Love/Hate relationship

This is badly written, poorly acted, and obnoxiously directed. AND YET, something pulled me in and wouldn't let go. Who watches an entire season of a show they nearly hate? This girl, right here. I have no idea why I can't rate this show higher or lower than I did. It's possible that this is one of those things that grows on you and gets better each time you watch it. Does that mean I might rewatch it later on? It is in fact possible. Can I tell you even one good thing about it? Well, Red is pretty hot. Some of the costumes are really sexy... That's all I've got 😂

Interesting idea, bad execution

Just watched lady and the gentleman, quit after ep 30, the show was really good in the beginning. ep 15 and down or around that area but once I reached ep 23 I was starting to get irritated with the show but I am not reviewing the show here because as awful as it is, I think the actors did good to a certain degree, might be biased to a certain degree but I just wanted to say Dan Dan was certainly one of my favorite characters just poorly written after a certain point, plus, the moment I saw her smile I was like "Damn, she is pretty but she will probably cry a lot." And low and behold I was not wrong basically after 20+ hours of watching the show I was like nah they shouldn't be together not because of all the outside voices telling them to be apart but simply because they are GROWN adults yet other people hold such power over their decisions the amount of pain they went through is just ridiculous honestly, at some point I'd like to think that any sane person would stand up and be like "Oi, come on now! Why does everyone feel the need to butt in? Keep your noses to yourselves!" Parents are one thing but toxic behavior is toxic behavior, they all kept hurting each other all the characters were in a race to hurt the others more and more, eventually that was what the show was about.

Don't get me wrong I don't have any malice towards the actors but the story itself and how it was written and displayed for the viewer to consume was just...for lack of a better word: BAD, I have personally decided to only watched KDramas with 16 episodes, no more and no less(maybe 25 episodes but that's the absolute limit) because once the story starts dragging on the plot falls apart because they have to now create more weird and unrealistic situations, just because the characters are saying and pointing out that they only see these things in movies and on TV does not give the writers the right to blatantly throw it in our faces multiple times , do you have any idea how many times I thought "YES! Finally, Dan and Lee are going strong!" And then they fall through because of peer pressure at first I assumed no I am not Korean so I do not understand the circumstances and how their culture works because I am obviously NOT Korean so perhaps they will solve this in an amicable manner(And plausible) but I was proven wrong multiple times, in fact, I even started watching another drama after I watched the fourth break up? (I don't even know how many times they broke up BECAUSE EVERYONE WAS DOING IT! It was a break up bargain sale!) Not sure but I know it was in Ep 30 then I came across a 16 episode Kdrama that did literally every SINGLE thing right so misunderstanding the culture was clearly not why I wasn't enjoying it,.

I have watched enough Kdramas to quell my own worry about my idea that I misunderstand Korean social cues like any other nations social cues but no it's almost like most of the characters created the mental block on their own and the adults who disagreed felt like they were put there to justify the reason why Dan and Lee were worried about revealing their relationship, I spent every night watching it hoping that it would work out but...I am currently typing on my second monitor while staring at my main monitor on EP 39 after I skipped three episodes .

Geez, I said it wouldn't be a review of the show but I couldn't stop myself from ranting about it! Because it HAD SO MUCH POTENTIAL! Personally Chairman Lee himself is pretty good looking for his age plus he has more than enough money to not worry about another child and Dan Dan's smile was captivating plus her innocence made me like her even more because her love felt pure which is why it sucked that her heart kept breaking every third episode, the show became more of a chore to watch which is why I am considering just skipping to the end and reading recaps of the episodes. I just feel like there was so much wasted potential, honestly there are LOT of parts in the show I had problems with but I think the actors did fine because I most certainly do not understand Korean but the actors didn't make me feel like damn that's some bad acting, no just bad writing because I will say Lee Se Ryeon was probably the cutest character around and not just because of her appearance simply because of her character she was adorable chasing after Park Dae Beom with such earnestness, the show might have been better off focusing on their love because the main love was all over the place if those characters were actual people (I mean their characters not the actors) they would honestly be living in hell. I think I have ranted enough even though I could break down every single thing that could have been done differently with all the relationships but I just won't because who wants to read a novel am I right? (I'm kidding by the way I am not that mean haha)

Regardless I have written a semi-poorly constructed review so I will probably post this on the actual shows review section, it's basically 4am cut me some slack I'm tired!

