Some of the Best Character Development
9.5 stars! That's high for my standards.Warning: Spoilers in here will only spoil the first-second episode in the drama
Story:
-yes, it is a bit on the longer side, but I rarely skipped
-very good ending (one of the best I've watched)
-beautiful character development (for most characters, especially the villain)
-relationship between main leads was developed well. ml and fl really suit each other. Both've got their own strengths. Some people would call the fl (Zhu Yun) a doormat. I disagree. I believe she is what we would call "loyal to a fault". Our ml (Li Xun) has always been tricked, lied to, and betrayed all of his life, so he just pushed others away. The Zhu Yun suits him because she trusts Li Xun wholeheartedly and gains his trust as well.
-yes, they do get back together (after the initial break up) kinda late. But the pay off is soooooooo good, that you'd be to busy smiling to complain
-themes (like revenge) were clear and powerful
-a lot of dramas show how communication is very important in a relationship. This one showed it in a very sophisticated way
-dealt with a lot of harder topics
-found a good balance between heavy stuff and comedy relief
-I liked how they used jealousy to push the leads together. The fact that they barely used it made me happy because I'm sick of scheming 2ml and 2fls. Li Xun and Zhu Yun both had friends with the other gender that were purely platonic and I love that
small con:
-wish they had developed Li Lan (ml's sister) more.
Acting:
-the natural chemistry between the Zhang Jing Yi and Chen Fei Yu is amazing. I love Zhang Jing Yi and watched many of her shows, but never have I seen have so much chemistry with someone
-in general, everyone's acting was so beautiful, especially the main leads, but also it was just very well done
-the character's past self and present self had such a large difference (in the way they behaved, mannerisms, wisdom, maturity), that I'd really believe that they waited 7 years to then shoot the present. The outfits also made it obvious.
OST:
-the ost is pretty badass
-though, what really took the cake was the timings of each song. Like, they matched the scene so well each time, it was awesome
Rewatch:
-rewatching might be hard because there are some heavy themes, but still worth it
Anyway, what a good cdrama.
Note:
After reading some reviews, I have something to say. If we were to compare their love story to real life, yes there are a few red flags. Like, if I were Zhu Yun and Li Xun broke up with me, I'd leave him in my dust. But I have trust issues. Zhu Yun and I are completely different people. So, if we see the larger picture, the overall plot themes, and character arcs, you'll see that this is a really good drama.

Only SK could make me cry for a man...
*Sigh* How do I even start? At first I avoided Yumi Cell's like the plague because the premise didn't seem all that interesting to me but once I gave it a chance, the cells really got me. And then Yumi did. And then Wung.
Even as someone who could not imagine themselves with a man, their relationship got me giggling and kicking my feet until it didn't. I hated Bobby from day one. I hated how Wung seemed to change out of nowhere. I even started questioning whether they were ruining his character because of something to do with the actor.
But then I got it.
Yumi Cell's is annoyingly relatable: the characters will have you screaming, crying and throwing up and the trajectory of Yumi and Wung's relationship almost made me wanna drop the show. But then I realized that it all made perfect sense. They are both very human. The situations they get into are very real. And as much as I wanna believe everything could be perfect, that's just not reality, and Yumi Cell's makes one hell of a case for it (becoming the perfect mirror image of real life).

LIVE LAUGH LOVE NAMTANFILM
One of my favorite gls right now, I could really say that my expectations were surpassed when I started this series. It was so worth it waiting for saturdays to come to watch a new episode. I'm always fascinated by how well film (may) and namtan (ai-oon/oom) embodied each of their own characters. The plot is also interesting and fun. Moreover, I love the pimpangjan love triangle so much (I'm rooting for pangjan). I love the cast and namtanfilm's chemistry so I'm sooo excited for their projects in the future. Was this review helpful to you?
Must Watch
I found it very funny, entertaining, high quality and production , and absolutely fantastic performances by Dylan Wang. He was the highlight and super star for the drama. You can tell how relaxed, nature and smooth his acting was as the main male lead Xu Qi An. I found myself looking forward each day for the new episodes to be available on Tencent. The only complaint I have was they only released 2 new episodes for us to watch per day since the premiere. I can't wait to watch more episodes. Was this review helpful to you?
BTS are amazing Human being!
2!3! ARMY imnida. Back in BTS’s early, aka rookie, days, they were so cute and smol (small). The 3 hosts are super funny and respectful. When the Running Man member who had Jimin on his back said he felt Jimin's flesh and wanted to experience it again, I couldn't hold back! 🤣 It’s worth the first position. I am amazed by Tae's heel dance. Bangtan are so chaotic, and I absolutely love it.
I felt sad for the girl who chose someone else over J-Hope – man, you lost a gem! BTS, every member, ARMY loves and respects you. APOBANGPO!
Wonderful compilation, thank you.

