Loved: Tanimura Mitsuki gives an excellent performance as Keito - the awkwardness and embarrassment of her character is conveyed well. Kurokawa Tomoka also does a good job as Keito's Lolita friend Momiji (although I think she looks too old for the role). The ending feels complete and is a natural progression of the story.

Didn't Love: I was disappointed the dorama wasn't as true to the manga it is based on as it could've been (they seem to have combined two characters into one and introduced a completely new one). Also, the ramifications of Keito's traumatic experience as a child aren't conveyed as well as they were in the manga. Similarly, the friendship/rivalry between Keito and Nako doesn't come across as complexly as it should. The cliché of a jealous, selfish rival is not new and adds little to the dorama.

Despite not living up to my initial expectations (those who haven't read the manga will probably enjoy the dorama more than those who have), Cat Street still manages to capture the original feeling of genuine friendship between the main characters. It can be a bit slow at times, has little comedy and a distinct lack of eye-candy - it's best suited to the serious viewer interested in the exploration of the complex feelings of the human heart.

Students proving they’re not JUST children!

Love the plot!
At first it seems like it’s just a typical university romance with a bit mystery. As the story goes, there are a lot more to it.

The actors did really great. Kang Daniel is so charming. Chae Soo bin is really good with RomComs. The other casts are also charismatic and I love their friendship.

It’s a good watch. Good for binge watching! I binge watch it on the weekend and waited for the last 2 episodes. It was absorbing and enjoyable. Although not so realistic for Students to do such things but what would I know I'm not a KNPU student. Hehe

Most remarkable episode for me is Ep. 15, I am crying the entire episode. I feel like it’s so unfair and I am heart broken. I feel that I also lost a friend.

The ending was great. Justice is served! Although we know there are a lot more people needed to be punished. But that would take another series, I guess. Overall- 8/10.

This drama was interesting and  thoroughly enjoyable as it covered or at least touched on many aspects ( or what I think are aspects ><) of the showbiz world:
- acting in evil roles
- seemingly "R rated" contents (and how it affects the image of the actor/actress)
- mascot entertainment
- hosting
- goth
- MV
- opera
- singing
- period drama
- 1900s drama...

Even though  the romance in this show is a little slow, draggy ... not the most *feelsss* i think it takes a modern and realistic approach. However, the content is definitely worth watching it for
*satisfied my drama appetite *(*¯v¯*)

As much as I would love to compare this to the Kdrama Something in the Rain, because of the similar storylines and the same actors, I will try to do that very minimal. I had very high hopes for this, but it all started going downhill very fast. The story was mediocre, and got even more destroyed as the main couple did not have any chemistry in my opinion. The lead actor was as charming as always, which I loved, but none of the other characters. Jung In mom's character also surprised me, as she steered away from the typical Korean mom image. The cinematography was amazing (explains, why it is a Netflix Kdrama), the English soundtrack was charming. There's plenty of other mature romance shows, I would even recommend Something in the Rain instead of this. One Spring Night did not amaze me, and I do not think it is worth anyone's time, maybe just for a light watch.

Revenge for whom

After stellar reviews, jumped to test the waters. Well, this was mediocre revenge story more glamour camera for the FL since her acting is blerg.
Story: death, cheating humans, death, rebirth, angst galore, vexing grandpa, mysterious aide - nothing new in kdrama world.
Acting: FL & ML were muted angst filled humans, providing little development of character for 30+yo, supporting actors offered character & insight. Strongest actor was the SFL who portrayed a deeply troubled mental paragon. This female actor was far more compelling & interesting compared to the FL.
Music: nothing memorable
Overall: watch if you love the FL or SFL. This should have been a 12eps drama. The stretch of 4eps was another example that viewers are given mediocrity so drama overloads can make more $.

This series was made in 1982 and is 59 episodes long. 38 years on, many people will consider this series a classic still. It didn't follow the novel closely and they added plenty of extra bits. But the cast, music, and acting was pretty awesome and stands the test of time. Most people will focus on Barbara Yung as Wong Yung. Her acting in the lead role has yet to be beaten to date. She then tragically died many years later and hence became immortalized and this was by far her best acting in a drama series. Then there's the handsome Michael Miu as Yeung Hong. Honestly, no one has come close to pulling off Yeung Hong since Michael Miu played the role. Then there's Felix Wong as Kwok Jing played to perfection. Sharon Yeung as Muk Nim-chi. The four leads were pretty strong. The supporting cast was also fantastic. There's no special effects or breath taking views in the 1980's dramas. So they had to rely on superior acting and wonderful story telling to draw the audience in. I've watched the series since I was a kid. So I regularly pull it out and watch now and again. There's always something lacking in the remakes I found.