That was my ted talk thanks for reading.

Pat and Pran; The Definition of a Healthy Relationship

Pat and Pran communicate really well, their misunderstandings were cleared up quickly, they know how to make each other happy, and they are willing to comprimise. I couldn't have asked for a healthier couple. Despite the world being against them, they never lost sight of each other and the love that they share. Their relationship was portrayed naturally and flowed nicely. Ohm and Nanon did a wonderful job with the characters and their chemistry is insane. They even managed to make the goofy product placements funny/ interesting and less cringey.

I really appreciated the fact that this drama took some of the typical tropes and stereotypes and flipped them as well as the fact that it addressed taking care of the environment. The OST was also great; Nanon really is a talented singer.

The editing was a bit choppy sometimes, some of the side characters could have been fleshed out a bit more and one of the time jumps felt a little out of place. However, overall, this drama is super sweet, and I smiled throughout most of the episodes. Pat and Pran had such a beautiful relationship where they grew and pushed each other to be the best version of themselves. I highly recommend watching it.

Great acting by leads

I decided to write a review, my first, because there is not a single review of this drama.

The lead actors are great! The subtle acting by the wife is so touching. The male lead also made you angry for his stupidity but also makes you pity him for his mistakes.

The antagonist did have some nice acting but a lot made me so irritating I fast forwarded a lot of her crying scenes.

I was in ep 22 when I realized the plot was familiar. It reminded me of the movie Fatal attraction. So many same scenes, I.e. cutting of the wrist, going to the marital home, etc. However there is no mention that this is a remake.

It took me 4 days to finish this drama. Though it says 44 episodes, I only get to see 42 via Dramacool,

Second leads were nice to watch also.

I recommend this drama. As I’ve said, terrific acting by the cast.

What a beautiful story.

Now I will start by talking about the music and go from there. The music in this series was beautiful and fit the situation perfectly.

One thing I will say that I disliked about this is in the end that the brothers were different and when I say different I mean. That not many people noticed that Black wasn't himself. I also didn't like that no one knew what happened to Black. It was like it didn't matter.
Black handled stuff with an iron fist while White was gentle and wanted to get along and make sure no one got hurt. While it shows that Black will leave people behind if necessary.
I also didn't like that Gram got with Black's ex-girlfriend but not because of the story but because it felt kind of out of nowhere and forced if you ask me.
I was sad about the situation with Todd but then he did get what he deserved in the end.
Now I will get onto how I felt about Sean. I feel many emotions about Sean I feel sympathy, pity, irritation, and happiness in the end because he evoked so many emotions out of me. I think what Sean needed most was to know someone was there in it with him. That's what White gave him. Sean was also an amazing leader when needed but also had the majority of the dumb ideas.

Now I want to get to my main point which is about White and Black I swear you wouldn't even think they were acted by the same person considering how well they differentiate from each other. Black is cold, dismissive, and unattached a lot of the time. You can tell he cares but doesn't know how to show it. He pushed people away and keeps them at arm's distance because you can tell he doesn't want to be hurt. He is also a lot more aggressive than his brother. He doesn't value many in his life but his brother means the world to him.
As for White, he is gentle even the way he talks is softer. The way he approaches people makes them put their guard down around him. He is very loyal and caring. He often is the one getting hurt by his brother because of their link to each other but he always wants to be with his brother. If you ask me he sacrificed everything in his own life to be with his brother. He is not very sneaky compared to his brother which is funny. He also likes to stir up Sean which is funny.
But these two are like night and day. You could tell the two apart just simply by staring at the way they stand all the way to their personalities and how they treat people.

OVERALL: I would watch the show again simply because I love the characters and how they all treat each other.