Good revenge drama
I didn't drop it so it was good. Lol.ML is an absolute green flag and I like the actor. I am not a fan of the one who played FL so I focused on the story. Scenes are so dramatic but it kept me clicking the next episode. It got me hooked.
The villain sister did well in her acting. She is annoying af. The villain prince and villain sister have chemistry. The FL and ML, not so much.

cult classic
I think at this point, either everyone born in Asia has already watched this show or they will watch it at some point in their life! Watching this show is basically a rite of passage! An absolutely iconic classic, this show has started whole terminology and lifestyles. "Be like Oshin!" is a real threat and advice. So how do you rate a show which is more than the sum of its part, that has had generations of people grow up watching it that that they will swear by Oshin, she is like...your long lost impressive rich aunt that everyone in the family loves and will kill for.
Fun fact: did you know Japan intentionally exported this show to help reinvent its image after their imperialist ambitious came to an end?! Kind of puts a damper on the enjoyment of the show if you think of it as an intentional propaganda drama....so let's not! lmao! Oshin is too iconic to mess with and also the show is not at all in favor of the government so I don't see why I would punish it for the crimes of others.
The most impressive thing about this show is Oshin, herself. This character is insane. You will only get it once you finish watching this and try watching the other dramas of the same production company which are more or less imitating this show and you will realize that it wasn't because Japan is just unnaturally good at historical storytelling. Oshin is just iconic on her lonesome. This woman is beyond impressive. Her character is so meticulously designed and written that she genuinely feels like a real person but also so unnaturally perfect. She's like a real life version of a mythical creature! The second most impressive thing about this drama is how well it holds up almost 60 years later! The show just looks good. It doesn't look as perfect as modern drama, obviously but it is so well-made and it spans such a long and impressive era of time that you can't help but be impressed with what they pulled off. Shoutout to the make up artists who aged the characters, especially Oshin's mom because WTF??! Those make ups looked way too real! I still gotta laugh at how they probably hired a 45 year old man as a 20 yo just so they could keep the same actor for the next 60 years of plot! That was perhaps the most offensive act of the production team. lol
The plot...is infuriating. I have never felt such violent emotions towards a farmer, a feudal's wife, a fabric selling merchant, and a child...though the child in question is already a grown up man at this point... these characters, these situations are so unfair, irritating and just...so upsetting(?) that you will basically hate every character but Oshin. Gosh, they sure knew how to rage bait back in the day. We might be living in a hell where hit tweets by @fartsforlife are giving you migraine spirals but people in the 80s were getting those exact same headaches thanks to that devil-spawn mother-in-law of Oshin. So I guess that's how generations connect.
Just go watch this show. You will understand so many more Asian conversations once you know who Oshin is and why she is so beloved.

sweet love story
this is a sweet love story. there is very minimal to no conflict throughout the series. i like the chemistry between wu leo and zhao jin mai, but found the series to be a slow burn as it’s just sugary sweet most of the time. what is missing is spice 😄 but it’s quite a change watching a drama without any annoying characters. if you like idol romance drama, you should watch this. this drama is also full of eye candy. overall, it’s okay for me, but the no spice thing for me is rather boringWas this review helpful to you?

