Potential Imbalance

An anti hero with a mafia background goes back to his homeland to retrieve the secret stash of gold buried there after the owner dies. There he encounters a series of unforeseen problems, gets dragged into a war against a conglomerate and learns that there are more secrets than he had been made aware of. It's a fantastic foundation to base a story on. We can see that it has deadly potential to give us one of the best dramas of the year. But sadly, that is what it remains- a foundation- which is why it feels more disappointing than the average series that failed to deliver.

The plot is pretty straight forward for a touted thriller- but the back and forth screenplay keeps the viewers guessing. If you've watched enough movies/dramas, you wouldn't find the plot unpredictable. There are the usual betrayals, the chases, the comebacks, the one-upmanship, the cat and mouse game and the intermediate comic relief. But there are also a lot of unnecessary scenes and half baked elements that were mixed in as well. It could be because they all were originally a part of the script or because they had to fill the entire stretch of 20 episodes with something. In other words, this is not a racy or nail biting thriller. Truthfully, this is more an action drama.

The writer-director duo tries to overcome the hurdle of "too many episodes with too little story" with humour and fall flat face first onto the ground. That they respectively worked on Chief Kim and The Crowned Clown is another example of wasted potential- they could have turned the tables and made this better at any point of time during the show! The slapstick comedy feels forced, dispensable and boring. They could have totally done away with them and placed some actual courtroom scenes, seeing that the series' main characters are lawyers. The glaring lack of court scenes is rather conspicuous. The action sequences are nothing new either. I wouldn't call any of the plot twists shocking - I saw them coming from a mile away. Barring the first three episodes, the first half is long and uninteresting and the finale ends up being meaningless in its attempt to be a "desperate-last resort" action. Also, why all the last minute gore and torture?

The beauty of Vincenzo is that it is engaging in spite of everything. It is visually pleasing even if a majority of the incidents happen in an old building that actually requires the redevelopment that it vehemently opposes. For all the right reasons, yes, but it needs to be mentioned. The story picks up in the second half and the show delivers then what it had been storing all along. It feels like a fresh breath of air to see the plot take the reins and run the show, to drive its characters into their respective positions and make them do what they were brought in to do. The characters feel more grounded, as if they are a part of the story rather than in the beginning when they felt out of place with visibly forced acting. This overall improvement is backed by some solid performances from all the actors, with Ok Taec Yeon and Kwak Dong Yeon standing out. I think if Vincenzo did one thing good, it is that it brought out the versatility of these two.

It took me a while to accept the chocolate boy looks of Song Joong Ki as a feared and ruthless Consigliere and I was never fully convinced he could do it. But he does it, and although he didn't look threatening at any point, it's more on the plot. He provides a lot of gravitas to the character of Vincenzo that even the script fails to provide, ironically. He was a treat to watch. Did I say his Italian is sexy?

Jeon Yeo Been emotes well. She shines in how accurately and excellently she portrays the antics of her character, right from the scene where she is introduced to us, without being over the top. In my opinion, we needed more of her extras and less of the unpalatable comedy that was thrust in our face. I was never sold on the chemistry between the leads but the romance is light, breezy, blink-and-miss and yet, good and adequate.

Kim Yeo Jin is brilliant as Choi Myung Hee in what is one of the few best written characters of the show. Kim Yoon Hye as Seo Mi Ri is another. Music and cinematography are the other plus points.

