If I were a betting girl I would bet that the director and/or some of the writers are the same for Princess Hours and Boys Over Flowers. There are strong similarities in the score, the abrupt transitions, and in the characters such as the over-the-top goofiness yet lovableness of the female lead, her quirky but loving parents, the adorable little brother, and the second male leads orangish hair. Fortunately, these are all points that I love about both dramas.

Princess Hours is worth your time to watch. Enjoy!

I started this drama with a lot of expectations because the Thai remakes of Full House and Playful Kiss were the best versions to me so far, so I was thinking they were going to do something as good with this story....Ehh no.
The story is exactly the same : Same jerk prince who cannot say a simple no to his ex, same annoying evil characters, and pretty much all the things the same.
What is different: the weeding is beautiful I must say, the landscapes are worth seeing, is not made in high school but university, she behaves more (a little bit) as a princess who knows her place and duty...but NO ROMANCE okay, the actress has a no kiss policy so you will only get real kisses from the ex girlfriend and the prince...yes, the second female leads get the real kisses.
The romance that was Goong is not there, and I don't think is blame in the actors (besides yes the no kissing policy) cause I can feel the chemistry is just like..something is off. I'm on episode 13-14 and they haven't get a real romantic scene. I give the story a 6 because is the same story, acting I think they are doing good with the script they have because is not the best. Music...Repetitive, boring. I will end this drama by habit of watching it but I think I could be using my time better watching Two Moons or something.

Princess Hours is the Thai remake of the Korean parent story “Goong”. The story line has some changes that are really good and interesting and the plot flows nicely. The leading actors, Pattie Ungsumalynn Sirapatsakmetha as Kaning [Crown Princess] and Tao Sattaphong Phiangphor as In [Crown Prince], have some cute moments but their romantic scenes were weak and lack chemistry. Most of the elder supporting cast did very well delivering their characters but the second male lead and his mother in the drama were awful. Also, the leading female’s voice was too screechy! This drama is one to watch while waiting for a great one!

Despite of the bad reviews, i pushed to finished the drama otherwise i cannot have a just review.
If you ever watched the original story goong from korea, you may find this thai version story odd.
The twist of the story is too much and too twisted which made the story odd.
The main cast khaning acting was too blunt... like no effort to give her best when it is crying time the supporting role minnie cried better than her... Khaning is not bad to do comedy roles instead...
Overall, this drama twist didnt give justice to the original story.
I end up disappointed.. I was a fan of Thai horror movies... I t was my first time to watch a remake drama from Thai... too bad it didint go well....
My rating for twtisting the story 1%, cast acting 3%, dress and costumes 5%, venue and views 8%,
My over all rating 2%... sorry

First. I can say that this remake version is good. I like it. I love how Prince Inn shows more affection. Although his actions and facial expressions are often cold just like Prince Lee Shin in Korean version but still you can really see through his actions and the way he looks at Khaning about how he really feels and it really shows his affection towards the lead.
Second, I like how they make a lot of more sweet scenes than the original korean version. although I love the korean version more especially the chemistry of the actors there but this version is not left out when it comes to the leads chemistry. I really enjoyed their sweet scenes together.
Third, the original korean version is a lot more funnier as far as I can remember though I watched it since time immemorial but I still enjoyed watching this version.
Fourth, what I don't like about this version is the fact about the fake kiss. It's too obvious. I don't know if the lead actress has a no kiss policy in her contract. Although it's not so much of a big deal and still acceptable but I just hate the fact that Prince Inn and Minnie had a real kiss compared to Inn and Khaning. It's just so annoying. it will be a lot more sweeter and more memorable if they really had a real kiss not that obvious fake kiss.
Fifth, I just don't like how too much of a childish the character of the female lead is. Maybe because it's how the writer wants it to be portrayed but for crying out loud, they are already passed their teen years and already in college but still acts like a child which I found so inappropriate.
Sixth, I don't know what's with the flower on their collar. It's just so weird. They're wearing a formal attire and yet there's this weird flower on their collar instead of a bow or a tie.
Seventh, the scene location is so nice especially on the palace but it looks unreal compared to the korean version. I like the korean version more.
Eight, the music is okay but I didn't find it catchy. Mostly it'll make the romantic scene more sweeter because of the impact of the background music but this one it didn't had any impact at all. It'll not make you to have LSS. Totally not all.
Ninth, some scene is cringy especially on the last episode where Inn and Khaning needs to be separated. They were forced to be parted as per the parliament or palace's order and their car was already separated the direction but still they're allowed to stop the car and run to each others arms in the very middle of the cross road. like, what the heck?
Tenth, this version is far different from the original version. They changed a lot from the original story plot especially the last part. They never showed about them having a baby unlike in the original korean version. Though I like this Thailand version but I love the original korean version more.

Overall, this version is good and at least worth watching. Their acting and portrayal of the characters are good. The chemistry is also good. The villain is annoying but not so much or I'm not sure as per my opinion since I honestly skipped a lot of scenes especially if I find it unimportant and I know will make me upset. So better skip those time wasting parts. This drama is good and I can recommend this for everyone to watch though I will advice you to just skip some parts if you find it not worthy to watch and so that you'll immediately finish it. Lol. Although this is a nice drama but most probably I'll not rewatch it. I will remember this drama but it didn't left too much of an impact to me unlike the korean version which is by the way one of my all time favorite asian drama.