Romance is A Bonus, Second Half Mess is A Destiny
Marry My Husband. The title seems intimidating. At first, I was thinking that I may get a story full of intriguing and complex marriage. It isn't wrong though. However, the writer packs the story so well that makes it lightweight and easy to watch, yet not missing out the point. The lead Kang Ji-Won gets a second chance to fix his miserable marriage and life. Park Min-Young does a savage job in this role. She takes us into the journey of her second life. We already know the ending, and now she comes prepared. But everytime she does something, she always makes us guess: Will she cause a better outcome? Will the ending change? She brings us into this circle and makes us keep wanting to see the outcomes more and more. We keep wondering, will the villain suddenly regret? And the answer is always a no. Yi-Kyung and Ha-Yoon potray these villains excellently. They all seem innocent from the surface, but once an evil will always be and evil. It may need to take a life for people to change, but going through everything only make them more and more vicious. It is all a really enjoyable story... until the writer stupidly adds Yu-Ra in.The addition of Yu-Ra is no difference than hopelessly adding a serial killer to a romance story. The stories around her seem hyperbolic and unreasonable even in this kind of fantasy genre. The way she messes up with Su-Min's family does not make sense. Same thing with the threat to Eun-Ho. How does he come into her mind? Eun-Ho barely knows Ji-Hyuk! It is just like a hopeless premises that need to be added for the sake of episodes number. Like there is a straight road, but they decided to take a turn to an unpleasant gravelly path. This show might be better if they focus on the main goal and packed into 12 or 14 episodes.
The overall story is pretty good. Although I think Ji-Won should push Ji-Hyuk more to find out his goal. Because she knows that the reason she get the second chance is to get a revenge, so there must be a reason for Ji-Hyuk too. However, Ji-Hyuk always reluctants to discuss about it. And everytime that happens, Ji-Won annoyingly just gets over it easily. The story then hit by a hurricane, again, after Yu-Ra appears. Every character suddenly has a sixth sense, as they all know other people's secrets and what other people are planning.
On top of that, this is a really good show since it is kinda easy-to-watch. It tells us not to be blinded by other people try to sugarcoat everything in front of you. You need to be more cautious, take a step back, see clearly and look wider. When you feel betrayed, fight it. For me, this show is categorized under incorrect genre: it is more like a thriller. Romance? It is a bonus!

Must watch
It is a very strong story with a combination of strong cast. Since I try to not spoil anything in here, I go with a short review. The storyline is really good. The character development was amazing. It has a little bit of mysterious vibe at first which was solved very on time since it is not a mysterious genre and they didn't make it a boring story around a small mystery. The story line was very good all around. It has a strong bromance which was developed through the story and also team development between the characters was really good. The act of the two MLs was amazing. Very much complementary of each others. Both amazing actors. Also all of the side characters have their own stories which were developed so good. The acting of the majority of actors and actresses were really good, specially those older ones.
I recommend it highly to watch it and if you are into rewatch, it is even worthy of rewatching.

Well if that was the ending don't watch it. Because it was ended in the middle of nowhere. Not mentioning it has violence if you are prepared for it.

It really keeps you on the edge of your seat!
I really liked the plot - it was interesting and I looked forward to watching another episode and not once did I know what would happen next. I really felt thrills while watching. But the part I loved the most was the main actress. It was like she was made for that role. Overall all of the cast did such a good job and it was very pleasant to watch.
It might give you a headache but once everything clicks, you realize that it's really worth watching.
One of a very few dramas that I can rate 10/10.

I didn't expect to LOVE a drama with "horror" as genre.
I can easily say that i found this show POETIC.The first drama i completed this year (and technically the last thing i watched in 2024) and what a series !!
I didn't expect it to be that good (well with the cast in it it's clearly obvious but i'm not a huge fan of horror series/movies so i started it because i trust the cast especially Park Bo Young. I know that she always chooses good series so i followed her blindly)
The 2 first episodes were terrifying to me, i remember i couldn't even watch it at night lol (it shows how much i'm not a horror girl lol - I don't know if we can say that lol-)
But once they explained to us what was happening and what all this series was about OMG everything changed to me and i became clearly addicted !
I cried a lot, the actors played SO WELL. I loved how we followed each character in this show, their story, their feelings, their own path and journey to reach their final stop and how everything was well explained.
The meaning of the light shop and this dark alley. Those people who scared the hell out of me in the first episodes.
Okay, i better stop here. I thing I REALLY LOVED THIS SHOW.
If you too are not into horror series/movies but love stories related to death relationships moving on, just try this one. Don't drop the series because you'll understand everything in the middle of the story and you'll probably end up liking it like i did.