The major pitfall of the show is its imbalance in the construction and execution of the plot and the inconsistency in the characterisation. I got tired of how easily and quickly the residents of the plaza changed their stances. Hong Cha Young's fire and extras in the first three episodes vanish abruptly and she becomes yet another woman who needs rescuing towards the end. The character of Jang Han Seok was only saved from being a weakness that could drag the story down by Ok Taec Yeon's incredible work because he loses his spark midway as well. It's as if after his reveal as the Chairman of Babel he had no more cards left to play. All Han Seok did in the second half is just a response to Vincenzo's advances. Han Seung Hyuk was the most unstable of the lot and it was difficult to predict what he'd do next- in a way that's more irritating than it is exciting. This uncertain characterisation and a plot that doesn't tie up its lose ends (starting scene? Vincenzo's dreams? How did he get into Han Seok's house? Why did one of Myung Hee's lackeys return to her?) adding in comedy for fillers create a sense of imbalance. Several scenes and episodes feel disjointed. At times, the scene transition is not smooth and the music cuts off suddenly. It feels like a poorly patched up broken vase when the vase was never broken in the first place; just a little messy.

So would I watch it again? Probably not. Would I recommend it? Yes, the actors are amazing, go fall in love with them. Should you watch it? Yes, if a slightly wonky mafia story is your bowl of corn salad.

A brother is born for a time of adversity

There is a time test when you rewatch something you liked in the past and verify if you still like, the drama is a non survivor of my time test, even tho that's the first time I've watched it, the drama probably was hot when it aired in 2010, but the plot, OST, acting style all felt outdated. We even has a scene where the female creates courage to kill a chicken so to prove her lover for the guy. Money to get ride of the poor female lead etc.

Naive and bubbly HongGuo(Subbed as Red Summer Fruit) comes to big city with the desire to work in a fashion magazine Femina, in her way she meets FeiFan(subbed as Extraordinary) a "pro-labore" lawyer (defend rights of poor workers) summoned by his father to work in the same magazine. In the city she meets model & gold-digger Sasha, ruthless reporters LingJie and Wenxue, sad photographer shentian and Tenant Dehua(Fatty) who has a big apartment where everybody lives and support each other.

The drama has fair time screen sharing with the multiple couples and personal stories. HongGuo is the main focus, as we see her perceptions of this new world, but they smooth too much her story, a little more hardship and failing would've been better. One of the personal stories is about mourning, but it felt a cringe fest. The romance here is scatter and all over the place at the same time as we have many couples but all them are slow romance that starts with unrequited loves. Second leading couple was dreadful to watch, not found of nothing with them, he is an "oily" womanizer and she is the anger&snobbish type. The main couple took forever to get together, but they are kinda cute together, yes cute, that's the word for them(sry).

Overall the drama is not bad, as I said the time test was a fail, but if you feel like watching some old school drama, that's for you, most characters are likeable, the pace is good, except for the couples making, the OST is listenable, you have plenty of type of relationships too, such as the friendship bound.

School rom-com with a bit of action and bromance

First of all if you are looking for great fantasy actions this is not for you. From the title of the drama I thought this would be an action based drama but unfortunately even though there are some action scenes, they were not great and there weren't too much of them either. It's mostly drama and romance and bromance in a school setup.
The story and drama was good. The romance was cute and the bromance was interesting.
The story got draggy at the later half of the drama but the last few episodes picked up the pace with a satisfying ending.
Overall it was a unique drama and it was a slow but somewhat fun watch. If the pace was a bit faster it would have been a very fun to watch drama.

Halfway through, and not even the Duke's loving family can save this show for me

I came into this show knowing about the BIG misunderstanding (fake pregnancy) that the plot is contingent on. And that the FL is a liar, lol (see: name of drama). But after a super funny first 10 episodes, it got pretty tiring, pretty quick. At first I was a fan of the slow burn romance, but then there's a back-and-forth that goes on forever. While the actors individually are hilarious and sweet, I couldn't get into their relationship. Finally, I'm pretty much halfway through the drama and the plot (scheming bad guys/Lotus people, Song family relationship, familial relationship, etc) is going nowhere. I know I love my light-hearted romcom, but this one crawled at a meandering pace.

