highly disappointed. This is a very forgettable series IMO.
I don’t know if that was a directional decision for the actor Yoon Do Jin to portray the character in that extreme manner but the overreacting/overacting/pouting and then combined with the loud voice was just so intolerable and off putting to me. I don’t know any 20year old male or female who talks and behaves like that especially in 2023 and I don’t care to know any either. I finished this solely because it was a short series, otherwise I would have dropped it.
IMO there was zero chemistry between the leads, it felt more like older/younger brother relationship to me. I also agree with some other reviews, who are questioning why Yul will not only fall in love but also want to date YeChan, I too cannot for the life of me understand why Seon Yul will fall in love with YeChan but to each their own. Someone else in their review said that love works in mysterious ways, so I guess I will take that as the explanation for this, even though I’m not buying it.
This is obviously a no rewatch for me and I really regret not dropping this. I highly do not recommend.

Exclusive Jun ...

Yum.
That man is just scrumptious; they should've used his real voice.

What was with the makeup though?
In some scenes he was so ghostly pale and it threw me off.

He's a great kisser and has good eye emoting.

I'd like to see him with a better story/more mature role.

You can tell who was the star to me here ; )

On with the rest.

Not a fan of the FL character overall.

Why were so many men infatuated with her?

Why was she unable to defend her self against the delivery guy?

The writers spent time building up how strong of a female she supposedly was, learned taekwondo, etc.

She dressed very boyish and often sat too relaxed, legs spread open.

Her mud colored overalls were not attractive at all, none of her clothes really were.

Her friend stayed dressing cute (her sense of style was about the only thing that character had going for her).

FL was beyond slow with recognizing the ML liked her, she irked me.

She seemed cockeyed a lot in this one too, her look was throwing me off.

Not a big supporter of the second couple.

The male yes, the female no.

Her fangirling character was ridiculous.

I loved that both parents supported their children being together, that was a refreshing take.

The ML father's story was absolutely preposterous and absurd.

What was the point of him abandoning/ignoring his son all those years when he was in contact with the mother and sending money home?

Some parts did not flow well or mesh together cohesively.

The biggest take away was the eye candy, especially the ML.

He was served on a pale, glowing platter but was delectable all the same.

*sigh* his kisses were on point times ten ..

Enjoyable, however I acknowledge I can't speak to the autistic rep

I had put off watching this drama for a while, despite some stellar reviews, because the general vibe I got from the trailer and the crowd I saw praising it made me wary of the representation. Americans are no stranger to the (hopefully) well meaning "inspirational" stories of "extraordinary" people with disabilities. These stories are usually meant to inspire people without disabilities, while infantilizing and sensationalizing, people with disabilities. This story fell into that trap at times, (that I noticed) while I did enjoy some aspects of the show.

The good:
- lead female character with autism. I actually can't think of any other examples of this in media.
- legal cases that were engaging and interesting to watch
- story that was pretty well paced, complex enough to stay interesting with family dynamics
- i loved Woo Young-woo's friendships with her Dong Geraumi and Choi
- a cast that was fun to watch for the most part (I still hate Kwon. I don't care about the attempt to redeem him)

The bad:
- this story falls in line with implying that people with disabilities are worth loving/paying attention to/existing if they're extraordinarily skilled at something. There's an entire episode where Woo Young-woo tries to help another young man with autism and she explains that people would view her worth differently if she had a similar presentation to the defendant she was representing and the entire show sort of enforces that. She's literally named as "extraordinary" in the title of the show and it felt like another example of a disability being presented as an added "bonus" because she's a great lawyer. I don't really remember people saying she'd be valued even without those skills.
- the attempt for WYW to be independent from her father is never furthered or addressed. Maybe in the next season? In a way it almost seemed to imply she'd go from relying on her father to relying on Jun ho
- Kwon is trash and that's never really addressed. Also, it bothered me that WYW's friend and Choi both wanted to date the guy that had it out for WYW the whole time
- Jun ho is cute and all, but his interactions with everyone in his life were discouraging. This guy repeatedly encountered horrible ablelist comments from his roommate (Kwon) and his college friends and yet he acted like a surprised child every time he did. It happened over and over and then he decided to bring WYW around his family, who he hadn't vetted? I get that the show wanted to show that you can have autism and still be in a romantic relationship, but if someone really cares about you, they should do the bare minimum and make sure you're going to be in a safe environment when they bring you around people in their lives. As it was, Jun ho's friends, family, and roommate were not welcoming people for WYW to be around and it bothered me that he was shown to be so thoughtful in so many other regards, but this was a blind spot for him.
- it did start to bother me that WYW's father and Jun ho really had no lives outside of WYW. On one hand, a change of pace as its usually female characters without the side missions. However, it made Jun ho seem to only exist to be in love with WYW and I actually felt really bad for her dad that he just... had nothing else going on. I thought he would have something with the CEO but he really did just sit in that shop cutting vegetables all day

So, overall, this was an enjoyable watch for me. However, I acknowledge that I'm not equipped to discern if the representation of autism was harmful and would render my enjoyment in consequential.