When you watch a remake - come in with the mindset that it may not be as good as the original.. then you wouldn’t be like me.. crying because I spent my whole Saturday watching all 20 episodes of childish , incoherent babble. Ok I’m gonna admit the first couple episodes I thought were good or at least I thought .. I cried at a few moments because I felt so bad for the princess. But reading their bio- I thought these would be seasoned actors. I mean the pretend kissing scenes could have been angled better so it didn’t look like they hated each other. Maybe it was in her contract not to kiss actors but come on- at least try and make the scenes more realistic.

The side shows . Omg the aunt was terrible. I really wanted to wipe the red lipstick from her teeth.. it really got to me at times. It didn’t look good anymore.

Question- so when princess was ousted .. where did she go .. she couldn’t set foot back into BhutIn right.. But he can still visit her..
I hope there is a second season so I can at least see what happens

Would I recommend it - if your not doing anything on a Tuesday then watch it .. don’t waste your Saturdays on it

I already watched the Korean parental story so I didn't like this drama much because same story nothing changed in it .
But last few episodes were good .
I like the second lead much than first lead ,2nd lead male actor acting is better than 1st lead ,1st lead didn't have that spark and emotion on his face ,all the time he looked so dull.
One dialogue of his I like it , don't do it again ,I am jealous ,I don't like it ...
From my side it was okay drama ,if you don't have anything to watch then you can try this.

Honestly, this drama was a bit of a fiasco. I mean, trying to improve on the original Princess Hours is impossible, and then no kiss scenes... When I watched this, I decided to give it the benefit of the doubt and watch it as a stand-alone drama, not a remake, because I loved Full House and liked Kiss Me. But I didn't like it even as a regular drama.
STORY: Story? What story? There was a story? There really was very little storyline in this drama. They sort of had the evil lady, and something about Tao getting taken away, or something along those lines... Honestly, the "story" felt like filler scenes in between the sweet scenes. The sweet scenes were really well done from a directing/script standpoint, but with no story to accompany them, the drama just felt kind of like a music video.
ACTING/CAST: Tao and Patty do a pretty good job, I especially liked Tao a little later in the drama after he relaxed into the role. He did a really good job of showing that his character isn't necessarily mean, just quiet, and that he doesn't hate Pat. Patty was pretty good too, but she really didn't add any depth to her character. Everyone else was pretty mediocre.
MUSIC: Cute, but unmemorable and choppy. It didn't contribute to the flow of the drama at all.
REWATCH VALUE: The only reasons I'd ever rewatch this is to watch Tao as the dreamy prince, or to watch the love scenes. There's not really much to watch besides those two things.
All in all, this drama was an utter disappointment, even by regular lakorn standards. The directing, costuming, and design were wonderful, but couldn't compensate for the almost nonexistent storyline and lackluster script.
I hope Ananda and the director learned that in order to make a successful remake, you have to improve on the subject material. Korean Goong was already perfect, so they couldn't improve on it. I was just hoping it'd give up a better fight...

This drama started out great as many reviewers mentioned but then it went down south really fast and the ending, what in the world happened? Was there a budget cut or something? The chemistry between the main couple was terrible and why would you hire an actress to play the part of a princess with a "no kissing contract", gosh, even Disney films can fake a better kiss than this! Overall, I am disappointed with everything this show had to offer, including the theme song, it was terrible. This drama will be going into my "If you want to die, watch me again" file. I am so tramuatize that I don't know if I will watch another thai "remake". Save yourself now, don't watch this!

I really enjoy this remake. I was pleasantly surprised with how much they stick to the storyline considering the last Thai remake of a Korean drama that I watch was not very good. In fact I would say that this version of the story was better than the original Korean. I like how they change certain aspects to make it more modern  but at the same time you really got a feel for the Royal Family and tradition. I would also like to say that the main antagonist is for more evil in this version than the original Korean so it made it far more dramatic. The only downside is that the kiss scenes were s*** they did a lot of turn my head to make the illusion that they kiss instead of actually kissing.

good drama if u're into royalty things

i watched this bc of the mv i saw and khaning (the princess) is really pretty! it fits her role. anyway, im really into royalty romantic comedy dramas so it's a yes for me. i recommend it to you if we have the same taste. it's a 10 for a remake. the palace, outfits, places, are soothing to eyes. must've cost a lot. the kissing scenes were fake tho (i understood it when i realized that the leading girl already have a bf in real life) i dropped it at episode 17 tho because tao (the prince) is always making khaning cry and in danger. i kind of think it's toxic BUT yeah, it's good. just have patience :'>

This was one of the Thai dramas I looked forward to upon the trailer’s release because apart from the familiar actors, it was a remake of my favorite Goong.

The production was grand and it was great. The set is great, the palace looks nice. There were also things they added in/modified like the scent/perfume thing which is nice.

The male lead was a believable enough crown prince, alongside the other royalties. What irked me was the female lead’s seemingly forced antics. The leads were okay visually though, and they can manage to deliver tension-filled scenes. But still I feel that as the series progressed it became a disappointment. Somehow the cast’s acting became flat and monotonous. Too bad though. The production and the premise was promising.