PROS
❀ FL is funny af | She's comedic gold and the actress did a great job in depicting the role. Her eidetic memory wasn't followed through on several times in the plot, but that's whatever. The FL is the epitome of naive and innocent, and her actions reflect that personality. Saying a lie to save herself was the best option at the time imo and she's quick to take action (even when the actions are silly).
❀ Wonderful families | Whether it's the duke's hearty laugh, the brothers' fun relationship (even while the second brother is second ML), or the adopted sisters of the art pavilion, this drama did an incredible job in depicting loving, supportive, loyal, hilarious families. The Duke was especially an easy to love character that made me smile!

CONS
✕ FL and ML both had faults that made it hard to root for them | For the FL, it was being too impulsive with her decisions that led to nonsensical things happening, and for the ML it was his inability to compromise. He basically coerces the FL to stay in the marriage with him after finding out about her lie (as a way to make up for it), even though the FL said she didn't want to. I guess you could call it "tough love" (because at this point he has feelings for her, he's just too shy to say it), but it didn't leave the FL with many options which was tough to see. I also saw a lot of ML saving FL moments, which I was just not in the mood for. The FL is hilarious and a tough cookie for sure, but I think her character's saving graces were underutilized.
✕ Too much girl on girl hate | In the first 10 episodes you see 3 different girls (NOT the FL) liking the ML. Like ---- why??? Lmao he's so cold. While the ML is depicted as a cold general, there's not much military stuff going on (compared to General's Lady) and his true personality is just stuffy, stuck up, and a stick in his ass. As he falls in love with the FL he opens up a bit but at the point where I dropped the drama, he hasn't confessed lmao, so I can't say any more about him. But I tolerated him despite his unlikable deeds because 1) the actor is quite handsome (yeh I'm superficial like that) and 2) the actING is done in a way where you find him endearing rather than tyrannical. So kudos to the actor lol. ANYWAY there's a childhood friend who's fighting for him (classic evil second FL), the Song family girl (naive/younger/immature girl), and the flashback of another girl who died, and also liked him. Like sheeeeesh give this dude a break. At one point it just kind of felt like a cat fight and I was over it.
✕ Misunderstanding level: 8/10 | I mean, this drama's main premise is literally BUILT on a misunderstanding, so be prepared when you start it. Other than that, there's the usual small things that happen but nothing too major for the couple, I think. The pregnancy scheme went on in the family for a while, even when the ML figures out the truth. I'm giving this a high misunderstanding score because of the inherent nature of the plot (the lie that just keeps spiraling), but it wasn't too annoying because at least it kept the story moving.

OVERALL
Yeahh... this one is light-hearted, but I'm not the watcher for it. The plot drags on the pregnancy plot (even when the FL confesses to the ML about it in ep 8, they keep the sham on for far too long imo) and nothing interesting was happening at the point where I stopped. I think this drama had good potential, but I wasn't sold on the romance and characters enough to keep going. Like in General's Lady, the FL gave shoujo anime MC-like energy and the drama itself felt like a 2010's kind of drama rather than something more,,, developed, when it comes to the FL and other female characters. Maybe give this one a watch for the hilarity and warm family, but that's pretty much it.

(Note: My rewatch value is set to 5.0 always as a default as I'm not the type to rewatch dramas EVER. Thus, I do not take it into account when calculating overall score.)

Chemistry is off the charts

This drama has a slow start. It’s still enjoyable but it doesn’t get 10 stars good until after episode 10 when the leads meet in real life. The chemistry is off the the charts. The kiss and love scenes are some of the best I have seen in a C-drama! This drama is up there with love o2o and you are my glory for best gaming related rom coms of all time. A healthy love story with communication and understanding is on display. There are so many laugh out loud moments!

I have a few minor complaints
The secondary male love interest was way too old for me to take him seriously. He’s a gorgeous man but he’s 50 years old while the female lead is in her early 20s … and he’s her superior in the music industry…. This just gave me bad vibes.

Next there is a depressed supporting character. Honestly i started fast forwarding through all her scenes.

Female lead that I ended up falling out of love with...