This is another one I forgot to write a review but I did watch it twice so I had to watch it again. Now I know why I forgot to write a review. I couldn't express words for this drama because it had me so emotional and teary-eyed. I'm even having a hard time writing a review on it now. The storyline was great don't get me wrong. Seo In Guk who plays the character Kim Moo Young absolutely took this character to another level. I mean OMG, this actor loves to play villain roles and his eyes are perfect for that type of role. His eyes are beautiful and can be a dangerous weapon if you ask me. I research Seo In Guk, just letting y'all know his vocals are perfect. It seems like South Korea has the most beautiful voices in the world when it comes to singing. The talent there is just phenomenal. I am praying that if there is such a thing as being reborn... let me be reborn in South Korea. Jung So Min who played the character of Yoo Jin Kang, wow, I love this actress! She can play a strong woman role awesomely. I loved her in Alchemy of Souls. Park Sung Woong who played the character Yoo Jin Gook, OMG, I wanted to reach into my TV and just slap him in the back of his head. For that actor to stir my anger emotions high... he did a great job. As you see in how I rate this, there was a hiccup in the storyline but you will have to watch to see what I am talking about.

Thanking all of The Smile Has Left Your Eyes team for making this drama, I applaud you. I want to thank the screenwriters and producers for orphan children and the orphanage that takes care of them. Not all orphanages are bad but some are.

MUST WATCH!!!!

65 episodes and Im exhausted having binge-watched over a weekend. I was pratically laughing my head off in the first half and then bawling my head off in the second half. I loved the ML very much. He acted his emotional parts so well. He acted so well, I loved him in the first half, then hated him in the second half. I loved the 2nd ML throughout the whole show. So classy and charismatic. You asians have a beautiful style. Mind you, towards the end i sort of looked at him wondering hmmmm his dark side was quite frigtening. The FL lead was very good acting but I felt she didnt have the beauty and mature personality for three handsome men to be falling all over her. Her style of clothing really annoyed me. The men's wardrobe was unbelievbly lacking in where you saw most of the cast wearing the same suits, dresses , tees...etc throughout the series but hey, they are sopposed to be millionaires???

One major frustration I had was when searching for other series these acotrs have been in, there was bugger-all!!! They are new or supporting. Definately need to act in more series/movies.

Short but in a good way

The story although short was very realistic. I really like watching short dramas even though I know it also means that usually they are very fast paced and lack in the quality of the plot. In this one I happyly have to say that there was nothing like that. This is a realistic story without unnesesery additions, which is extremly uncommon in almost every TV series and movie nowadays.
It's light, the music is well fitted to the mood, and is very relaxing to watch.
Actors in my opinion did a fantastic job and didn't try to oversell their emotions.

My babies?‍??

First time leaving a review but this show was too good not too. Pond(Wang) in fact they all deserve all the awards in this world for this show.
The ending might not be for everyone but to me it was perfect the only person out of all of them who won in my opinion was WANG because he chose himself and decided to fight for his happiness
Inn such a relatable character for someone who had been in such a confined space for a long time it was really difficult for him to step out of his comfort zone so I’m not surprised with his actions but I think In his own way he deeply lived Wang

Wow!!! Masterpiece ❤️❤️

Most satisfying drama or series I have ever watched. First drama I ever gave an 10/10.

Just finished with Part 2.

I normally watch only Wuxia/Material Arts/Action focused shows. I also don´t like comedy and almost wouldn´t have watched it because of the silly trailer!
But OMG am I glad I did! Best character writing, directing and acting I have seen... maybe ever!
I really have never seen a Chinese drama with so much depth. The characters felt so real.
And the overall writing was also really good. After the two first episodes only a few more where a bit hard to get through (By comparison = most other Chinese dramas of this length would have been better with 10 or 20 episodes less - not so with this one!).
The humor at the beginning (first 3 or 4 episodes) was sometimes more annoying/exhausting than funny, but it develops a lot and in retrospect I wouldn´t change anything about it.