A must must watch!!!

I would just say give it to go and you won’t regret. It’s the BEST SHOW with each and every episode being so entertaining. The script writing is so good. There is not even a single episode where I felt it’s getting boring or it’s being dragged. IT’S ENTERTAINING AND IT’S THE BEST.
This show has been a 10/10 since the first episode released.

Ps- while watching the first few episodes, you will feel some hared or you won’t like FL. But DON’T DROP it. There will be a character development of her. Something happened with her father and that’s why she can’t trust her colleague that much, but later on she will trust him and y’all will literally like their chemistry and interactions.

A really under-rated masterpiece of an j-drama so far in 2022

So I am a late to this series I admit, I pretty much binge watched all 9 episodes based on a clip from episode 8 .

I pretty much have regrets that I did'nt come across this drama series ealier and was watching this drama series weekly rather than binge watching all 9 episodes in one go. Then I just watched episode 10 today.

But in the end I am glad I've watched this drama series, so far this is my favourite drama of the year so far no joke.

I'll try NOT to spoil this drama series but if I give a general basis I'll try.

Story: Double follows the daily life of two actors Takara and Yujin. Both of these two actors have an odd relationship as they live together and act along side each other as well as Yujin being like a manager/caketaker for Takara because he believes Takara has an natural talent to act. The story really begins when an entertainment agency is interested in signing Takara up to be a part of their agency.

Characters: Takara and Yujin are both complex characters, their relationship is complex. I can't even begin to describe their relationship to each other. The drama focus more on the mental state of Takara rather than Yujin. But watching this drama you will want to know more about them and why they decide on their decisions.

Acting: This is so far the BEST I've seen Chiba Yudai act, I've seen Chiba in Ossan's love season 2. But Chiba's version of Takara is just amazing to watch. This would be the 1st time I've seen Nagayama Kento act in a drama but he seriously impressed me. Kento acted like two different character the normal Yujin and the fake Yujin Takara sees, both amazing to watch as well.

Directing: This director is promising and I see a bright future ahead of him, the lighting and directing makes Double feel down to earth, indie feeling and almost like a documentary.

Music: I love the OST done by Yuji Iwamoto, the main theme really builds up and swells emotions inside for myself. It creates the right atomosphere for the scene. I also like that there's no vocal theme songs needed for this drama series at all, all is needed is a good OST. Minimal is sometimes the best.

Negatives: Maybe, this series is sometimes paced out wayy too slowly. There is also unresolved tension between Takara and Yujin but I think this is not a bad thing as the manga would in the end deicides how the story ends.

Overall: Double is an amazing drama, it really explores the mental state and what actors in general do in their lifes. It may not be for everyone. But when I watched it, I felt changed like I understand the feelings of actors and what they go through.

Watching the Blood of Youth is like running a marathon.

TDLR: The first half of the show is very fun and interesting, however the second half becomes too political and loses the adventurous charm. Overall a decent show, however minus points because of the low screentimes of more interesting characters and dragging relationships.

Non-Spoiler:
And the beginning, the race was exhilerating. I watched episode after episode as they came out. But sometime after the main characters went to Tianqi, the drama began to drag out and I skipped or sped through large portions in order to find out what happens at the end.

To start off with, the story is not bad. The plot is very interesting and the motivations of everyone is complex. The problem is that the first half of the show is adventure based, where the main characters travel to fight different people and discover their newfound power. Hence, the blood of youth. This half of the drama is very fun, getting to know the characters and their powers is a charm of this part of the show. My favorite moments have to be the characters meeting Wushuang and Lei Wujie going up the tower to become a disciple. When the characters went to Tianqi, this adventurous arc for them was cut short and instead the story became about the next Emperor. The problem with this change in setting is that Xiao Se gives away his true intentions and who the Emperor will be by saying what he and his brother's chose when asked what type of Emperor they would be. Because of this, a lot of the scenes that were about the Red Prince or the Second Prince went over my head.