I initially liked the first 2 ep as it featured a cold and cliche general, funny and outgoing female lead, and lovable side characters (there's side couples EVERYWHERE. At least 4 by the point I dropped the series). I love the romance-centric theme of General's Lady and how the leads fall in love quickly and have great screen time together. BUT. It got a bit boring for me so I decided to read recaps of the rest of the episodes - lol.
Satisfying/sweet ending, but I don't think it was worth it to watch the last 10 or so episodes (especially since I was watching it in 2x speed).

PROS
❀ Sweetly/sickingly romantic | Like I said, there are side couples everywhere lol, and the main couple gets together pretty quickly. (The FL confesses in the first couple of episodes and the ML follows after another couple of episodes. Out of 30 episodes, they are officially a couple with reciprocating feelings in the first 10 episodes.) I liked this deeply romantic plot and how their love was emphasized throughout the story. BUT. At what cost?? (More on that in the CONS section)
❀ Pretty set and outfits | The visuals were aesthetically pleasing.
❀ Satisfying face-slapping | As the drama takes place a bit in the FL's family home, there are some cunning concubines/sisters she has to deal with. I loveee reading about family feuds and seeing the FL overcome abusive households, which happens in this drama. BUT I also feel like the abusers were let off a bit too nicely.

CONS
✕ The trade-off between romance and misunderstandings... | Okay, the thing about the romance is that you have obstacles to overcome romantic conflict, right? There's way too many for me in this drama to continue watching. Most of the conflicts arise from miscommunication/misunderstandings, and after reading recaps of the next episodes I saw it continued down the line. No thank you from this watcher.
✕ Wasn't feeling the 2 leads | I already wrote off the ML in the beginning because he literally has no personality, lol, other than being a military general and loving his wife, but I was super disappointed in the FL. The actress herself was hilarious and, imo, did the role well (she wasn't annoying in the beginning despite her antics), but I got tired of those machinations after 10+ episodes. She's not the brightest bulb, but she's also not dumb. She's just... there. In the beginning, she was quick-witted despite not having many skills and straightforward. As the pair fall in love, she starts scheming behind her husband's back (very inconsequential but also annoying things) and basically not contributing to anything. The bulk of the face-slapping with her own family was initiated by the ML (her plan with the new concubine was a small redemption). She just gave off very classic shoujo anime main character energy. The ML's character is hard to work with already, but the actor's stone-cold face didn't help. His lack of emotions was almost comical, and this stayed true to the end (as I ended up skipping to see the last episode). I mean yeah, he smiled sometimes, but I kinda need more than a couple of smiles to make me like the character... lol. He definitely becomes a devoted general husband, don't get me wrong, but his face didn't match his actions.
✕ Misunderstanding level: 7/10 | There weren't big misunderstandings in the grand scheme of the couple's love but it's still present. Even though the misunderstandings were about small things they were cringey and I had to skip through them. Chinese dramas really love to make use of the "innocuous yet grating for the sake of angst" situation, and this one was no different.

OVERALL
In essence, I had high expectations for General's Lady after the comical first couple of episodes, paired with my favorite tropes. (Tropes being: cold ML/heartwarming FL, FL gets married off to 'demonic' general instead of another girl (Beauty and the Beast energy), FL comes from mean family (Cinderella energy), etc.) BUT I should have known better, because along with those tropes came 2010 drama energy, where the girl is 80% of the time in need of getting saved, and the romantic plotline obliterates most of the characters' common sense. Which is fine! But hun, this was aired in 2020 and at this point of my life I'm ready for better romcoms than what we've had for the past 10 years.

(Note: My rewatch value is set to 5.0 always as a default as I'm not the type to rewatch dramas EVER. Thus, I do not take it into account when calculating overall score.)

Each episodes of this drama gave me simple joys ..

Was a great show. I need Season 2.
Didn't even notice how fast this ends. I keep on wanting for more.

At first I feel like Lu Jing seem to be full of himself for wanting to be with Liang Chen. But, that's how you get a girl. Be full of yourself, be confident, be you and be sincere. After watching this, I feel like wanting a younger bf. Hahaha.

