If I had only one drama to recommend to someone to watch, it would be this drama. This drama is one that will make you cry in every single episode, so keep the Kleenex nearby. It will make the viewers truly thankful for their health and motivate them to have a more positive outlook on their life.

Sawajiri Erika is quite convincing as Ikeuchi Aya, the character upon which the entire drama rests upon. Nishikido Ryo also does a terrific job as Asou Haruto, Aya's semi-love interest in the drama. The chemistry and the progress between these two is very beautiful and realistic. Every character in this drama is wonderfully portrayed and goes through development.

Another thing to say, the music in this drama is amazing and touching. Every song fits the scenes and tone of the drama to perfection.

Highly recommended for everyone who wants to watch a meaningful and touching drama.

This is one if the best dramas I have ever watched! It made me cry almost every episode but it was a great drama. It has a really good story and it makes you think about many things in life. This drama has everything you can ask for, excellent cast, awesome OST, and a heartfelt story that will make you want to work harder In life. The quotes at the end of every episode were so touching and knowing they were written by a real person going through that disease made it so more meaningful.

Nishikido and Sajiwara were really convincing on their parts I think they were perfectly cast. Also Fujiki was a very good choice as the doctor specialist.

And Remioromen with their music on the OST was a really good combination with the key pints of the drama, I have their song Konayuki on my playlist until now.

This dramas is based on the real story, so that's why is so moving and well made. The romance part of the drama just made it better. Even though that part was fictional, it was greatly adapted and fitted perfectly with the story.

Highly recommend this drama, in fact I've watched 2 times already and will watched it again anytime. Be prepared because you will certainly shed 1 liter of tears (or in my case maybe more),but don't worry this is not a depressing drama, this drama is a drama full of hope and encouragement.

Oh how does someone describe a drama like this without getting sad. This was the very first emotional drama i ever watched and i must say, i have never cried so much during a drama.

this drama was based off a true story, which makes it sadder when you realize it, and considering they only made 11 episodes, they fit quite a lot and still made it an excellent drama.

the cast was p e r f e c t i o n ! Erika played Aya amazingly while Nishikido Ryo played his supporting role well. (his crying scenes made me BAWL) the family was also great and same with the others that had small roles. the music was also just perfect. the songs put you into a certain mood, it's hard for me to even explain but it makes the drama that more emotional.

i would recommend anyone to watch this. it's very sad but also extremely inspiring. and if you can, read the real diary from Aya (;

This drama made me cry a lot! I really dont like watching sad dramas! It's my friend's fault for introducing me this, after watching the first few episodes, i was hooked to see how cruel life is to some people, I couldnt stop watching because i hope to see how her life goes! However, I do not wish to watch it for the second time! Maybe only if I were too depressed i would rewatch this to cry with her fate...

Sometimes dramas can be overrated and I’ll be frank;
I had my doubts about this one.

The series has been sitting on my list for awhile and I’m glad that I finally got round to watching it as this was easily one of the more well- deserving contenders for the tearjerker category ever.

The acting was phenomenal and I really felt as though the character were oozing out their sorrow through the screen. ( Especially the female lead.)

I’ll be honest on one thing. The camera angles and filming maybe hasn’t aged too well but the overall themes are definitely timeless. A definite watch.

This should be a bloody classic for all Asian Drama Lovers. Enough said.

PD. You do need a lot of tissues.
PD2. Wish I hadn't watched it, maybe then I wouldn't have became a physician.

Based on true story. Aya, teenager in high school, has deadly disease. All of the episode tells about how Aya through rest of her life. How Aya wants to being loved by the opposite gender too. How her family try to be strong with this condition. There is a lot of message from this touching story. I cried so much when I watched it. You will be glad to be your healthy body.

One of my all time favorite shows - even after watching it six times over the years, each time with different people, it stays just as charming and sad as the first time and no eyes stayed dry.

The acting was marvelous, and the music fit perfectly.

No matter what genre you like - give this a watch.

This drama is the best drama I've ever seen.
at the end of this, I had literally cried a liter of tears..
its such a moving and beautiful story, and it makes it even more powerful to know that its based on a real life story.!

one day I would love to watch this again, but I remember being half depressed a week after finishing this drama, that's how much of an impact this story left on me.

this is a must see for every one. it will leave you with the ability to feel a great deal of empathy.

Although I didn't cry until later in the series, this drama was breathtakingly beautiful and sad. Truly it is one of the most spectacular and finest dramas made by Japan. It's not one of the highest rated dramas for no reason. Don't hesitate because this drama doesn't lack much. It is based on a real story and although it deals with the depressing topic of sickness like lots of other dramas, the concept doesn't take away anything from the show. The story was finely written and flows like a ball of yarn rolling across the floor. It had everything, sadness, happiness, youth, and even some breezy romance. You'll learn not just a lot of medical things from the show but you'll also learn the value of a person's existence. The acting of the entire cast deserves a standing ovation especially Sawajiri Erika.The music is very sentimental and mellow which is perfect for the atmosphere of the show. The theme song "Human" by K is one of my favorite songs of all time. As for the rewatch value, I gave it a 6 because I don't think I could rewatch this drama many times like I can for Galileo. The roller coaster of emotions from episode to episode would be too much for me to handle. However, there might be that one Friday or Sunday night, when I can sit back against the wall by my bed and watch an episode of this drama. Overall, great show. Go ahead and watch it. It is definitely worth the watch!

This drama has got to be one of the saddest dramas I have ever seen. It's a true story and it really makes you cry from episode one 'til the end.