Spoiler:
As for the characters:
~ Xiao Se started off as a funny character during the adventurous phase. His cunning side came out a lot and often times would be in the background, making sarcastic jabs at Lei Wujie. During the second part of the plot, his character became more bland and I felt as though Li Hongyi made the character flat as cardboard in the emotions department. This especially is true during more emotional scenes or ones with Qianluo. I read a few chapters from the novel and found myself surprised at how animated the Xiao Se in the novel came off as. I personally would have preferred a more forward actor for Xiao Se, but there were some fun moments like him running away from Qianluo or bragging about the worth of his sleeves.
~ Wuxin was very funny and the actor was ever so charismatic. I have zero complaints about the actor, but I was very sad that he did not have much screen time during the plot when the characters were in Tianqi. His character was basically used as plot armor so that Xiao Se, Wujie, Qianluo, and Rouyi could stay alive during difficult times.
~ Lei Wujie was a consistent character who stayed humorous and brazen even during difficult battles in the latter half of the show. I thought the actor did well and definitely felt the character grow on me as the story went on. His relationship with Rouyi did not have any chemistry just like Xiao Se and Qianluo, in my opinion, however it made more sense and was cute when responding to her.
~ Rouyi was an interesting addition, at first I felt as though it was a little weird for her to be in the story as a strategist instead of one of the pillars, but she grew on me as time went on in the story. I definitely think it is such a shame we couldn't see more of her power, the use of leaves in the CGI was so pretty.
~ Qianluo was a very likeable character for me, I feel like this is an unpopular opinion though. She definitely comes off as childish in the beginning, but in Tianqi she shows her resilience and seriousness when it comes to her position as the Vermillion Bird. I find that the writers did not give her many extravagant fighting scenes which was a bit sad, even Rouyi had the scene with the dance with Wujie.
~ Tang Lian was probably the most likeable character and by the time I came to realize that, he passed away. I have seen the small special ending clip, but it did not make enough reparations for me. I definitely think it was cruel how the most powerful of the Four Pillars ended up dying first, because the fights that come after his death are lackluster.
~ My personal favorite characters who weren't part of the main line up was Wushuang and his box of swords, truly he was given some of the best lines and scenes. I really liked the disciple and Fairy Luoxia, the hint that they would probably be endgame was everything to me. I also really liked the Huajin and her rich disciple.

My notes so far may seem pessimistic, but I still did tune into every episode even if I skipped quite a bit later on. A lot of the characters are worth meeting such as Tang Lian, Wuxin, Wushuang, Huajin, and many others that make up the supporting cast of the show. Also the general production felt very high, great styling for the most part with grand background sets. The CGI is among the best, I never skipped a fight sequence due to the intricacy of the fighting scenes. Overall, 7.0/10 which indicates that it is a great show that loses steam as it goes on.

Things that I really want to see in a movies or series are: looks, chemistry, acting, and storyline.

LOOKS: Mix Sahaphap Wongratch (Tian) He is cute and very perfect for the role.
Earth Pirapat Watthanasetsiri (Phupha) He is very handsome, nice body built, perfect to be a man in uniform and
when he smiles your heart will melt.

CHEMISTRY: Their chemistry is not so romantic for me. (Just my opinion)

ACTING: When it comes to their acting, both of them did a good job in their respective roles. I can really say that they gave justice to it.

STORYLINE: This is quite interesting because the set-up of the story is not common with most BL's that always happened in universities. This one really spice up the setting environment of the story. They are showing that a person can be happy with what are the things that they have as long as we are contented of it. The story teaches us that we must have to accept the things that we have. Living a simple life can make you happy as long as you know how to deal with it. Always put positivity in it.

If you are looking for a drama to binge-watch before going back to exam/ work-stress life, go spend your precious time in other dramas instead. Went in with high hopes cuz everyone was talking about how good it was but nope

story:
plot was original and i like the whole concept of this goblin and grim reaper + cinematography was amazing ngl. However. the pacing was too slow for my liking. One scene of Eun Tak looking at the leaves can take about 3 minutes and the age gap between the leads was disturbing (idk abt the rest but def was disturbing to me). Halfway through the drama, i just skipped through the love line of the main leads because it was lengthy and boring and instead, was more interested in the second lead love line - which indeed was loved by many more and they even got their own drama afterwards. Overall, concept is good and unique, but pacing was too slow and there were many small problems in between.

cast: needless to say, cast was amazing in acting. I especially liked SungJae's and Dongwook's acting.

Music: gotta give credit to the music, very suited for the drama and vibes haha

Overall, something i wouldnt want to rewatch again because its too slow and boring for my liking.

Must watch both Royal Nirvana and Royal Nirvana Special! It's just A. M.A. Z.I. N.G!

I do love watching a heavy political C-drama. Thank God I have decided to watch this! Royal Nirvana (60 eps) and Royal Nirvana Special (12 eps) combined is one of the best political C-Drama ever! It's an exciting rollercoaster! The male and female leads do deserve the best actor and actress award! All out tremendous acting from both, Luo Jin (the sociopath Crown Prince) and Li Yitong (the gracefullly beautiful, smart gentle heroine Lu WenXi). Wicked storyline and plots, epic production and beautiful cinematography supported by great music, casts and acting! The conflicts in this drama was sadistic but the romance was romantically hot! The shadow of Luo Jin and Li Yitong's romantic moments behind the screening was astonishingly beautiful and intellectually romantic. Moreover, the catepillar kiss and 3 years longing kiss are def the best kissing scene in all C-dramas I have ever watched! It's just A. M. A. Z. I. N. G!