Anyway, it's not all good. There are few unrealistic and realistic scenes. First few episodes are full of coincidences and makes it look like destiny is trying to toy with the leads which make it more exciting.

Give it a try. It's like a sweet candy. Their relationship made me jealous. Lu Jing is so cute. ?

Cute in the first half.

I actually really liked this in the beginning. I skipped some scenes with the FL and her bubbly personality because it was just cringey to me. Her relationship with her friend, Tang Xu made me sad because I didn't want him to be in love with her, for once couldn't we just have an older brother character who treated the FL like family and didn't turn into a love interest? And then they had to make him turn evil (kinda) around episode 25-26? When the story shifted focus from the couple to work issues and put them against each other. I skipped most of that episode, because I just felt really sorry for him. I was happy to see him talking to the FL normally later, and even talking to her aunt who apparently hated him, and I thought he'd have a hapy ending, but they ruined it still. As for Xu Cheng Ran, I had so many issues with this kid, the only part I liked about him was his friendship with Gu Chuan and how he genuinely cared for his friend and was always there for him. I won't say anything about how he treated his dad, because the old man was an ass, but the way he treated Tang Xu always irritated me. (The way Tang treated his own dad for most of their time together also pissed me off.)

I loved Ren Allen in this. After watching Destiny of White Snake I was looking for something new to watch when clips of this show appeared in my recommendeds on youtube. I didn't immediately recognize him with his hair down, but he did instantly make me think of Levi Ackerman, one of my favorite anime characters ever, so for that alone I knew I'd be watching this show. Gu Chuan, even when he acts cold, was very cute to me. The sad parts made me sad, but watching how the FL slowly thawed him out made me smile. Seeing how ready he was to smile for her always made me giddy.

Like I can tell they didn't have any actual kisses on screen, but it still made me blush and giggle every time they looked at each other. I've seen complaints from other comments about the lack of chemistry between them, but as someone that could read hundreds of chapters of nothing but fluff (only the best kind of fluff) I don't need to see characters trying to eat each other's lips or stripping each other on screen to think they have good chemistry. They made me feel shy with nothing but looks and soft touches, and that for me makes really amazing chemistry. I loved them together, felt sad when he decided to push her away for her own good, and I hate that the FL could only develop after he pushed her away. For most of the drama, she kept the same hairstyle and awkward clothing style, acted kinda bubbly and childish, until they broke up, then she looked more mature. But she was 23 already so was there a reason she had to dress up and act like she was 13 for most of the story?

The best part of this show was the music. I'm going to find all the songs in the OST because they were beautiful and complemented the story well.

What I did NOT like was that final episode. The resolution they chose was terrible. Honestly, I was only invested in this for the leads (or just for Gu Chuan) so I skipped a lot. From episode 26, there was a lot that was skippable, so I don't remember much in the last ten episodes of the story, but how they decided to resolve everything moved way too quickly. They literally included a kidnapping plot and the resolution with the ML's heart in the final episode, also unmasking and arresting the villain (and I hope Tang Xu somehow got out of that because I still felt sorry for him by the end of the story, that kid needed someone protecting HIM. Someone write a fanfic about that, please.) Too much happened in that episode, and it ends with the FL narrating the aftermath so we're not left in the dark. Considering the draggy part in the middle of the story, where they sacrificed the fluff, they could have done it better.

Notice how I didn't talk much about the second leads? They had some cute moments but I didn't really like their storyline so essentially skipped over them after the first few episodes.

Overall, I'd give it a much lower rating if I didn't love Gu Chuan so much.

Fabulous-worth the watch

I came across this drama by accident, this is my first ever C Drama ---- I had previously watched the Korean version. Frankly, I preferred the C- Drama version much much more. The story twists brought in this C- drama was much better than the K version. Dao Ming Si (Dylan W) & Shan Cai (Shen Yue)- the lead pair is absolutely adorable, just epic, one of my all time favourite couple...the looks Dao Ming Si gives her, his character comes as a very confident, passionate, fiery yet so innocent (like a man-child), both of them gave an excellent performances.

