The stories are very similar.

Similarities:
1. Class issue - Difference though is that despite Massaya being born of both rich parents, one being mistaken for poor. Dok Soke has actually a poor parent.

2. She is taken in by her grandparent - She is taken from one grandparent to another. The difference here is that it's Dok Soke's grandfather who takes her from her Grandmother's home. While Massaya is taken from her Grandfather's house to her Grandmother's house.

3. Mistreated by her relatives - Dok Soke has two evil aunts and an evil cousin. Massaya has a Good Witch Aunt and a Bad Witch Aunt.

4. They are both high school girls - both girls are 17/18 about to graduate high school.

5. Both girls fall in love with a much older guy - Dok Soke falls with a man who's about 10-12 years older than her and Massaya falls in love with one about 7 years older than her.

6. The family romantic dynamics - Dok Soke falls in love with a man who actually is very close to her family. He's always at her house and has protected her since she was a child. So he's been there since she was growing up. He's seen her as a kid and little sister. This blossomed into romantic feelings. Massaya met her guy as a teenager and he saw her as a kid, because of her childish behaviour and sees her as a kid sister. He protected her from everyone just like Dok Soke's guy and his feelings also blossomed into romantic feelings.

Both couples had to fight against severe family obstacles to be together. Mainly because of family obligations, duty, and filial respect. They both beat the odds. However, DOK SOKE DID A LEFT TURN THAT BLEW THE AUDIENCE'S MIND! Watchers beware!

When going over this write up it's clear to me that Dok Soke is a poor man's version of Massaya and the writers were drunk when they wrote the ending! It's freakishly similar to Massaya that it's disturbing. One could say this is a trope. There are a lot of stories like this in Thailand, I would agree---but those stories are normally switched at birth ones. This is a total Massaya story---the ending is the only flip. I felt I was turned upside and inside out for no reason.
