I honestly liked this drama, but I've only gotten to episode 38 and I am board out of my mind. It's repeating a lot of things just in a new setting. Also, it feels rushed and not well done. The relationship between the main leads are a complete fiasco, they don't have chemistry at all. The acting of Lu Han is not the best, but he is young and can grow as an actor if he wants to go down this road. However, the main actress could have been played by someone better. I loved everyone that played the supporting characters in the show because they didn't feel so rushed and more thought out then the main characters.
Why couldn't we see more of Chun ChangSheng's strengths, it was such a let down in that department but even then I really liked the portrayal of the main lead of him.

Though I have since seen the whole show and I can say for sure that it could have been better, but nonetheless, I like it better now that I have thought about it but generally seen its not the best show out there.

Chen Shu as Divine Empres is worth watching

Some details I would like to note:
FL and ML are a beautiful couple. Unfortunately, an ethereal, anemic, downright plant-like couple. Any physical contact is obviously uncomfortable for them. Don't they want to take their beloved firmly in their arms for once, kiss and feel? At least after dramatic adventures, up to the point of being rescued from the dead? No, instead there are pious sayings and flowery confessions.

They gently breathe on each other in a weak voice, shyly tugging at each other, hardly daring to touch each other even lightly. Grabbing each other's hand are the highlights of the erotic excesses. Who is afraid of a little closeness here?

Of course: understandable is the defense against unwanted and encroaching touches, e.g. from strangers, or intrusive admirers. However, a loving couple does not seek closeness?

It is a pity for this sometimes exciting story, if one disregards the many immanent repetitions and illogical twists.

The bird is shot at the end:
The deep sorrow over QiuShan's death, the displays of affection by the hostile-to-touch FL for the fading criminal, was quite strange. He was a multiple murderer, high traitor and demon, and would have also killed the ML bestially if he had succeeded.

And in this constellation there was a triangular relationship between ML, FL and QiuShan. The "Pope" made fun of this during the final battle and recommended to continue the "love entanglement" of the three in the afterlife. Happy ending? In the end, FL and ML split up. Why? It's probably in the star chart why we wasted our time.

Only Chen Shu as Divine Empress, the incredibly beautiful, perfect and confident actress, is worth watching.

AVERAGE

Don't bring your high expectations if you are going to watch this drama, and its not worth your time unless u have lot of free time. i gave acting 3 stars bcz of the ML and his friends. others are just boring especially the FL. Empress and FL's bodyguard is also nice and they did a good job when it comes to their acting. Fight choreography is also average. Base story line is good and necessary quality graphics, but direction and script work is not fitting to the base story. It have so many repetitions and flaws. Dragging /Lagging the scenes and episodes is also a major drawback to this drama.

To enjoy this drama, do not read any spoiler.

This is a fantasy romance and power-fight story. If you are to enjoy this, do not read any spoiler. There are some interesting twists in the story. You might be able to guess that some people were not what they seemed to be but you would have to wait until later in the story to find out.

It has all the nice elements of Chinese dramas of recent years - good looking cast, excellent acting skills, nice costumes, good cinematography, interesting story line. The story line is interesting and it would keep you wondering what is going to happen at the end. Unfortunately for me, I read the Wikipedia write-up which was a spoiler and it spoiled some of the suspense and surprises.

But it has also the same weaknesses with parts of it illogical (or sometime I think it's cultural). There is always these male or female characters who refuse to see that their love is not reciprocated but continue to harass and stalk to the detriment of either themselves or their love. As usual, the ending may not be entirely all you wish for, although it is not a tragedy.

Also, may I say that the title should be 'Fighter of Destiny'. Destiny is not countable nor is it definite. There the extra 'the' is not appropriate. There are often all these small errors in English in titles and subtitles which do not look professional.

Gülnezer is very pretty but there does not seem much on-screen chemistry with Lu Han. The 'intimate' scene between them does not invoke any romantic feeling watching them (quite unlike Ten Mile Peach Blossom, Pillow Story, Journey of Flower, Nirvana in Fire, Sound of Desert, Ashes of Love, Princess Agent or any of those in their league). Instead, you might find that the hero and second lead were more loving. Or perhaps, I am desensitized after watching so many romance story.

Stiff + Dry

The story line overall was really good, there wasnt any random plot holes arent an issue here and honestly overall it was well produced. the story has some really good twists and some easily guessed twists here and there (like i knew who the big bad was almost within a couple of episodes since introduction, but i didnt expect the ending)
the acting is extremely stiff. i love lu han's music but i really think theres a long way to go in his acting career. the ML and FL both have really stiff emotions. i dont feel like lu han did this role well because his face expressions werent well expressed. it was really stiff and dry most of the time and very rarely were the emotions expressed well. pretty exhausting to watch. gulnezer was also really stiff, i couldnt really tell her emotions apart because she just used a resting face expression for everything else besides the couple of smiles towards the ML. the romance was reallly forced in this piece imho.
supporting-main casts had more range and control on their face expressions so those scenes were nice to watch and felt competed than the leading roles' scenes. wu qian, zeng shunxi, and kido gao essentially had to carry the scenes that they were in. stuck it through because the story was nice and i wanted to see wu qians acting range (she didnt disappoint).

ML can't act good story

I think in any drama it is very important for the main lead to be able to act but Luhan needs more experience in this series or at least wuxia dramas. However, all other actors made up for his poor acting. I really like Tang Tang and Luo Heng. This is a typical wuxia drama where a boy is destined to die at a certain age and hes trying to change his fate, along his journey he met some great friends/students. If you can tolerate Luhan's acting this drama would be great for you, as the story is pretty good. I am also not a fan of his fiance's acting, it is too dull for me.

The FL is too bland and boring

Story: Basic storyline about a young man leaving his home to go on an adventure. He makes friends along the way, falls in love, and learns the truth about his identity. It's not bad but as I said basic. However, it doesn't mean you shouldn't watch it.

Acting: Okay here we go: The FL is boring and bland. All the other characters are so full of life that whenever we get to a scene with the FL I'm tempted to skip it. Now the acting isn't necessarily bad- it not great, but the character is just so quiet and somber. I also don't buy the love story between the ML and FL. The ML had way more chemistry with the 2nd FL.
Also not a huge fan of the main lead. No disrespect to Luhan but I just personally don't find him attractive.
Also Joseph Zeng's character is overdubbed. Too distracting!

Music: I liked both the opening and ending theme

Overall: It's not a bad drama it just wasn't for me