This drama had everything romance, love, angst, trust, friendship separation, sacrifice - all elements were there in exact right amount... F4 (Dylan Wang, Darren Chen, Ceaser Wu & Leon Leong) was so cool, all them gave wonderful & memorable performances- wouldn't mind having them at my Uni.

I specially liked Hua Zai Lei's (Darren Chen) character - calm, caring, composed yet intense. Its hard to actually determine whether he genuinely liked Shen Cai and gave her up for Dao Ming Si, at some points I felt like that - he certainly is Shen Cai's guardian angel, always there for her. His story too remained unfinished.

Ceaser Wu's character Xi Men was so suave and sophisticated - wouldn't have minded a bit more screen time on his love story. Leon Leong's character Mei Zuo was ever so charming and delightful too bad the one he fell in love left him and he was all alone (during the meteor shower) at the new year...

This is a great watch, would highly recommend.

Of reeds that bend but do not break.

No spoilers. Proceed safely. There trigger warnings listed at the end of the review which might be helpful for potential viewers.

❝All God's creatures grope their way around for love.❞

Garasu no Ashi is the story of our protagonist Setsuko; it follows the developing events post the death of her husband Koda. While giving us glimpses into her childhood where she was a victim of eregious child abuse, it shows us the present where Setsuko is approached by another victim, a second grade girl Mayumi. Setsuko decides to save the mother and child from her own fate.

❝In the wetlands where the frigid reeds of glass stand,
the sand trickles smoothly down the abyss.❞

“Garasu no Ashi” literally translates to “Reeds of Glass.” Perhaps it was influenced by the old fable of ‘The Oak and The Reeds.’ Setsuko is likened to reeds, which bend but do not break. She is doubtlessly one of the strongest protagonists I have met as of yet and her character and its portrayal by Aibu Saki has deeply impressed me. She is an unconventional morally grey protagonist, strong and sharp like reeds of glass.

❝You can never truly know a person.❞

Like other wowow doramas, Garasu no Ashi is a dark story. It has explicit portrayal of child abuse and domestic violence. And yet this is such a beautiful story of life. In the beginning the story seems to have multiple threads which don't go anywhere; Koda-san’s suicide, the unplanned death, the affair and the appearance of the child but in the end all the threads are tied up in a cohesive storyline.

Garasu no Ashi combines a teal and beige cinematography and artistic shots of nature in its various shades and tones to bring out the emotions that it is trying to portray. The soundtrack is a crescendo of emotions which had my heart racing.

Regarding the domestic violence in Garasu no Ashi, there is explicit portrayal of child abuse and intimate partner violence. There are appalling bruises on a younger Setsuko and Mayumi’s bodies including cigarette burns and horrific bruises which are also observed on Mayumi’s mother. Graphic reference to sexual abuse and other sexual content. Viewers should be cautioned against these.

Garasu no Ashi has a thrillingly paced solid storyline, brimming with raw emotions. A beautiful watch. I'm glad I watched this. 9.0/10.

Pretty good for 2/3 of the drama then went downhill until the swerve.

1/ STORY:

A young hacker and a rogue police inspector meet by chance when dealing with a ring of illegal gambling. Things turn bad and they part ways but they are reunited later as student and teacher in the KNPU (Korea National Police University). From there they start a collaboration to stop the criminals from the ring hidden in the university.

The thriller starts interestingly. The drama manages to present a suspenseful tracking of the bad guys and it is difficult to identify the suspect among the different characters. The duo works well on the field and emotionally. It's like a buddy cop movie. The team of two is growing bigger as young Sun Ho befriends some comrades and they help him and inspector Yoo Dong Man and other professors give contributions.

There is a romance part. ML and FL are good-looking in uniform and their romance is told in a cute and unexpected way.