I'm not afraid & I don't regret-Tong Yao

just finished watching everything and overall, I think this drama is really well done. Not perfect but for someone who didn't really play game like me, I enjoyed watching the e-sport theme(my first e-sport drama) and it didn't give me any bad light at all about e-sport. I appreciated the players' dream more now. The CGI was well done, they took 8 months to finish it.
I LOVE the chemistry of Xu Kai and Cheng Xiao! I definitely want to see them acting together again, maybe a wuxia drama since they both really have good physique imo or another modern drama would be great. I even think they look alike at times, if Tong Yao had black hair in the drama, they will look even more alike imo I think that's why I love the chemistry, their visuals really compliment each other very well, the perfect height difference too. I found their sweet scenes quite natural most of the times and damn all those kisses, one of the most satisfying skinship I had ever watched on screen😆
Overall, very worth watching and congratulations to people who discovered this drama after it finished airing, you guys don't have to wait for new episodes like us, we suffered enough😅
Shout out to whole ZGDX team, YQCB, CK, FNC etc I will miss you guys, my eye candies...blessing to my eyes. It will take some time to move on, I'm at the phase of watching YT videos of TY/LSC moments, withdrawal syndrom at its best.

ONE BORING DRAMA..

First of all, I like Allen Ren and Bai Lu, I was super excited at first knowing they both would be in not only 1 but 2 dramas together. I can't help comparing Allen Ren with Seven Tan (Under the Power) which more lively dynamic duo than with Bai Lu. I can only blame it to the writer who created such a boring characters of MLs, one was quiet principled man and the other was a mute girl, when she got to talk she turn in to a shy modest high born lady, none of them has cheerful and happy demeanor so the drama painfully gloomy unrequited love story. Allen Ren is sweet and gentle man - for this drama's character though he's a bore as he supposedly a battle-harden General - bit older and mature but unfortunately he appeared more like a YOUNG reserve man devotedly in love. In my opinion, a General like Chen Kun, Luo Jin or Huang Xiao Ming or someone looking mature was actually a better fit as General. When Bai Lu character was young, Allen Ren character has already a matured respectful General, but Bai Lu character grown up - Allen Ren wasn't aged like there wasn't hardship this general face while wars he's been in that could harden any man's heart, body and life. Too much romanticism of soldiers...

Although they're really closed and cared for each other, their eyes lock in desperation but they did not utter a single word on feeling. The relationship between teacher and student was maintained, the courtship did not end happily ever after for the couple. All in all, this drama appears really slow and boring. The story line was ok, still flowing but not attractive in characters at least for me, the weather seems to predict one's future. It didn't make me sniff in sad scenes, being forced to engage to Crown Prince was actually burden for her meanwhile the General vowed not to get married and have kids. So, the man she love would rather be single, the guy she didn't love want her more than anything. After the edict of engagement, the General had heavy heart and started to question himself about his true feeling, he accepted the fact that She Yi was predestined to marry Crown Prince and wouldn't fight to find his own happiness while she'd marry up for filial duty. If he had the maturity of reality acceptance, the good looking in-love General taking in the hit of desperation and broken-heart as a man.

I like Xiao Yan the monk (Zhou Lu La) his acting very relax and real although he doesn't have important role but very significant. The young Emperor is a weak one, tears was the weapon he used often to against strong manipulative Dowager Empress. Actually I like the life style of Dowager Empress; very ambitious, dominant, malicious, harden heart, love to keep young men for entertainment. Without her attic , this drama would sink deeper. While the Crown Prince was also interested to become an Emperor, he's more keen to get married with Shi Yi, she's part of his goal in life. He's so happy to marry but abandon her in the altar, what a turn of event....and the end of this drama is..........well you guess it. Next is forever and Ever...I don't think I will watch it. I am done with this series.

Possibly the worst drama I've ever actually finished, writing a review just to warn people don't watch this. The acting was pretty good, music was decent and the over arching storyline had it's strong points but was eventually completely ruined, if you want a drama to have an even remotely satisfying ending then this isn't for you. I gave it 3 instead of 1 star for story because it did have some moments where it began to considered the importance of mulling over the possibility of starting to get good

Throughout the drama they couldn't keep their plot points or rules straight, most of what happens supernatural/fantasy wise just doesn't make sense within their own rule structure, so frustrating watching it, if you want your drama to make sense, have a decent ending, or for your main character to have some semblance of emotion then this drama isn't for you