Coffee Prince is a one in a lifetime type of drama.

There are many dramas out there and though I haven't reviewed any of them or even added them to my profile on here, I have watched a lot of dramas.

This drama is in my top 10 list. All the characters are consistent, even when they show character growth. Most of the characters are loveable and the relationships in this show is top-tier (though I disliked the second cp, but that's just my own personal opinion). Even though I have only watched this show once so far, I can already tell this is going to be a comfort show for me. The journey of Eun Chan and Han Gyul is simply breathtaking to watch. The chemistry between the actors was something I cannot describe.

Though I wished that more people other than Ha Rim understood the mental plight that Han Gyul was going through as someone who also struggled with their sexuality, I loved the fact that everyone's reaction was essentially: You still love her and she loves you.

That's what the show is about. It's love in all forms. The princes' relationships with each other was heartwarming and the last episode when Eun Chan reunites with them had me cheesing the entire time. The relationship between parent & child, friend & friend, cousin & cousin, sibling & sibling, grand-child & grand-mother, everything was just wonderful.

I am so glad I took a chance on this show and I hope you do the same as well.

Good acting carries a seen before story.

You have probably seen this story before: young love torn apart by adults who disapprove of the relationship, leaving two people forever changed and pinning for each other for years. Until they are reunited and now they must decided if fight for their love and move on.

Story-wise, the script brings nothing new to the genre. There's the angst and pinning, unreasonable and manipulative parents, the flashbacks to happier days, the depressing present life of two adults who can't move from that time in their lives. Almost every decision made it's based on that brief time in when they were happy.

The first half of the drama we must meet the characters to understand their motivations and why they must heal first before contemplating whatever or not they want to be together. It's very frustrating. Particularly because of how manipulative leading lady's mother is. She has no absolutely no redeeming qualities and it's been a while since I wanted to strangled a fictional character so much.

The second part of the drama is less frustrating. Characters start to snap out of it and becoming far more proactive into trying to build the life they want for themselves, with the support of friends and peers.

Yang Yang and Wang Churan carry this drama with their performances. Their chemistry is off charts and they deliver a strong melodrama full of action, angst, personal trauma and romance, heightened by the life or death situations the leads find themselves in because of their field of work.

Overall, a solid story.

one of the best romantic comedy kdramas!

Sometimes we need clichéd dramas!
I highly recommend and would rewatch this work, THE BEST ROMANTIC COMEDY I HAVE EVER WATCHED.
The bar has been very high thanks to Sarang and Guwon, the upcoming rom-com characters will have a hard time surpassing them, they have raised the bar a lot!
Best couple, best chemistry, the love story at a cliché level that everyone likes, just perfect! I don't think I'll easily find a drama that makes me feel everything Guwon and Sarang did.
I loved it so much, note 10!

Jun Kyung had maybe two facial expressions throughout this whole show, but the absolute chokehold he had on me is actually crazy.
Other than his character making literally everyone love him, I thought this drama was fast paced and I was sucked in pretty quickly. There wasn't anything very substantial about it, but it was fun and easy to watch and I can't ask for much more than that.
Last little note, that scene during the fashion show when Jun Kyung is just staring at Ari? Yeah. Made me go insane.

Amazing!

I just finished season 2 and Y'ALL!! This took me through every human emotion possible watching THEM experience all the emotions they felt packed into 8 days. This show is amazing. One of the best, if not the best, reality TV shows I've ever watched. I want to start the season again and rewatch because I'm sure there are nuggets I missed because I binged watched it. I couldn't help it! Every episode made me hungry for the next one.
I adored this show and have so much respect for the production team that put it together. And can I give a double shot out for the music team that created the OST for this show! Wow!!! Much like our beautiful cast and all they went through, the song choices conveyed all the emotion stirred up in them and in us, the audience. Fantastic job!