After 2/3 of the eps, things get serious as the dominoes start falling. And this is when the drama goes downhill. The drama puts misery on the ML and his professor and spins 5 episodes around the question of who the ultimate boss is. The final revelation of his identity and why he did what he did is ridiculous. The drama ends with a lesson of moral as the ML punishes himself out of a misplaced need to obey the Law when the society asked nothing from him about his mistake. If he wanted to pay, all he needed to is donate the money, take down the illegal website, become a cop asap and do the right thing. Why inflict himself a dumb punishment to make him loose two years of his life. Really an immature thing to do which spoiled the ending. When everyone was cheering during graduation, he was like an idiot.

2/ CHARACTERS:
- Yoo Dong Man : loud and annoying sometimes but has his own dedication and ethic regarding his job that are not so bad.
- Kang Sun Ho: useful skills as hacker but I found him a bit bland and saying sorry too many times. His decision to punish himself in the end was respectable but the way he did it was plain stupid.
- Oh Kang Hee : Pretty useless apart from that intervention in the shooting range. She was there mainly for the romance.
- Park Min Kyu: Annoying love rival who still has a happy ending.
- Two goofy friends: nice friendship and rivals in love with a funny ending
- Judo professor : I liked her. She looked both a fun person with a sad past and a suspect of crime.
- Law professor : From suspect to buddy.
- Professor Seo: Boss of KNPU and benevolent guy with a too human side
- Park Cheol Jin : Good guy, good cop who lost his way.

3/ OST:
Nothing special. Adapted to the cop genre.

4/REWATCH VALUE:
Nothing sparkling and fun enough to make it rewatchable.

5/ OVERALL.:
Started well but ended disappointing. The last episode was crap. 7/10. You won't miss anything by passing this one.

Must Watch

I'm so glad I stumbled upon this drama on NF. The music is great. The casts are perfect. The acting is perfect as well.. I also understood why Se Hee did robotic-like actions. It bothered me at first, but I quickly grasped why he's like that. I hate slow acting, but I felt that this drama made me love its pace. Defnitely slow burn.

Regarding the story, I loved how everything was chill, and funny and well thought-of. I was only slightly disappointed regarding the ending. I thought hmm, maybe they just wanted to satisfy the readers of a happy ending. I even thought Ji Ho as a manipulative b hahaha I really said that out loud, but I was still happy for the two. Also, horang and the guy, I already set my mind that they will stay apart. But then, I realised. well, these alternate endings are okay too. I guess, they just want the viewers happy. It still gave me some things to think about that even though a couple has been together for so long, there will still be problems due to different beliefs and dreams and Im glad I watched this as I got to know these things.

Overall, I think that it's such a great drama that I'd watch when Im older again. Maybe I'll have a better understanding of what was said on the drama or the outcomes of the different decisions made. i am just glad I got to watch this.

Stupid, childish and irritating

It’s the type of drama that gives you lots of ANGST!! Lol... that’s why I never bothered watching You are my Destiny, although it had such good ratings. This has the same storyline and concept. ML CEO is the bullying and belittling type, actually likes the FL but don’t know how to admit nor express his feelings. Ex- girlfriend comes along and stirs up trouble etc, the leads separate and then in the end come back together.

The actress who plays the ex Li Man is the same actress that plays another bitchy character in Perfect and Casual. Seriously she should do other roles, cos she doesn’t want to be stuck with this kind of stigma roles!

Disappointed with this one. Wouldn’t recommend this.

Adorable short and sweet story

Just when I thought I will have to give up I click on this very cute short film and fall in love... -no I am starved for more or less anything that has lesbian representation. This short film manages to show development, depth, thoughtfulness awkwardness, inequality in 9 short minutes. Do you like me like me or are we "just" platonic friends.

The 9 stars rating is based on what they manged to convey in these 9 short minutes and goes also for the chemistry between these two adorable young women. I also enjoyed the product placement here it made me laugh.