It really can´t be compared to any other dramas (Disclaimer: haven't watched The Story of Ming Lan) but if I had too: Nirvan In Fires story and character writing was similarly sophisticated. But while Nirvana in Fire (1) gave me chills with it´s political plot, Love LIke the Galaxy`s specialty are the beautiful sentimental moments, the character growth, the beautiful romantic scenes, the joyful momentsand yea the heartbreaking moments too. It´s one of the most realistic feeling historical shows, but unlike with The Red Sleeve it won`t leave you depressed!

Only slight con: The soundtracks for 2 or 3 scenes where weird and didn´t fit at all. + The translation on YouTube isn´t that great in the beginning and they muted and switched out a few soundtracks there, for copyright reasons. We only watched the first and last couple of episodes on YouTube but for the most part we watched on DramaNice.

P/s: First Asian drama I watched with my Mom and I couldn´t have picked a better one.

i have so much to say but don't really know how to say everything

This Drama was very very touching. I was so invested in the characters and at the end i hated wang's mom just because of the way she didn't accept her son's feelings for In. But how wang handled it was very brave and i cried my eyes out at the end when they left, thats also the reason why i won't rewatch this drama, and i really like this kind of drama but ngl i was hoping for a kiss.
And in general i would definitely recommend this to my friends, its worth watching, and i learned a lot during all those episode's.

Pfui

hässliches und lahmes Drama!!
Kara Mia is a 2019 Philippine television drama fantasy series broadcast by GMA Network. Directed by Dominic Zapata, it stars Barbie Forteza and Mika dela Cruz in the title role. It premiered on February 18, 2019 on the network's Telebabad line up replacing Cain at Abel. The series concluded on June 28, 2019 with a total of 92 episodes. It was replaced by Sahaya in its timeslot.
Kara Mia was the first restaurant I went post covid and during Ramadan. The place is very nice and clean and the servers were great. I didn't know this before going there, but during Ramadan they have their Ramadan menu and don't serve all the regular food they usually have. We ordered steak platters and chicken platters. Each of these options came with soup, salad or rice, pasta, and either two chicken breasts with two different sauces OR chicken and steak (both) as the meat. It was a lot of food! But they were willing to serve smaller portions when asked. I hope to go there again after Ramadan and try a few other things. Overall, it was a good experience and was happy to be there with the people I had with me.
Kara Mia is where we had catered for a wedding in the family in the past. At the time, we had a horrible experience (this was 6+ years ago), but at the same time, at the time, management was different and location was in Mississauga. From that one bad experience before, I said I'd never want to try Kara Mia again - but I changed my mind when I learned it was under new management (and has been for a few years now).

The owners are very welcoming, friendly and nice. Interiors are nice and comfy. Love the fact that they're following the covid protocol. From checking your temperature on arrival, to getting your info down for contract tracing, to placing shields between the tables & also offering booths.

The food was great and well seasoned. There are a lot of items to choose from on the menu, including kid-friendly items too. The only suggestion I would make is to have more variety in sauces offered, as I found sauces mainly offered were dishes with a saffron sauce. There was also rosĂŠ and Alfredo, but I would love to see some more.

Loved how cheesy the saffron poutine was. The steak was well done and chicken wasn't too dry which was great. The highlight for us was the breaded shrimp.

A Love That Runs Deep

The story was beautifully woven and well thought out. The main characters and the side characters were well developed and the chemistry between the characters was amazing. What I loved the most about this drama was the love between Orchid and Dongfang Qing Cang. It ran deep and was so pure and strong. You could feel how much they loved each other, from the little gestures and touches to the loving look in their eyes and the sacrifices they were willing to make for each other.

Dylan and Esther both did such an amazing job portraying their characters, especially Dylan. The way he portrayed Dongfang Qing Cang, you could see every emotion in his eyes and micro expressions, and he was absolute gold in the body swap episodes.

The costumes and the settings were beautifully designed. I love the contrast between the clothing of the Moon tribe vs Fairy Realm, and I also quite enjoyed the OST. There were a bit too many fade to black transitions between scenes which was a little jarring at times and people complained about Orchid's voice, although I actually found it quite fitting for her cute, bubbly character.

Overall, this drama is not without it flaws and could have used a bit more explanation in some areas, but it was definitely enjoyable and I highly recommend it.
